Marcel Siem claims his SXITH Tour win as he beats Tom McKibbin in a play-off at the Italian Open.

After a three-year stay at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club, the DP World Tour makes its way to Adriatic Golf Club which will host the Italian Open presented by Regione Emilia-Romagna for the first time. Tom McKibbin will be in the field this week. He made the cut at his first Major Championship in the U.S Open three weeks ago and went onto claim his fifth top ten of year – and third in his last five starts – at the KLM Open last week. He currently sits 20th in the Race to Dubai Rankings. Guido Migliozzi will also be in the field after his win in the Netherlands last week. It seemed to be coming as the Italian enjoyed a strong run of form finishing runner-up at the Volvo China Open, followed by a 24T at the Soudal Open and a tie for 8th at the European Open three weeks ago before his victory. Danny Willett will also be in Italy this week. The Previous Masters champion and eight-time winner on the DP World Tour is on the comeback trail after his shoulder injury and played well for a T29 finish last week at the KLM Open. Others to look out for include Sebastian Söderberg, Laurie Canter and Patrick Reed.

I think a winning to looking at the breeze I would have thought 14 under might be might be a Target it’s interesting isn’t it with this Breeze getting up a little bit we saw yesterday rosar went from has moved within two of the lead Yanik de bruyne has reached the fifth get a nice t-shot into the Fairway trying to draw this one in left-hander oh he’s done so quite beautifully you can see the spin on the ball there taking ever closer to the flag terrific MIM and he was well over on the left hand side he was on the green but he’s degreened it with his part so come on knock this in yeah what on two behind a kibbon 220 to the flag if he gets any sort of chance at going for it Tom M will go for it it’s excellent I mean that five AR hit to the last in Hamburg hooking it around the tree and over the water that was some shot to win the European open it really was right to left breaker up the hill a birdie to take him to nine under within one of the current lead normally looking at it and thinking oh yeah the guys behind I’ve got lots of Birdie chances but with the conditions that the guys on the course are describing it may be they don’t take very many yeah nicely done Rosner he’ll have a great chance I think oh and that blue as soon as you hit that that wind got up oh good job oh just just as well it did blow that’ll do nicely don’t be greedy oh two absolute Beauties in there from that left side Sean cro looks like he’s got a decent light oh and he’s taking advantage of it wow Sean Crocker just birded 10 he birded seven and two and three so to 10 under into a tie for the lead spot on Jamie fence started it right half and it ended up going in left and they move clear of the pack at 11 under par yeah beautifully hold six under for his round today look at that no Drop shots second shot to four for Rosner 105 but it’s just straight down a gale almost this flag on the front can he spin it and stop it he can indeed stunning shot strike was Perfection you could hear it he really nipped that created as much spin as he possibly could and can he get it there oh yes he can brilliant from Marcel SE two in a row so he moves ahead but he makes the birdie as well so they are matching each other toe for toe in this final pairing good contest in the early stages yeah 600 so far today mcken he’s a birdie here for 64 finish he’s going to have to chip it in if he’s going to do it couple of strange shots beautiful touch and you never know on this golf course you can make doubles in a heartbeat so these guys at the moment yeah they’re a couple of shots ahead they got modern players just say no I’m playing one shot at a time completely focused on this shot but sometimes you have to look at what’s going on around you what holes are to come up as well would you agree done it at the first extra H with another birdie just like the one in regulation which forced the play off with McKibben Marcel many congratulations I mean what a day you co-lead the tournament you have a great start you stumble a little bit on the back nine and you bu part a 22 footer to force a playoff I mean just summarize this for us yeah I mean it was really really tough I mean you saw the scoreboard everybody was making Bogies and doubles um it was really tough the wind was swirling pins and tucked in the corn actually for me perfect win off the right and uh pins on the right but uh was really tough out there and then um all the ho locations were in the shade already so because of the sun and it was very tough to put the uh to read the parts as well anyways um holding that P on 18 I think that was one of the coolest moments in in golf for me and um yeah doing it again now on the player was fantastic Maro I feel like you’re Superman you know you always defeat the odds don’t you I think you said it to us yesterday you didn’t believe that you could be in this position your heart can tell you something and your head could tell you another you know what does this Victory represent it’s just it’s just amazing um like I said yesterday that um everything went so quick um I mean my whole team is really really good I I really have to say thank you so much to hogga Fisher
