you know I always tell my kids you I’ve been 24 you haven’t been 50 I’ve been 30 you haven’t been 60 I always try to tell them and I make the point look when I tell you something you’re going to say it’s not going to happen and I’m going to tell you it is going to happen because it always happens and one of those things is this one of those things is about athletes I’ve studied athletes my entire life I have I mean when I was a kid I studied older athletes the guys I had to compete against in high school who was going where who was going to Indiana who was going to calat who was going where and I loved it when I was in college how did I have to beat this guy out to play at Indiana now as Scott Skyles going to his left I studied guys like it was my job certainly in coaching after I studied them I keep studying them and I can pretty much forell what is going to happen what am I talking about what are you talking about Dan I’m talking about angel Reese Angel Reese is a name we all know because well Kaitlyn Clark is a name we know more and Angel Reese is being dragged along with Caitlyn Clark and good for Angel Reese Angel Reese has made herself a lot of money Angel Reese has gotten herself some Fame Angel Reese has decided to play the heel to Caitlyn Clark’s not heel or however you want to put it everybody’s jealous in the WNBA and everybody has something to say about Caitlyn Clark but nobody more so than Angel Reese and in fact you got to give Angel ree credit she whooped around the court for a national championship two years ago so I’m all in on Angel Reese problem for Angel Reese is her game is the same as everybody else is in the WNBA Caitlyn clarks’s isn’t Caitlyn Clark is Steph Curry Angel Reese’s I don’t even know just another post guy Miles Turner without the jump shot I guess anyway I knew this was coming there are two things I told you that are going to come one Angel Reese was going to have mental problems not mental problems like you think I’m talking about not well she’s going to an no no no no no she’s going to mentally break under the pressure that she is putting on herself with all of her talking complaining bitching moaning whining the other thing I told you and this hasn’t happened yet but it’s going to is in the nil era in college 3 to five years from now we’re going to see all these college athletes in their local newspapers crying bitching whining moaning about how how their mental health they just don’t know what to do we lost all this money we had all this money and now I don’t have and I don’t have a job blah blah blah blah blah blah blah it’s coming well Angel Reese’s came the other day she claims the media is twisting her words now you got to understand something about modern media it’s kind of hard to twist your words because everything’s on video If you think something’s been Twisted you go to the video every press conference is videotaped and I always said this when somebody comes in to do an interview with me I always put my recorder on the table say look I’m going to record this also and they look at me and they go what I go yeah I’m going to record this because I want to make damn sure that I am accurately portrayed and if I am not then I am going to use my recording to show that you are not telling the truth about me that makes sense right so Angel Reese won’t talk Angel Reese is being Solen Angel Reese has one-word answers and now of course the great Defenders of Angel Reese are worried about her mental health well she hadn’t showed up for a press conference she’s giving one-word answers and a guy named Steve Greenberg of the Chicago Sun Times is questioning her a few questions in Greenberg said it was clear that one or two Word answers were the order of the day now I’m not mad at that hey look nobody owes some guy named Steve Greenberg or anybody else any answers to anything and again I go to experience after a win or a loss e at Indiana more at Indiana and Bowling Green but I knew the guys at Bowling Green cuz there was only a few Indiana had a lot of these upand cominging bloggers and you’d look out there and you go these guys are idiots I remember looking at Bob Kravitz knowing the writer the star the indie star columnist had no idea if I broke the game down how the game actually went he would have no idea what I’m talking about but he had all the answers so anyway long story short uh Steve Greenberg one or two Word answers good why do you have to feel energetic about talking to a bunch of pizza stained clowns I don’t get it and that was and that something was wrong even though Reese essentially had ignored a couple of questions by saying dismissively I’m good well that’s fine I know yall like to twist my words re said so I’m just keeping it short and sweet re said according to Greenberg who then tried to tell her that he wouldn’t do that I can’t trust any of y’all so I’m just letting you know short and sweet isn’t it amazing it it it really is amazing if I were the commissioner of the WNBA I would be having a I don’t know if I would have a zoom call with everyone and say look fools stop criticizing the people that are helping us grow and I’m not just talking about Caitlyn Clark so many of these women have come out against male fans they just don’t know that one Carrington lady said we’re not just going to shut up and dribble no one’s asking you to shut up and dribble I don’t care what you say just don’t be jerks to people that are trying to help buying tickets buying merchandise going to see Caitlyn Clark and the rest of you just don’t do that don’t criticize them I don’t know the last time I heard many many this many NBA players NFL players major league baseball players calling out new fans to the game you know you little kids that have started watching baseball and have a Twitter account you guys don’t know your ass from third base you don’t really hear that the only sport you hear it in is the WNBA and they’re so defensive these women they’re so incredibly defensive that they can’t stand the new kid on the Block they can’t stand somebody getting all of the attention and getting more than that getting all the credit for all the attention now that’s human nature but don’t be criticizing the folks that are trying to help you something gets put in the Chicago Sun Times it’s helpful something gets put in the Indie start it’s helpful Washington Post it’s helpful I like what Angel ree is doing being the heel to Caitlyn Clark I like what Angel Reese is doing strutting herself her fashion just like the NBA guys do the NBA guys come in Miles Turner comes in I don’t know whether he’s a pixie or you know one of the members uh of the Village People I don’t know if he’s going to be the cop today the fireman I don’t know if he’s going to wear a Peter Pan dress and I don’t really care but they’ve taken that they’ve made it a thing so now it’s a fashion show every time all right fine hell if Stephen A Smith can be videotaped coming into the game in a pink sweat uh in a pink suit with sunglasses a guy that scored one point a game if that one point for his career in college and anybody can come in I’m all for all of it give me the whole package but just shut the living hell up and here’s the other thing and I know this is going to offend and I don’t care I have a daughter I have nieces I remember when my daughter was 22 she was a little girl to meet not to you young woman but these are still young ladies little girls in my eyes trying to be something they’re not trying to be International superstars and it’s hard Caitlyn Clark can handle it Angel Reese last year last press conference after the season this year after press coms couldn’t handle it and it’s sad you know the key to life is just be who the hell you are just be who you are I don’t know who Angel ree is and frankly I don’t care but it seems like by being something that she isn’t it’s causing herself a lot of problem hate to say it this way probably catch a lot of hell Angel ree could take a lesson from Caitlyn Clark while everybody around her is losing their freaking mind Caitlyn Clark just stays who she is just be who you are it’s a great way to go about life it’s a wonderful way to wake up every morning and see yourself in the mirror when you’re not who you are oh man now the media is twisting my words be who you are pretty simple Julian Edelman is one of the best things to happen to Media like I don’t know Julian Edelman I think he went to Kent State might have been there when I was at Bowling Green can’t remember but he was really good with the New England Patriots and as I do my nightly scroll through basically everything social media which by the way if you’re looking for me after this show I’m gone because I’ve had enough I’m playing in a massive golf tournament I’m ready even though I got a bad back and frankly I’m turning this thing off except to promote our show but Julian Edelman is great on his podcast hilarious as hell Julian Edelman says well he says what it’s been like to watch Caitlyn Clark grow the game proclaiming he has not seen anything like it since LeBron first entered the NBA and he took a shot like I just took a shot at WNBA players calling out new fans never seen anything quite like this Edelman said since when LeBron came out I timately think it’s the best thing for the WNBA we’re sitting here talking about the WNBA with an NFL football player that’s right that’s exactly right I’m talking about it I live in Indie and I literally went Summers with with the number one Sports Talk Show in the city of Indianapolis and never mentioned the fever not one time two summers ago I did a show every day in the summer did not mention the fever did not know when the season started or ended now it’s daily content don’t bite the hand that feeds you we’re sitting here talking about the WNBA with an NFL football player it’s the best thing that they can have for their league you got your hero Caitlin Clark you got your antagonist Carter I think it’s a great storyline and I think it’s ultimately going to help their league no no no no no let me stop you there it’s not ultimately going to help your league it has helped your league period you know this isn’t something a wave that’s going to reap benefits and rewards in the future this is today up in the rafters last night for the fever against the worst team in the league the mystics no it’s happening now there shouldn’t be they shouldn’t be so against a casual fan that’s coming in and watching this thing and having an opinion welcome to a big league in America that’s exactly what I and saying you want to play in the big leagues well the big leagues come with some responsibility some hardship and it ain’t always peaches and cream see nothing better for a WNBA player than to go through a season and nobody cares you make your money no controversy you can do your lesbian thing you can do your header you can do all the things that women do in the WNBA nobody car now we care now we’re paying attention now a lot of people are saying let me ask you a question must be okay in the WNBA to have sex in the workplace I mean think about it every company in America everyone doesn’t want you to have sex in the workplace they don’t if you’re going to have a relationship you must disclose it Emma said radio one came in we strongly discourage it but if you’re going to go out on a date with somebody you must disclose it Fox ESP PN everywhere I’ve worked you must disclose it hey have you dis well WNBA for years and years and years apparently hell they got people dating each other they got people married to each other they got people engaged to each other and Lord knows if you get my wife two margaritas she’ll tell you the funniest stories about the lesbian culture in college softball anyway that was all good that was all quiet no nobody said a word everybody looked the wrong way and said ah it’s just women’s sports well now wait a second as juliia Edelman said you’re in the big leagues you’re in the big leagues now people are going to question people are going to watch say wait a second that’s great that’s not so great that’s fun that’s ridiculous that’s the way the world Works actually said before the show to Brooke I said man if you read Twitter the whole world is crumbling right before our eyes I’m getting off let’s let’s go back to Edelman but the simple fact that we’re talking about it in a bunch of different fields areas and sports I’m watching the WNBA and I never watched the D WNBA I have a ton of respect for those girls you watch a championship game and stuff it’s a great storyline this is great for their league it’s very similar to the MLS and how messy is when David Beckham came to the MLS he grew that sport this is the best thing they can have going for them that’s right many many years ago and this is where it’s going to be important for the WNBA to take advantage of this many many years ago the most famous athlete in the world a man named p a Brazilian soccer star to this day mammad Ali P you say Ali you know you say p you know P came to professional soccer in the great United States of America sold out crowds everywhere they didn’t take advantage didn’t catch on it didn’t they made the mistake of relying only on one person the others didn’t grow the game and that’s why I like what Angel ree is doing because she’s trying hard and that Cameron Brink lady who by the way suffered in ACL they’re trying hard to establish their own identity along with the star and maybe against the star and that’s all good but the WNBA and the other women the clowns that are still out there swearing cussing calling a straight girl a and everything else they need to remember P didn’t grow the game Messi maybe seems like soccer jumped up David Beckham didn’t grow the game David Beckham came in he had the cute wife the nice hair the tattoos it’s all right but it wasn’t like soccer really take off or has taken off in this country Messi’s made it interesting and you hope soccer’s live learned from the past you hope so excuse me you hope soccer has said wait a second can’t rely on one person everybody has to be involved here that’s what I’ve been saying about the WNBA it’s great to have a rival it’s great to have a bunch of rookies coming in that all think they’re the one but you can’t tear each other down you can’t you can’t be so dumb as to say well she ain’t all that or call her a bit knock her out of you can’t you want to compete like crazy against her hell to the yizzle whatever you want to do great but you got to build the entire sport up look I’ll give you one other back in the day boxing was huge I mean huge and every kid my age and older could tell you and younger could tell you the top 10 boxers in the heavyweight division oh man Ali Ernie Shavers Ron ly of course Joe frasia Chuck Chuck F shot Chuck foran Jo George Foreman I at how high is their butt you need an ass that’s up to the neck you need a high ass that means athlete you ever seen a thorough bread with a pancake ass no how high is their butt do do they have a full beard he should have added at 15 that means they’re not getting any bigger they’re not going to get any uh they’re not going to develop much more they can get stronger you don’t see a bunch of pancake rear guys playing Dave Winfield ass up to here that’s right I’ve been tell and high Cavs all the high Cavs like I look at me you can fold me in half I have no calves and I tell people I’m a guys with medium-sized hands can shoot better big hands oftimes get in the way the greatest high school player in the history of the state of Indiana is a man named George mcginness George played in the NBA won an NBA title with Dr J and Daryl Dawkins and the boys in the early 80s with the Philadelphia 76s he won a couple championships in the old ABA first bidding war George’s hands were so big that he had to shoot one-handed cuz this other hand would get there and it would get in the way Shaq if you ever see Shaq with a basketball it looks like a softball in his hands couldn’t shoot there are a number of things like that now I don’t know about wrist I don’t know whether you’re supposed to have a thin wrist a thick wrist I’ll tell you this much fat kids can shoot I’ll give you another one fat kids if they’re going to play basketball have to have great feet and great hands so this PJ Burns remember him from North Carolina State who was a big fat kid all the announcers were just flabbergasted at his hands and his feet all the announcers were morons if you’re a fat kid playing basketball you cannot play if you don’t have great hands if you don’t have great feet otherwise you’re just a fat kid that’s it you got to there are a bazillion fat kids running around that want to be basketball players but they don’t have great hands and they don’t have great feet they can’t play so if you see a guy playing at that level I guarantee you great hands great feet but I got to tell you something else now I never heard of the wrists I never I never heard of the eye color I would be curious to know what the eye color is that has been batting champ I never heard it never not one time eyes yes I told you about Christmas porzingis I told rillo Ryan rosillo when he had his basketball is Coleman Hawkins I’ve said it last year they won more they got farther and I’ll say it this year the ad and the coach knows well you know this guy won’t guard yeah he scores a lot of points yeah we win against teams we’re supposed to win against because we have more talent but there’s no way we’re beating Yukon with this guy so this guy Coleman Hawkins likes to take shots as he left for $2 million to go to Kansas State Kansas state will be out in the first first weekend of the NCAA tournament they will not get to an elite eight but they will have paid some guy to come from Illinois $2 million he was asked what would happen if Illinois were given another shot to play Yukon he preceded the answer the question by doing what guys that are good enough to get you fir do he blasted Brad Underwood the head coach at Illinois and the coaching staff of Illinois and their game plan for the matchup with Yukan of course it couldn’t be his fault oh God no he followed up by saying Donovan kingan can thank Illinois for making him a top five pick good enough to get you fired you want to hear it you want to see it here it is Coleman Hawkins I still see y’all or view y’all as a team who you know if y’all get another shot at Yukon if you if that team did get another shot at Yukon it might have went a little bit differently not saying the win or loss would have been a different outcome how many 40 minute games would it take for your Illinois team to beat that Yukon team I think uh I think if we play them one other time we would have beat them I think I think if we played them one other half we beat them like um our game plan I mean I’ve talked about this before like I said if like I said my frustration has came in when I’m at the five and the whole point of me being at the five is to create advantages offensively we didn’t create any advantages offensively we were at 23 points or whatever at half I was standing in the corner for a whole half and this is me being real uh I definitely would have switched up our game plan somehow some way um and wouldn’t have been stagnant and just like kind of ran just a high ball screen once again and then like it it’s hard for me because like okay we start running the high ball screen in the second half and I’m picking and popping and now people are yelling at me for punt faking and not shooting a shot but that whole first half I didn’t get a play random me to shoot a shot uh I think the one three-point attempt I had was like a a dribble pullup off off of like a off a screen which was a bad shot and then off of a block shot and I got the ball and shot it like you gota it’s got to be like organic like it can’t be forced like you gotta at least like run a play here and there and that’s that’s kind of where my frustration came in and um I think if we had a half where we truly ran offense and attacked certain certain scenarios and then even some a little bit different defensively uh I think we it would just take us a half I don’t think it take would take 40 minutes sounds a lot better than just driving at Donovan klling for 40 minutes hey man made him into a top five pick so he could thank us hey the flying Ali ey lost by 25 points 7752 Coleman Hawkins went two for five two for 10 one for seven from three lost by 25 points making excuses and blaming coaches good enough to get you fire you know Williams but Monty Williams has been I don’t know awarded rewarded for getting his ass beat the Pistons yesterday fired Monty Williams a year after giving him a contract listen to this that made him at the time the highest paid NBA coach at 15 mil a year don’t feel bad for manty though the Pistons listen to this are going to pay him $65 million how about that the Pistons hire Williams six-year 78 million this year they hired him in June a year ago of 2023 he tied an NBA record with 28 consecutive losses in the middle of the season they finished with the League’s worst record although it ain’t his fault the Pistons listen to this 90 and 290 over the last five seasons easily the worst record but here’s it gets better Monty Williams has also paid 20 million by the Phoenix Suns not the coach so you’re talking about $85 million not the coach now say that again 85 million not to coach I don’t give a damn if that spread out over 85 years but here it gets even better you talk talk about privilege Monty Williams He of the worst record in the NFL a 28 game losing streak said he was blindsided by Tran langon the new general manager of the Pistons blindsided really I got to tell you I lost a lot of games at Bowling Green in a row one year I thought I was getting fired in the middle of it I didn’t give a damn what my ad said I’m like man he was blindsided and he even got better yesterday the clowns talk about privilege on ESPN said he should be up for the Lakers job the Suns fired his ass the Pistons fired his ass he went on a 28 game losing streak and he should be up for
