do it I had to do it man uh extremely disappointed guys extremely disappointed but at the same time I’m keeping my head level meaning free agency is just in day two right now all right there has been in the past free agencies where the real moves happen day four 567 okay so for those parts I understand that the market is drying up Gary Harris just signed Chris dun just signed everybody’s saying sell the team this or that now definitely question marks question marks to be had eyebrow raisers for sure especially with Rob palinka what are you doing what are you doing right now uh but you know it started off as a bad day when we lost uh you know when we lost the big fish and Klay Thompson and it seems like it’s been repetitious matter of fact shout out to my boy Chris who tagged me on this Demar de Roan is still out there I know some of you guys don’t want him he could be a major help especially offensively uh you talk about a player that likes to float like a butterfly from the mid-range and sting like a bee um big fan of dear he would fit in he would improve this roster but he’s not what we need so I I do um I do understand your guys’s concern and what we need however can come via trade the main concern is that the report was that maybe LeBron will no longer take a pay cut unfortunately and uh that is very concerning for everybody involved because that gives us no wiggle room whatsoever uh but okay I got a nice little update for you guys uh from earlier today so um the Lakers may send D’Angelo Russell to a third team to land Demar de rozen according to Jake L fiser uh it says for the Lakers to bring on D rozen Los Angeles may have to work with a third team to offload some salaries such as D’Angelo Russell or Gabe Vincent the Nets have been open to welcoming uh Russell back to the Barkley Center since this past trade deadline and of course due to the fact that he’s in expiring contract it also helps uh his case there but I’ll tell you who did not want D’Angelo Russell and that was the Golden State Warriors because apparently they turned down a deal center around D’Angelo Russell that would have netted Klay Thompson a four-year deal $20 million per year uh for D’Angelo Russell’s uh uh expiring deal and guess what they did I almost passed out when I heard of this but the Warriors they declined that deal and they went out and they they got they traded away clay for two second round picks so there’s that b essentially for nothing and that is the Laker TCH striking once again now people try to tell me oh well hey Dan you know what happened was that uh you know the warriors were trying to you know uh not bring on no more salary for this this or that let’s be honest there is a Laker tax and it always strikes on the Lakers at the worst times and that’s okay we’re not going to sit here and cry and beg for handouts we’re gonna keep our our chin up and keep marching forward but uh it is discouraging to see that teams will easily operate and and and get low balled by other teams meanwhile we’re trying to pay a premium D’Angelo Russell they’re acting like he’s a chump he did average 18.7 points per game last season shooting 40% from Beyond The Arc so the fact that they turned him down just in in in order to not trade with the Lakers is baffling to me but not surprising not surprising at all Richard appreciate you man uh Dan I’m beyond uh frustrated why are all the other teams moving so fast and seems every year where the slowest Dan what’s taking them so long I have I you know what I wish I could answer that question but I’ll tell you this Rob if there’s any con conciliation Rob always operates in silence I’ve told you guys that I’ve been able to land the least amount of predictions I still land quite a couple when it comes to this roster change but I’ve been able to land the least amount of predictions since roal Linka took over because it’s really hard to read the te Le with this guy he’ll hit you with something out of left field that’s why I’m not necessarily super frustrated I am semi frustrated it’s disappointing that we keep whiffing on the big fish for sure but if the report holds true and we can get to Mara Rosen and then trade for other pieces like maybe potentially a Brook Lopez that would be nice outside of that Ro palenka is on a hot seat people already getting tired this dude um I’ve seen so many uh rapid fire ralena tweets um so there is that unfortunately uh but you know I’m the type of Laker fan that can be very patient I know that free agency just started and I’m here to you know navigate through it with you guys along with you guys so um there there is that right um if things go right Demar cam Johnson are Lakers yeah I’ve been hearing the rumors that wouldn’t be bad at all but we also have to worry about a big man all right I would be disappointed we go in here with no added bigman for sure um but cam Johnson’s a very solid Wing who’s been attached to the Lakers for for quite some time now the Lakers been registering their their interest in him for quite a while and then um Demar de rozan has always been a fan favorite for me personally you know again Compton 310 in the building that’ll be a dream come Tru he gets to play for the Lakers for me um but how much does he have left in the tank and how will he be incorporated because he’s definitely not a fit he’s not somebody who’s going to Naturally Fit in but if you have the the right coach can maybe get him to buy into a lesser rle and actually uh be efficient then anybody can fit at that point my guy die hard said I hope it’s not smoking mirrors and LeBron is really on a farewell tour and we’re selling Father and Son tickets with uh JJ ushering out LeBron James to start the rebuild he said the Rosen was my favorite Target I hope we get the rozen as well bro I a lot of L people don’t like the rozen and I’ll let you guys elaborate a little bit more on that but um he is a 20 point per game scorer uh even in a down year and with the Lakers at least if he gives us 18 efficient he’s a mid-range killer the footwork is nice transition he can be very effective he’s a big guard too he’s a big guard you can play the wing um I like him a lot I mean what what do you have to lose sell them to Magic yeah you know what um I wouldn’t mind if that really happened but I don’t think they’ll be selling anytime soon man it’s a family operated business so I think once Genie is done with that if she’s ever done with the team and their lifespan she might just pass pass it down to her younger brothers right Joey and Jesse bus maybe I don’t know uh Dan I don’t know how you stay optimistic because it’s early in free agency now if it was like July 5th or 6th and we still don’t hear nothing about the Lakers be very afraid now I’m really not only am I Optimist not only am I going to be pessimistic I’m gonna be furious yall GNA see Angry Dan for those of you new subscribers man I’m a die hard Lakers fan but that already happened as far as free agents going but Demar D rozan for me uh is a top Target I think lari marinin and Walker Kesler is somebody two people to keep an eye on because again I I’m great at reading the te leaves and and they signed another big man on top of drafting KY filipowski I think one of the two is going to go for short especially if the jzs want to be in full rebuild mode you can’t go into the with four or five big man right can they so most likely they’re going to trade either Larry marinin or Walker Kessler or maybe even both but I think one at least uh cam Johnson again the Lakers have registered interest Dorian finny Smith is another uh two-way uh Power Forward who can help a team for sure but what is gonna be the asking price I know the Nets are trying to clean house a little bit so I expect cam Johnson dor or Dorian FY Smith to get traded if not both and then buddy heel buddy heel another name that’s been linked to the Lakers we didn’t get clay but buddy held can be a streaky shooter for the Lakers they can maybe bring him in Brandon Ingram is another point of Interest I do believe uh candy I do believe that they’re gonna eventually trade him but for down so unfortunately the Clippers they had another good signing all right Chris Dunn has reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers you hate to see it uh I was actually a fan of Chris Dunn it’s unfortunate he signed there um also uh Goa uh I’m not even gonna try to say his name the Orlando Magic Center is returning is uh returning to Orlando on a three-year 25 doll contract very affordable very affordable if the Lakers weren’t focused on other free agents that would have been a decent one to to bring here uh big man can Rim protect rebound do some of the dirty work he’s not bad at all so you know he re-ups with the magic and a lot of a lot of free agents are reupping with their own teams because of the new CBA there’s not a lot of other money to be had in other places which explains why D’Angelo Russell opted in now it all makes sense right everybody thought he was gonna opt out not D’Angelo Russell not that guy he definitely opted in to his contract now I do want to talk to you guys and I’m I’m G answer questions a little bit what do you guys feel about the Lakers offering Klay Thompson more money right a 20 Mill million four-year deal as reported uh so it would have been 80 million for four years um and I told you guys he’s worth about 20 to 25 still in his career so I was right there um but he turned that down for lesser money he took a threeyear $50 million deal of course they’re talking about the state taxes and all that but I still think he left some money maybe like what 15 to 16 million on the table uh even if he would have came over here after taxes so I don’t know don’t want to do the math on that don’t care but honestly um what do you guys think of that it’s for me it’s disheartening that our that our front office is is throwing out more money and still getting rejected like that really makes me feel bad uh my guy said I’m not blaming Rob for the Warriors getting two second round picks you’re right about that but I mean they did turn down the D’Angelo Russell deal and it sounds like uh Klay Thompson turned down the Lakers as well so uh let’s see here uh yeah yeah trolls trolls get dealt with over here yeah there you go uh Dan warriors did not want DLo I do I do think clay turned I don’t think Klay turned down it’s just the Warriors not wanting DLo but at the end of the day Klay could have really decided where he wanted to go man I do believe that so I I think ultimately he did chose the Mavericks because he was he was a free agent he could have just opted out and signed with somebody LeBron made space for him um you were trying to probably negotiate something with the Warriors just in case Klay Thompson accepted and it was neither right so we weren’t gaining ground on anything which which makes sense because I do believe that Klay Thompson mued the the offer that the Lakers sent out for sure but uh he slept on it and he he woke up on the wrong side of the pillow because he chose the wrong team I’ll tell you that right now he ain’t winning the championship with the Mavs yeah C taxes have been horrible they got me man they got me too uh here but driving that’s what’s up sis glad you made it glad you made it for sure taking questions now though how you guys feeling who would you who who would you guys like and what do you think what do you guys think are the are the chances that the Lakers actually again I’ve seen deals be struck in like day six or seven and again I I hope that doesn’t happen because it’s been torture we’ve been patiently waiting as a Laker fan base we went through a whole trade deadline with no moves because we were promised a good solid offseason and it has not delivered in the first day and a half so that is the honest to God truth however there’s still time and I’m holding on to that I’m holding on that and I hope that they can make something happen and and make us proud here but other than that man it it’s not looking good right now whatever we do we hear two-year 144 million contract to stay with the Orlando Magic that’s another piece I really liked at 70 million a year definitely a bargain uh good good reacquisition by Orlando and Orlando looks formidable they added kcp they reup a lot of their guys um so yeah another free agent that signed while I was off stream was uh Toronto Raptor uh guard Garrett Temple um so yeah Garrett Temple or forward or whatever he is he resigned on a one-year deal um so again nothing major has happened it’s all been minor stuff outside of the Klay Thompson and Paul George right but but then again if you look at uh where we’re at right now in free agency bigs have you know flown off the shelves uh there’s still a couple there’s still Mo Bamba’s still out there somewhere I believe he’s still an unrestricted free agent um who else is still out there man still a couple free agents out there to be had but I think the Lakers are going more of the trade route outside of uh maybe Demar my biggest concern is if the Lakers take too long LeBron gets impatient and says just give me the max contract you guys Fe figure it out and he goes over there to uh you know overseas to go train with Team USA or whatever that’s my biggest concern That Could Happen by the way uh Sharma he said anyone hating on thear just know you’re hating on Kobe Protege a guy who played the most minutes and it’s a dog in appreciate but he’s undersized how many more undersized bigs do we need we got Christian Wood and Jackson Hayes even though he makes up with it uh with his athleticism I much rather have uh you know a seven foot 10 wingspan in MO Boma even if he’s uncoordinated and he’s not the most consistent key is we we had him but we really never had him because he was never healthy with us soon as we got him I think it was like the second game he gets hurt and then he never really returned to play many minutes so that’s unfortunate uh but yeah we do need a center and that’s where we should look let’s see here more questions will rob palinka make any moves for the Lakers I believe so I believe he will uh remember they talked about this they ran out of excuses let’s keep it a buck 50 Ro palinka has no excuses he needs to perform now or his job will be in Jeopardy by Next by the end of this season okay or maybe even halfway through who knows I doubt it they never do any firings halfway through but Rob palena really has to turn this roster around he’s got the pieces D’Angelo even opted in so you should be able to trade him he’s an expiring contract 18 points per game when was the last time an expiring contract that brings you 18 points per game has no value from what I’m hearing Brooklyn wants to get involved okay so there’s one team we’re hearing about figure it out man you can get you can bring back cam Johnson a three and D Wing young player with a lot of upside you can uh you know who who knows what else you can go and get for d’angel Russell but I do not want d’angel Russell my starting point guard next year here for the Lakers he already proved that he was not going to uh be able to produce in the Posies right and it’s no hate man see young people they sometimes confuse you know being realistic and keeping it a buck 50 with hate it’s not I love DLo hey we drafted him he’s always gonna be one of ours but are we making the playoffs with the current roster you know what um there’s a lot of VAR variables that will factor into that first of all how quickly will they adapt and adjust to their new head coach and the schemes he’s running that’s going to really factor into that and on top of that if this is the roster will everybody be healthy if everybody’s healthy I do believe we still have what it takes I mean last year even injured we got into the seven seed this year if we could stay healthy and if they adapt quickly to what coach JJ reck is is is gonna uh put out there for them they buy in then I think we have a good chance even with this team but the Lakers goal should never be to make the playoffs right it needs to be to get to the finals at the very least and to win a championship at the very most that’s the golden standard no matter what even if you got a rookie coach he understands he said it in his press conference he understands the expectations our Championship or bust um all right let’s see here my guy uh Eddie my brother how you doing man be dowlo and a filler but you know we have to figure all that out I really can’t dissect this roster until until we um you know until we have a full team and we know exactly what we’re going into but in the NBA so yeah if you can have Jared Allen I do that if if the numbers work why not um again the the biggest piece you’re losing there is Jared Vanderbilt which really would hurt but we’re addressing uh you know opposition position of need and you’re strength in it not not only are you addressing it but now it becomes a a position of strength so you go from one extreme to the other now the question will be if Vandal gets traded can ruy hachimura work on his defense especially his his on ball defense that’s where he really has to work because he’s been getting blown by a lot he has to work on on his lateral quickness sliding his feet his upper body strength is already there so on ball you know as a positional Defender when he’s in place he’s good right we even seen him contest really well against jic uh not last year but the year before that uh in the in the Western Conference finals and uh we actually at one point we wanted him to start which daram made no such adjustments but uh you know um that’s my only concern we lose Vandal we lose one of the best young lockdown Defenders which would really hurt me to the court but then you’re getting one of the best young paint protectors to go alongside Anthony Davis and it’s a risk I’d be willing to take you have to sometimes give something to get something right we we we are Laker fans they call us delusional but actually realistic we don’t you know say we don’t propose trades that uh we don’t think can happen and I think that is realistic but and and why you might ask why would Cleveland do it well because I feel like Evan Mobley and uh and and this guy Jared Allen cannot coexist if anything I would move uh Moy up to the five and and and and run a lot of offense through him uh as well as obviously Donovan Mitchell assuming they keep them so um just just a lot to break down there but yeah Jared Allen would be an upgrade big time Big prop to you dtlf new to your channel I like your content bro keep it up Fam and his son you know dribble the heck out of the basketball and then right off into the sunset after like a year or two um me personally I want to compete for titles lifelong Laker fan 28 years plus again my whole F my family indoctrinated me into the Lakers I didn’t have a choice and thank God I didn’t because they they brought me into the best franchise in the in the world but I have seen a change I have seen a change since the late great Dr Jerry bus passed and uh you know Lakers are are reeling trying to grip for an identity right now and uh that you know Jeanie’s doing her best to try to uh make her pops proud but she got to be a little more Cutthroat because I think Rob palena should not be able to survive another off season if this is the team we go into uh next season with right we can’t we can’t do it it’s just when you’re not improving much while the West continues to improve right the West will continue to improve and so yeah we got to be smart here and just make the Right Moves and the right deals for everybody involved um and maybe that’s why Rob is taking a sweet time he doesn’t want to make a misstep just like he did with the Russell Westbrook deal because that was a huge misstep matter of fact you can argue that the Russell Westbrook trade set us back two years right we were on the right trajectory after winning in 2020 then they failed to resign all those key pieces right they failed to bring back certain players like Alex Caruso and then they go and they make a catastrophic trade for Russell Westbrook and the rest has been history we’ve been reeling and recovering ever since then and this is supposed to be the the season that okay so the year we made it to the Western Conference Finals we we had recovered and we were supposed to start even last year injury strike and bad coaching and now we got a new coach so again we’re hitting the reset button starting fresh trying to uh you know try to set a a path towards up upwards right we’re trying to Trend up again and uh if if if they don’t make a splash guys I hate to repeat myself here but if they make a splash it’s impossible to to to Trend up especially when you’re in in a tough western conference right everybody’s getting better the mths got a little bit better I’m not gonna lie especially offensively defensively questionable right because Derrik Jones Jr very solid Defender I think he was a big piece of that but they might be able to acquire something by the trade deadline to address any sort of flaws that team has however offensively Luca Kyrie and and Clay is going to be a problem um especially if they start jelling it might take a little bit of time uh but for us man man you know we got a long ways to go for sure Dan the man bring back Trevor uh you know what um I have access to asking him at any time however I tend to be uh very considerate I know he’s got a lot of work to do around this time you see what I’m doing and I got 20 24K subs and Counting imagine what he’s doing at at 500k so he’s got you know probably triple the amount of work that I have to do so I I I you know I I brought him here the for the first time two years ago and then I brought him back finally this summer right before free agency because I knew he he’d be available right he’d have a an open time slot but right now bro is just busy man I don’t even dare ask him right now uh just emojis well hopefully he’s praying to get the heck out of Dodge because uh Atlanta is is going down real quick man Atlanta is is a rebuilding team that’s what they are and Trey young doesn’t deserve to stay there and syn with the ship uh you know so we’ll say Trey is done with Atlanta he he should be one thing I I mentioned a couple of nights ago is that on Instagram he removed all of his Atlanta Hawk stuff and there’s been video clips of him on the phone with his agent and stuff or or what’s presumed to be his agent so maybe they are working to get him again it would make a lot of sense for the Lakers to trade for Trey young now because I think his trade value is at an all-time low like you could probably get him for two first round picks where before it would require the three first round picks just like Donovan Mitchell he’s still a 25 Point per game score and those guys do not grow on trees I want people to know that right I want people to know that it’s interpreted as please or thank God for me when I see the prayer emoji and I use this prayer Emoji a lot I interpret it as uh you know grateful so maybe he’s grateful for something maybe he’s grateful for life it could be a simple thing a lot I’ll say this a lot of free agents do like to troll and get reactions out of fans I think they have a good time with it they’re probably hanging out with their friends and family and just be like watch this and then they they tweet something out then they show it to all their family and they look at all the replies together and laugh about it that could be the case just saying you don’t want to read too much into it but I would love to have Trey young and that would just be the starting point if you go out and you get Trey young then you got to go out and grab a big man for real and hopefully also you can uh you know hold on to V because I think if you’re getting a non-defensive player like a Trey young Vanderbilt would be crucial crucial uh Dan der rozen for the mle for TR or or trade for Trey you know you know I’m going Trey all day but I’m biased I like Trey man I think he he’s got a lot of heart he plays with a lot of passion you know I think he’s somebody who uh you know I think he’s somebody who can be intriguing for the Lakers and I think he’s made for the Limelight again anybody who can go into the garden and hit a dagger three-point shot to force a game seven on a non-content Atlanta Hawks team this right after they traded John Collins is is Laker material for me right it’s Laker material for me I’ve been preaching this all summer man people been uh making fun of me for saying oh he doesn’t play defense remember this you can always mask a poor Defender but you can’t mask a poor offensive player not in today’s modern NBA was that a dtlf quote right there I should coin that hold up he said right I feel Trey young would be a perfect match for us he’s made for the Limelight bro I was blessed enough to go watch him play live when he came to to staple center to play my Lakers and I was thoroughly impressed with with just the way he approaches the game I look at the way you know his pregame rituals and everything he’s made for the limelights I’ll tell you that right now um let’s see well by all means DLo is gone that’s the good news because I think we saw what D was made of and we we saw what what he brings to the table especially in the postseason and it’s just not sustainable unfortunately I like what he did in the regular season it just wasn’t enough for me to say okay let’s hold on to him let’s make him a long-term uh piece here with the Lakers I did it was fun to watch the back court of Austin Reeds and D offensively but it definitely wasn’t fun defensively and like I said you could have one poor Defender but you can’t have two out there in the perimeter especially in the Western Conference getting cooked by these Western Conference guards it is just a nightmare right yeah Trey young would be a major when you already know re you already know how I feel about Trey let’s see T Dan Trey is my favorite player and I’ve been wanting us to get him him and AD fit perfectly yeah you know what you’re absolutely right and that’s moving forward too into the future right into the future so you’re right that that is a win for the now and for the Post LeBron era you would have a piece there to build around honestly I think he gets underutilized I think you know um Atlanta just has Trey out there selling tickets because they know he’s he’s definitely a draw um but when when you come to La just very much so like pal gasone of course they’re different players different positions different times uh but you elevate your game if you’re a great one pal gaso went from Fringe Allstar to borderline super now he wasn’t a superstar but Kobe also helped him Elevate his game to the next level and he was a borderline uh you know uh but he was for sure guaranteed Allstar and that’s what I think Trey young would do man I misses games especially but he’s not something we necessarily need right so that’s what intrigues me about thear how would coach use them I think I saw a podcast where JJ was really praising thear as well all right so I’m curious how he would utilize him because he’s a really good player he is but he he needs to be used correctly you can’t just put him in the corner and expect him to be effective right you’re going to have to put him around the mid High post and let him operate from there I mean his footwork is awesome man you isolate Demar de ro he might hit you with a ja fake drop step Wilmington and Avalon and uh you know I’ve always been a fan from from all of our NBA players that come from from from my hometown so this would for me personally is just it means a lot to see one one of one of our own representing the Lakers of all teams not just the NBA it makes me proud of already what he’s done in Toronto what he did for the Spurs what he did for the Bulls but just him coming home here it would be special because he’s not going to have the the Russell Westbrook syndrome where he’s too selfish and he just wants to Pat his stats now this dude I think would be really you know a great winner for us thear and AD operate in the same space well that’s where coach has to figure out how to stagger some minutes there man and get really creative a good coach will make it work signning trade and Demar for mle uh that would be a dream but it still doesn’t address the center position right so I that’s the one that’s the one thing right there it it would be a dream come true to get both of those players two of my favorites but it doesn’t address the center position what do we do then we we give up all these assets for those two players and we make up all the space and a couple of minutes you know we heard oh breaking news Lakers have signed this player Lakers have signed that player they put together Danny Green Rondo Dwight all these keyo pieces that really helped us to win a championship in just within a couple of minutes that was his best year I think that was Prime R palenka I pray to God we get another version of that especially here in this off season because that could set us up for the future and for the now right now believe it or not people think we’re in a dire situation we’re really not at the end of the day we still have Anthony Davis Hall of Famer we still have LeBron James one of the all-time greats uh we we just got a brand new coach TBD on him I don’t want to pass judgment yet let’s give him some time uh but it is an upside because anything should be an upgrade to darham okay uh and then and then let’s see what else we get and we can work with we did get a nice young draft pick in Dalton right connect so everybody’s excited about him I’ve personally never seen him play I will Reserve judgment until I see him at least in the summer league and then we can go from there um and and now again free agency we brought back max Christie which is always good that kid has a lot of potential he might crack the rotation this season and I would not be surprised if at one point he starts at the two guard that’s how much potential he has to be three and D so there’s a lot of things that are going to factor into whether we keep Ro paleno moving forward or we fire him at the end of the day though I I’m going to keep an open mind and I’m gonna be patient he has this offseason to make things work doesn’t make things work here then what are you doing bro because basically we had LeBron James recruiting we had LeBron James giving up uh part of his paycheck in order to get people here and we still couldn’t so that to me is a huge problem that’s a that’s that’s no bueno right so we got to be smart about how we operate I you know
