With just five weeks remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR heads to the Quad Cities for the John Deer Classic. Jordan Spieth returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2015. Spieth is a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run including in his last appearance nine years ago when he shot a third-round 61. Spieth’s 2013 victory at the John Deere Classic was his first TOUR title. Reigning champion Sepp Straka aims to become the first repeat winner since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-2011. The Austrian is currently 17th in the FedExCup standings and has four top-10 finishes so far this year. Jason Day is another contender with four top-10 finishes in 2024 and returns to TPC Deere Run for the first time since 2011. Day has never missed the cut at the John Deere Classic in five appearances, with his best finish (T15) coming in back-to-back years, 2009-10. Other names to look out for this week include Sungjae Im, J.T. Poston, Jake Knapp, Aaron Rai and Joel Dahmen.

a par five and then a third is a par three Carson young just off the green 197 yd today up the hill cannot see the Green from the te and the nice little pitch in for Carson Bird’s flying early in this final run and you brought your little chair with you that’s the hole you park it on park it back there you what you see a little bit you see Eagles you see birdies you see Tantrums trust what you’ve been working on it gets up that could be really good that starts to go down right here that is fantastic absolutely remember the last five winners here B one and two so no problem there his hands are definitely in control and he’s in control he now has a four shot lead as they head up to number three and Ben Griffin is doing that Ben Griffin is doing that this is perfect and and uh yeah well they also all three had to wait a little bit for the green to clear so if you’re pulling your yardage book out now and saying well what about you’re the problem oh come on Ben Griffin dunk it so Ben Griffin will have that to get to 5 under through five holes and he is officially lurking here at the John Deer [Applause] ball below his feet right hole location that’ll help a little cut whole location on the right Edge gorgeous one from the peppers the flag stick you’re right about choking down to the steel oh that’s just so well judged from that line excellent play absolutely at about 20 feet for bird now what time did you get out here this morning 9:30 oh how about this start how about it absolute dream start there for Davis talked about patience and discipline that’s all it’s going to take right now for for for Davis Fairway on downhill heavy Rush CT pan up ahead of the green first Chaser to get to 20 under par after he rolls it in for birdie Thompson for birdie be a little careful with the speed on this but boy does this look good another one hot plate Thompson in the zone just tapping those in like they’re two Footers Luke Clanton on the box 229 today you go right at it 218 clears that bunker but you can use a little bit of a slope out to the right but he’s pretty aggressive line and just 230 yards and just right at it I think they call him Mister don’t they Luke Clanton young birdie putt bottoms it out two on the card at the seven get gets him to 20 under up one to the seventh Luke Clinton’s only Birdie on the front side was a two on the par three third Beautiful t- shot there for Luke clant goes two2 on the two-part threes he’s 18 under karthy his third shot I really thought he’d have a big week this week he’s having a decent week but everybody else is going so low he’s due to win his first event it’s going to happen and on that right side dangerously close to that oh dangerously to go in how about that using some slope and spin that ball was starting to zip on back there so lucky that flag stick got in the way have a good week that’s two Eagles today 92 ft a put up to that let’s just this is a clinic yes it is Flawless th Orson now out of the rough here at the eighth not a great lie got that whole location on the left side got to be aware of it jumping they’re both staring at it oh man is this any good judged it perfectly watch out jump in the hole so much for jumping all right Denny mcarthy this for birdie following up that Eagle at the last hole Two Eagles and a birdie on his round I’ll say it ain’t so it’s so how about that seen that before from him told you he was going to have a good week right he said ah I thought he’d have a good week Eagle birdies T2 at the challenging par for ninth hole alongside Ian Baker Finch I’m Andrew catalon and Ian what a show he is putting on it is an absolute stripe show here for Davis Thompson now at 13 McCarthy was in trouble off the te Advanced the ball to here he’s Eagle 10 he’s birdi 11 one of the favorites for the week and what a run now four under through his first four holes of this back nine he has another birdie opportunity after a spectacular approach shot at the par 4 to 27 under what an opening nine for Davis Thompson thank you very much Andrew one of the stars of the week Luke Candon playing what a week he is having actually what a last three weeks he is having time to make a little hay on the back nine Frank right to left downhill wow look at that six birdies in his first 10 holes so it’s not just Davis Thompson Michael Thor bson making his third start on the PGA tour that is pitching wge and he is flag hunting promise you that whole location is not that easy set it up in the middle of the PO hit it out of the middle chances are it’s going to go in oh and just sneaks it in currently that’s the best round on the golf course went out in 29 Clanton can accomplish that today as we go to 11 and the birdie putt on the way for CT pan that’s backto back at 10 and 11 Carson young is second awkward lie on the UPS slope there he’s caught that slightly skinny but on a great line well you’d rather hit it thin out of a bunker that’s for sure wonderful swing with the slope yeah shoulders and even hips too is that any good fantastic exclamation point yeah Tournament winning shot right there and now for birdie Clanton Clanton well he wasn’t happy with the t- shot he’ll be happy now as Ian said this could be a tournament winner to get to 28 got [Applause] it to the final hole and Luke Clanton trying to finish with a birdie how about this how about it what a breath of fresh air this young man has been the last couple of weeks and now Thor bjornson for birdie at 18 these kids are unbelievable yeah why not Thor bjornson Davis Thompson remember the name his first career PGA Tour win big hug there from Jo and here comes his wife for that congratulatory kiss and hug emotional moment a he is so [Applause] good a look at the final results and the Young Guns Clanton and Thor bjornson so impressive Ian why are these young players able to make such an immediate impact well I think the college system is so good here in the United States that there so many of the young guys out there Luke said yesterday there’s 30 or 40 off them just the same that they’ve got a beat in these college tournaments and they come out here prepared the coaching is so good all the uh information sharing U the training they’re so fit and athletic and fast Nows they really come out thinking they can do it thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube to watch more click 1. Why are the young players able to come out and make an immediate impact? On top of total dedication, a hidden ingredient is sports psychologists nowadays. They are huge in golf and tennis.

  2. Great golf from so many new names, Davis Thompson looks the goods. However, the PGA really have to look at that venue. So many players 20 under. Either set the course up harder or try a new venue.

  3. This course looked easier than my local muni. Not a break to be found in any of the putts. Idk what everyone is so hyped about. Hardly ant of the top players were here this week and it was anyone's for the taking

  4. PGA tour is so boring with these courses, guys come out and absolutely destroy them, you have to shoot 25 under over 4 days to have a chance to win, get some challenging courses – this is one of the main reasons people tune into the majors

  5. A birdie fest on a defenseless golf course. Is too common on the US tour. Grow the rough before tournament play. Then trim it back for members. Make these guys work for it.

  6. What a missed highlights . No C. T. Pan show ? he is 2nd place ! all the rounds . skip Mr. 2nd seat pan . others players behind Pan on highlights couple times .
    No Pan ?

  7. Well done to this fella.PGA tour getting very interesting older chaps need to watch out of these kids Luke Canton amazing times indeed

  8. Not a single tee shot shown. Guess everyone just walks down and places the ball on the fairway for all we know from these highlights.

  9. am i tripping or on Ben griffins approach shot into the fifth hole. when they zoom into his ball, is he using a Maxfli golf ball?

  10. Great golf: multiple stars are born. But I agree with the DIY guy, getting tough to stomach endless "How good is that" and "Is that any good," brain-dead reactions by announcers, over and over and over…

  11. The PGA should just abandon any Taiwanese players from participating their event since they obviously ignored CT’s performance during the broadcast and highlight
