With just five weeks remaining before the FedExCup Playoffs, the PGA TOUR heads to the Quad Cities for the John Deer Classic. Jordan Spieth returns to the John Deere Classic for the first time since 2015. Spieth is a two-time winner at TPC Deere Run including in his last appearance nine years ago when he shot a third-round 61. Spieth’s 2013 victory at the John Deere Classic was his first TOUR title. Reigning champion Sepp Straka aims to become the first repeat winner since Steve Stricker won three in a row from 2009-2011. The Austrian is currently 17th in the FedExCup standings and has four top-10 finishes so far this year. Jason Day is another contender with four top-10 finishes in 2024 and returns to TPC Deere Run for the first time since 2011. Day has never missed the cut at the John Deere Classic in five appearances, with his best finish (T15) coming in back-to-back years, 2009-10. Other names to look out for this week include Sungjae Im, J.T. Poston, Jake Knapp, Aaron Rai and Joel Dahmen.

chase all the way back to the hole yeah got all the way to pin High Brandon that’s that’s really well done he’s got a good look at birdie now Birdie the second so he’s one under through three this at the fourth good birdie at a tough fourth hole middle of Fairway little s off little wet shot driving it in there low controlling the spin right there beautiful shot oh good job and no doubter for Jordan spe to get to nine under so back to back at four and five and the Run was on this at the six hoisting it up John really kind of out of position with his t- shot right rough front right hole location but not from Jordan Speed just hit some parachute ball in there right in the very Santa dead center so that’s three in a row I like that Timmy slow putt up the hill left to right oh Jordan Speed capturing lightning in a bottle at seven he’s now 11 under par that’s four in a row and he’s just three shots off the lead oh it’s looking good he’s 12 under par that’s five in a row and the leaders better not look back because Jordan spe is gaining on [Applause] him he’s flying all the way to the hole even deep needs to spin oh that may go in that may go in my goodness Jordan spe to inches here at the [Applause] 10th of course of course that’s exactly how you do it so Jordan SP one of the other big stories this week this man right here Luke should I say this kid right here Luke Clinton the amateur out of Florida State and that is how you start a third round and he said I’m just trying to have fun this the second to last group what in there Davis we’ve seen so many slide to the right here and that one just hung on so Thompson and opening birdie to get to one back moments ago this final group off and running in this third round at the John Deere classic Aaron Ry a flusher middle of the Fairway and this is a tone Setter how good is this iron G nearly jars it rwood birdie and pan has been rolling it beautifully this week birdie birdie start for these two guys they’re co-leaders once again at 15 under par oh hello look out did have a chance to go in yep center cut nothing but net three out of the first four back going in the fifth David Thompson went birdie birdie down one and two out of the bunker finds a birdie at Five Short sided too struggled on this hole as well yesterday finishing up kind of got it settled back in see he’s going to use some slope or just hold it right there with spin he’s going to use some slope as well oh this is going to get really good well played I love this whole location two backs see if he can get it to the oh oh come the lid off this place if that if that fell just one one roll short Davis Thompson got very fortunate kind of rattled off the trees a kick left into Fairway now just 109 yards that’s our trackman Tracer technology and that’s tracing towards the hole should come off the slope yeah a lot of ways to get it close there Jim and SL perfect yeah four out of the last six uh events of top 17s including a ninth at the US Open another good week this week played a shot into that rough in between those Banks of Fairways JJ spawn second at 11 spawn close excellent shot another par three the first one the backside par three 12th JJ spawn 4 under on the round 191 yards today front right hole location and what a nice golf shot for JJ needs it spawn all right CT pan now for birdie got to have one birdie here at the six don’t we you would think so oh he’s walking it in oh absolutely nice putt CT get him into a three-way tie at the lead at the 12th JJ spawn to get to 15 under he’d be solo fifth one back that nice t- shot in there takes advantage of the the par three for birdie in the lead got it why not so a nice birdie there and that takes him out of that tie five birdies in the first eight holes that’s getting her done and Frank I would call this the real strength of his Arsenal or it spins oh man wonderful control of trajectory and spin there now at 15 JJ spawn has a chance for his seventh birdie of the day this looks good he’s got it so JJ spawn middle right hole location gave himself a darn good angle here 147 to the hole uses the back stop that’s a winner just a sandwich from 102 driving in really low this looks good oh how about it Frank oh had some zip on it yeah the equipment is so good agnostic tools CT pant he makes his four as well now we have two tide at the top and here’s Davis Thompson our co-leader at the par 312 that is seven iron painting the flag stick he does a lot of that Mark what a shot man that is a work of art Hayden Springer the man that shot 59 one more roll B away he was 11 under Sorry’s 15 under as we go up to 13 and Thompson oh what a three especially after being in the divid hole maintain the knee Flex must accelerate and the spine angle just like that just like that and the third for Luke Clanton after a 345 yd drive just a little aggressive with the second and oh it goes in a little aggressive with the third Amateur hour like Ian Baker Finch back in his prime yeah in the old days come on now what a call bottom of the cup for it’s got his attention it’s aggressive it’s spectacular oh my [Applause] [Applause] goodness and that was an eagle three for Eric Cole it’s been pting will old day for a two- shot lead absolutely what a four look like four all day long all day [Applause] long that’s a big shot right there it almost goes in couple of fantastic shots for CT pan here at the last two [Applause] holes oh how pure is that r wow so for the second straight week Aaron Ry will be in the final grouping on Sunday came up short at the rocket mortgage classic we’ll see what happens tomorrow for Ry played great today no doubt about it so did Eric Cole Aaron Ry that’ll be the three in the final grouping tomorrow for the
