With just five weeks remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR heads to the Quad Cities for the John Deer Classic. Jordan Spieth returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2015. Spieth is a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run including in his last appearance nine years ago when he shot a third-round 61. Spieth’s 2013 victory at the John Deere Classic was his first TOUR title. Reigning champion Sepp Straka aims to become the first repeat winner since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-2011. The Austrian is currently 17th in the FedExCup standings and has four top-10 finishes so far this year. Jason Day is another contender with four top-10 finishes in 2024 and returns to TPC Deere Run for the first time since 2011. tracing Technologies brought to you by titlist the number one ball in golf and will this have enough no he’s trying to push it down there yeah he seems to like it all right all right now Jordan just like that after the very aggressive layup yep driving it in the low this a beauty too just underneath the hole really well done for Speed so all three players will have birdie looks here at the second [Applause] okay that one starts up the right not coming back that’s going to catch the right rough I believe J and that’s exceptionally well done actually gets it to chase all the way back to the hole yeah got all the way to pin High Brandon that’s that’s really well done he’s got a good look at birdie now well he it better than I did actually went a little left but beautiful putt for Jordan spe and Jordan pushing it all the way down towards the end of the now Jordan this one looks really good for Jordan on a great line oh yeah Beauty there that’s going to be a good chance for Jordan two in a row oh good job and no doubter for Jordan spe to get to nine under par this one down the right from Jordan caught the trees and they got a nice kick out but it’s still in the rough [Music] Jord oh what a shot Beauty there wow so that get to 10 underp for Jordan [Applause] Speed right in the very center dead center so that’s three in a row I like that Timmy slow putt up the hill left to right oh Jordan spe capturing lightning in a bottle at seven he’s now 11 under par that’s four in a row and he’s just three shots off the lead bow in the air starts down the left side and gets past that bunker that’s going to be perfect just needs to fly just beyond the hole just left of it has settled down spinning back towards the front of the green but it’s going to leave him an uphill po oh it’s looking good he’s 12 under par that’s five in a row and the leaders better not look back because Jordan spe is gaining on him you can’t win the tournament today so sure as heck don’t blow it all right the hottest man on the course is right there Jordan Speed making the turn at the par 510th and he is just coming through the ball beautifully right now finding another Fairway he’s flying all the way to the hole even deep needs to spin oh that go in that may go in my goodness Jordan spe to inches here at the 10th so if you’re just joining us as we just crossed the top of the hour noon in the East 11:00 a.m. local time and Jordan Speed who began the day at six under par the two-time champion here at the John Deere classic just tapped in for his seventh birdie of the day been ready to to aim and fire and it’s it’s been more reactive as this one in the air left of the hole just left of the hole really really good and he was asking for it to be right of of course of course that’s exactly how you do it so Jordan SP eight under a little bit easier on himself if he’s got uh any aspirations of taking down the hardware it’s up the left side as well could be really good wow I think it’s good Mikey you think it’s good we know it’s good better than good it’s great yeah just 232 for spe and this pin cut all the way on that back left shelf tell you what guys if he can get this ball all the way back there I’ll be very impressed he’s heading up center of the green and we just fall down to that lower level wonderful long line there by Jordan two back see if he can get it to the hole in there oh come [Applause] on Wow you think all the folks in the gallery should start jumping up and down for that one there Matt get this ground to move and get that ball to drop I’m telling you he would have blew the lid off this place if that if that fell just one one roll short and watch this ball we’re going to have another look at this and look at the End of the Roll here as the ball approaches the cup as it comes to a stop it takes Just A Little Fall backwards chance to finish at 15 under par yes H location at 18 difficult to get close to it’s on the very right side of the [Music] screen start of the today at 6 now at 14 and a 63 it is for Jordan spe our two-time Champion in 2013 2015 you expressed some frustration about your day but you also felt pretty confident you’d be able to turn things around this week you did that today how were you able to do that yeah we had prime scoring conditions for sure it was a beautiful morning out here um and I got off to a great start uh but you know realizing the average score was going to be four or maybe 5 under um you know and I needed to make up a lot of ground I needed something special and you the front nine was was really fun and um hit a little bit of a I hit a bad couple bad wedges um on the back or it could have been um something special but um all in all my goal for the weekend was to try to shoot 14 under on the weekend and um you know I got off to a good start doing that yeah around the 63 today your lowest so far this season what was the difference today I made some putts um you know I I certainly I drove it the way I’ve been driving it um I hit some you know some really good approach shots yesterday and today those were a couple of my better approach rounds um in a while and then you know I rolled in a few mid-rangers and sometimes I saw one lip in on Two And so the hole just started to look a little big after that um if that one lips out you know sometimes it starts to look smaller so you just need a break every once in a while to maybe Kickstart things so it was really nice to see some go in today you made a nice move of the leaderboard today given what you achieved today what do you think it’s going to take tomorrow to give yourself a chance I don’t know um you know i’ I’d like to think um I’d like to think 22 under has a chance just looking at you know a trend of of kind of how the day started today with those leaders and what could happen tomorrow but um I won from six back thinking it wasn’t going to be enough and I guess you just never know these last few holes so um you know I’m not sure I’ll have a score in mind tomorrow I still have that kind of goal of wanting to get to 20 under but um you know I’ll see how getable the golf course is and go from there you came here looking for some magic you found a little bit of it here today great plan thank you thanks for watching the PG Tour on YouTube to watch more click here to subscribe click here

  1. I wouldn't get too excited by the time Sunday afternoon rolls around who probably be tied for 42nd again or maybe he. Won't make the cut but it doesn't matter he has one anything? He is an absolute pitiful player anymore so the other reason these probably playing good is because they're. Aren't any other great players playing pop 20? 5 or soul are not even in this tournament he. Usually? Does? Better when nobody shows up. I have all the faith in the world. He'll never win this.

  2. Love how Jordan Spieth is 7 strokes back, not even remotely in contention for Sunday, and the PGA is still hyping him over the five people who actually deserve it 🤔

  3. The talent is still there. Jordan is TOO much in his own head. After posting a 63 and still showing frustration shows mentally he has a long way to go to be the Jordan of old.

  4. great watch today! could have easily been 10 under if not for a couple mental lapses from 100 yrds out in the middle of the fairway.
