Frank Bensel Jr. Hits Back-To-Back Holes-In-One In The Senior Open And Now Has 14 In His Lifetime

Frank Bensel Jr. achieved one of the most impressive feats in sports history on Friday, June 28 when he made back-to-back holes-in-one.

Playing in the second round of the U.S. Senior Open at Rhode Island’s Newport Country Club, the 56-year-old Jupiter, Florida-native sunk one 184 yards from tee on the par 3 fourth hole, only to one swing later score another ace from 203 yards.

According to the National Hole-In-One Registry, the odds of making two holes-in-one in a row is 67 million to one.

Bensel, who now has 14 holes in one in his lifetime, teed off in an early group and television cameras missed the shots, but he was able to collect the flags after the round with his caddie, his 14-year-old son Hagen.

Frank followed-up with four consecutive bogeys and finished the day at one-over par and six-over in the tournament.

No golfer has ever made back-to-back aces in any Tour event, although Seamus Power did it at the 2023 Masters pre-tournament Par Three contest.

And in 1987, Don Bliss had two holes-in-one in the same round in the U.S. Mid-Amateur at Brook Hollow in Dallas.
