Celtic north of the Border they’ve only gone and won their 12th Scottish title in 13 years uh as they close in on Rangers magic 55 Simon Celtic now on 54 so you can imagine how nipp and Tuck it’s going to be next season you you would think and of course this was Brendan Rogers back in charge of Celtic having left them to go to Leicester City to return um Chris Sutton had a few comments about that I admire him at the start of the season there were a fair few Celtic fans skeptical about his urner and I understand that because of the way that he left but he was really Brave to come back and courageous to do that because it could have gone wrong this season was it Brave I’ll put that to Simon in a second but Rogers thrilled at the securing of another league title it feels very special obviously every time you you win a league title it it it it feels great but this one definitely feels um something special after everything we’ve been through this season and the challenges that we’ve had and also how we how we finished it because that performance was absolutely incredible I thought the the everything I’d want in a team with technique and speed and power and unpredictability so thought our football was what was immense uh but the hunger in the team and it looked like we were it looked like we were at the beginning of the season and not at the end and uh and that was against a really really good side and Derek’s team who who don’t concede many goals who are so strong but um no just so pleased for the players because uh there’s been a lot of negativity around them this this season and that goes back all the way to August and um but they’ve just stayed with it kept believing so uh so I’m very very proud for them and obviously very very happy for the supporters I’m not surprised last night they did it Simon they did it in style they went to karik and they won 5- nil at karik who have been more than reasonable this season in their own League campaign so Celtic have done it what about Sutton’s comment Simon on Roger he was really Brave to come back courageous to do that because it could have gone wrong this season he’s got a point hasn’t he if that was Clon celebrating last night I’m not sure what Celtic fans would be seeing over Brendan’s return this morning yeah yeah I mean I don’t know whether I’d categorize it as bravery but it certainly had um Jeopardy in in in the um the opportunity that he took to go back to Celtic because he’ set such a high standard previously he’d left him kind of halfway in the Lurch hadn’t he and a lot of Celtic fans were not happy with the fact that decided to depart to Leicester to get back to the Premier League in the middle of a season or before the end of a season and I believe that like lots of people in football Brendan Rogers is in the Brendan Rogers business but there’s nothing wrong with that let’s not let’s not bring it up to something that it’s not is it Brave well I don’t know I don’t think he did a particularly good job at Leicester at the end so I’m not entirely sure how high his stock was won a cup didn’t he well he won a cup the previous season then and the club got relegated on his watch that team got relegated in the season that he was manager and I’m not sure they’ve been entirely grateful for that last contribution because I’m pretty sure they’d prefer to be in the Premier League so yes they did when he went to Leicester city inherited a very good team that had underwhelmed under certain managers and won an FA Cup and the the future looked very Rosy and he did very well but we live in a business of what you’re doing now not what you did in the past and what about now has he rebuilt himself in your eyes he’s always been a capable football manager no doubt about it otherwi he couldn’t go back to Celtic and Rangers win it he could afford that to happen but he was fortunate uh that uh Rangers did their very level best to help Celtic winers well they did didn’t they I mean you don’t expect Rangers to lose to Ross County and draw with dande on two important games right you just don’t and when it comes to it and this is this is where we kind of where odds with Graeme sunis uh who says there hasn’t been much between Celtic Rangers this season it is surely the 40 firm games in the league that count and Celtic one three in the Dre the other that before you come in this was soon as the other day remember last three old firm games you know for me there’s not a lot between them yeah ultimately and it’s it’s not a new thing they’ve drawn 33 and they’ve lost two games 2-1 the last two at parkhead and have’ gone down to 10 men I don’t believe that there there is a big difference between the two teams But ultimately at the start of each season you know you’re going to win the league or lose the league by your all firm results for me they have better Strikers I I don’t I don’t see a gulf in the quality of football to play I think they’re better better goal getters which ultimately does decide games if we go win next week at Hen Park there’s three trophies to win at Scotland they would they would win two out of the three but of course the most important one is the leag and there’s fairness in that argument I mean of course if it was the other side of the equation and Rangers had beaten Celtic three times and uh and drawn the other one and Celtic hadn’t got a look in in any of the games besides the fact the score lines were moderately respectable Graham would say there was a gulf between the two sides yeah because he’s got his Rangers views on things and originally what the discussion that emanated in in an exchange a heated exchange between you and I and Graham was Graham’s assertion two or three weeks ago that it wasn’t actually a defining point if you didn’t beat one another in the uh old firm games and I sort of said well I don’t understand that logic Graham anyway we roll forward and Gram’s argument now is is that Rangers have only lost games by two goals to one and in those games have had players Senter It Off so if they had lost 5-1 the golf would be wider yeah but they lost they didn’t win any of the games exactly so so sometimes you get the luckiest one nil don’t you sometimes some someone to win one nil was a lucky oppos and sometimes someone losing one nil was like a they not got beat 10- nil yeah I didn’t watch all of those games but in the games I watched it was clear to me who was the better side it’s it’s easier for you and I to talk about what he says when he’s not here isn’t it as opposed to him sitting right there but anyway I think we had a point I think we had a point we’ll stick to our point but here’s the thing Simon Celtic when their 12 Scottish title in 13 years somebody mentioned to me last night have they become the Manchester City of Scotland well yes they they are dominant they’re dominant Rangers hope to beat them in the upcoming Cup Final well yes they have 11 12 out 13 because five of those years Rangers weren’t in the league right so they’ve won seven out of eight when Rangers have been participants right which is a dominance but hasn’t it always been such it’s either Rangers or Celtic winning this league and this is the tragedy of the Scottish League and my disappointment with it um about the quality of domestic football in Scott in Scotland and where are the abadines that once upon a time bested Europe where are these wonderful players that came out of Scotland where are these um you know clubs that competed at the highest level where are these television deals and revenues that are going into Scottish Football where are all these things in the days of Ferguson Aberdine and Jim mlan at dund United and great players that are coming out of Scotland from the past where are the sunness is the Hanson the Danny mcgrain the Kenny d gliches and God knows who else we can think of that we’re great Scottish players you get the boot into it do you not because it’s not more competitive I mean so Rod sh last night messages me I’m in Germany hacked off with your pal Simon yeah look at what I’ve written on Instagram so I look at what he’s written in Instagram I’m absolutely sick and tired of constant deriding and disrespect of Scottish Football shown down south especially by one Simon Jordan it’s our game we know it’s not the eepl or La Liga but it’s our game and we love it well that’s fair comment isn’t it he’s from bloody he’s from bloody Highgate for crying out loud listen I only attack Scottish football because it’s a loow hanging fruit which is incidentally what you’d probably find i’ Rod kill if you looked but that’s a different discussion look the bottom line is is you know look look at the message I realize that that Rod is a National Treasure and I suppose nobody wants to offend her National Treasure the flip side of that is I’ve almost got to the point where I want to strangle myself with where Perry’s unfathomably tight trousers that if I have to listen to another story about his private jet what football pitures he’s got and what swimming prob he swims in you see but let’s look at the reality of it why would anyone be talking about Scottish Football he should be thanking me for talking about Scottish Football he actually coming from I he should be supporting Arsenal or Tottenham but you can’t silence people’s views because you don’t like what they say if you get a surveyor around your house right and he tells you there’s a leaky but a leaky roof you don’t chase him down the road and tell him to shut his go because you don’t like what he said you look at the validity of what his points are and go is there any substance behind it is Scottish Football when you look at it the two Scottish clubs the two biggest clubs in Scotland can’t even put fans in their own stadium you’ve got broadcast deal are worth two and six the rest of the domestic league is substandard the two top sides aren’t what they used to be so it needs to be better run better administered does so where is that unfair observation where is that something no but we’ve been saying all wrong you need Rangers fans at Celtic Park you need Celtic fans inside that is a given Rod Stewart in so far as I’m interested in his witterings about football right tells me that I’m being offensive about Scottish Football attack the arguments don’t make it about the person you talk about if you want to talk talk about elocution lessons go get yourself some so you can at least have some vague resemblance of a Scottish bur because as far as I’m concerned I don’t know many Cockney Scots but but there we are I mean he he he he does say one thing soon is pointed out the other day in talk sport if celtico Rangers win the championship with the money that’s dished out by Sky it would be a couple of years before H they would be able to compete there is no doubt about that but it’s not going to happen no it’s not going to happen and but I again I make the point about Scottish football and and you know what my points are he’s saying that people like me he’s fed up with people down south where he lives right criticizing people and criticizing Scottish football and being disrespectful but it’s like an U mentality it’s like burying your head in the sand and God bless him maybe he’s confused himself with Rod Hull doesn’t know who he is but the bottom line is is that my points about Scottish Football is I want it to be better it’s not disrespectful it’s and I’m to tell me where I’m wrong tell me that it’s a it’s a shocking indication of Scottish Football that the two biggest Club in Scot Scotland can’t put fans inside their own stadium it’s a poor example of how competitive the domestic leagues are that nobody beneath Scotland Rangers even make an impression upon the league it’s a poor indication that the broadcast deals and the commerciality of the leagues are worth nothing it’s a poor indication that there’s no real players from Scotland coming out that once look like Graham suis and Kenny dlish what is unfair about that yeah yeah so why don’t you deal with my argument rather than make this an ad homenum on the on the individual yeah silly go away Rod I am with you on that but what I would say is this Simon sing us a song You’re a singer down here for so long I hear people say Scottish football and we we will bounce back and Stuart R myself and many others will say you ever been at an old firm game and the answer almost inevitably is no so when people when people do have a swipe at it get your backside in a train somehow get a ticket go to iooks or Celtic Park and watch the two of them in battle with each other and you will never forget it fantastic but that is not the representation of Scottish Football that is of all the value the abadines all the clubs the actual quality of the domestic football in Scotland it’s like watching a bad rerun of UK gold now people living in the past about what Scottish Football once was yeah but needs to be better is this place up to spec down here points deductions um Manchester City 115 charges but that’s a different arguments is the quality the league is monopolized by Manchester city is hold on you’ve got remarkable comp you’ve got competitivity beyond all scale you’ve got huge Football Club trying to stay in a division you’ve got huge football clubs trying to get into the top four you’ve got huge football clubs trying to win it you’ve got a season going down to its last game and you’ve got a season going down to its defining point of the last game of the season you’ve got teams trying to stay in the league almost of the last game of the seasons you’ve got teams trying to get into Europe until the last game of the season are you kidding me you’ve got more money than God coming into English football than anywhere else in the world yeah please I think there’s more successes and it’s not a north south devis so what’s your message to those who administer Scottish football but I think you should I think it should be better and I think it’s fair game to suggest that it should be better people should be looking to solve the problems not dwell on the past and be offended on and the only time Rod’s popped up is when Celtic won the league well Celtic have won the league and they’ve won their 12 scottage title in 13 years Rangers would try and redress some kind of balance when the two meet at hamen in the Scottish Cup Final so Rod We Salute You Jim White and Simon Jordan Monday to Friday mornings from 10: on a.m. on da via the talk sport app and on your smart speaker talk sport

  1. Rod Stewart you are a singer go and sing a song thatโ€™s what you do โ€ฆ. And Simon was a professional footballer so he knows everything about โ€ฆ. Oh hold on โ€ฆ.. he wasnโ€™t.

  2. The two largest clubs can't even put fans in their stadiums"

  3. Hurting much Simon ๐Ÿ˜‚ Hail the CELTS ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

  4. Well, let's face it, Rod Stewart isn't famous because of his punditry. He should know better than to try to engage in a battle of wits with Simon ๐Ÿคฃ

  5. More money needs to be pump into the SPL. For example there should be enough money that the old firm can spend ยฃ100m each in the summer transfer. The rest Should be able to spend ยฃ70m to ยฃ80m during the summer transfer period. A TV deal like this should be signed for 6 years & if that goes well sign other deal which is bigger after that 6 years.

  6. Simon is total failure in everything he has put his hand to .lost Millions in everything he has tried, if you want your company to go bankrupt employ Simon ..why is he giving opinions on anything . Simon talks about losing heโ€™s British biggest loser at anything and everything

  7. Brendan bodgers left Celtic returned to premiership and failed again. Then returned to Celtic won the league not exactly an achiement as simon could manage Celtic to a league title.

  8. Every scots man i have meet, always get onto how patriotic they are and love scotland and slag off england BUT yet they live in england. very weird.

  9. I am Scottish and our top league is really poor. Can defend it all they want but itโ€™s terrible.

  10. Rod Stewart's point is pretty much right though and in any case as always Simon just opens his big mouth says what he wants ๐Ÿ˜‚

  11. Hail Hail the Celtic and the women Celtic are well Hail Hail ๐Ÿ“ข๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Œ

  12. One club winning 12 of the last 13 titles says it all. Who would want to watch that kind of diluted mess? outside of Celtic supporters.
