I would get KCP, Klay and a legitimate big center who can at times play with AD.
I would start Reeves, KCP, Vando, Lebron and AD. Denver used a similar type lineup where Murray was more of a shooting guard than point guard. Let Lebron and AD be your distributors like Jokic and Gordon did for Denver. Then, I’d have Klay, Max, Knecht, Rui and the acquired big off the bench. Use Russell and Cam in a trade for the big man.

Just because a player wants to continue, it does not mean he should. Based on last season, the FO should reevaluate a few players on the roster and decides who should stay and who should be traded or waved. Too many average one way players will not make this team a title contender any time soon.
Besides, the time is running out on LeBron with this roster. Barring a miracle, I would not be surprised if the Lakers go into a major rebuild in a couple of seasons. New players? New coach? New GM?

Klay is 34 but play like 38-39. He don’t play defense this days.

Hard to get excited about the immediate future for the Lakers, this franchise has been turned over to LeBlame. Paying him $50 + mil when he’s 43? Yeah, we won’t be winning anything. It’s just a male soap opera reality show at this point.
So EVERYONE wants back in. That really puts pressure on Pelinka to get a major trade done to clear the roster and then what happens with Thompson? If they don't sign Klay, LeBron takes that 20 MIL back. That would be tragic.

I think the warriors owe it to clay to get him where he wants to go within reason. I wouldn’t say that for just any player but he’s earned it

A good starting 5 would be Bron AD Vando Klay & Dinwiddie. AR & Rui as the 6th & 7th guy. We don't really need Prince in our top 7.
Klay has good stats with some bad games. However his stats are so high the bad games don't matter. What matters is he can't jump anymore and his defense isn't what he used to be. It will be interesting to see if he suddenly gets better due to being on a fresh team. Would be interesting on the Lakers.
