well the day has finally come it is the final of the 121st Women’s amate Championship here at the beautiful Port maruk Golf Club now we’ve got two players left USA’s Melanie green versus Scotland’s laor miman it is going to be a testing day out there today the links weather is coming in thick and fast it’s going to be an absolute marathon of 36 HS now let’s get into the action [Music] that is the scene looking back down towards the first te here at Port marck ahead of the final of the 121st Women’s Amateur Championship Lor mclimont versus Melanie green it’s a mouthwatering [Music] prospect mclimont lands the first significant punch of this final she takes the third and goes one up that looked painful still in there didn’t really move and has it buried further she doesn’t look like she’s got a lot of loft there K either that looks like an eight or a seven and it’s still she’s just absolutely bu and again it’s still in there so she has played three it’s just she’s struggling to find it I think actually she got it the hole has being [Music] conceded whether she got the cleaner strike on that but it is a beauty get up there I’m going to go John John is it your time yet a beauty it is Rachel well that is a brilliant effort but it just Glides by on the right hand side so Lor mclimont with her birdie four moves three up good roll positive roll not the line another win for Laura oh what a shot what a shot just what she needed yes she’s got it done that is huge just watching here little fish pump there lot of authority getting that ball out the whole [Music] there and overend kit there on the line on the golf ball didn’t quite get the right start line definitely the momentum has switched for the moment to Melanie green [Music] Melanie green whose putts were sliding past in the early part of the match but the worm has turned mclimont got out into the lead but as we’ve seen all week green is a fighter she’s picking it up so she’s found the original [Music] ball yeah I don’t know whether she has K I think that could be game oh yeah we’re heing I’m confused why she’s conceded that the hole has been [Music] conceeded yes nicely done and it goes well done laor mclimont and this final has been everything we hoped it would be so far a brilliant tussle between America’s Melanie green and Lor MCL of Scotland and it is the American green who takes a oneup lead into the lunch break through 18 holes here at Port Marik back to this final which has been an absolute doozy so far still could go either way we’ve shown you the silverware so much on the line it’s not over certainly isn’t still 18 holes to play will it go even further who knows good stroke finds the bottom of the hole just what the doctor ordered beautiful butt there loves it loves it oh she looked like she loved it but that is horrible that’s found the puddles [Music] great short game L that’s a fantastic shot good short game shot but not good enough as that is conceded so Melanie green two [Music] up really good effort you’d be delighted with that [Music] and it has been [Music] conceded she tried to get it running smoothly it did come out pretty smoothly I think she’ll be quite happy with that yeah you take that confidently stroked home by the American she’s back to two up oh finish right behind the hole she three dang Rachel what a turn around that’s seven [Music] holes all the way from Dublin can she all it oh it was a great putt great putt good stroke again and it just lacked the pace to hold the line and back to two here we go again it’s up and down like a [Music] yo-yo STI through taking a little divit steep on it needs to get a rigle on not bad just need an extra big hop and that would have been lovely [Music] on its way is it going to drop it is back to one game on boom shake the room up we go look at the borrow going to take a bit more no that is absolutely brilliant I stand corrected [Music] oh my word go on laa she really took the opportunity to can it had it dancing around the hole fantastic love how flush she gets the pot sitting on the ground great one for everyone at home the bounce release it that is a fantastic what a shot that is so good especially at this stage in the [Applause] game Advantage Lor MIM we always knew this was going to e and flow throughout the day it has done huge moment 34th hole to to win it and haul herself back to all square with two to play of course she does of course she does Rachel that is a massive pup kit wow conly [Applause] done so in it goes backto back wind for Melanie green on 16 and 17 Melanie green two putts from glory and she’s done it in one one and done green does it kit in her debut appearance in the Women’s Amateur Championship America’s Melanie green is the champion and what a performance what a final so what do you think eventually down the line this will mean for you to have won this championship in the manner that you did as well such a tough battle today oh my gosh incredible Lorna is is an incredible player incredible player every player that I faced um put up great matches like awesome um such great golf um yeah I don’t I don’t even know what you get when you win I just know that there’s a big old trophy that I’ve seen like seven days out here um yeah I mean this this tournament’s pretty old it’s got a lot of a lot of history the RNA um yeah I mean that’s incredible to to have my name on that little trophy um it’s it’s ridiculous [Music] [Applause] well there you go we have our winner congratulations Melanie green you are 121st Women’s Amateur Champion what a day what an
