okay I’m really excited about testing these items today Vice golf now Vice have been known for making really good premium golf balls for many years now and I’ve reviewed them on my channel before been very impressed in fact they’ve really kind of spearheaded this direct to Consumer ball market and they’ve absolutely smashed it loyal fan base cool fan base and now they are diving into the world of making golf clubs so on the hit Channel you’re going to see me reviewing the brand new irons the wedges and the putters coming soon there is also down the line maybe later this year Woods Fairway Woods drivers coming out as well now in this bag I’ve actually got the brand new VG io2 these are the cavity back irons the ones that are designed for the everyday golfer I’ve also got a set which is in the other bag over there but I’ve put in one of the clubs here vgi 01 these look incredible I’ll do a separate video on those but let’s kick this review off with the brand new vgi O2 obviously standing for vice golf iron O2 okay let’s talk looks first they’re a good looking set of irons they really are Vice do a great job of their branding the packaging again they kind of quite quirky with their designs and it’s Blended so nicely into the iron set as well it’s a kind of hollow headed Club design and just on this back Ridge here you’ve almost if you look down at a golf course and almost take a topology view of all the hills and the undulations they’ve actually Incorporated that into this back Edge apart from that it’s very clean you’ve got Vice golfing block letters not their traditional logo and then just a very simple number on the bottom little bit more text on the huzzle where it actually says the model number and uh German engineering well we all know how good Germans are at engineering they Precision is always so well regarded right let’s hit a shot and then we’ll talk a little bit more about the technology this is a 79 I’ve got in my hand it’s 29° this is my first ever shot with the brand new Vice irons okay looking down at the ball nice head shape all right let’s [Music] go that’s not a b opening shot super honestly there I actually caught that a little bit thin that was a little bit off the bottom Groove but it’s done exactly what I wanted it to do felt good but I know it can feel better if I hit the middle that’s a pretty decent shot for a Mis strike okay so before we hit some more let’s talk a bit more about technology this is a two-piece cast head with hollow body and high rebound face material so it’s very much kind of in that market of like tail made p790 we’ve also just tested recently Kirkland Signature irons which actually I think we’ve put back in the store room that had a very similar model as well this hollow head design for this kind of player more forgiving iron is definitely a huge Trend at the moment that Vice have also jumped onto as well there’s a low offset and slight weight shift towards the heel to increase the closure rate so effectively helping golfers square that face up getting it to rotate a little bit more again if you fade it or slice it that’s to help with that and also very light heads to help increase swing speed apparently you light to the you can swing it faster and vice have been working with Europe’s biggest fitting facility hole in one they’ve trapped loads thousands and thousands of shots and they’ve used that data to design these clubs these aren’t designed for tour players even the bladed irons aren’t designed with Tor Pros in mind they’re designed for everyday golfers which I think is a huge win as well I’ll come on Sur price in a little bit let’s hit some more shots [Music] that’s a really nice strike middle of the green yeah that’s the right amount of distance I’d expect for a 29° 7 iron that was a little bit more from the toe I mean a solid hit that wasn’t a good strike I wonder if that little bit of extra closure that face closure helped just with a bit more speed there cuz that was a poor strike I expected that to finish short of the green [Music] they’ve actually done really well considering I’ve not strucken that well just yet feel Wise It’s hard to judge just yet soz again I don’t feel like I’ve really hit one in the middle they don’t feel super soft like you can tell it’s a cast ir and you can tell it kind of you’re getting a a real thump off the head I want to find that middle spot to see see what it feels like oh there she is there’s the middle that’s the strike so that little bit of extra distance there I got as well just from strike in the middle I carried 183 yards it’s good I like it I was I don’t know I was maybe expecting a slightly softer feel I’m not sure why maybe the looks it may it kind of looks like a soft iron um that was a really satisfying strike though that was right in the middle and felt really solid now pricewise I want to come on to that visce are branded themselves as cheaper but not cheap so effectively a set of these irons for seven irons is $980 for seven irons at the moment they only make five irons down to Sand Wedge there’s no four iron I think for most golfers five iron to Sand Wedge is perfect I feel like I’m really testing every part of the iron here today but every time it seems to be doing good that was another poor strike but it’s on the green out out the shots I’ve hit so far today I’ve not I’ve middled a couple but I’ve actually hit quite a few of them off the toe or the bottom of the club let’s go one more I’m going to find the middle on this one absolutely rifle [Music] it again I thought in my head then the way I hit it I thought it was going to go miles left the fact it hung onto the edge of the green again I I take that take that as a victory cuz that was a bad strike we go one more there’s the middle again instant as soon as you strike the middle you know solid really solid there with the 79 right let’s jump to the we’ll go pitching wedge next 44° of Loft actually quite an interesting difference in head shape here the head shape in general like the bottom Edge has got a little bit of roundness to it and then the actual pitching wedge looks quite rounded the heel it really really pinches in at the heel like that that that’s a very small section and it gets quite long in the toe I like the design I do I think it look really good it’s just different to iron I can’t it’s not like I can say it looks like a du du cuz it doesn’t it looks like its own Iron its own identity nice grips as well I forgot to mention that before the Lampkin these are Lampkin standard and there are ways of been able to customize these irons so here I’ve got the black Iron which is just this black line at the back if you look on the bladed irons I’ll show you an image here you can get loads of different colors like once you actually order them you can change which color you want in that kind of detail I mean I do like the black to be fair it looks really nice right so I’ve put the flag out at 140 yards which might be a tiny bit ambitious should get to the front edge of that green at least that was nice that was really nice nice comfortably got there never in doubt very nice let’s see if we can stick one really close tiny bit laky however put for birdie Gra this one’s going to go close I’m liking the clubs I am again I’m not and I just need to almost manage my own expectation levels here I I feel looks wise like they look like they should be uh softer but they’re not super soft another interesting point as well the Box they arrived in it’s quite cool actually it says on it Wonder kind um and I believe the definition of that is like an ex um someone who is young but he already exceptional I think that describes this brand pretty well like certainly the iron market like these are so young in its infancy Vice golf yeah already [Music] exceptional I mean all safely on the green I wouldn’t say absolutely flush the pin but that’s more on me than the club nice let’s go to the longest iron next the five iron okay this is quite an interesting in document as well it came in the Box the 10 commandments of Vice golf clubs the six dos and four don’ts um do use head covers for Putters at all times do clean balls of dirt before playing what are the doubts don’t lean on your golf club uhoh right at the bottom it says we don’t offer Mulligans for poorly maintained clubs well that’s fair right five iron in hand um which is 21.5 de I’m probably going to put the flag maybe probably 210 actually 210 would probably be good so far I don’t think I’ve actually missed the green if I have it’s only just be on the Edge Let’s see what the five irine does SP too early har get that ball that’s noty come on that was such a bad strike I was stood over that ball thinking to myself then why have I just said that why have I said that I’ve not missed the green yet I might take went out of the numbers at the end cuz that was a terrible strike right concentrate R there’s a couple of those that I’ve hit that have honestly been right in the toe of the club but look at that as a result but that was so far from the toe yet it’s still carried 197 and it’s still gone on the green there I feel know I feel like something in that idea that the that the toe is catching up it feels like it’s got a bit more kick in it cuz I don’t I wouldn’t have expected that from from a from another uh iron then the fear is that one on my fear is it’s going to go left it’s actually not that far left is it really isn’t don’t feel like I mean I’m testing this five IR so it’s full capability of it every every part of the face so far by the middle let’s try and find one right in the middle spot please I’m I’m obviously hitting it badly so you guys can see like the full cap abilities of this golf club you realize that okay it’s not me I could hit the middle if I wanted to hit the middle this one I will hit the middle oh there there it is it I I can almost say it as I’m literally striking the ball the middle is so defined with these irons really nice shot that was much better that’s so that’s what we can do all parts of the face 209 y carry Straight in the middle of the face of the five iron very good numbers let’s do that [Music] again they offer a really nice forgiveness can’t wait to test the vgi 01 these are good I really like these a lot S one more I’ll pull up the numbers oh that’s sweet that is sweet as a nut do that every time please Rick just do that okay I’ve got to say I’m impressed really impressed he’s a brand new like Vice have never made clubs before and they and they’ve produced this set it’s very good it’s very impressive right 79 numbers I was carrying out 176 yards with 5,400 spin a little bit low on spin but quite high in height so the ball’s still going to stop and again it’s a 29° 79 so is strong lofted the pitching wedge was carrying on average 136 with 8 half RPM spin nice numbers the five R you saw I hit that one first one really Scrappy I took that one out of the numbers cuz I didn’t that was a fair number but then I didn’t absolutely button every one of them the ones I hit really well carried about 208 209 yards however on average it carried at 2011 yards again solid well done Vice well done made a very very impressive first set of clubs and if this is the first set I can’t wait to see what comes next
