[Music] good morning everyone and welcome to the opening drive on a Friday on 101 ESPN in St Louis where it’s 7 o’ your time check brought to you by Clarkson Jewelers an officially licensed Rolex Jeweler Brook Grimsley Dan mclin Matthew Rocko Randy carer great to have you with us as we head towards the weekend how we doing kids I’m doing great good good yeah how about you guys I’m doing great I’m ready for a weekend of baseball cards and reds with three more to go after the opener last night so uh that’ll be fun to uh witness Cardinal baseball this weekend are you going down there I’ll get i’ll get down there for a game this weekend yeah now will you sit in the Press Box or you going to sit amongst the fans I think I need to get down there as a Press Box uh Observer are you able to walk amongst the crowd with the popularity that you have in this town I am I I enjoy walking uh amongst the the fellow fans I’m a fan with access that’s all I am and so yeah I always love talking ball with people we were Katie and Patrick and I were down at the game the other night against Atlanta uh the game that lasted 215 and it’s always great to talk to people I always tell people when they say I don’t want to bother you you know number one he’s they they say well I know you don’t want to talk sports when you’re not away when you’re not working well what the hell else am I going to talk about I you know we aren’t talking anything else because I don’t know about anything else presidential debate I was at an event last night talking Sports stand so you missed out on that I forgot that the debate was occurring thank goodness uh so anyway if people want to come up to me and talk sports or just say hey we listen every day yeah I appreciate that so I I have no problem uh hanging with the rest of my fellow St louisans man of the people is what you are Randy uh yeah last night there was a lot of interesting things that happened one miles michelas which we will get into here and then you had the presidential debate which happened as well I know that this is obviously sport show but it’s important to pay attention to what’s going on in politics which one was worse to watch guys miles michelas and what happened with the Cardinals or the presidential debate last night I got to say if if I would have been around and I did get a chance to see Alex NBT on the postgame show so I know what happened in the Cardinal game and it was not pretty for miles michelas but I can’t imagine that the presidential debate would have been more attractive I can guarantee you that the presidential debate would not have been more attractive to me than Miles Michael is getting pounded for four and a third they talked Sports though they did they talked about who had the best handicap who was the best golfer okay good so you would have been you would have been enthralled with that I’m looking forward to the match on TBS in Vegas you’d make a lot of money on that one yeah you got that right miles Michel okay this is an interest sorry guys uh this is an interesting question Cardinal L last night 11 to4 and Miles michelis goes four and a third and allows nine earned runs on 12 hits he walked one struck out one allowed a home run and like I said I saw the highlights I didn’t get to see the whole game but as as I look at the playby playay of the game I don’t think Miles michelas was left in too long does that sounds weird no I I’m with you I think it’s also a byproduct of just keeping Innings away from the bullpen some way somehow and sometimes that happens where a guy’s just got to wear it um but you know as you said look he just wasn’t sharp last night that’s all there is to it he just didn’t have a good game and sometimes you have these Clunkers but sometimes when you have those you got to stay in games and you got to save the bullpen you do you you do in that situation I mean he gave up a career high 10 runs nine of them earned 12 hits it was just a barrage of hits especially early on you have Ellie De La Cruz which a lot of people of course love watching him and what a game it was for Ellie day La Cruz it’s not fun when you have to talk about how he was kind of the star of the show but he started things off in the first inning with a triple and Miles michelas allowing at least one run in each inning in that situation if you’re all maral if you’re the Cardinals you just have to let him go out there because you still have to get protect your bullpen in that situation and he might find it you know he might find something that clicks and keeps him in the game longer I I go back to like the cyle Gibson start against Miami exactly what was it six runs they were down six nothing something like that and he winds up giving the Cardinal six or seven Innings and yeah it’s a loss in the the win loss column but you away is kind of win because you save your Bullpen so sometimes you just got to do that and the Cardinals unfortunately for them have had two of those starts in their last three because Gibby only gives you four Innings couple of days ago in the first game of the double header he allows four in his four Innings and then Michaelis gets rocked around last night so the Cardinals lose a lot of people listening to the show though and we appreciate that St St Louis Cardinals number one Nolan arado hitting a home run we talked yesterday about his first home run with the Cardinals and how he just went out and golfed it out of the ballpark that’s what he did last night to hit his home run yeah and uh they’re going to get some Bullpen help starting tonight too we talked about that with Gordon Gro Gordon Gro is on his way ktie woo reporting that grapha will be here and in the bullpen and the Cardinals have an easy job in my opinion of filling the the taking care of the 40 men they they’ve got a kid named Colton Ingram at Memphis who has an 8.44 earned run average they picked him up off of waivers earlier in the season uh he 59 170 left-hander there dime in a dozen yeah all do respect to cold Ingram and his family who I know are tuned in uh and then I’m I’m intrigued to see what the Cardinals do in terms of removing somebody from the 26 man what do you think where do you go I mean you could put uh you also talked about this you put Matts on the 60 you could do that too you know that’s something that you could do to maneuver it’s it’s always a situation and we talk about it a lot the roster of every team is really truly when it’s all said and done after 162 it’s about 35 guys M it’s about 35 to 36 guys that eventually you’re going to use some of that may be just a spot where you need to come up as a 27th man and a double header or in this case they need some fresh arms in their Bullpen I bet you guys I’m looking forward to it we’ve heard so much about Gordon grao we’ve seen him in spring training he’s had some success and I like the idea of him coming out of the bullpen I I still like the idea of a young pitcher even if it’s a starter getting his feet wet coming out of the bullpen in the major leagues so I I’m you can’t you you’re you’ve got gyos gyos is going to be here okay Hy’s your closer John King has been great kitridge is going to be here is it Kyle Ley he would seem vulnerable Liberator is going to be here uh I had I had Ley I I think Ley makes the most sense he’s pitched so much he’s got to be L off the 26 man he’s just pitched a ton you know so I look at him as being the guy we could be wrong I mean maybe they do something with fine or you know one of those guys but uh yeah for me it’s it’s um well you know I kind of look at it two ways too maybe you carry an extra pitcher and someone has to go down to get tuned up uh offensively you never know you’re maxed out at 13 pitchers though oh that’s true that’s true you got too many numbers in my head here Randy sorry about that sorry about that so the Cardinals will play the Reds again tonight at the Ballpark uh 6:45 start and three games left and and we talked about it yesterday I mentioned that the old dick ver analogy addage applied I think you have to keep those teams below you down and Cincinnati is one of those teams and Pittsburgh is right behind him too that’s another one uh the Milwaukee Brewers win again last night so it’s going to be a fun race as we start the second half yeah the Reds came in having lost 10 of their last 15 so you have to be able to take care of business against them miles michelas he’s not going to be perfect he’s actually been pretty decent and solid in his last six starts but last night I mean the command was just not there so he even said it himself you guys know how miles Michaelis is in his postgame comments he said yeah I stunk and it was just not a great outing for him whatsoever so hopefully he’ll be able to bounce back because who is your number two essentially in the star rotation in your eyes Gibson yeah I would have gone michelis recently just because of the success that he’s had but I flip a coin between the two for me yeah and then that is the odd outing for michelas I’m not too worried about it every great pitcher and he’s not great he’s he’s okay he’s he’s a pretty good pitcher but every great pitcher endures that once a month they’re going to have a clunker and that was a clunker for him and the other part of last night they had chances early on they they definitely had chances and with runners in scoring position they have not been great so uh that’s something to kind of look at the game last night it wasn’t just michelis but the offense had their opportunities early on and if you score early on maybe it’s a different game we also almost saw Brandon Crawford pitch in the game but of course that didn’t happen because the Cardinals tacked on some runs a little bit later here’s a question from the 618 so tired of letting pitchers stay in there when clearly obviously he doesn’t have what it he doesn’t have it just to save the bullpen save it for what tomorrow we start the second half of the season in these games against the Reds we should be winning you have to save your Bullpen though just answered your own question you do you unfortunately that is part of baseball is if if you start the second half of the season and in the second half of the Season all of your Bullpen arms are used up that you aren’t going to win and they’ve got a lot of double headers coming up in the second half of the Season they’ve got one day off I believe since from now until the All-Star break so makes sense to bring up a fresh arm and you have Palante going today y right a couple of other notes for you the NFL losing their antitrust suit in La they are right now PRI prior to any appeal and the NFL will appeal this judgment uh they are the hook for $4.7 billion for those who purchased NFL Sunday Ticket between 2011 and 2016 this is Monumental it is this is huge this is going to affect everybody that watches the NFL and it kind of flew under the radar and now that this judgment has come out it is huge for the viewers of the NFL the lawsuit claimed that the league broke Anti-Trust laws by selling its package of Sunday games at an inflated price the subscribers also said the league restricted competition by offering Sunday Ticket only on a satellite provider and not on free TV now there are apparently some aspects to this case that would perhaps allow it to be reversed on appeal but I I read a lot of stories about this and most legal people believe that this is going to hold up and an Anti-Trust suit award is tripled so not only will the NFL be on the hook for the 4.7 billion but it’ll be more like 13.8 billion ion dollar that they’ll have to pay to the people that bought Direct TV during those times there’s a busy time in LA a guy named bronnie got drafted too and I know this is a big deal okay and and people are complaining about it but here’s what I think see I’m not I’m on the other side now you think it’s a big deal no I I I thought you were going to say it’s a big deal in a negative way that why draft him it’s a father something I think it’s great it’s the 55th pick in the draft don’t worry about the 55th pick in the draft or the last guy on your roster okay LeBron James is in a position to bestow a gift upon his son that nobody in the history of the world has ever been able to bestow upon somebody else a spot on a professional roster and you do get the ancillary benefit of those two playing together at times in blowout games at the end of games where the win or the loss is already in hand there are no downsides to this unless you just don’t like the idea of LeBron James exercising his power and having NEP ISM take place Welcome to the Real World okay let me tell you something my son has a job because I went to my buddy and said hey can you get my my son an internship at Fox Sports Midwest that’s why my son has a full-time job because we welcome thank you very much but he but he had earned it I I mean I knew Patrick he was awesome I said we have to hire this guy and we will forever be thankful and LeBron he he said during the season last year in January he said bronnie could play for us right now on the Lakers so he believes his son can play so big deal I think it’s actually a good story I’m look I guarantee you I’ll be watching when those two get on court together sure yeah I think it’s awesome and it’s not to say that this kid isn’t a good Prospect either um he’s 6′ one he’s got a wingspan of like 67 or something like that you got to remember he missed all that time because of the cardiac situation that he had apparently in the NBA draft camps he he looked good and uh I I think it’s a good thing for the sport I think it’s good thing for NBA fans if he had not gone to USC if we had high schoolers coming out in the draft he would have been a first round pick probably right is that true yeah that’s probably right what was it four points last year and maybe three rebounds per game I believe as a sixth man yeah I think I think that that’s probably the issue that some people have is the nepotism there now to your credit and what with what you’re saying LeBron and the father son Duo that’s something that has never happened in NBA history so that’ll be really cool to see but I think that some times people have we talk about Mo fatigue do you think that some people get LeBron fatigue because we’ve seen him exercise his power so much you have JJ reck who had the podcast LeBron now he’s going to be the head coach for him now you have his son getting drafted with he’s where he’s with the Lakers of course LeBron’s going to stay with the Lakers I think we can all say that that’s 100% going to happen now I think that maybe that’s probably some of the issues that people have LeBron power fatigue but you’re right nepotism is something that’s real it’s everywhere look at Jerry Jones and his daughter I mean it’s every single sport it’s in every single business I don’t think that that means that a lot of people enjoy it though the best number 55 Selections in NBA draft history Mark ivarone Mark blunt Kenny gadison and etan Moore are the best number 55 selections ever in the history of the draft some really big names so uh he he’s a first of all he’s one of the greatest players if not the greatest player that the NBA has seen MH he’s also one of the great ambassadors of the sport he’s been great as a face of in my opinion the face of the sport face of the NBA he’s done a lot of different things that have been good for the sport he’s the all-time leading score so what this happens as as Randy says 55th overall pick to play with your son I mean just think about that to be able to play and be the first ever to do it maybe the last I was thinking like is this ever going to happen again it’s so hard just to get to be a professional much less to have your son be a professional too and last that long yeah to to 40 yeah yeah he 39 it’s his 22nd season in the NBA can you believe that it’s incredible by the way Patty Mills also a 55th pick in the draft so Matthew likes his his Patty Mills so Luis skola 55th pick in the draft so uh okay so there there have been other number 55s that played but uh the odds are against bronny James or anybody who was taken 55th rather than bronnie James being great and he’s going to go to the G League he’s going to be playing in basically the G League a bunch and uh you know it’s it’s I to me it’s a great story and it it should be positive does the report from Bob Myers during the draft dirty the water a little bit that apparently Rich Paul was telling teams uh do not draft him because if you draft him we’re just going to send him to Australia yeah that’s fine it’s a 55th pick in the draft big deal so you don’t get your second rounder he goes to Australia screw LeBron that’s you know that’s that’s basically if if you are the uh Denver Nuggets and you take him at number 54 I don’t know who had the 54th pick but you trade for the Celtics had it Celtics I was ready for the Celtics to take I hate them so much for not doing that that would have perfect cowards yeah awesome take him and say fine go to Australia yeah we don’t we don’t need it we’re the Champions we don’t we don’t we don’t need you and uh you can go to Australia enjoy yourself if red arbach was the U let’s say running the show with the Celtics Tak he bronny would have been a Celtic yesterday you could have done a crossover with the current Game of Thrones show and just put like the prince in green green and you would have you would have sent Twitter over the edge and cowards cowards total cowards to answer your question though I think it does muddy the waters a little bit I think it’s a fair thing to bring up in that situation but we all knew what was going to happen I was waiting to see though if NBA team would try to make it a little bit spicier in that situation it would have been fun I would have enjoyed that if he got selected by another team some I was waiting for the Celtics to do it but that shows the power that LeBron has in the league yeah no doubt and especially with his franchise because he very today is the day that he has to opt in or opt out and if he doesn’t if bronny doesn’t get taken by the Lakers he’s saying well how committed are you guys to me and maybe he signs with the Warriors or something you imagine if he Ops out and says I’m just going to give bronnie the best chance he can and not have nepotism be a part of this yeah good luck we’re off and running here on this edition of the opening drive on 101 ESPN coming up how does it benefit Drew banister to have a new veteran an assistant like 64 year-old Claude Julian that’s next on 101 ESPN e e e e e from day one and this is what made this process so difficult for me is that I was explicitly looking for someone that was a head coach in the NHL and like at the end of the day this isn’t about me this is about the team and make the team better and making our staff better but also in my own development I’m in this game to continue to grow and get better and that that’s what excites me so much about clo if I was insecure about myself as a coach and that that I wasn’t able to do the job I would have probably just hired an assistant coach you know but I I’m hiring somebody that I I truly believe in and I truly believe uh is going to make us a better team blu’s head coach Drew banister yesterday in the fast lane as he talked to uh Jamie rivers and Carri Davis yesterday the blues and Drew Bannister named Claude Julian as an assistant coach Claude Julian 64 he has spent 20 years as an NHL head coach he was a head coach of a staning Cup champion team in 2011 with Boston went back to the finals in 2013 also led the Montreal Canadians to the finals in the bubble back in 2020 and when Drew banister couches it the way he just did I was looking for a head coach to help me that is the reason that I think you hire Claud Julian and I think the blues at times have lacked that sort of an assistant coach and by the way they did promote Steve ought to associate coach yesterday so he gets a promotion as well but Claude Julian will I I would hope have a a level hand and be able to kind of settle things down behind the bench when things are going a little bit crazy the biggest thing there is that you’re adding a lot of experience as you mentioned over 20 years of coaching experience and he has the resume to go with it including the Stanley Cup as you mentioned my first question when I saw this is okay who was behind the hiring and Drew banister just answered that when he was with the fast lane he said that I you noticed that that he was talking about that he was a part of this hiring process I think that’s a big key word there because sometimes when you see oh wow somebody with a lot of head coaching experience coming in what does this mean for that current coach and it shows that he was a part of this process so I’m curious because you have this youth movement of course you have some veteran players on this team but you have this youth movement coming in with the blues The Experience pays off but how do you think that he connects with those younger players I I would think that one of the things that the blues need to concern themselves with is how the young players connect with a veteran coach like this because they had such a bad experience with Craig McTavish a couple of years ago now Craig McTavish had not coached in a long time and the game had passed him by Claud Julian has stayed with the sport but the reality of the situation is the 202 22y old athlete is way different now than it was when he was winning with the Bruins 10 years ago even 5 years ago when he was the head coach of the Montreal Canadians times have changed players have changed that would be my only concern is how much is his interaction with the players going to affect how good they become because one thing Old School coaches do and I’m sure that he has in the past is tell players what to do and one of the things that Ken Hitchcock learned I asked him one time the biggest difference between coaching at the beginning of his career and towards the end of his career and he said I used to be able to tell a player what to do and he would do it now I tell a player what to do and he asks why and you have to be able to explain why to players now and maybe he comes in with the ultimate respect to on the flip side because he does have all of this experience I think it’s a great move and it tells me that Drew banister is very comfortable and where he’s at in his own skin being able to bring a guy in that’s won a Stanley Cup to be uh serving as his assistant and let’s let’s face it too Drew banister doesn’t have a ton of NHL experience as a coach and and so to get a different set of eyes on his team and a guy that has that kind of experience I think is very important and the bl’s vice president of hockey operations Peter Chelli was the general manager in Boston he hired Claude julan for the job there and they worked closely together in Boston for those Stanley Cup Championship and Stanley Cup uh finals teams that’s the big thing is one this is a great hire and we were looking at the search that was kind of open for a little bit of course Drew was one of the candidates when Doug Armstrong was making an official in his decision of who would be the next head coach taking that interm tag off we talked about needing that experience with the blues and their coaching staff because if you go with Drew banister great great job he did with the younger players but that experience was something that was needed amongst their coaching staff because you have a lot of younger guys on there so you answer that question with this and also does it answer another question of maybe how Doug Armstrong and the blues see themselves when it comes to that window of maybe getting into another possibility of winning a cup that’s that was going to be my next point because Doug Armstrong brought up when they announced Drew banister as the permanent head coach he said we didn’t want to go after a championship head coach right now because to paraphrase this team isn’t ready and the NHL has morphed into a league where we’ve got training head coaches and Championship head coaches uh Paul Maurice was a guy that uh when Florida hired him the they thought that they had the window open to win a championship and they did I wonder now if Drew Bannister is the training head coach and Claude Julian is the championship head coach oo that’d be that’d be tough to bring him in right now and and say that that’s where I’m like with Drew banister he must be very comfortable in his own skin in a good way to sit there and say I’m putting my ego aside and I’m not bringing in these uh guys that are younger and not ready to be head coaches or whatever the case may be but I’m trying to win right now it’s kind of like in baseball Ali said repeatedly and I I’ve talked to him privately about this bring in Albert if Albert wants to come in bring in yachty and everybody’s saying well make these guys the managers of the team and he was like look I’m just trying to get the best experience I can on my bench I think that’s the same thing as it relates to Drew Bannister saying this guy’s got a great resume we need him here and it’s something that I can benefit from and hopefully the blues will and they draft tonight by the way the NHL draft is this evening and it’s in Vegas at the sphere I’ll be interested to see if the blues keep their pick at number 16 or if they make some moves tonight why aren’t we at the sphere we could have been doing this live in Vegas you know that would have been a lot of a lot of fun did you guys speaking of the NHL did you guys even know that the NHL awards were going on last night no idea no idea until I saw some clips online I was like wait a minute this is happening I feel like sometimes the NHL doesn’t do a great job of really promoting their big events which personally I don’t like watching award shows anyways but I honestly had no clue that it was going on did uh did McDavid win MVP I was watching the debate I was going back and forth B and the debate yeah I would say the ratings for the NHL uh award show probably not real high probably not great Nationwide I think Dan Caesar had it in the post dispatch that the NBA ratings for the finals were not very good this year maybe bottom of the top markets in in the U in the cities or Ross the country here in St Louis yeah wow McKinnon did Nathan McKinnon by the way won the won the hard trophy congratulations to Nate who else you got there Randy Conor Bard Rookie of the Year no surprise there nope Conor Huck thez Quinn Hughes named the Norris Trophy winner so there you have it those are all your winners there you go I’m in why don’t they have a grety award should be yeah they well they have retired 99 across the league that’s a pretty good honor good honor uh coming up here on 101 ESPN there’s more golf more Chevrolet and Johnny LOL Autoplex see them at lol.com Chevy together we drive are you kidding [Music] [Applause] [Music] me PJ tour is in Detroit this weekend for the rocket mortgage classic and then next weekend Fourth of July weekend it’s the John Deere classic as we move closer to the season’s fourth major the open coming up in later July Jay deling joins us here on 101 ESPN former PGA tour pro host of golf with Jay delsing along with Danny Mack on Sundays here on the station Jay how you doing this morning I’m doing well how are you guys we’re doing great and I I would think for uh you had a great career but you you were never the number one player in the world this is the kind of weekend the rocket mortgage classic next weekend John Deere where you can make a name for yourself on the PGA tour isn’t it oh yeah absolutely nobody’s pissed that Scotty Sheffer took the week off nobody and and so it it’s um it’s it’s interesting because when you go to you know you play in the midwest at this time of year because it’s gotten so hot the scores are absolutely just super low because you got to keep the greens alive so there’s going to be they’re just going to be really really watered down and um man if you if you’re not in the 20s you’re you’re not going to get a victory Jay last night we had a lot going on especially with the presidential debate not to Trail off too much into politics but I think one thing that was very funny and interesting that a lot of people could relate to is people arguing over their golf handicaps are you surprised that they were going back and forth about that I’m surp oh man where do you start with that debacle last night I I I oh man I’m not a fan of either one of those guys but we’re going to have to vote for one of them I thought it was a riot I mean it was like who’s who’s going to lie more first you know it was like everybody was just taking a shot I’ve had some friends play with Donald Trump and this is what it looks like I hit his ball out of bounds hit his next ball in the water his next one down the Fairway hit it on the green made the putt give me a three that’s that’s how Donald Trump that sounds like just about every golfer does yeah I know it’s this new system of counting it’s like it’s kind of like the convenient hearing that we once in a while have you know it’s like I didn’t hear that I’m not going to count that let’s just keep going I I want to ask you about Scotty Sheffer we talked about this earlier in the week will we reflect on what he’s doing and not give him enough credit because Live players aren’t a part of it like five or 10 years from now do we reflect and say well he was great had that run but D Shambo wasn’t a part of it Mickelson and P Reed and Dustin Johnson and all these big names in the game of golf yeah no that Danny I think that that’s a great point and you listen there’s only been one guy in the history of golf that’s ever won six championships before July and his name’s Arnold Palmer and what I I think the biggest thing that that happens is how long are we GNA stay divided I mean the men’s game is so screwed up and we just had our buddy Seth W who who was the CEO of the the PJ of America resign and I sent him a text I said man I hope you take a plane and go directly to Jacksonville because we could use your help we just I just feel like the tour is really lacking strong leadership I there’s not a real Direction and now we’ve got the Saudis involved and they’ve got all this money and it’s just muddy in the water and uh and making it confusing and I think the the the question is a great one because if this thing stays divided for four five six years then I think this thing really has that argument really has some legs but if we can get ourselves back together Danny and we can get you know get this thing where Bry and D Shambo is competing all the time with Scotty Sheffer and Brooks kepa’s in the mix all the time and and John Rah is back in doing his thing I think it it becomes a mood argument but man the longer we stay out the more it’s you know it’s real Jay what does Seth W do and how does his departure as the president of the PGA of America affect what we see on a annual or or monthly or weekly basis well I think what Seth did you know Seth used to run Deutsche Bank and he’s always been a huge supporter of the game of golf and I think what Seth did was just take the the PGA of America was not in bad shape by any means but he just took it to a different level Randy he enhanced a lot of the retirement programs for the for the golf professionals so for the folks that are listening to don’t understand the difference between the PJ tour and the PJ of America the PJ of America has 30,000 person a men and women organization and they’re at the driving ranges and the golf courses and the municipal courses any places you know that where there’s a golf course the these PGA of America folks are organizing the game getting the golf course ready running tournaments Etc the PGA Tour is the the playing part of of you know the tournament and the competition part and the the the PJ of America does own the PGA Championship and so what Seth did is he one of the biggest things he did Randy was he moved the national headquarters from West Palm Beach into Frisco Texas and put together this Blockbuster deal with the Omni uh Hotel families um in Frisco and built two championship golf courses there in Frisco and this thing I have not been there yet but from what I understand it is a worldwide destination it’s it’s got just phenomenal family um attractions and a lot of golf and a lot of other things for for people to do and so those were some of the things that said he just brought a a higher level of organization and things I think to the PGA of America and definitely left it in a better spot and I don’t know what he’s going to do next but I hope he sticks around in golf because we could sure use them Jay we always talk about waiting for the newer younger faces coming into the golf world and there’s definitely a younger one that we will see this week miles Russell 15 years old got an invite to the rocket mortgage class CL after making the cut in a corn fairy Tour event earlier this year what do you think about the 15-year-old making it that’s amazing it is absolutely amazing I saw this kid and you know you just look around and the the training and and you know what I think it really is you guys it’s the money the the money has made golf such an attractive uh sport now and we’re getting better athletes playing it because your career expectancy you know if you’re going to play football you’ve got a career expectancy of less than years and all these other sports are are much less shelf life than professional golf and it’s it’s it’s awesome and I gotta tell you this kid that’s leading the tournament is probably not a household name but he soon will be his name is Aki baa and he was the number one ranked amateur in the world guys and instead of going to college and he could have played for any college in the entire country he decided to turn pro and start trying to play professional golf and he’s already won twice on the regular tour he’s w won once or twice on the corn fery tour and if you look at this kid he’s he he absolutely smashes the ball but you guys he’s 6 foot one and he weighs 130 I’m like dude you don’t even have a shadow he is so thin but man he is really really a good player and and so um uh it’ll be F it’ll be fun to watch his growth I’ve been following him for the last three or four years and it’s really been fun to watch him develop this weekend on the show you got Alli Wells runs the a section of the PGA teacher from Elevate golf as well and we have World Golf Hall of Famer Lee Travino which is going to be fun jay what stands out about Lee he just he just talks so much and and and you know it’s like you you’ll roll one question out and just make sure you don’t run out of tape I mean I know we don’t use tape anymore but he was he’s funny you guys because I told his story um there was a guy named Mike Hill back in the day that was playing with Lee and he went up to Lee on the first and said Lee I don’t feel like talking today Lee said that’s perfect because all you got to do is listen because all Lee do is talk nonstop and uh it’s funny he used to have this cat of you guys his name was Herman Mitchell and Mitch weade if Mitch weigh one pound he weighed 350 and M was also a character and these guys would have this banter going back and forth it was almost like a skit I’m like do you guys practice this because they would you know Lee would be hitting balls and talking while he’s hitting and Mitch would be telling a joke or a story and and I mean before you knew it there were 10 or 15 of the the younger kids like me on the tour back then you know just listening and trying to figure out what the heck’s going on he is an Entertainer uh calls himself the Mary Mech and he is man guys when this guy um you got to remember back in 1975 he actually got struck by lightning he was playing up in Chicago B National and he got struck by lightning and he he talks a little bit about that story it’s it’s pretty crazy because I don’t know struck getting struck by lightning doesn’t sound like a whole hell of a lot of fun hey Jay we’re going to be off next Friday because of the the 5th of July we’re off on the 4th and the 5ifth and we’ll talk about this when you come back after that but the open starts on the 18th at Royal trun does anything in Scotty sheffler’s game obviously everything in Scotty sheffler’s game allows him to be great but Royal trun is a is a weird Golf Course does anything that Scotty does benefit him Ley at a place like Royal trun I’m not sure because I I don’t see him play a lot of Link style courses I know he’s won over in Europe before but you know he did not have a great US Open championship and a lot of the the way Piner number two was playing is similar it’s not the same but it’s similar to a links kind of style golf course because the greens are so rolly and you have to hit so many little bump and run shots around there so it’s really going to be interesting when you go to an Open Championship Randy it always is weather dependent right you go over there and and I remember the first time I went over there and it was blowing 20 miles an hour and I’m like wow it’s windy and they’re like this is a weer or whatever the hell they call it over then and I was like they were right because the next day it blew about 30 or 35 so it really just depends on the weather if they get if they get if it stays calm it won’t matter but if it’s windy then it’s GNA really rely on his short game and he’s a great Scrambler with his wedge around the greens but his putting it’s not the it’s not the greatest it’s definitely the weakest part of his game so I don’t see that benefiting him if the weather gets really nasty I know there’s history there this is the last thing the great history of the courses over there but do you like that do you do you like that playing that kind of course I’ve never played it but I can’t imagine that I would be enthralled playing it I I think it’s it’s there Randy it’s it’s so crazy so when the first time I went and played Cari which is one of the hardest courses I’ve ever played I sat out in front of I think it was a third or fourth green and I had five balls I was just doing my practice round and I hit a 60 degree wedge I hit an eight iron I hit a four iron and I hit a Putter and all four of my balls wound up in right about the same spot well there’s so many options over there it you know what though you’re you’re kind of right because at first you go this is kind of dumb I mean why don’t you water this because they don’t water the golf courses they get if it it’s if it’s a rainy season the courses will be green if it’s not rainy that course looks like a Triscuit you know it’s brown and dry and runny and so but it you it’s it’s really what more the way golf was meant to be played it’s kind of the way you find it it’s like well we haven’t had any rain so good luck to you guys cuz the ball will just just roll everywhere and Randy the fairways are so irregular the ball bounces it it does some crazy stuff and they have this stuff called gorch which I happen to find out and uh it was not not not much fun playing you don’t you don’t even want to stick your hand in there there’s all sorts of stickers and things like that so I’m like yeah let’s just leave that ball hey Jay have a a great weekend we’ll be tuned in on Sunday and have a great Fourth of July okay you guys too appreciate you thank you brother that’s Jay deling with us on 101 ESP looking forward to Sunday Lee trino so entertaining yeah so we we already did that uh that interview and the one thing I asked him about I said what did you think about your appearance in Happy Gilmore remember he made an appearance in happy I thought he would come out and say I loved it it was great you know great exposure for the game he didn’t like it he said he’s barely watched it he think he said he watched it one time or maybe he hadn’t watched it at all and he said because of the language that was used in the movie he said I don’t know if that’s good for young kids and I don’t really like that but I was was shocked to hear him say that but he is I mean he’s instant energy and he talks about being struck by lightning and he is uh for he had a really short career but for as short a career as he had it was as dominant as what we’re seeing with sheffler and Tiger Woods and some of the others he was he was great so I think people will enjoy it looking forward to that on Sunday coming up get your text into the Air Comfort Service text line 314 399 9646 314 399 Yoo boy you do that and you look right to me yeah I do every time every hav have many opportunities today to do have you I do have an opportunity later if you’d like to wait no let’s do it a weekend edition of yoh ho I just I no there’s no singing with this one there’s no go ry’s pushing to see if you get a little bit more for the weekend just very simple very happy the weekend is here you set that standard when you sang to us and now we expect it every once in a while you see you got to you got to just pick your spots pick your spots with that you can’t always just do it next time 101 ESPN e e e e e e e final author take it or leave [Music] [Applause] [Music] it Brook Dan Matthew and Randy we mentioned earlier that the NFL lost a $4.7 billion class action suit to people who had purchased NFL Sunday Ticket this on the heels of losing the $790 million settlement to the here in St Louis and $685 million to players in the concussion lawsuit take it or leave it the NFL needs some new lawyers I’m going to take it that’s a good point or just a thought stop committing crimes that’s a good one too oh that might be harder for no I don’t know yeah how much are those lawyers making they’re doing pretty well yeah I had a lawyer here told me when he going against the National Football League lawyers he said he couldn’t believe how bad they were he said there’s so many better attorneys here in St Louis than these New York and Washington guys said they come in and they charge $1,000 an hour and they look great in their suits but they just don’t have a clue and I’m sitting in the courtroom thinking the exact same thing I’m thinking I’m not a lawyer but man these guys are really it’s almost like they think and they say to the judge well of course we didn’t do anything wrong we’re the National Football League it it’s amazing to me is how many hits they can take of billions of dollars yeah it’s incredible isn’t it and they take the hits and just keep on rolling and it’s not like it’s you know going to ruin the league it’s they keep on rolling they’ve got more money and they know what to do with but the amazing thing is is this 4.7 if if it’s not overturned on appeal 4.7 billion trebled because it’s an Anti-Trust decision so that’ll wind up being a $14.1 million $ 14.1 billion doll hit that the league will have to take incredible that is crazy all right we talked the other day about shotani needing to speak to reporters more he must listen to our show all the way out in LA because he did speak the other day and he said that he’s interested in the Home Run Derby but the Dodgers and their trainers of course are kind of a little reluct reluctant to clear it take it or leave it the Dodgers need to make this happen I I would leave it I I wouldn’t mess with his swing one bit I don’t want him getting hurt I don’t want anything to do with it if I’m the Dodgers it’s don’t get me wrong it’d be great for baseball it’d be great TV it’d be great TV but I don’t care I’m worried about my player and I’m not messing up his swing he’s already dealing with he’s he’s recovering from Tommy John surgery even though he’s doing all this hitting no I don’t want him messing around with the health or the swing so I’m going to keep him out of it too Jimmy Edmond competed in the Home Run Derby maybe once or twice I know once for sure and he came back and he was telling me a few years ago that it completely messed up his body completely messed up his swing wow so I I I just think there’s something to that I wouldn’t even mess with it I just say look I know Major League Baseball wants it it’d be great for the sport but we are worried about the Dodgers and I want nothing to do with it what I would say yeah that he’s still recovering from surgery I don’t know I the thing is is that that’s the only thing I enjoy watching honestly during the whole allstar game weekend and all that stuff that’s the only thing I enjoy watching is a home run derby you’re telling me you wouldn’t enjoy the slider low and Away Contest no I’m sorry that’s it’s kind of hard to watch H you you’ll watch if he’s leading off for the national league as their designated hitter right yeah in the game it’s just that it’s become not as exciting I feel like it’s one of the less exciting ones all right take it or leave it with bronnie James being drafted we should give the Griffies more attention and more credit for being one of the greatest sports families in the history of sports 100% TI yeah take it I mean bronnie is a guy that’s going to come off the bench as you mentioned probably last guy off the bench King griffy Jr is a Hall of Famer and to do what they did together both being the same Outfield that’s just incredible they’ve done it Ken griffy Senor was a starter on the Big Red Machine exactly you know he was he was pretty damn good in his own right too he was yeah real good Yankee so and was still an effective player heck he was good enough to hit a home run back to back with his son right pretty Co yeah they went back to back yeah I think it’s a really good question about the best sports families there’s a shot of of those guys um when King Griffey Jr comes over from center field in left field and cuts the ball off from his dad on a catch and just smiles and runs off the field and senior’s like you little what are you doing buddy yeah I love it pretty cool uh Matthew do you did you have a comment there we did the uh we did a bracket we did um about a year yeah a year and a half ago it was the best sports families and we had it was either brothers or father fatherson Combos and I think they we give it to the bonds I think so I think the bonds might have beat out the the Griffies yeah that’s a good one Mannings have to be up there you have the cool factor of togetherness but then the just the hard stats of the bonds kind of eventually went out I think hard to beat the stats Tommy a The Three deio Brothers the ELO yeah four elo y you had Maddie Hade we had a hockey you had Moises and you had boo yeah we had a hockey football baseball Division and then I think we did a other cuz we we couldn’t find enough NBA ones we had like some like track and field and wrestling now we’ll have the James and now we have the James the amazing thing is baseball guys can last until they’re 39 or 40 in basketball to do it it’s just incredible what he’s doing incredible all right mat what do we got on the text line sorry I just thought about the molas I know that not but just the family on there take it or leave it to Brook’s Point MLB uh doing an oldtimers game instead of the All-Star game is that you is that you’re just saying idea watch that yeah I watch I I think the old clips are so cool to watch and the fact that they I’ve never gotten to like see those in like my Heyday like that that hasn’t been going on throughout my entirety of my 20s has always bummed me out I wish they had an old Tim day at wish Stadium they used to yeah they used to bring some of the guys back and let them play a few Innings before a game there are enough guys that are still in shape from recent Cardinal Seasons like within the last 10 to 15 years you’d throw them out there and people would love it yeah Larry Walker and right Jeff suan pitching you know do something fun like that that would be really fun yeah let’s do it there was an old- game in Houston one time the year after Terry P had retired from the Astros and Bob Gibson was pitching in it and P took him deep in his first at bat and Gibby came back in pool’s second at bat and buzzed him with like an 89 mph fastball at the age of 58 or something still thr hard hard enough yeah old ERS games are great by the way it just flew completely over you guys head that there was were four Alo Brothers right M Felipe Maddy Jesus and boo oh yeah I wasn’t paying attention we haven’t we haven’t had our breakfast yet isn’t there going didn’t didn’t Gibson throw out the guy who uh his last game homered off of him like old game he came back around and said like 30 years after the guy homered on him threw at him which is just the most insane thing I think an athlete might have ever done like on on a field that’s bananas that’s a jordanes chip on the shoulder there Tak it or Le It the Blues have an NHL awards finalist next season and Brook and we all watch it oh we all watch it not the only one watching it that’s why we didn’t watch right guys because there wasn’t any bles players what about Coach of the Year no all right Ry didn’t even think about it for a second well they’re going to finish middle of the pack again they’re going to if you’re going to be coach of the year you got to finish with the top six or seven record in the league right just throwing it out there I know but I’m just saying you you wondered if we would have one no he just answered yeah the textas are paying better attention than us Randy what the textas are paying a lot better attention than us we got like four or five text like did Randy just say Boogaloo there we go thank you thank you Texas appreciate you take it or leave it let me just throw this out there uh with due respect to the blues players if the blues coach Drew banister and his staff get them to a top seven record in the NHL he should be coach of the decade coach of the decade Rand I just threw it out there I didn’t mean to you know ruffle feathers here no I’m just saying that the blues will not have a person in that my point was they probably wouldn’t have a player so I was trying to think of something else maybe Jordan Bennington maybe he just just uh goes crazy and wins you a bunch of games and gets you in the playoffs he should have been a bit V A finalist this year you can make the case for sure he was awesome we got we talked about this earlier Joel Hofer your favorite Joel hoer is the appropriate name there but he got four votes for the Calder Trophy pretty good pretty pretty good for the Calder huh not bad okay yeah taking her leave it Ronnie at some point goes on a date with Lara piffen oh oh no look at look at look at what you’ve done you got ready for our worst one take her leave it you didn’t have LeBron James pulling a Delante West on his own teammate no I’m not going to joke about Delante West anymore oh I do feel really bad for him I really do I seriously they’re bad mug shots you can do what you want Randall you can do what you want this stuff that you go down with uh pi of all the jokes I thought you’d like I thought I thought you’d appreciate the Delante totally love it great all right we’ll get back I hope not there’s no way LeBron I’m sure is guarding bronnie very closely he’ll be living at home yeah is that another reason why he wanted him on the team so he could keep away from that protect him po poor kid take keep him from Larsa that’s what I saying she has a type of younger way younger men take it or leave of Jordan Walker will he brought up by the next home stand uh uh though uh so congratulations to jdub well what do you got to see to get him up here probably more power more Gap to Gap and consistency in that regard and if he does that then he’ll be here yeah by the way is the PPP and Sun still on the Lakers would it be weird to be dating your teammate’s mom okay Delante West did it what I’m saying Randy you guys are awful Randy come on I’m just saying there that’s on the grizzly and their g-league team this last year Scotty J crisis ofed there thank you Matthew thank you Randy coming up here on1 ESPN speaking of Jordan Walker should the Cardinals even consider trading him under any circumstances that’s next time 101 ESPN e e e e e e e e e e 808 in St Louis time check brought you by Clarks of Jewelers and officially licensed Rolex Jeweler Brook Dan and Randy last year before the season started Jordan Walker by pretty much every account among the Major League rankings was a top five Prospect in minor league baseball the Cardinals brought him up he started the season had a really nice stretch run last month and a half with the Cardinals and obviously as we know got off to a really bad start this year hitting 155 this year in the miners he already has 182 at bats now he has missed a couple of games recently apparently with back injuries I don’t know how long he’s been dealing with that about a week back okay thank you oh no and uh he’s after last night he had a double and a single he was two for four and Walker is hitting 264 with a 719 Ops three homers 17 runs batted in the Cardinals have shown over the past uh propensity to trade players that have really good skill sets and the Cardinals here we are a year after he was brought up this the the second time in 2023 and he’s not showing much signs of many signs of advancement so with that being the case if the Cardinals would be offered a potential number one starting pitcher like Garrick crochet who some people think is going to be traded the this season if the Cardinals would be offered a number one pitcher for Jordan Walker should they even engage in conversation or should they just press the end call button I think that they’re pressing the end call Button you can’t give up on Jordan Walker just yet he is 22 years old I think we have to remind ourselves about that that he is just 22 years old and this stuff happens we’ even seen remember Keith Hernandez he went through a sophomore slump I know that’s one example I’m not saying that Jordan Walker is going to be next Keith Hernandez but we see it all the time in baseball where you go through a sophomore slump and with Jordan Walker he just needs some more time to develop to season I think keeping him down on the miners at first I was against it but now I’m starting to understand a little bit more to one kind of get his mindset and confidence back up but kind of work on some things down in the minors where he’s not in the big Spotlight right now at 22 in the majors where he’s getting exposed a little bit there isn’t a chance I would do that not a chance none no nope not a chance he’s 22 he’s still if he was up in the big leagues he’d still be one of the youngest players in baseball I I understand there’s been some others that haven’t developed I don’t see that with him and he has a chance to potentially be the face of your franchise for 10 to 15 years the thing is the Cardinals had the a similar player not the same because he wasn’t a top five he was a top 15 Prospect there was a cold dead hands guy in Dylan Carlson who did finish third in the Rookie of the Year voting in 2021 and has not progressed ressed for whatever reason he has not progressed he’s not the only Cardinal young player that has not progressed and the Cardinals are really big on process rather than actual results and if he is not participating in the process the way that they want and that’s what we’re hearing and he’s actually saying that he doesn’t want to change much I I think the Cardinals have to read the room and find out and determine among themselves is he ever going to be for us what his skill set would tell us he can be and if not and if you can get a number one quality starter I mean you’re talking about a horse in crochet you’re talking about a 66 245 pounder he was a first-rounder in the same draft that Jordan Walker was a first-rounder and this year he’s dominant at the major league level he’s exactly what you’re looking for and he just turned 25 a week ago today those guys don’t grow on trees and if I could get a picture like that because don’t have that guy in my system I’ve got Gordon grao coming up to be in my Bullpen I’ve got Cooper zery I’ve got Michael McGreevy who threw seven shutout Innings last night for Memphis I don’t have anywhere in my system a 66 245 pounder that is a horse that can be a number one number and oh by the way he’s left-handed he can be a number one number one how else do you get those guys unless you have a top five pick in the draft I do understand that it’s a double-edged sword especially with everything that we’ve seen with the Cardinals because on one one hand or on one end of the sword you have the whole situation of okay we hold on to guys for too long I know exactly what you’re talking about you brought up the cold dead hand situation with Dylan Carlson and then that value dissipates but then you also have on the other side of the sword the fact of where we’ve seen a lot of times the Cardinals give up on young players who have that potential and then what do they do elsewhere what are we talking about why did the Cardinals not give them a full chance with Jordan Walker he was a first round pick you have to have these first round picks work out you we’ve seen that situation with them there’s a lot of guys right now Zack Thompson being another one you have to have these first rounders work out Jordan Walker has that potential he’s just 22 years old and no offense with the crochet situation don’t you think that they would want more than Jordan Walker in that trade it wouldn’t just be Walker straight up I I think Jordan Walker’s an absolute stud yeah I I think any team if you offered him if he was dangling out there they’d find packages to work now if you’re the car I’m going to play along okay so first of all I think there’s Absol abely no way but if you did just playing along with talk radio we need to do this okay so I got to find a guy to be potentially his replacement and part of this deal yeah you do you already have it so you got to do that and then this comes down to years of control I’ve got to have years of control not only with one player I got to have multiple players with years of control if I’m giving up this type of talent because I think he’s going to be an absolute stud I I still think that way and crochet it’s three years I think yeah you’ve got 20 uh he doesn’t become a free agent he’s got two more years after this year 25 and 26 so yeah you you have to keep him around but here’s the other thing about the Cardinals you’ve got Chase Davis tearing it up down in the miners you’ve got Gorman who you love apparently you’ve got new bar you’ve got uh burles uh plus you’ve got arnado under contract through 27 so you’ve got bats in your system do you have a Jordan well you don’t know what the Jordan Walker bat is so uh you’ve got already here at the major league level that are producing at the major league level I didn’t even mention Brendan Donovan so you you’ve got a lot of bats and you might even have a bat that’s as good as Jordan Walker as it turns out what if you had Walker though at some point being the Jordan Walker that you think he’s going to be he usurps those other players so those other players become the secondary player and he’s not considered the secondary player he’s considered a Cornerstone he’s shown he can do it in the big leagues too had stretches where it’s been there so uh I’m not going to use the cold hands reference I’m just going to say there’s no way cuz I don’t want you don’t want to curse it I’m sitting there saying don’t talk in absolutes but I’m talking in absolutes there’s no way I would do it Chase Davis is another reason I’m sure of what you’re thinking about the future and looking at things of course we don’t know what he would look like in the majors as well but another question I have for you is part of your thinking and you’ve talked about this we’ve discussed this on air a lot the concern about the Cardinal’s ability to develop players now I think Alec burlson is another kind of Point here when it comes to the way that it takes time for guys to get going look at burlson and how he’s been able to develop over the years and you got to give him credit they’re developing him I mean that’s one of the guys they developed he’s in their system Mason wi in their system they they’re developing him Nolan Gorman is a 30 home run potential guy developing him along with a lot of strikeouts and hitting around 200 I get it but you got to give them credit where credit’s due too on some of the others you absolutely do the the only reason that I’m I I would consider it is because I don’t think I have a number one starter in my system anywhere on my 40 man or in my system I don’t think I have that guy I would imagine it changes with the draft you know they they got a top pick coming up but then that top pick is not going to be around for a couple of years so there there’s some validity to that for sure unless you get a Paul skem type with the what they have the seventh pick this year seventh pick yeah so maybe he’s up next year but uh I I would like to have a guy now and and my question and they they’re the only ones that know this is he doing what they sent him to Memphis to do is Jordan Walker doing the launch angle pitch selection is he doing what they sent him to Memphis to do and are the peripherals showing that the analytics the saber metric look at this player and they every team has a different look at how they look and an and and analyze analytics some of it is very the same it’s across the board but with their particular system is it looking like they want it to look and that’s something that only they know to me this is and you guys both say no that’s the the game who says no with because I’m not so sure the White Sox would trade crochet for Jordan Walker either yeah I would say no that that’s where I’m going I I just I cannot give up on this young kid just yet and he’s still going to have even if he struggles this year and has some type of struggles struggles next year the upside with him is still enormous it’s enormous and teams would take a chance on that in a in a heartbeat he was the number one overall guy in the minor leagues and there’s value with that still even when you struggle there is but just think of the guys how the Cardinals thought that Tyler O’Neal was going to be that guy how they thought Alex Rees was going to be that guy how they thought Anthony Reyes was going to be that guy I mean the Cardinal history and I’m sure most organizations have it this way too is littered with players who were supposed harano Peña supposed to be Superstars that never worked out yeah it happens there there’s no question and I guarantee like you said there’s every team we could be making this case with some type of player they’ve had in their roster in their system that they said this is can’t miss um you remember Hector Cruz oh yeah Hector Cruz so the Cardinal back in the 70s they they would have cut off somebody’s right as Mike Mike Shannon used to say I get off get my right arm to be ambidextrous uh but the Cardinals would have given literally Bing divine’s right arm to get a right-handed hitter and they had a right-handed hitter Jose Cruz’s little brother Hector uh at the minor league level and he was supposed to be an absolute stud he was going to be one of the best hitters in the game they trade Ken re to San Francisco so they can bring Cruz up to play Third Base and he was an abject failure I mean he could not do a thing he couldn’t play and they evaluated him as a superstar and he just couldn’t play it and we do have a million guys like that historically I I just going back to it I the upside with him he’s 22 years old I think he’ll figure it out and he’ll wind up being main stay here for and I could be wrong but I I think he’ll be a main stay here for a lot of lot of years they say he’s their best Prospect since Pooles I just I I wish that they would have handled him differently because if he’s got problems launch angle pitch selection that should have been recognized at the minor league level before you ever got him up here or even the situation too that we’ve seen with him struggling in the Outfield I think that that’s something that also affected his confidence but they didn’t have him go into the Outfield until they traded Harrison B yeah so there’s been a lot there uh that’s Brooke that’s Dan I’m Randy and that is today’s fresh take coming up Benjamin Hawkman at a piece at STL today.com who is the biggest and best sports Personality in St Louis right now we’re going to give you our thoughts and we’ll surprise you with his next on Personality in St Louis and Benjamin writes quote our town has its share of delightful athletes who play for the Cardinals and blues and even the battle Hawks but City sc’s Indie vasilev I say anyway has the best personality in St Louis Sports we need to get Indie vasev on the show and I need to hear somebody that has a bigger and better personality than Kem Abdul Jabar oh my gosh that’s a good one Randy young man from slooh Yes uh slooh elinder that’s a good pick I thought about him yep I had thought about him he really was now I think it’s important he does note that this is his opinion I’ve talked to India before he’s very funny a quirky guy I would say is the best way to put it very quirky so this is hawkman’s opinion but respectfully and I like Hawkman a lot we played pickle ball together one of um he wasn’t out there yesterday but yes I have faced him oh yes have you ever lost to him have I ever lost to him probably we play a lot but you’ve lost to Benjamin hawman maybe maybe it it might have been you would remember Brook I don’t think I would maybe you would remember the losses it’s kind of like you with the fight you know you it’s just so many faces that I’ve beaten and it just kind of you remember the losses more than the wins Brooke that’s I just you know I flush it I it dreams that’s what pickle pickle ball dreams yes I I love pickle ball it’s a lot of fun had fun yesterday too with a lot of the writers so I will have to respectfully decline though because we’re talking about current St Louis Sports personalities I think I might actually have to go with Alec burlson I think that biscuit burlson is hilarious and I also look at when you go over to the Cardinals Clubhouse there’s always certain players who make themelves available and you heard Kyle Gibson the other day Alec burlson is always willing to talk and he has a great personality he’s super funny you can see why he’s really well-liked in the Cardinal Clubhouse right now I I’d go Mason win I think he’s going to develop into the face of this franchise and you look at how the Cardinals are using him marketing wise he’s all over the place he’s glib he’s fun to listen to he’s a great player um I I put him on my list and the other one if he could just stay on the field would have been large Nar oh yeah large Nar for me I I went baseball with this um it just seems like baseball is talked about every single day in this town so I went with a baseball player and two of the guys I’m thinking of are Mason win and Lars Newar good calls and yeah you can’t go wrong with win win win win he’s pretty good uh but another guy on the blues is Jake neighbors nabes is a funny glib great guy I think we’re lucky because you can pick one from every team and uh all of those choices are are really good we need to get Indy vasev on the show though Rock there’s your duty for the next week or so can you do it thumbs up he gives us oh yeah that’s and he’s a good talker that’s why he’s uh that’s why he got this uh this plotted from Mr Hawkman so yeah he he likes talking he’s he’s always fun to talk to when it comes to the city stuff so yeah we’ll get him on next week hopefully okay good and he is named after Indiana Jones by the way Indiana from Savannah yeah yeah I would say he has very quirky personality always available to talk to people he does have the best facial hair in St Louis sports that the handle must that you can’t argue right now and it’s I mean it’s good too it’s I mean it’s it’s well worn trust me it’s he’s got a he’s beating michelas right now in the mustache category Matthew you’re you’re talking to a town in which Alki current he is the current facial hair lead unequivocal that’s the current obviously okay yeah if you were doing like all time Al is in a level and League all his own then you just have the tournament for everybody else right I think so yeah he’s number one he’s got to be number one doesn’t he 100% I think another outlier in this one John Bia he had really good facial hair and he would play around with it had a great personality he did so we’re getting some texts in 636 Lance Lynn seems hilarious to me Justin fa mustache also gives me life hav thought about Justin folk stash yeah it’s pretty impressive does he count for the personality category I guess if you have a mustache you assume that you have a decent personality guess can’t anymore no I’ll give you a guy if you listen to this show that you would like a lot is K Gibson yes now he only goes every fifth day that’s a problem he’s not an everyday player but in terms of being out there being in the community he’s great on the air with us I really look forward to when he comes on I he’s a such a uh grounded guy and well spoken I think people appreciate that in this town yeah and by the way the recently retired Adam way W would be on that list too talk about personality he’d be number one fun yeah mhm being number one yeah he’d be great what about Jordan benington B is fun B is on my list much B is sneaky fun man he was so good at that trivia night uh he and he loves to throw it back in your face when you uh when you give him a little trouble he’s he’s very fun he’s he’s very Pronger resque do I look nervous yeah he’s great was he uh what what he he is one of those guys that’s quick witted yeah but slides it kind of under the you got to think about it sometimes with some of the stuff you do on this show Randall yeah that’s that’s the way bner is so we go to we got to get bner on on a regular basis he’s fun he’s really really a good guy he is he’s really F he said that he when they were playing at the World Championships that he was out to dinner with an NHL player and the the guy said you know what I’ve never met anybody that I had a feeling about that was more opposite than the way you really are because of the way bner is on the ice and as intense as he is but then he’s so chill and fun off the ice so it’s good that he plays in these International tournaments because he people find out what he’s really like can you imagine what it’s going to be like if wi continues to do what he’s doing in two or three years playing short stop with the arm and the production on the field and the fact that it looks like he welcomes being marketed this way by the Cardinals and uh I think it’s a great thing Blaze I love it get him on the commercials voiceovers whatever but have him be a true face of the franchise they they really haven’t had one for a while I mean you had Albert come back and but he hadn’t been here for a long time yachty was the guy but then after that it’s been a couple years so I have bestowed the name uh the Kingwood cannon on Mason wi His official according to baseball reference nicknames are either Blaze his middle name or the Energizer Bunny Energizer of course based right here in St Louis what do you prefer between Blaze or Energizer Bunny Blaze 100% Blaze is a great name yeah I’m going Blaze okay yeah good and how about the Lars Taylor tatsui Nar no go Lars yeah how about just Lars unique name anyway okay yeah just go Lars Lars it is you just want to say the Japanese name don’t you did I say right you did you did a great job thank you congratulations we hav leaning enough the fact that he he sounds like the villain from a Wily Wonka movie Lars Lars Newar sounds like he’d be the Rival chocolate maker to Wily Wonka oh man wasn’t Blaze on American gladi that’s his thing come on I think so so who would uh Kingswood Cannon F I’m just going to set you guys up for don’t let any tell you differently who who would be from the Willy Wonka movie on the Cardinals who would be the blueberry the blueberry I have no idea tell me everyone Advocate everyone just plead the fifth yeah probably should no one answer okay that’s not that’s not a good character I think okay so you’re trying to set us up for something aren’t you stop it I got another one what think what about Brendon Donovan Dy baseball he’s the leader he’d be one and as he emerges as he goes forward yeah I think he’d be a guy good calls yeah who was the biggest jokester in the Cardinal Clubhouse ever uh rebia probably well no BT BT did some stuff wasn’t Lance Lynn also a jokester and likes to play pranks on people Lance Lyn would be a really good one especially with the way he messes with the cat that be good one it’s fun Lyn’s great yeah uh coming up on 101 ESP we’ve got the fight Matthew you need a fighter yeah all right uh you can fight then all you need to do is text in 314 399 9646 314 399 yo with your name of first time facing Randy in the fight actually no I faced him back when Carrie was on the show he destroyed me so for a little Revenge well here we go Sheldon with question number one okay question number one Jaylen herdz tallied three rushing touchdowns in his one Super Bowl appearance but is still one short of the career record for the game which quarterback has four rushing touchdowns in their Super Bowl career is it Fran tarkon Patrick Mahomes or John Elway can you repeat the question sure I’m sorry Jaylen Herz tallied three rushing touchdowns in his one Super Bowl appearance but is still one short of the career record for the game game which quarterback has four rushing touchdowns in their Super Bowl career is it Fran Tarson Patrick Mahomes or John Elway so it’s not in one game it’s for their entire career give me uh give me Patrick Mahomes okay question two on this day in 1987 Don Baylor set a new Major League Baseball Mark for getting hit by pitch which recent Hall of Famer broke his record and currently holds the modern era record at 285 is it Derek Jeter Craig bigio or Larry Walker let’s go Jeter Derek Jeter it is on to question three when Claude Julian won his Stanley Cup as the head coach of the Bruins who did they beat in the final is it the Red Wings sharks or the Canucks looking up in question four who is the only left-handed hitter with 2,000 plus career RBIs is it Barry Bonds Tai Cobb or Babe Ruth uh I’ll go with Bond all right Sheldon it’s a Friday how you feeling going into the weekend oh I feel pretty good going into the weekend better than well well how old are you I am 28 okay so for me you’re young Sheldon I was going to try to avoid it because I feel like he’s probably heard that a lot probably well it’s funny he he made that same joke last time I was on oh my God I’m not creative but when I when I come up with one it’s really funny you’re not creative but you are consistent yeah there you go thanks sh you ready for question number one ready okay excuse me H that wasil Jaylen herdz tallied three rushing touchdowns in his one Super Bowl appearance but is still one short of the career record for the game which quarterback has four rushing touchdowns in their super bow Super Bowl career excuse me four rushing touchdowns in their Super Bowl career so Herz has won H well it certainly was obviously the the easy one here would be Brady um it wasn’t Kurt who started three wasn’t Bradshaw I don’t think who started four I don’t think Montana um so it’s uh well laway played in five I think I’m going to go with John Elway uh he started those three he had uh when the Giants one against the Redskins um one against San Francisco plus the Packers and Falcons ones so I think I’m going to go with u with John Elway all duar respect Randall you have no life oh you’re amazing you are it’s a backhanded compliment you are amazing well thank you Daniel this one’s for John okay you got that I did good no I mean this one joh oh yeah Pat come on Randall play along with me yeah all right question two here we go are you ready ready on this day in 1987 Don Baylor set a new Major League Baseball Mark for getting hit by pitch which recent Hall of Famer broke his record and currently holds the modern era record at 285 I’m going to go with Craig bigio of the Houston Astros with the the getting hit a lot wor a lot of armor yeah he did out over the plate yeah he did so yeah Craig little Craig who uh whose family had their son Cavin get DFA by the Blue Jays but now he’s a doer yep so he’s a little happier probably four years you ready for question number three ready I’m ready yes when Claude Julian won as Stanley Cup as the head coach of the Bruins who did they beat in the final I think they beat van blanking couver uh I think they had to fly across country to play that series I’m going to go with the the Kook uh the city took it well right oh yeah yeah there no problem at all there 30 for 30 on that huh yeah yeah burn it all right on to question four who is the only left-handed hitter with 2000 plus career RBIs there’s not many people with uh 2,000 career rsbi not many no are you an RBI guy or an rbi’s no I’m an rbi’s guy me too run yeah it’s a it’s a different word it’s a word in in and of itself right yeah I believe we got Lou garri going here I’m going to go with the Iron Horse Lou garig Who uh has a disease named after him you good with that 200000 RBI left-handed hitter left-handed hitter uh well did Barry get to 2,000 uh you’ve got Barry Ruth gig um oh you know what Dan the four it’s the fourth question I might as well do the lifeline for God’s sakes I mean why the hell not yeah let’s have a little fun on a Friday yeah are you ready ready Barry Bonds okay Tai Cobb Tai cob Babe Ruth Babe Ruth um I will uh well it’s I I will go with bur I’ll go with bur that would be Barry Bonds yeah B burry bonds okay Matthew please do your thing we have a winner in today’s fight does Randy carer close out the week with a victory or does young Sheldon throw a wrench into his weekend plans and honestly does he earn a does he deserve a victory after that joke for the second time under he deserves yeah he deser he deserves to wait after that I was talking about you oh he had to endure it though I didn’t have to endure it I just initiated we all did ring that Bell the winner and still champion of the fight Randy carer the fight is presented by Golf Discount of St Louis with the most experienced Club fitters in town why shop anywhere [Music] else uh I’m sorry Sheldon Randy carer beat you by a score of 3 to one in the fight today okay thanks for having me love the show hey thanks Sheldon appreciate it thanks for listening let’s go through the questions and go through the answers Jaylen Herz tallied three rushing touchdowns in his one Super Bowl appearance but he’s still one short of the career record for the game it is in fact John Elway who has four rushing TDS in his Super Bowl career Randy do you know how many passing touchdowns John Elway has in his Super Bowl career uh I don’t know three wow one of them to Rod Smith I know yes that’s very he have one to Ricky ntil in his first start I think that’s actually no Rick first play of the game I think I think I think you’re 100% correct about first play of the game yeah first off play the game and it was the second Super Bowl the only one that he didn’t have a rushing um touchdown in the the last three he had him in including both wins and his first one he also had one in as well on this day in 1987 Don Baylor set a new Major League Baseball Mark for getting hit by pitch it was on his birthday also which I thought was a kind of a weird present to get which recent Hall of Famer broke that record and currently holds the modern era record at 285 it is in fact Craig bigio when Claud Julian won his Stanley CU as head coach Bruins Cloud Julian CL Cloud CL I I like the way that banister was saying it who did they beat in the final they beat Vancouver and they burnt down the bleeping city um which is just will never not be kind of funny to me if you guys remember that was the uh picture that like one time photo of the year was the couple on the ground making out as the city of Vancouver burned in the background incredible photo and the only left-handed hitter with 2,000 plus career RBI it is in fact Babe Ruth the list with left-handed hits is honestly insane ta cob at 1944 Sam musel at 1951 Lou garri at 1995 Barry Bonds at 1996 and then it goes all the way up to Bab Ruth with 2214 three players in MLB history by the way with 2200 RBI Henry Aaron Albert buol and Babe Ruth all right so 31 win with Randy K there we go thank you so much so now you know V radio uh coming up here on brought to you by suar 1 [Music] the Cardinals will reach the midpoint of this 2024 season tomorrow when they play the Cincinnati Reds and there’s been a lot that has happened so far in this season in which the Cardinals have at this point turned in a record of 41 and 39 so tonight will be game number 80 and then uh you’ll be playing game number 80 oh no tonight’s game number 81 so after tonight you played 81 games and you’ve played half the season I think there are so many interesting story lines guys but I think if we I don’t think you have to dig that deep but if we look at the fact that when the Cardinals started spring training they planned on their everyday Outfield being Lars nbar Tommy Edmund and Jordan Walker they essentially have not had their starting Outfield this season and yet they’re still over 500 I think that’s one of the big storylines of of the whole year is the the lack of availability of their Outfield but their ability credit to the organization to cover for that those players with Donovan with canani who’s been a story unto himself and obviously the emergence of Alec burles that’s that’s where I was going to with the Outfield you have health coming back and I’m interested to see how much that changes the dynamic of the Outfield now because you have guys like Alec burlson doing well I know that Michael C’s bat hasn’t been great overall but he’s been great defensively we we’ve talked about that a lot what do you do with him in the situation Dylan Carlson we forget about him as well and what what happens with him so just a quick update on healthwise Lars Newar will begin his rehab assignment in daa Springfield today so that’s something to watch for Tommy edman was back to work yesterday after spraining his ankle and so that’s something to watch for I would assume that Lars will be back here soon before Tommy Edmund but what does the Outfield look like when you have Tommy Edmond and Lars Newar return I guess we’ll find out yeah well Burleson has to be in the lineup that that’s number one and then the other part of it is yet Donovan has to be in the line Donovan I was just going to say Donovan has to be in the lineup so second base looks like a spot that could be up for grabs yeah with Gorman yeah yep and I think the other thing that we have to note here is it’s been a long time since Tommy Edmond played so I think they’ll do as much work with him before they start him on a rehab stint and he gets 20 days I think is the maximum rehab stint you get now but I would think that he’s got to maximize all those days all those days but I would think that the Cardinals will want to have him be 100% before he goes out on a rehab s to he’s going to do a lot of work here he’s going to have to take live BP he’s going to have to do all the hitting he can here and be 100% before he goes out and essentially plays for the first time since last October so my storyline of the first half and it also dovetails into what I’m looking at in the second half is just the starting pitching gray michelas Gibson and Lyn so that quartet has a combined 3.46 ER I didn’t see that coming into this season I I I just didn’t think they performed this as well the Cardinals since May 12th when that Trio or that quartet excuse me starts a game they’re 21- 10 so they’re 11 games above the 500 Mark and in their last 13 series they’re 93 and one and a big reason why is they’re starting pitching can it hold up and you know on top of that can the bullpen hold up too and that’s why you call up Gordon grao tonight to try to save some arms as you go forward here in the second half that’s that’s a great call the pitching that’s how you win and the pitching has given the Cardinals plenty of opportunities to win games the other one that I look at guys is and I think this is a big storyline actually and I don’t know if it’s as welln nationally as it is is here in St Louis but for me the corner infielders ronado and goldm have turned from guys that I have great expectations for on a game- to game basis to guys that I don’t have expectations for on a game to game game to game basis my expectations have shifted to the younger players and when and I know Aron hit a home run last night and I know Goldie hit a home run the night before that but I don’t expect those guys to be great anymore and I think the first half of the season has reinforced that for me yeah because it’s continuation of what we saw from last year and so then when you see about that we’ve talked about the decline we know that Nolan arado he has been dealing with injuries and of course he just returned after two games out yesterday in the double header or no excuse me the day before in the double header and he went 1 for eight of course did stuff last night but at the same time you’ve just seen that decline with both of them and so I think you’re right and if the younger the baby birds as we call them if the younger players weren’t doing what they’re doing right now that it would be a huge it would be a bigger conversation I believe nationally and we talk about these young guys it’s burles Donovan don’t forget Mason win in his rookie season what he’s done here for this club I think another storyline and I’m going to stick with pitching but because I think pitching wins and that’s not making a bold statement but pitching is going to get you to postseason play what do they with the fifth starter and do they have it in house and maybe it is Matthew Liberator with what he did the other day and it was a dominant start when you go back and look at the top starts that they’ve had the last two years um statistically it was one of the best starts that you could have among all the guys in the last two years it was in the top 10 when you look at uh in terms of production with his slider which was outstanding he wasn’t walking anybody hardly gave up any hits and he gave you six Innings and we talked about it yesterday he he basically is stretched out with how they’re using pitchers he threw 80 plus pitches that’s generally what these starters are going anyway so he might be started stretched out to make that fist start coming up with Matthew lior we talked about maybe giving him a couple more starts and I’m assuming when you’re bringing up grao to put him in the bullpen if you’re the Cardinals and you’re evaluating the trade deadline you see what Liberator did just in that one start and you have Palante going right now do you try to go out and get another starting pitcher during the trade deadline I think it’s there do um but I’m still kind of comfortable with Palante and Liberator and I know they’re not going to jump off the page I’m more concerned about and I say this all the time but I’m more concerned about the Innings coming out of the bullpen and how am I going to protect myself if I’m Ali with those Innings grao would certainly help tonight that’s the immediate but then you should get vital Innings out of Liberator and high leverage hittings out of him and then it uh does raise the question is what happens with Palante as they move forward with him yeah I I I would pursue a starting pitcher at the deadline if it’s there why not but we talk a lot and we talk a lot of in the market as fans we talk about the Cardinals needing to go out and get like a fifth starter which to me is a back of the rotation guy they’ve got a bunch of the back of the rotation guys what they need is a front of the rotation guy if they’re going to trade for a pitcher don’t go get a guy who’s who that does the same job as Liberator or or Palante or yeah you already got you’ve got him yeah get a guy that you’re going to pitch in game one of a playoff series against the Dodgers against the Phillies against the Brewers that’s what I would be looking for if I was making a trade you need a true number two because that’s what we were talking about earlier is who do you feel comfortable say the playoffs started today who would you put out there as your number two yeah for me it’ be Gibson if I could set it up that way you said that earlier I’m I’m now leaning towards that direction cuz he’s been pretty consistent with the he’s had a couple of bad starts the one the other day he had the one against Miami but for the most part you know he’s been really good I I I think the other storyline for me is the emergence of Michael canani and he’s eight for his last 22 he’s hitting 274 against right Andy pitching and you haven’t missed a beat at all if anything you’ve gotten better defensively and how many defensive run saved that he’s had you know CI to me is someone that is definitely a storyline coming out of the first half and then to Brook’s Point what happens with him going in the second half and along those lines credit where credit is due because last year the Cardinals were 20th in defensive run saved at minus seven this year they’re 14th at 11 defensive runs saved a guy like Alec Burleson has advanced defensively you’re getting good work out of Donovan who historically has not been a left fielder obviously the addition of canani Gorman is a better second baseman than he was in the past the defense has improved and I think the the the manager and the staff deserve credit for that the left side of your infield defensively is in probably the top five of baseball even though that ronado might be limited with the injuries that are happening right now but Mason W is covering everything and his arm allows him to make plays that just other Short Stops don’t make and especially on a turn of double play he’s been fantastic if I’m Goldie I’m like really man here comes 100 miles an hour from there not that he’s not a big leader and can’t handle it but it’s like wow I mean he shows that off that arm off a and he used to taunt base runners somebody would hit the ball to win and Gary Templeton did this as a young player Gary Templeton had a cannon and he would wait until he knew he was going to get the guy by a half step he would just hold the ball and make the guy run down the line and wi apparently did that in the minors uh just to taunt players and they stopped him from doing it in the minor so now he just throws it hard all the time early but it it’s so fun to watch the short stop with a great arm like that just say okay okay okay and then throw it and get beat the guy by a quarter of a step just the athleticism of seeing a guy do that it’s fun to watch and you go from that to when you had David einin who made the plays without the strongest arm but everyone was the same way it was a half step on getting everybody but a little different arm than what you saw out of Mason wi coming up we’ve got the rush hour reset here on the opening drive on officially licensed Rolex Jeweler Brook Dan Matthew and Randy and major controversy Brewing here in studio I don’t know if we will be able to work past this I think this is pretty tough you’re on one today I like it yeah so uh fired up so first of all uh we we got breakfast from uh First Watch which is fantastic we love it thank you uh oh the bacon so they sent strawberry jelly and I said okay question for the gang uh strawberry jelly or grape jelly I’m all over the grape jelly as is Matthew Dan is all over the strawberry well I I also now there’s a technicality here I said what if I like them both just about the same initially though I went strawberry but I’ll go both okay and then Brooke you are I like both I don’t I don’t have a strong preference for one over the other honestly cuz I we were talking about Rocko really does not like strawberry jelly really does not like strawberry jelly and I said well did you ever have the strawberry peanut butter and strawberry jelly and crusta bles because that’s our age range and I grew up with those I love the strawberry ones so if given the choice if I’m sitting at a restaurant table and they’ve got grape and strawberry I’m going to take grape 100 times out of a 100 if they only have strawberry I will go with strawberry but I like grape way way way better and by the way um many breakfasts I’ll have a smoothie and I was dismayed to find out that it’s very difficult to find a strawberry protein powder these days I don’t know why even Amazon it’s difficult to find strawberry protein you should go Supplement Superstore they have everything okay I’ll not sponsored but I mean if they want to I’m a huge fan of their stuff because they have everything they have so many protein powders there lots of first well because it’s the guy who started first form it’s his store and so they have a ton yeah they have a ton of stuff so I love first form I I cannot I I didn’t know Uncrustables have been around for as long as they’ve been around Long around the first time I ever had on crustable is like 2013 mhm they were invented in 1995 wow what’s an uncrustable unable sandwich broke when I was a kid I made an uncrustable sandwich describe the uncrustable to Dan Brook uh well I got mine from the Frozen aisle I don’t know where everybody else gets it so then it’s it’s in a circle it looks like a little pie and there’s no crust it’s a perfect little peanut butter and jelly sand that it looks like a it looks like a pie I would almost be wouldn’t you say like a pie or take a regular peanut butter and jelly sandwich and now imagine if the circle was cut out with a circle with like a crimped Edge and let me see did I eliminate the crust then you did yes Pence uncrush this is not false advertis right peanut butter and jelly installed with inside the Crim and how how are you doing this yeah I like how we’re doing the hand motions cuz I was doing the exact same thing I was I don’t know what you call together got two the reason this is our take is because the Cardinals lost 114 to the Reds last night yeah I know we were trying to way away from that can we go back to it just for a second because the hand what do you call this when you do the little pinching it’s a crimped Edge the uncrustable when you make a pie you put the crust up over the top for some of them and you you crimp it like you’ve got a bottom and a top crust we’re doing like crab motions right now you have you have to crimp the edge of the ravioli oh oh there you go oh yes the ravioli I got a text from our buddy when we were talking about what we would do with the cup for a day got a text from our buddy John LOL while we were doing and I didn’t mention it uh but he’s got a picture of himself and his kids at Charlie jetos with the cup full of toasted RAV oh yes I remember seeing I did I I don’t think I made it out over there that day but the photos that came out from there were incredible crossable is partially patented the crimping process to to keep everything sealed in is actually a patented invention for the Smuckers Corporation oh so you’ve never had one D I can’t believe this has been hiding from me for 20 years no I’ve never had one your kids sitting like them well we I don’t think we ever had one in the house cuz if we did I would have mauled it yeah I’m going to bring one in for you Danny M cuz I usually get them at the store every like month or so I’m going to bring one in for you you got you have to try it all right I’ll try don’t baste your barbecue Mallet you’re ready to barbecue this weekend and then next week too you’re going to put on a clinic I will I got to think about what to do I know that on the 4th of July weekend I’m going to do a burger by the way we need to think about what we want to talk about with our buddy Mike Johnson next Wednesday before 4th of July let’s be honest Randy it’s not about having him come in studio and talk about barbecue it’s about him bringing in barbecue for all of us yes let’s be honest about it okay let’s be honest okay it is it’s very true we are very we are very food motivated on this show yeah we’re like puppies I’m telling you man un treat I don’t all morning I was like so what time is this first watch getting in huh where’s this bacon at you were all over kep asking about pretty awesome so there you have your Rush Hour reset here I want to did we did we get the pole did anybody like come in with a hot take on Grape versus strawberry jelly um actually more people were were giving you uh different protein powders to try oh good okay what did we find I got to check has strawberry milkshake who does first form so if you go to that Supplement Superstore they have all that you need there I will do that air frying your uncrustable I haven’t done that before I’ve seen the video it looks incredible but I don’t have the guts to try it so because you don’t like warm fruit stuff you’re 100% right about that broe you nailed it you nailed it you about Rocko that he doesn’t like warm fruits so that means he doesn’t enjoy pies he doesn’t enjoy I mean a lot of things that would bring people Joy like hot fruits I uh I find Matthew to be very opinionated on a lot of things no and that’s okay I I love hearing his opinion unlike most humans you run into who don’t have opinions on things a lot of people just keep quiet but they have the opinion is what absolutely they do oh okay only they were broadcasters So Randy you can get the uh Gladiator strawberry protein mix from Smoothie King so I used to be locked in to the Smoothie King um it was uh lean one yeah lean one strawberry was the jam but I can’t find it anymore and I guess I don’t make it any I’ve even gone to the lean one website so I’m assuming they don’t make it anymore but I appreciate that Smoothie King has the Gladiator I will give that a try and if anybody know were you said the jam the jam yeah my jam okay my jam but if anybody knows if they still make the strawberry lean one because it feels and tastes like it’s something you shouldn’t be drinking CU it’s so good so I like it a lot it might be like 7,000 calories I don’t care because this is protein powder so it’s got to be good for you do you really care about your calories Randy no just Brooke and I we play for the tie a lot yeah okay I I wouldn’t go right I’ll just spend what what did you use to say I’ll spend another 15 minutes on the treadmill right exactly yeah stair Master pickle ball extra hour on the pickle ball court there you go don’t go with the Gladiator powder get get the lean one if you can find it again because the Gladiator power is literally for like people who are trying to put on a massive amount of weight and muscle like they originally developed you’re a Smoothie King expert you’re former smoothie kingy they originally developed the Gladiator to help cancer patients put on weight it was an easy thing it was an easy thing to eat that would help you put on weight cuz it’s obviously very tough for them and eventually bodybuilders figured out this is a really good way for me to put on a lot of muscle mass so if you’re not if you’re just drinking smoothies without working out you will put on weight not the good so thank you I appreciate that okay good to know someone called us goobers which I think that’s fair isn’t aren’t isn’t there something uh peanut butter and jelly mixure that’s called goober yeah yeah there’s goobers it was a candy wasn’t it I get it I think it was in a jar I think it’s mixed peanut but and jelly well now I have to do research on this yeah we let’s go to the Google machine but coming up next we got to talk some blues hockey we’re going to ask Jeremy ruford about the blues hiring of Claude Julien you think he speaks French I would say so okay not Jr though no uh but we’ll ask if Claude does that’ll be the the note that you need to know about next on 101 ESPN e e hey everyone it’s Brooke here and I want to tell you why I love the Missouri Athletic Club one I enjoy it because I just love going over there at the West location and just hanging out some weekends I like going over there and having lunch and then working out with Christine she’s my personal trainer I see her twice a week and I’m seeing huge results or maybe even go over there have lunch and play tennis with Scott it’s just so much fun and I feel like I can really see my tennis game advancing also it’s pool season and the West location has the best pool in town they always provide such a wonderful experience and that’s why I love my Mac e e e [Music] J me RT from the athletic ie the New York Times joins us from Vegas in the NHL draft here on 101 ESPN good morning Jr how’s everything in Vegas this morning see we play We wee oh he does speak French he does do you think that when you say that to Claud Julian that he’ll understand what you’re saying I think he won’t because that probably didn’t make sense but he does speak French yes what you what you think of that hire I like it I like it and I like the fact that uh Drew Bannister had the fortitude to make a move like that guys every time I talk to Drew banister it’s always always about what he wants to do to develop get better and he said a couple times yesterday when I talked to him out here he said that I’m still a young coach I’ve got lot of learning to do and if I could bring a Claud Julian and put him on the bench and you know have him in the meetings have him intermissions things like that that’s what I want and so I think the reaction and he knew it was coming he’ set this for a while that the reaction would be wow he’s hiring his replacement that’s not the case he he wants this team to be as good as it can and he thinks Claud Julian makes it better and I agree well we have the NHL draft and do you think that the blues I know that we’ve asked you this before but now that we’re getting closer to it here tonight do you think the blues will trade up so it’s a great question and I know the fans want them to I think the picture sets up that it makes a lot of sense when you look at where they draft number 16 and I’m not saying they have to go on and get a defenseman because you go out and get the best player available but there’s some defenseman that can still be had in that top 10 or 11 and then it drops off a little bit and so yesterday what you saw is the San Jose Sharks made a trade and they sent a second round pick and the 14th overall pick to Buffalo to jump up to number 11 so I think it’s pretty you know people are talking out here that they want a defenseman it looks like the Sharks the blues could do the same thing they’ve got two second round picks number 48 and number 56 and I’m not saying you can jump in the top 10 but you can get higher than 16 and give yourself a chance so you know Doug Armstrong said a couple weeks ago he said I think this is going to be a selection draft for us meaning they’re going to pick where they’re slotted to but I do think that possibility exists what’s the uh overall strength of this year’s draft I think it’s it’s defenseman and and I say that because uh there’s three or four good ones in terms of you can get a top four potential uh with these guys and there’s good size too some physicality uh you know few of them can move the puck pretty well Dan but you know overall you know I think it’s a decent draft not great and you can get some really good boards I mean right there at the top with uh celebrini he’s going to go number one overall to San Jose uh but after that I think you’re going to see teams go after those top defenseman Jr do you think and Doug Armstrong has great relationships with all of the other general managers do you think that there is a trade that could not be a trade up that would be available for the blues this weekend uh I I think that uh you know they’re going to try if if that’s what you’re asking in terms of having the the possibility to to trade up uh um but I think that the depth of picks that they have allows them to do that and we know that Doug Armstrong you know made some huge trades a couple years ago trading Ryan O’Reilly and Vladimir tereno and those picks are still here in the cupboard they get to use those picks this year so you’re talking about nine picks overall in the seven round draft you got two seconds two thirds uh two sevenths that seventh has has an additional one because of Robert bzo trade so you know that’s what he’s been trying to do for the past couple years is put himself in position to be able to make a move like this and so that’s why I do think it’s possible I’m talking about a player trade you think that they could go get a player this weekend or player trade sorry yeah yeah player trade I think that uh there’s always a possibility and it’s the the suspects that we’ve been talking about for a couple years here with uh with Tory Krug um you know the latest I’ve heard on that is that you know he is willing to wave the no trade clause for a select few teams and is that four teams six teams and which teams are they and and how tough is it going to be for Doug Armstrong to deal with those teams and make a trade for Tory Krug so um you know if a trade were to be made you know I think he’s a guy who would be involved I think that the blues have also talked to uh Justin faul about the potential of waven his no trade clause you know I don’t know how far uh that’s gone down the road so I think that uh they’re trying to change that defense and give it a different look next year Randy but uh that just speaks to how difficult it is well that’s definitely a change especially for Tory Krug as you just mentioned there opening things up to some possibly some other teams do you think that even a buyou could be an option if that doesn’t work well I think that Doug Armstrong kind of set up everybody’s radar a couple mon ago when he said that uh everything’s on the table including buyouts you know he specifically talked about buyouts and and we looked at that and said wow he’s never done a buyout now he’s admitting that it could be a possibility but then it was just a week or two ago where he said it’s not high on the radar you know that’s probably a situation where you know they crunched the numbers did the math looked at the situation and figured probably best to try to make a trade and and I’m sure that they’ve had more conversations about the trade route than the buyout route we’ve seen the NFL draft it’s an event on it to its own and then you had the NBA draft yesterday and the first round is is huge what is the uh just give us a you know kind of pull the curtain back what is the NHL draft like when your boots on the ground and just watching how this uh unfolds well it’s going to be great this year Dan because it’s at the sphere uh just down the road here and if people aren’t familiar with that I think that was like a 1 billion doll project that’s just just off the strip um if you if you haven’t seen it or haven’t read about it you got to Google it I mean it’s just amazing the technology that’s built into this thing where they can just turn the entire thing into uh whatever they want to like it could be an eyeball it could be a basketball tonight obviously the theme will be hockey so I can’t wait to get down there and see this um interestingly Dan that you ask about this because this is the last one that they’re going to do in person next year they’re moving to a a decentralization of the draft and so people won’t be on site we’ll be back in St Louis for this draft so this will be the last time that we’ll see these uh kids come up on stage for the draft why would they do that I don’t know if that’s a good thing I I mean I think people like to watch it and see the young players put on a jersey put on a hat you know get the handshake from the commissioner whatever the case may be why why do you think they’ do that yeah they might still bring the first couple picks somewhere and do something like that but in terms of uh in terms of doing it for everybody they’re not going to do that and the reason is because what happens is free agency starts on Monday and they’ve had situations and including I think last year in Nashville where the teams got stuck in Nashville and could not even get back home I mean you’re talking about going back to Ottawa going back to Vancouver going back to to California and all these teams were stuck and you can’t get back to your home base for the start of free agency just the schedule is so jamack with the draft uh the next two days and then free agency on Monday I think they want everybody just to be able to stay home you know have everything together get ready for free agency and just do the draft by remote Panthers of course winning the Stanley Cup and we’ve seen all the videos coming out of Matthew kachu having a lot of fun down in Florida what do you think that his day with the Cub is going to be like back here in St Louis well I hope I’m there to cover it I don’t know if he’s going to sleep before then right he’s working on about three hours of sleep this past few days so uh and he’s been everywhere with it I know he lives not too far from the Elbow Room they’ve had the cup you know just like uh they had the cup here uh that uh in St Louis they’ve bounced around with it in uh in Florida so definitely making the rounds I think that party with uh at the con Chuck household you know wherever they have this thing is going to be something like you’ve never seen before it was so great to be able to see big Walt uh hoist that cup and I’m sure you guys have seen the video of him in the locker room he’s you know they’re dumping the the cup on him you know that’s a guy who played a long time in the League scored 500 goals I think he should be in the Hall of Fame he doesn’t get that opportunity but he’s been able to live through his son this week definitely with the Stanley Cup hey J.R one one more thing before we let you go where do you think David panha is going to wind up well what if you thought say Louis huh does anybody think that I I don’t but I guess it’s a possibility the the what he gave you though after he left and his uh displeasure with the way things were handled here I I wonder if those are wounds that have healed yeah I don’t want to tease anybody with uh that reference to coming back for a fourth Torah Duty with the St Louis Blues I would think the chances would be small the only reason I brought it up in an article the other day is that it actually fits the bill like the blues could use a Winger and I’m sure in the Twilight he would come here um you know at reasonably price but I don’t know that those wounds have healed you can tell there’s something still there he wanted to finish his career here it could have happened it didn’t happen and he’s still playing good hockey like you know he could have really helped us blues power play so you know the one caveat that I mentioned the other day you got Alexander Steen helping with some of these decisions uh with Doug Armstrong now uh as they as they make that change over the next couple years and obviously I think Steen would have a soft pot spot for David R so I don’t see it happening I see you know perhaps Detroit I know people talk about joining buuy in Toronto but he’s definitely going to be able to find a place where he can go and do what he’s done for a long time now and watching the Stanley Cup Final is there something that you can take away that if as you look at the blu’s roster you say okay the Florida Panthers they changed they they totally changed in a about a two-year period it was amazing at what they did with the roster turnover my point would be or my question is there something you can gleam from watching those teams that the blues can look at and say this is immediate this is something we can change going into next season or the year after yeah Dan I think they played they they added some skill you know obviously they broke the Chuck in and and changed the roster up a little bit but just how aggressive they play and of course that’s going to be the situation for teams that you know make it that far two years in a row all the way the the stard Cup Final and and win it but when I spoke to Doug or to uh Drew Bannister a couple weeks ago he said I’m watching this and I just see you know how how aggressive they are in all areas of the ice and that’s where we need to be we need to you know support each other help with the puck uh be there to help each other and and I don’t think that we’ve seen that the blues have the players who can do it you know obviously the rosters don’t compare the blues have uh some major steps to take to get the roster where Florida’s got it but I think that any roster in the NHL if he can play the way the Florida Panthers did the past couple years in terms of that assertiveness I I think that the blues are going to be better off and that’s where Dre banister wants to get them Jr thanks so much for the time we appreciate it have great time in Vegas remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas for sure and uh we will be watching your Twitter feed your X feed tonight and we’ll also keep an eye on what you’ve got coming up for us at the athletic thanks so much for the time have a great weekend and if we don’t talk to you have a great Fourth of July too yep you guys too thanks a lot thanks J Jeremy Rutherford our Blues Insider from the athletic and from Vegas on 101 ESPN live from Vegas quick question why wouldn’t the NHL just change around the dates of things so that they could still have this draft like you’re having this year that’s a great question I don’t know mve it back a few days yeah maybe it’s just that the NHL is at the upper levels not the sharpest pencils in the Box I I think that it’s good to have your drafts on major television and make it a full round and make it just a whole night of coverage you know there’s going to be certain cities NHL cities that are going to be paying attention to that I think it’s something they need to revisit we all hate the business of the NFL but watch the actions of what the n does with their sport to make it a 365 day a year Venture and part of that is ending the season in February and you’ve got February March April and most of May to get ready for the draft people are always talking about it so why not if and now I know the NHL offseason isn’t as long but why not do the NHL draft the weekend after the Fourth of July that’s where I’m going I think it’s a valid point is I want to see these players I you know I’m not the biggest hockey draft Guru or do I really want to watch it all that much but if I’m watching Conor Bard get drafted or some of the big names that come out of it I want to see more about it I want to see him interviewed I want to see the families I want to see the reaction I love it when guys get drafted and see their their emotions and what means what it means to them and their family I just think about how quickly it all and I don’t and I don’t know why everything has to happen so quickly so you have the Stanley Cup of course you went to a game seven so that’s a little bit longer than maybe some of the other ones but then you have the NHL awards and then you have the draft and then you have free agency starting I just don’t really understand why it has to be all so close together yeah spread it out just a little bit a little bit I’m with you guys 100% coming up here on 101 ESPN which struggling Nolan is it more important for the Cardinals to get going that’s coming your way on 101 ESPN e e e e e hey with the 4th of Brothers Heating and Cooling e this is Rocky with your sports center update driven by Johnny L Chevrolet and Johnny L Autoplex the cards fall in game one against the Reds they’ll go for a win tonight in game two 17 715 first pitch it’ll be the righty for the Reds Frankie Montas facing off against Andre Palante for the Cardinals Montas on the season 3 and5 with a 4.48 ra Palante sitting at 3 and3 with a 5.23 ra through 32 Innings pitched so far this year and in the NBA draft second round last night the big story did happen and that was bronny James getting drafted at 55th overall to join LeBron his father on the Lakers that is your sports center update driven by Johnny LOL Chevrolet and Johnny lol autolex see them at lol.com Chevy together we drive are you kidding me [Music] the Cardinals two Nolan have been struggling of late and when you look at their overall numbers this season compared to their career numbers they’ve struggled relative to those as well Gorman this year is only hitting 191 he does have 16 homers 36 RBIs and his 679 Ops Nolan arnado this year is hitting 258 he has seven homers 34 RBI and a 691 Ops so the question is which Nolan is it more important to get going and guys I thought about this a lot and the way I want to couch it and I don’t know if this is realistic is if you could get these guys back to their career numbers which one is going to help the team most and I think from that standpoint getting Nolan Aron to what he has historically been is most important he’s got an 862 career Ops his 162 game averages are 34 homers and 111 RBI the Gorman yeah Gorman’s Ops is more than 100 points lower for his career he does and his 162 game averages are skewed by the fact that he’s missed a lot of time but his 162 game averages are 33 homers 80 RB but if you have a Nolan Gorman that’s doing what he’s done during the course Nolan arado I’m sorry doing what he’s been doing during the course of his career you have a superstar player one of the best players in the game yeah that’s that’s the answer right there is it is Nolan arado and by the way it was nice to see him get that two-run Homer last night that was his first home run since June 5th and just his second at Bush Stadium this year so if Nolan arado is going we’ve talked about that with this group with the baby birds and what they’re doing right now this is a real team that you feel a lot more confident in more than just a little bit confident I think there’s still people who are a little timid with the Cardinals currently right now you have that bad loss last night of course but still if you have Nolan arado going at least closer to what you know he can be then it makes a huge difference with this team well he’s the guy I mean he’s also getting paid 30 plus million dollars so I want to see him perform at a high level and uh he’s on Pace for 14 home runs for the year Randy and 68 runs batted in yeah not that ain’t going to cut it not enough right that’s not going to cut it and Gorman is going to sit I think a little bit if they get healthier you’re going to put somebody else at second base Gorman since June 5th is six for his last 73 now that’s concerning that’s an 082 average what’s really concerning is that his strikeout rate is at 40% I think you can live around 25 to 30 which is still not great but he’s going to walk into home runs if he’s not hitting that’s a black hole in your lineup and you can’t have that and it’s a game of adjustments and the pitchers clearly have adjusted to what Nolan Gorman was doing to them I I wonder the game has changed so much it used to be that a player would be completely embarrassed by hitting 193 completely I wonder if that’s even a factor now for a guy like that where I don’t think they care I don’t think they do either I don’t think they they’re bothered by strikeouts I don’t think they’re bothered by Low batting averages they want to hit home run and I think that we’ve reached a point it’s just by appearances it seems like they think oh if I hit home runs I’m going to get paid where you need to have the Ops too you need to be getting on base you can’t have a 690 Ops and get paid Ops is where it’s at I mean when I look at the stat line of a player yes do I look at the traditional numbers of home runs runs batted in and average yes but the first thing I also look at is Ops and it’s on Bas plus Slug and if you have that and it gets to a level that’s high then you’re a very very valuable player no question 679 Nolan Gorman’s Ops 679 only a 271 on base and for a slugger only a 409 slug you’ve got a slug 500 if if you’re a slugger and would you be surprised too if you found out that he had 16 home runs so he leads the team currently right now with 16 home runs but it doesn’t feel like it it almost feels like you’ve forgotten about it because of what where he’s at right now 191 average as we mentioned and the strikeouts are the big laring issue that you touched on 104 strikeouts for him yeah I think you it gets overlooked just because it came in in a small sample size of just him going off and hitting for power I know Matthew you wanted to chime in on something no you don’t okay so to me it it just looked like it came in a very short amount of time and it came when it and when it decided to click it clicked but other times it just does not look like he needs to be for this team talking about Gorman where he needs to be to have this team take the next level and have better success than what we’ve seen here in the first half and I know the Cardinals are working very hard to try to get Gorman straightened out but the old adage is you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink and I’m not so sure that uh the Gorman I don’t even know if he’s going to the water to be honest with you uh but he’s certainly not drinking it do you think with some of these guys coming back getting healthy maybe Tommy Edmond he could get a look at second base and where do you put Gorman in this situation what do be your but then you worry about how you kind of maneuver that as well because there’s other guys that you would want to have in that position guys if if you’re going to send down Jordan Walker why wouldn’t you send down Nolan Gorman yep that I’m go that’s exactly where I was going if he’s having this kind of issues 082 average since June 5th then if it continues this way you’re going to have to make an adjustment and if you do have guys getting healthy you know Tommy Edmund is taking ground balls mhm there’s a reason he’s doing that Michael seani has pushed this a little bit to where he doesn’t have to play center field every day talking about Tommy Edmond if he’s playing uh if he’s taking ground balls it tells me he’s going to move around the diamond yeah so we’ll see it’s uh it’s an interesting situation with with Gorman and he’s got to pick it up the power is there the ability is there but he’s got to start to I don’t know who he’s listening to and who’s coaching him whether it’s the Cardinals or somebody else but uh he better find somebody he could use that guy that Aaron judge uses uh that we’ve had on the air before that that would be a good idea for no there’s a lot of guys that could use that guy there are yeah there are that is Dan that is Brook I’m Randy and coming up we’re going to head down the stretch with rock and roll on this Friday on 101 ESPN e e e e e e e e I want to [Music] rock need en roll [Music] let’s rock let’s rock today it is time for rock and roll here on 101 ESPN and before bonus chance to register by going to 101 espn.com or using the 101 mobile app but the other thing you can do is answer this trivia question that uh Matthew Rock has for you what do you got sir well if you were paying attention to the fight you might have a little bit of a leg up in this competition cuz we found a little fun piece of trivia from the fight question in the fight question we discovered that John Elway is the only player in NFL history with four career rushing touchdowns in the Super Bowl for a quarterback the other thing we found out is that uh he has a weird number when it comes to his passing touchdowns so what is it how many passing touchdowns career-wise does John Elway have in his five Super Bowl appearances now if you don’t get the the the question right don’t have your 19th nervous breakdown oh here com 19 just like just Danny humming it a little bit all right I’ll jump a little you know what I don’t blame you oh here we go I I I hope you just Ain’t Too Proud to Beg there you go um there was uh some not great updates over the week for St Louis city SC uh yesterday uh you guys a lot fans out there are going to get one of their wishes cuz Xiao Claus hurt his knee in training he’s getting an MRI today so they don’t know if he’s going to be out they don’t know if he’s going to be playing but I’m interested to see what a city attack looks like without Xiao Klaus in it for once I’m not too excited about that but the big thing had to be uh Tim Parker getting fined in that crazy uh in that crazy story me and Brooke actually talked about what the event that kind of started everything roll and I’m going to play the audio for you really quick this was the referee early on Saturday’s game Atlanta um going through what V decided for one of the plays after review there was no offside off however prior to the goal there was a foul committed by St Louis the final decision is direct free kick obviously he got booed and the big part was in the middle of that you saw that you heard the fans erupt when he said no off sides he put his hand up to stop the crowd and that got a lot of social media reaction to the point where the MLS even posted the video of that that the audio is from on different social medias including posting it on Instagram well the Instagram post garnered a reaction from St Louis City’s own Tim Parker who simply just posted a little clown emoji and the MLS as we announced yesterday came down and hit him with a fine for that commentary on the refs so Tim Parker was then asked about that yesterday in City’s availability specifically he was asked if he seen some of the media posts um of with fans offering to pay his fine he commented on that too but he dove into why he was so um non-plus by the post from the MLS account yes um yeah you know I think first first the the Outreach for the fans is really funny I really appreciated that um and second I think I know that there is a line with the league in terms of what you can say and what you cannot say um in order to Warrant a fine I just believe that in my actions I think as a player in this league for 10 years now I think it’s clear that I I like this league I love this league I love playing this league and I want this league to have the reputation that it deserves and will continue to grow and earn and that I don’t think posting Clips like that is going to help the reputation of this league I also don’t think that the way the ref handled that situation ation was respectful to the players or the fans in our home stadium so um I don’t think that that was done fairly um but like I said I mean I think the league will continue to grow and I want it to continue to grow I just hope that it is able to do it in the right ways Fair seems like a pretty legitimate reaction from Tim Barker when when he breaks it down like that I also think better than calling it a garage League which is what my comment on uh last seg about the NHL was going to be just garage League uh and the MLS has some garage League Tendencies as well this being one of them for me I I also think that there’s a I think there’s a difference between postgame after the fact before anyone’s had a time to look at the film and everything like that and trashing a referee from the podium in a post game I think that’s very different than making a SN a snarky comment on a social media post and I think just when you talk about the relation between coach and referee why you don’t want players outwardly bashing referees post game I don’t think this crosses that line and that’s why I think it’s ridiculous they they find him for that and it was just a clown Emoji I mean some people like clowns some people are scared of him some people like him it could mean millions of different do you think it was worse in what he said as opposed to posting the clown Emoji so if you’re the league you’re sitting there going well here’s one of our very good players saying this about our league as opposed to just posting a clown emoi seriously yeah I I would say that the clown Emoji is probably what got got him oh for sure yeah for sure this comment is after the fine he was not fine for that comment these are those are mild and very level-headed and if I’m the soccer Dawn I’m listening to that and saying to myself yeah he’s right yeah I agree yeah I just I wonder if you’re the league you’re you’re like please don’t say that probably yeah right probably but he was levelheaded and it made a lot of sense we do have a winner of The Rolling Stones tickets the answer was three touchdowns in Super Bowls three touchdown passes for John Elway for those of you that didn’t win you can’t always get what you want Oh see what you did we also we also we apologize Can’t Get No Satisfaction today we also found out just another little trivia win is that John Elway is not the only quarterback with more pass rushing touchdowns than uh passing touchdowns Jaylen Herz obviously has the three to one and Jim McMahon rushed for two in that Super Bowl and did not throw for one so John in company he’s pretty impressive you know I’ll I’ll tell you something it’s now that this person has won these Rolling Stone tickets Wild Horses couldn’t drag them away from it oh look at you Randy and it’s I’m glad it’s a nice Arena because you get in and it’s rain and you don’t want to be like in a festival you’re just saying give me shelter so cannot well you they aren’t really laughing everybody they’re just kind of like moaning like oh god there this is I I don’t feel like my jokes are going over well maybe it’s cuz the stones are 80 maybe but we said the every the average age what did we say the other day was 60 69 Med 69 I still don’t understand how that’s possible cuz the drummer died then they got a new drummer and the third the third guy who’s always been with them is 13 years younger than them that also when they’re when they’re all 7980 he’s only 66 hey we got AO party coming up with T-Mac and Ajax followed by BK and ferrario and then the fast lane from 2 to 6 we had a great job today by our producer audio video engineer the one the only Matthew Rocko thank
