Final Round Highlights | VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open



The final round of the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open was everything you would like to see. There were so many potential winners, England’s Alice Hewson and India’s Tevesa Malik entered the clubhouse on -11 to force a playoff. Hewson would go on to birdie the 18th and clinch her first victory since 2020.

it proved to be a very exciting final round of the VP Bank Swiss ladies open coming from the fifth year in a row from Golf Park Holtz Housen just outside of Zurich the wooden Cal the much sought after Trophy and there were plenty in with a shout unfortunately no Swiss winner for the very first time Kiara tambellini finished in a tie for 10th place at six under pass she was the best play of the local contingent Maria andez continued her fine form a third top 10 in a row after concluding with a 68 she finished in a share of fifth at eight underpar alongside the swed Moa fulker here she was at the PA through 15th where there was a hole in one prize no Ace for the site but a birdie two onto her B finish of the season is 67 on day three for fulker the overnight leader was Fatima Fernandez Cano this one of seven birdies in a round but too many mistakes on the car from the Spanish rookie who finished one shot short in a share of third place lowest round of the day well that came from Irish woman Lauren Walsh she made her ladies European tour debut at this venue last season setting herself up for a birdie finish and a round of 64 she set the early Target at 10 under [Applause] part there were some spectacular shots over the stretch look at this one from Alice houon slam dunk in for an eagle took it to 10 under she birded the last for a 65 and was set the new Target at minus 11 now caddy Ry couldn’t believe it but anything that Alice can do well tasa manic could do as well 17th same hole different shot same result in for an eagle three and like Houston at that 17th she moved to 10 under but she needed a birdie at the last to match the English players score of 11 under par on the Green in two this for the birdie wonderful putt at a round of 66 so two finishing at 11 under par a playoff back to the 18th and with Malik in a bit of trouble down the left hand side Houston who birded this H hole in rounds one two and in round three set herself up for another opportunity at the first extra [Applause] hole by the time she had her putt she had two for it but why take two when you can take one finishing it off in style Alice Houston a champion again her second ladies European tour title and her first since her very first start on tour four years ago in South Africa confirmation Alice houon taking the title at the first playoff hole over tasa Malik Laura MCH and Fatima Fernandez Cano settling for third spot plenty of Spaniards in that top 10 it’s been a long wait but Alice hon has her hands back on a trophy a rather unique one the VP Bank Swiss ladies open champion
