I Didn’t Expect This To Be The BEST HYBRID Of 2024?

I Didn’t Expect This To Be The BEST HYBRID Of 2024?

if there are three things you would want in your hybrid in 2024 it’s a power Bridge a power shell and of course a hot face hi everyone my name is James Robinson welcome back to this YouTube channel now I don’t review hybrids that often because a lot of people don’t really care about them it doesn’t do that well for views but I think this one could be different I think this could be potentially the most forgiving hybrid of 2024 but also the most versatile and that’s quite shocking because we don’t have an adjustable Loft on here but I think it looks really nice and traditional so I think that’s quite a good thing we’re going to test it out on the golf course today we we’ve already tested it for numbers the numbers were impressive so make sure you stay tuned and find out right we’re going to aim at this post and we’re going to see how close we can get for me this is the three hybrid it’s 19° this is a club that I would probably have in the bag depending what golf course I’m playing I’m a driving iron kind of person but I’m not a seven wood or a fivewood kind of person so you have to understand when you’re looking at hybrids what kind of head shape do you like the look of if we look down at this I think it looks incredibly nice with that matte finish and I think cobra have done a really good job of that is of course the dark speed family so the dark speed I think Cobra let’s be fair they’ve smashed it this year bearing in mind how Callaway tailon made titlist pxg now they’re all targeting the wood Market they want the market share of that market and Cobra just kind of sneaking along going we’ll have a bit of that we’ll have a bit of that so without any further ado how forgiving is it and just how could you not have that in the bag I have it that terrible by the way and that’s the perfect t-shot down the right hand side of this Fairway guys are you a hybrid kind of person what hybrid would you have in I’ve always thought that Adams made the best hybrids Taylor Made then bought Adams and started making very good hybrids the pxg Black Ops 0311 is a fantastic hybrid this year and I think there’s something to do with that kind of stealth like finish I think a hybrid you don’t really want all the Frills of different colors on there you just want it to do the job which I think these do quite nicely so can we put a better swing on that and see if we can get a bit more of a penetrating ball flight because that would be nice oh yeah that’s on the post and what I like about the ball flight is just how it peels off from left to right Turf interaction wise I was a little bit worried cuz Bobby what do we not want to do on this tea divot we don’t want to take huge divots on this tea the guys work incredibly hard to get these te’s in fine fetal so Turf interaction wise I’m really happy with what we getting there one thing which Cobra used to do and they used to do it incredibly well with the baffler clubs they had the rails on the bottom I’m gutted theyve gone away with that I’m gutted they’ve gone away with it with the three-wood I’ve already filmed that review it’s not out yet but it might be by the time this goes out I wish that have kept them cuz I feel like if you do catch it a little bit Duffy those baffler rails used to really really really help you can see we have an adjustable weight here although you’re not really going to adjust it because it comes out you might replace it in a fitting with a heavy or a light one but there’s no front to back adjustments here so there’s no real adjustment at all on this club but if you go and get fitted for it you get the right length you get the right Loft and you put the right weight in there there’s no reason why you would want to adjust this mid round and the KBS hybrid shaft oh we’ve took a div it Bobby we’ve took a div it but it’s a fantastic ball flight and there three identical shots to be honest if I’m going to take a divot with a hybrid that’s the exact divot I want to take and I’m now going to fill that in with sand and Seed but is this the best forgiving hybrid of 2024 let’s hit a couple more and find out so guys do me a favor and get in the comments below for this video because I’m very interested to know what do you look for in a hybrid I love reviewing hybrids but like I said a lot of you guys almost don’t really care too much about them but I think it’s a club way you can hit it off the like I’ve done there and if you’ve got the right hole the right shot it can be a very very interesting club for you it can be the perfect club for you to try but also if you’re in the roof if you’re in the Fairway if you have that 200 yard shot it could be the club that you need so we’re going to test it out the roof numbers wise we’ll jump in the studio now and we’ll see just how we got this hybrid to perform because I was very impressed with it with the m hits It’s like a bullet when you hit it straight and out the middle but most golf clubs are when you spray it across the face There’s Something About That Power bridge that power shell I know I made a joke about it at the start of the video but it really does give you that consistency which front to back I’m absolutely buzzing with okay so with Cobra having smashed it so much in 2024 with both the Fairway woods and the drivers let’s see what the hybrids have in store when it comes to numbers already out on the golf course you’ve seen that this is versatile you’ve seen that it’s pretty forgiving and I think looks wise I think it’s fantastic I quite like the fact we don’t have that adjustment huzzle it looks a little bit sleeker I know that’s a little bit of a kind of negative because you don’t have the adjustment but if you go and get fitted for one of these and you know exactly that right I need the two I need the three I need the four this is a 31 19° it’s got a gorgeous KBS shaft in there as well a shaft which I absolutely love this year I think they’re smashing it as well so I think anything around 220 here and it’s a club that I would like to play with I think we’re going to try and keep the dispersion in and then we’re going to check front to back dispersions as well because essentially this is a club that you don’t have to hit well all the time but you certainly don’t want to hit bad ever because generally it’s going to start costing you shots so without any further Ado let’s see lovely head shape straight away so easy to launch up in the air I’ve not hit that that well to be honest the fact that’s launched as it has done and carried 21 221 total straight away off the bat very very impressed with that very happy with it it I would like to think we can get more out of it but if you look at that ball flight a nice big high fade generally that’s ticking the boxes for me with this club if you want a lot of Versatility you’re not going to have a hybrid in the bag you’re probably going to have a driving iron I have a driving iron for the summer and I’ll probably use a hybrid more in the winter or if we have a wet summer and you’re trying to get the ball up in the air and land it nice and soft that that’s more powerful exactly the same shot just fading off nicer this might pitch at 220 219 230 total very impressed with that very impressed with it I think Cobra are going slightly under the radar this year I don’t know if it’s cuz it looks so stealthy being the dark speed but the dri certain the dri is so much better than last year’s the fairway wood is going toe to- toe for me with the pxg fairway wood as being either one of the best looking or the best performing Fairway Woods of the year can this hybrid do the same CU hybrids aren’t clubs that loads of people get excited with but personally I get really excited by them I’m going excited to buy these ball Flats again exactly the same nice high big fade 210 216 carry wasn’t anticipating that from that strike because generally I hit down on the ball a little bit too much for a hybrid that’s why it spins so much that’s why it goes so high but the ball flights are all really nice let’s try a little bit lower it certainly hasn’t gone lower just so easy to launch and that’s the thing about a hybrid that’s why you have it that’s why you have this weight to the back 212 carry 221 total power shell look at that Bobby power shell power Bridge power everywhere power for everyone just car and copy again carbon copy again that was a bit more penetrating 216 consist wise this is certainly going to be up there and I think anyone who’s in the market for a hybrid this year where you want that little bit of forgiveness you don’t really need to be chopping and changing the Loft so much this could certainly do the job and I’d certainly be testing it against the likes of the Ping the Titleist the tailor made the Callaway it’s just a carbon copy let’s get back out there and let’s finish this test where it counts on the golf course now usually we would have that there but you can literally throw a blanket over all of those and I’m really impressed by that because it were it was three it were three terrible English there is it it was three very varying strikes and for there to be five yards front to back dispersion and 10 yards left to right dispersion on three shots out here in the elements is ridiculous so Cobra take my hat off to you it’s heck at times it’s stayed on but you know what I mean oh dear so guys we’re 220 out in the roof this is where hybrids for me need to go into own they need to perform for you because I’m not expecting to hit this to 15 20 ft I’m expecting to hopefully hit the green with this and from there Salvage my par the only reason I’d be here is because I potentially play in a very long difficult hole or if hit a bad drive so I’m trying to get myself back in play take my medicine and this is where I feel like these HD can really really help especially with that mid weighting into the wind out the roof ones per Ed up we’re going to give ourselves some bad lies and some okay lies see if we can just draw this in off the LI the ball’s slightly above our feet and I’ve not hit that one well at all if that’s flag high it gives us a nice chip that’s level with the bunker so not the best shot I would hope to maybe get up and down half of the time there so not the end of the world probably closer than I would be with the relative 3 ion that this is replacing being at 19° so this one’s sat down I’m going to try and get a little bit steeper on this feel like we can get there if we get the strike difficult out of the wet roof but there we go oh it’s fading again though does that carry the bunker or is in it that’s carried the bunker so that one’s more than flag High very happy with that as a result now can we hit the green with this third and final shot numbers wise it’s been very good versatility Wise It’s been Fant fantastic can we get the green from here come on just fade back because I’ve struck that so good and it stayed exactly where I hit it and that is in the left hand green bunker so we’re around the green here we’ve got it surrounded we’ve not managed to get it on there but I think personally that has helped me no end over in iron is it going to be the best hybrid of 2024 let me know what you’d like to see me compare it against moving forward into the summer CU I think this could be a fantastic option for most golfers and you see for me I feel like the real party piece with this driver isn’t necessarily the Forgiveness hybrid sorry Bobby well mentioned the real party piece isn’t necessarily the Forgiveness isn’t necessarily the numbers but it’s been able to do this exact shot that I’m going to play now on demand because this isn’t the world’s most potential for giving High I feel like maybe it is because more golfers would have this in the bag than the mega forgiving XL model but it’s not the low spin model so it’s the kind of Best of Both Worlds that most people would try but I can still play a little punt down the Fairway like this if you need to guys thank you look at that Bobby oh just a little tiger Stinger guys tiger never use a cobra hybrid though is it but guys thanks so much for watching smash that subscribe button if you’ve enjoyed the video let me know what you think about the Cobra dark speed hybrid Bobby

  1. I despised hybrids for a long time, until this year. I fancied a change to my Taylormade Sim UDI and decided to go for an Adams UTX hybrid. Glad I did, because it's a magical club

  2. I still have Adams XTD Super LS hybrids in 22° and 19°, I love them even tho they're white on top 🤷‍♂️

  3. I have always used Adams hybrids until Taylormade bought them, now I used TaylorMade hybrids and carry two of them, Usually I carry a 4 and 5 hybrid. Can't hit anything that far anymore so that is all I need. Sometimes I do switch out one of them for a 7 wood.

  4. I use an original Stealth 4 hybrid. I also have a Stealth 3 hybrid, but after using both, I actually hit the 4 hybrid farther and higher. It’s really strange. For whatever reason, I hit that 4 hybrid about 235. It’s also super easy to hit. It’s like a magic club. I hit that thing so far, there’s no point in a 3 hybrid, so I stuck my Titleist 712u driving iron for 215 shots.

  5. I replaced my Cobra LTX 4 hybrid with a Callaway AI smoke 4 hybrid and have been really impressed. Very forgiving and easy to hit and very versatile. I used to punch out from under a tree, I've even chipped with it. I tried the Darkspeed and it wasn't as consistent as the Callaway.

  6. Hybrids rule my golfing world. 4h – 8h. Funnily hybrids still fly under the radar. I guess egos still play a significant part in golf.

  7. Have you ever reviewed the Cobra King Tec Hybrid? Would love to see a review of that and maybe comparison to this. It’s extremely adjustable and apparently also great from what I’ve read about it.

  8. i rock the Callaway Rogue ST OS Max 3-4-5 hybrids ( did have a 6 but traded it in ) and they are awesome!!!!!! the 5 hybrid is probably my favorite because it's so easy to swing and get the ball up in the air and i know how far it's going to go… it's literally my 185 yard shot club. the 3 & 4 hybrids, while i like them, every now and then i get the Nuke shot that just goes ( 20 yards too far )… or i'll come up 10 yards short..

  9. I absolutely smoke my Ping G430 hybrids and always on a rope. 2H goes 265 and 3H goes 245. Perfect gaps between 3W and 5i. Went hybrid over 5W/7W for the ease of hitting out of the rough when needed.
