Hayden producing some real fireworks here on the 4th of July an opening round of 59 your first time shooting 59 how would you describe the round today it’s kind of I mean unexpected in a way and then you know like just kind of uh kind of special like making that you know holding out on 17 to to even have a chance was unexpected and um you know but I I don’t know how many other you know I’ve not really had a chance to do this and then I don’t know how many times it’s going to come along in the future so to be able to to pull it off today is pretty special that hole out on 17 one of two Eagles that you had on the day you got off to strong start going out in 27 what was behind the hot start to the round uh I mean it just seems like I I made everything I looked at on the front um I kind of got got a stretch going from like two to 7 2 to six I just made like it was seemed like 15 to 20 footer U on every hole um so it just kind of got hot and and tried to keep it rolling you’ve gotten hot in recent weeks coming off your second top 10 of the Season just last week what’s come together for your game uh you know just been trying to to practice uh practice a little smarter and and manage my time and energy a little better but um also was able to go back and see an old coach of mine that helped me um tremendously just kind of get back to some stuff that we know works and um it’s starting to pay off it absolutely did congratulations opening round of 59 where to go Hayden thank you what a start for Hayden Springer tying the tournament record referenced the fact Paul goo shooting 59 in 2010 at the John Deere classic that also happened in the opening round and it’s just good enough to match the lowest round on the PGA tour this season Cameron Young shooting 59 at hardford just a couple of weeks ago that was on Saturday and ship you just heard Amy talk to Hayden Springer that he’s coming off a tie for 10th at the rocket mortgage playing well again seeing an Old Coach maybe rekindling some good thoughts and all this is happening after missing six straight cuts moving in how do things change so quickly in a positive direction for someone like Hayden Springer well two things you know there’s so many times where as players we get off track we get away from things that that worked in the past and we don’t even realize how far away from the station we get so practicing probably some old habits that he was doing uh getting back into those good memories and good feels uh and then compounding some good play tied for 10th last week in fact he was 148th in the FedEx Cup Standing so you’re sitting there with a a short time to run and you got to run really really quick uh to try to make a run to get into the playoffs now top 70 he he went from 148th to 127th coming into this week in the FedEx Cup standings so another if he can keep this string going and hopefully you know have a chance to win this tournament then he doesn’t have to worry about playoffs and all those good things but again it’s always a changing of some habits that you you you again you get away from things that have worked and we all do it it is so frustrating I don’t know why we do it it’s in our DNA as golfers but it’s often an Old Coach that can remind you hey let’s look at some old film of some things you were doing and by the way you used to practice this and you’re you’re not really spending your time that way anymore and I always always tell players it’s how you practice is how you play so uh getting in some good practice habits paying off for him the last two weeks we’ll see if he canot be Paul guos who shot 59 here and did did not go on to win we’ll see if he can parlay this into three more good rounds yeah certainly a great start for Hayden Springer we’ll see how it plays out come the weekend here in silvest Illinois
