okay guys so one of the easiest ways to manipulate your path and your attack angle one way or the other so you can think of it as in manipulating your swing direction is the amount of hand depth you have in the golf swing now people probably hear this term a lot and don’t necessarily understand what it is think of if I’m just standing here and I’m squared up to the golf ball the deeper my hands get in the back swing or the more inside they get the more my swing direction will move in my case to the right as a righty which implies my path will get more inside out but my attack angle will also get shallower so my low Point moves back so if I’m somebody who hits two down and across this golf ball well if I take the exact same golfer and I just get their hands more inside well they will be shallower with their attack angle their path will also get more inside out so getting the hands deeper would help a lot of slicers well the opposite is also true if you hook the ball too much if you stand here over the golf ball and you are coming way too far from the inside and you’re way too shallow through the turf and everything is this big sweeping draw and you want to start to straighten it out and hit a little bit more down on the ball you take that exact same golfer and you remove some amount of hand depth so in this case you can get their hands a little higher and More in front of them well they will hit more down on the ball and less from the inside oftentimes I’ll see golfers who rotate really well through the ball but they’re always hitting hooks well it’s because their hands are stuck behind them and the club is too shallow in those cases you need the hands more in front of them to get the club more in front of them so just taking their back swing and removing some hand depth could be a very easy solution for them opposite again is also true golfers who slice the ball a lot you’ll see them have very poor hip turn in the back swing you’ll see them have very little hand depth in the back swing if you just take them and in some cases load them deeper or in some cases just get their hands more behind them at the top of the back swing that flattens out their arm plane well guess what that will get the path a little bit more inside out and it’ll shallow the attack angle so you’re not taking craters out of the earth when you’re on the golf course right so Hand depth is such an easy thing to manipulate oftentimes I’ll manipulate it more through the back swing rather than trying to manipulate the hands differently on the way down sometimes you might need to but in most cases you don’t so if you just take the hands and manipulate where they are at the top of the back swing and then have the same organic feels on the way down you can either shallow a player out or get them unstuck and steepen them out a little bit uh very easily so play around with your hand depth it’s such an easy way to manipulate the ball okay

  1. Exactly. Everyone is so obsessed with the straight down the line take away, and then trying to shallow. Why not just do what you’re saying? I did this instinctively.
