in my hands I have all four of mizuno’s top current players iron models and in today’s video we’re putting them all to the test with the end goal of building out the ultimate combo iron set so let’s get right into [Music] it right guys so we are back with yet another ultimate combo set video and I’m not going to lie this one might just be the most exciting of the entire series now if you haven’t seen my review of the Mauna Pro 240 series I’ll link it in the description below I was unbelievably impressed with those irons and I have been dreaming about how I would build out the ultimate combo set ever since that being said the day has finally come where we are testing out four yes four different Muno players irons and building out the ultimate combo iron set so what we have in hand to test today the Mauna Pro 241 in our short to Mid irons the Muna pro 243 in our mid to Long irons the jpx 923 tour in our mid to Long irons and then the Muno Pro 245 in our longer clubs now since I’ve already decided I would play a 2418 through pitching wedge I don’t want to waste time testing those so the way we’re going to work through this is we’re going to start at the seven iron and then test the different clubs as they overlap down the set from there I’ll talk you guys through the differences I’m seeing and hopefully by the end of this video you have a good idea how each of these models performs and how you could build out the best combo set for your game last couple of things I want to add all of these irons are spec Loft and shaft match to ensure that we’re delivering to you the most Fair testing possible and we’re going to be doing this testing on grass using GC quad to see how these all stack up in real world conditions all that being said we’re out here on the driving range now so let’s get into testing all righty guys so I am all warmed up and the way we’re going to work through this testing is we’re going to start with seven irons then six irons then five irons and then finally we’ll end with the 245 4 iron now the seven iron we’re going to start with today is the Muno Pro 241 their signature blade if you guys saw the 240 series video I was a huge fan of these I think that extra bounce on these over the 221 make them a lot more playable than those irons and so I’ll be very interested to see how they stack up against the 923 tour and the 243 taking a look down at this thing I mean it’s just a phenomenal blade shape I’m a bit of a blade junkie and these look awesome to me very minimal offset little bit softer shape like mauno is known for few full ones to start little thin there but really good numbers 123 176 6,400 178 launch 124 172 158 7900 little bit of debris on the face which is why I think the spin went up there yeah and that’s one there where I feel like I bottomed a little bit early but I just didn’t High face it and that’s what I really like with irons I want to catch them low on the face of anything I really like the added bounce of these 241s that’s what they’re doing for me we’ll move into a flighted one now that one right there 176 126 184 7300 once again got really Steep and it just didn’t dig on me really really solid from a bounce perspective can’t say enough good things about it 124 175 151 so a little a little bit lower 7,000 spin we’ll go cut here and then draw trying to cut there’s a lot of wind out of the right which is not helping me but on the quad it says a cut 7,800 so I love the spin one up 175 170 123 now big draw kind of a nice big medium flight sort of hook there really good spin lower 5900 138 launch 183 carry 127 I mean I don’t think there’s much else you could ask for in terms of numbers I really feel like I can do pretty much anything with these 241s but the next Iron we’re going to go ahead and move up into is the 243 so obviously the bigger brother will say to the 241 another iron I was super impressed with during my original testing and one I am very excited to hit taking a look down at it I mean once again it’s a great shape maybe a slightly thicker Top Line than the 241 a little bit more offset but it looks very good and immediately for me that’s a little thin one and it just didn’t feel quite as harsh as the 241 number wise faster ball speed 127 180 carry 151 6,800 so that’s what you’re getting out of an iron like this just a little bit of help over something like a 241 that was insanely thin and still 125 ball 179 carry 62004 launch so I mean that still got up in the air with plenty of ball speed and that’s a good flusher to kind of end on 127 183 6200 17 launch so little bit higher launch little bit lower spin little bit faster ball speed kind of exactly what you would expect all right now we’ll go a flighted one with the 243 again got steep didn’t dig on me and that is far 129 ball 189 carry 5500 15 launch so lower spin faster ball speed I mean just kind of stays consistent with what we saw in the Fuller shots it’ll be interesting to see if I go to cut this I wonder if the spin maybe will be a little bit too low now that felt pretty easy to cut and the spin what up 8,400 I caught that a little bit in the face which is why the spin is a little bit higher 59 122 167 so let’s see if we can hit a big hook here eh little bit low in the face again I mean you keep hearing me say that the bounce on these is definitely something to not they’re just a little bit higher bounce which I do love I think some people are going to love it some people might hate it I like it a lot 127 182 5600 12 launch it’s a good iron I don’t think it would suit me personally just cuz I don’t really need the extra ball speed or the height but if you’re somebody who is looking for that in a seven iron that’s where this is going to be really really helpful moving up into the next Club the jpx 9923 t7 iron taking a look down at this thing so shaping wise a little bit sharper lines I would say than the 241 and the 243 the biggest thing I’m noticing on this the offset there’s definitely a little bit more offset in this than the other two all right got on top of that and pulled it not a great swing but that felt amazing that felt really really good 127 182 big draw 79 launch 6200 spin M little chunky just a hair but still really good 128 177 157 7800 the thing for me that does throw me off is just the offset it’s not my favorite thing but aside from that I mean the feels really good actually I think maybe a touch softer than those which I think when I first reviewed these I didn’t I didn’t think they were crazy soft hitting these again out here they are actually very very soft yeah and it just gets into the ground a little bit quicker than those I think maybe a touch less bounce than those at least that’s what it feels like 125 173 7800 16 launch I would say forgiveness wise it feels like it’s very in between those two irons it’s just going to come down to Preferred look and then you know really what you need from a bounce perspective I think we’ll go flighted here man you can maneuver this thing I mean that’s lower for sure 146 127 180 6900 cut draw here very workable I mean you definitely need to keep your hands a little bit more in front because of the offset 123 165 185 9,000 spin a little bit High there probably golf ball go a big draw here not a huge draw but not bad 12 125 174 7,000 I mean numbers are right in line with where I would expect it’s a solid iron all righty guys that was the seven irons I think I’m leaning towards 241 I actually love the performance of the 923 tour it’s just the offset I don’t love but nonetheless let’s go ahead and get into the six irons again we’ll start with the Muna Pro 241 blade so taking a look down at this thing I mean as you get into the six iron this is a beautiful Golf Club but definitely starting to feel it in terms of you know just not a big head it doesn’t look super forgiving not the most comfortable look down at a dress start with some full ones once again really good man I mean I love the added bounce I really do 131 191 5800 152 launch those are amazing numbers it’s just this thing it looks so much less forgiving than it actually is 133 192 151 6200 from a height perspective from a ball speed perspective I really absolutely am just over the moon about that we’ll go one more full one little thin there but again really good 131 193 157 5600 what I love about these is when you low face them they don’t spin up they’re really staying in an amazing spin window so when you get a little bit less ball speed because the spin kind of stays down they still go the number that you’re kind of expecting or close to the number it’s really really good we’ll go cut now 128 181 175 6700 freaking love that man all right bigger draw now once again got steep just didn’t dig 136 195 121 6200 I mean what is there not to love about these these might be some of my favorite mauno blades I have ever hit in my lifetime nonetheless guys we’re going to go ahead and move up in to the 243s this exciting me because you know like I said this is a kind of spot in the bag where you do maybe want to start to get a little bit of help be very curious to see what these 243s do for us taking a look down at this thing once again little thicker Topline slightly bigger head a little bit more offset but still looks really really good not enough offset on this to complain and because you’re bending them weak to hit the Lofts I’m looking for that’s why the offset looks really good very nice feels hotter than the 241 just slightly it’s not like it’s coming off like a rocket but it just feels like it has a little bit more Heat ball speed says the same story 13 5 192 144 6800 spin probably golf ball in terms of the spin rate oh man these are super nice 134 196 5900 149 you can just tell when hitting these they’re slightly more helpful but there’s something about hitting those blades that is amazing that’s the question is once you get on of the golf course you know do you need the extra help out here it doesn’t really seem like I need it but definitely more time spent on the golf course would give you a really really good idea I mean this thing is just super helpful cuz I wouldn’t say I striped any of those three they were all solid not striped and 133 198 147 5300 I mean maybe a little bit less consistent cuz of construction but you know once you get down to a 6 iron you’re not throwing darts from 200 yards 195 yards you’re just trying to get it within you know I’d say 3 to 5 yards of the number 5 yards would be very solid I mean that’s probably above PJ tour average honestly we’ll go cut now solid definitely this plays with more balance than the 241 that did not get quite as far into the ground as the 241 but awesome numbers 186 16 131 6800 I mean this simply goes further than the 241 if you need that extra help you don’t quite hit it out of the center every single time this is just super helpful from that perspective because I feel like it doesn’t really matter where I’m hitting this on the face I’m never losing more than a couple yards we’ll go big draw now you can do it 136 203 116 4900 different than the 241s but the performance is just amazing just depends what you’re looking for man I don’t feel like the 241 is add on forgiving but you know it really just depends how many are you Mish hitting can you hit 7 out of 10 good 6 out of 10 good if you can do that I think the 241 is fine if you’re taking the 241 and you’re maybe only hitting like three or four good out of 10 then it’s probably worth moving up into the 243 that’s kind of how I look at it and unfortunately for me I feel like I’m right in that middle ground where I’m not quite sure yet but nonetheless we’re going to hit the jpx 923 tour this might be the perfect Middle Ground between these iron taking a look at it again a little bit of a straighter shape looks really good offset on this actually to me looks better than the seven iron I think this is Blended better let’s see what we got numbers wise feels really good once again little thin there still good feel 128 186 154 5900 pretty happy with those numbers that was not a great swing there kind of left the face open but really good numbers I thought that that would be a lot shorter carry maybe like 181 it was 191 131 ball 165 launch 5900 spin that’s where I think this could be an awesome iron a really nice Middle Ground between the 243 and the 241 132 189 155 6700 I mean I got to be honest with you guys I am really heavily considering this between these three just because I feel like I can miss it a little bit which is nice over the 241 but I don’t know if I need to quite make the jump to the 243 yet ah not a great swing got way on top of that numbers 132 197 156 5000 that’s completely on me there cut draw then down to the five irons again just doesn’t quite feel like it plays with as much bounce as those two but solid 129 180 167 7300 big draw now really good 134 198 136 5200 the only thing that makes me not quite sold on this yet is the offet it just feels maybe like it has a little too much it looks a lot better than the six and the seven maybe just a little bit too much let’s go ahead and move over to the five irons now really quickly guys couple things I want to add before we get back to our testing first and foremost painter golf shoes these are the most comfortable best golf shoes I’ve ever worn they’ve been a huge supporter of the channel ever since we started and I absolutely love them if you want to grab a pair use code tej and it will give you a little bit of a discount second of all we are out here at the beautiful keer La Golf Club they are allowing us to be out here filming this summer it is honestly one of my favorite golf courses not just in Chicago but frankly in the country I love it every time I play it huge shout out to them let’s get back to our testing right guys so now we’re going to go ahead and move up to the five irons we have the 243 the 923 tour and then the 245 so we’ll start with the 243 and then we’ll go 923 tour and then 245 so taking a look down at this thing looks really good there is definitely a hair of offset as you get down into this five iron but shaping wise again really good slightly thicker Top Line than the 241 just to me looks a little bit more forgiving than a 241 would probably look in the 5 iron oh yeah this is super nice I love the slight extra amount of juice you can feel on this over the 241 I wasn’t quite sold on the 2436 iron cuz it did feel maybe a little hot but this thing feels amazing it’s really exactly what I want to feel when I get down to a five iron it’s just a little bit of extra help it’s not doing all the work for me but I know I can miss it and get away with it 138 ball 2011 137 6000 spin a little bit High spin there it’s probably golf ball but ball speeds right in the window I’m looking for superb 138 211 138 4500 amazing numbers I’m lowkey already sold on this thing it’s slightly nicer in this five than the six at least for me Turf interaction is so good on these it really is I cannot emphasize that enough cuz I bottomed out a little early there and the numbers are awesome 138 207 136 5,000 this is a super iron but that being said guys we’re going to hit the other two we’re going to see what the numbers look like and just see what happens take a look down at this jpx 923 T 5 iron this looks really good I want to say similar offset to the 243 again it’s it’s a slightly maybe straighter head in terms of the lines not much I mean it’s it’s close but maybe just a little bit straighter lines on this thinner top line for sure definitely does not look quite as forgiving as the 243 but you know what man I don’t think mauno really ever misses on the shapes maybe the offset from time to time but the shapes are always just beautiful elegant is the best way I would put it yeah and that’s a thin one like one of the ones I hit with the 243 and it just it feels harsher not quite as forgiving still solid numbers 13 133 198 4900 but yeah I mean you can just tell it it’s not quite there forgiveness wise little out of the toe there kind of got on top of it 136 132 199 6000 I mean I wouldn’t say that there’s much bad about this it’s just for me I can already tell hitting a couple shots I wouldn’t want to play this in the iron over the 243 that thing is just it’s so beautiful yeah and I really do like the extra balce I can just tell with this it’s not low bounce but it’s just not quite as much bounce as the 240 series and you can just get this into the ground a little bit quicker it’s solid guys just not my absolute favorite that being said I am very curious to see how we get on with this 245 taking a look down at this thing definitely a thicker Topline this to me looks Hollow bodied not in a bad way it just you can kind of tell it’s a hollow body design I would say kind of reminiscent of a p770 offset on this honestly pretty much non-existent because of how we have it bent which to me makes this look like pretty much the perfect players distance iron I mean I don’t like offset I wouldn’t play players distance iron but if I was going to you’d have a hard time prying these out of my hands just straight away because of the look that’s right there the only reason I probably wouldn’t play this it just feels hot there’s no other way to put it and for me a five iron I just don’t quite need that what I’m really looking for in this is a little bit of help but still a lot of consistency if that makes sense numbers wise I mean that is insane 143 ball speed 217 carry 151 launch 4,800 spin that’s just too much for me personally just too much heat feel like I’m hitting a 44 magnum right now little bit of a lower face strike there still plenty of height out of it 132 138 209 4900 so I mean for me with this club immediately looking at the numbers a Miss is pretty much going the same numbers as a good strike with a 243 which is just not what I need because when I do hit this thing good it’s going to go too far I mean there’s really no other way around it and the first shot’s a good example of that again a Miss there kind of a Cy one which is funny 140 ball at a Miss 214 a cut that only spun 4500 I mean this thing is really nice if you need the extra forgiveness if you’re somebody who really hits it all over the face but you want to play a more player Style Iron but if you’re a better ball Striker you can tend to hit the middle pretty often I don’t think you’re going to need this I do think it is going to come out a little bit hot maybe go a little bit too far that’s the 245 let’s go ahead and move up into the 245 4 R and that one I am very excited about but I’m very curious to see how this goes because I’m somebody who actually does tend to play players distance iron in my four iron I just love the extra help I love being able to miss it all over the face and still get away with it numbers wise taking a look down at it again really good I mean you can definitely tell I would say it’s a player distance iron you can kind of see the back sticking out a little bit it looks like a hollow body iron but again from a shaping perspective really good offset perspective definitely a little bit more offset in this over the five iron but it’s not anything crazy it’s not awful looking from an offset perspective that was a chunk very curious to see what the numbers look like there 143 223 139 4300 I love that that’s what I’m talking about because in this 4 iron I don’t know about you guys but me personally I feel like this is way harder to hit over a five iron I don’t know why that is but I just love a lot of help in this club specifically and that’s a great example of why you know my five iron let’s say it’s flying I don’t know 210 208 you know I want this to go a little bit further than you would think probably closer to about 225 227 so then my 6 fo can kind of go maybe 24ish if that makes sense that was a good one I just got ahead of it pushed it right but it’s just hard to beat that numbers wise because that’s a that to me felt like kind of a spinny cut that I got ahead of and it still flew 220 142 ball 134 launch 4,400 launch is staying up which is great that was easily one of the worst shots I’ve hit today for sure probably in recent memory like a low Healy one 215 112 138 3900 so for me to basically almost miss the face there and it Fly 215 come on man I don’t think the 243 could do that there is a solid one oh boy that might have went like really freaking far I kind of got on top of that nope perfect 145 227 126 4200 that’s perfect numbers for me a little low in the face pretty good though 226 136 143 4,000 come on man I just want to hit one absolutely perfect and make sure it doesn’t go further than 230 228 Max there it is perfect 225 that’s it brother that’s it right there 145 225 125 4,400 what are we doing I think this is perfect in the four iron right guys so that covers all of our testing hopefully you enjoyed it if you did make sure to go ahead and hit that like button and the Subscribe button and the notification Bell so you are notified anytime that we post a new video final conclusions quickly in the shore clubs we are going with the Muno Pro 241s down to the 7 iron there’s really not much to say about these I mean they’re blades but they are amazing blades they look incredible I think they feel awesome super workable I love the added bounce I cannot say enough good things about these personally over the 221s I thought those were solid but just too low balance for the majority of people these are pretty much a perfect blade I’m very curious to see where they go from here because I don’t really know how you improve upon these pitching wedge through 7 iron with the 241s moving up into the six iron I’m going to be honest with you guys I am still torn here between the Muno Pro 241 and the jpx 923 tour first and foremost the 241 I think that this is plenty for giving in the six iron I don’t really think it’s too much but I really like the slight bit of extra help that you get out of the jpx 923 tour the only small issue I have with the 923 tour is the offset it does maybe have a little bit too much a little bit more than I believe the 241 and the 243 once you put them at 30° of Loft I think I am going to go with the 923 tour I do think I am but I’m curious to do a little bit more on course testing maybe see if the 241 is plenty for giving on the golf course my one ask of Muno is when they release the 925 if it’s call a 925 just make them have a little bit less offset that is my one thing I think these feel great I think they look really good I think they move through the turf pretty well maybe a little bit less bounce than both the 241 and the 243 just for me it comes down to the offset still a little bit of testing to do I would love to hear you guys’ opinions if you’ve had the chance to test either of these or both of them let me know what you think let me know which one you would take in the comments down below moving up into the five iron we have the Muno pro 243 this thing is awesome I think for me personally just a hair too hot in the 6 iron just a little bit but in the five iron it’s perfect it feels awesome out of the center when you miss it maybe a little bit low on the face maybe a little bit heel a little bit toe it gives you that slight bit of extra help this is an amazing Iron especially in a longer club I’m super pumped about this honestly this might be my favorite iron in the whole set this thing is super super awesome 243 in the five iron getting up into the four iron we have the Mauna Pro 245 this thing is spectacular in a four iron you know for me personally I do think it’s a little bit hot in the shorter clubs for somebody of my speed but when you get this thing down to a four iron it’s amazing the Miss hits are really the most incredible thing I feel like I can miss this thing off the shaft and it’s still going to fly you know 5 yards further than my five iron which is absolutely awesome gives me a ton of confidence out of the Center it goes a little bit further than I think a 243 for iron would go which is exactly what I like to see it fits my gapping absolutely perfectly once again with the bounce really really solid a little bit of extra bounce makes these a little bit more forgiving as a whole guys and as you know Muno always kills it with the irons and the 240 series might just be my favorite Muno irons of all time they are absolutely incredible if you haven’t seen my review of them I’ll go ahead and Link it in the description below once again if you enjoy the video be sure to give it a like if you have any 1. Tremendous. Lots to unpack here but very very well done. I used to bag Mizzy for years and now PXG. I did same w my irons combo’d 0317CB/T and added an 0311P in my 5 iron. Very similar to what you mentioned here w Mizuno. I’m afraid to test these clubs right now because midway through north east season I’m playing very good golf right now. 👍🏻. I will come late fall as season winds down here test these to compare my numbers. I saw somewhere Mizuno ramping up a new JPX line soon so who knows. Can’t keep up w this stuff, it’s like buying a laptop. Your review(s) here are spot on, educational, informative especially for the dialed in golf consumer. I’ve commented before and I appreciate the work and professionalism you’ve put into producing these. Great job. 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

  2. Nice video. Found your channel earlier when looking for reviews on Tour AD shafts and have watched a few of your videos now. Nice approach to the clubs, lots of data, I'm a fan of the way it's all put together (I'm a big equipment nerd). Have subscribed and look forward to more videos.
