The DP World Tour heads to Golfclub München Eichenried for the BMW International Open, the final event of the European Swing, the fourth of five Global Swings on the 2024 Race to Dubai. There’s plenty at stake at the sixth and final counting event of the Swing, with a spot at the Genesis Scottish Open up for grabs to the Swing Champion as well as places in The 152nd Open at Royal Troon for the top five players not otherwise exempt on the Race to Dubai. Current Swing leader Guido Migliozzi will be teeing up this week hoping to retain his position at the top above Nacho Elvira, while Thriston Lawrence returns to defend the title he won last year and last week’s champion Marcel Siem is among a number of German stars that will be hoping to impress on home soil. Away from the top of the rankings, one of the biggest focuses of the week will be on Bernhard Langer, the most successful German golfer of all time, who is set to make his 513th and final appearance on the DP World Tour. Ryan Fox will also make his third appearance in a regular DP World Tour event this season as he begins a three-week stretch in Europe and he is joined by 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett, who won his maiden DP World Tour title at the BMW International Open in 2012 at Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof Cologne.

and this was over him on the other n Mark yeah he’s always had the most wonderful touch around the greens that’s been a Hallmark of his game and once again super touch yes they don’t make him like him anymore such a tidy player always been great around the greens now short power fours at four and five that was a super shot yeah one hole further ahead and this 40 birdie for burnhard and the but of beaven it’s s there’s the trademark fish pump and you can hear just how many fans are out there with him enjoying himself this to break part and it goes a 71 and currently just outside the top 20 Sensational performance for Bernard Langer I don’t think you landed on this back ride Plateau I think he’ll try to flatten this out and run it in there a little bo so we and Ry following this group tremendous crowds stop it rolling back the ear Bernie back Edge not a lot of movement in this part down this hill does go left to right nor right to left oh hello hello oh my word wow how close was that what a great long range effort said stall early I tell you a brave person to bet against him making it through to the weekend yeah he started 22 that’ be quite a start wouldn’t it he pass the third putting the finishing touches on a remarkable day as you and Ferguson he needs to worry about those two trees way down there on the right hand side if you leak a little right you’ll block yourself out no trees right there yeah that’s a beautiful little cultured runny Drive isn’t it he nipped it and that was probably 2 feet away from really zipping back it’s a good result nice shot from burnard It’s Time Bernard he yes what a start he could well have birded the first four holes te Green Golf has been fabulous but he has got that birdie there to go one under for the day he’s using those amazing hands to turn the club face o over and just somehow rescue every shot as the left hip doesn’t turn thing come on injured get up up slope I built him [Applause] up can he convert never any doubt was there Side Up and Down he muscled that one up there so he might have had a little bit of a a little tweak Bo he left something in reserve he won’t show his cards early oh no it’s just caught the edge of the penalty area yes we saw a splash right out and let her do the chaa give us some chaa remain CH what kaching what a shot here from Langer it’s a lot wider but the longer players want to take it on I’m actually not sure that’s the way to go about it today I think the way burnout with the distance burnout hits I think it’s a three wood for all the longer hitters but [Music] [Applause] see [Applause] that’s a good PA for burnard not a breath of wind out here right now trouble down the left a lot of it and down the right wing it’s a beast of a four isn’t it don’t kick left it’s okay there gets half a decent lie be a [Applause] to w how about that for precise he never lost it as [Applause] he oh it’s just brilliant he is grinding par after par after par look at [Applause] that good luck to Germany tonight in the football thank I’m sure the English are wishing you all the best very quiet in here way I don’t know what’s uh 6 on setting up for a cut towards it I didn’t get it did you sounded a bit skinny yeah miscued it but he’s got away with it he’s got a good bounce a good break it’s one he will expect to make [Music] [Applause] thought he was that [Applause] close what were you uh Jay 635 times but once here oh my word oh dear that was an awkward movement wasn’t it through the ball you can see just how uncomfortable he is and how well he’s doing to even be out there really so nice position Into the Heart of the Fairway just short of that bunker that sits in the middle of the Fairway he time from 142 taking this thing on here he’s always been a great chipper really good really good [Applause] so Langer for Park 210 I’m not sure he can carry it that far actually that was his little baffy it was his well he can carry it then oh he did he got it up there flag high oh here he is old bunker boy it’s interesting the way he tried to play that then he tried to chunk it and release it well a great stroke isn’t it and that statistic that just came up there is quite astonishing that he’s made 65 if he wasn’t a little injured he probably could down the right hand side just a magnificent look he just turned that over slightly he’s got a little 30 35 yards of run on it and that’s a beautiful t-shot I do believe that’s the best t-shot is it all day and it’s the last one yes Arnold Palmer finishing off his career at be hill with a driver off the deck oh he had to go entertainer right to the end [Applause] good enough in fact better than good really because he will be very emotional right now not easy to focus on [Applause] [Music] Golf and in typical Superstar Fashion he pleases the gallery what a career congratulations Berard Langer thank you for everything you have achieved in the game you will be missed that we have loved every single minute of it great respect from everybody terrific adulation not just from those players look at Marcel team there getting the crowd but also from all of the other players that are here this week and maybe even watching throughout the world on the television Bernett as much as we all know how much you would have loved to have made that weekend and despite your efforts this really is a moment of Celebration uh golf in Europe is your home but also the Catalyst for the career that you’ve had uh could you just summarize to us what the DP World Tour is meant to you both on and off the golf course yeah it’s hard to put into words um it’s kind of been a a dream come through for me you know growing up in a village of 800 people where nobody knew what golf was period when I told my classmates I’m going to go play golf they saw I’m crazy and uh they thought I’m a ptpt golfer mini golfer and all that so people had no idea and it was really a strange situation even when I finished school and I tried to become a golf professional uh people didn’t even know what that was it didn’t even exist as a profession in a way so it was very difficult complicated but uh it was my dream and sorry uh yeah I was able to live that dream for 50 years 51 years now so uh Wonder wonderful memories all over the world not just in Europe but you know in Asia sorry Asia Australia Japan you know America really everywhere South Africa uh was able to travel the world uh meet with kings and queens and uh play golf with all sorts of people whether they’re successful businessman or just uh the average uh butcher or Bri brick layer or whatever it was it was fun it was great and yeah I had lots of uh ups and downs in my career uh there were difficult times with The Yips and other things but uh I’ve had many wonderful moments U it was a privilege to you know play with a big five as they call them uh sevy and falo and ly and wzy uh I think we spurred each other on uh I believe we probably made the tour in the 80s and 90s what it is now what it has become and uh it was fun playing against these guys and and you know the youngsters now uh bear the benefits of that throughout the 10 times that you teed it up but also Captain the Ridder cup you’ve built some lifelong relationships and you’ll be able to keep that forever how much will you cherish these moments and memories oh forever they they will not fade away um you know the captaincy was certainly one of my highlights uh to be the captain of the European team and to win in America was unheard of really at that point in time uh and to play under four or five different captains was a privilege uh it was always an honor to represent the European flag and um it still is so great memories from all over the place knowing that this is your last event on the DP World Tour your colleagues have only had precious things to say I guess in regards to what you have meant to them what have they meant to you well they’ meant a great deal you know they’ve been the people I’ve competed against really but my my fellow competitors but also my friends uh We’ve created many close friends ships over decades really with some of them yet at the same time I don’t know half the players that are here now so uh that’s part of life it’s the cycle of life you know it’s almost two generations uh from when I started uh but I’m thrilled to see how many German Pros we have now on tour that you know they’ve they’ve stepped into my footsteps and taking on the challenge and hopefully develop German games the German golf some more in the future well Bernard you’re an absolute inspiration for all on behalf of everyone thank you so much for everything you’ve done for our game appreciate all that you do for our game thank you thank you to watch another DP world tour video click here and to subscribe click here
