Finally got out after all this coronavirus mess. It’s been over two months. The season hadn’t really started. Everything before was mostly late winter golf on nicer days.
I played this round with my daughter, so I finally got a chance to have someone record me in the 18Birdies new AI swing analysis. Evan didn’t really get this shot right. I wasn’t aiming straight. I was aiming at a 100 yard marker maybe 20* left of center, so this swing analysis only tells so much. However, the trademark “over the top”/”out to in” is still there, and the shot ended up being a slight pull hook, so it’s a good example of my bad tendancies.
Also, there’s something I’ve been meaning to pay attention to, and that’s keeping my front foot more closed. With that stance, I’m just encouragiing the swing to hit left. Of course, the big issue here is lack of hip rotation. My hips just aren’t firing. I may not ever do that well enough to fix the out-to-in, but the spine angle drill 18Birdies recommended is probably as good of a start as any.
