finished the day with a 66 the golf course just no match for these players over the first couple of days 3135 for young and he spoke to Todd Lewis and Cameron continuing his hot play that he brings from Travelers here to the rocket mortgage classic the golf course was receptive it seems like today did you have a green light mentality when you hit the tea yeah for the most part um we kind of decided we were just going to head driver everywhere uh yesterday there’s really only two that you would maybe do something else on 13 and eight um but yeah we’ve been pretty aggressive and then if if I’m in the Fairway I’m basically aiming at everything uh I know the scores are going to be low and there are some instances where I’ve had to play away from a few whole locations but um I’ve driven it pretty well so for the most part I’ve been aiming at a lot of flags what kind of attitude do you bring to a tournament that’s going to yield a lot of birdies like this one is doing yeah I mean I I think kind of how we’ve done it so far is is a good way of doing it I mean there’s there’s certainly a lot of Merit to playing conservatively in a lot of situations um and you can always hedge that way but a place like this where you know you got to make a bunch of birdies you want your good ones to count for something which you know if you’re aiming 15t all day even if you hit it perfect all day you’ve got a bunch of 15 Footers and those don’t all go in so um I think picking your spots well and and when you do get a chance to aim at something just really doing it um cuzz then you get rewarded for some of your good shots cam how close do you feel like you are to having the form that you want um I feel like I’m always getting there um I mean even today there’s things I would have liked to have done a little bit better but I think generally uh I’m hitting it pretty well and I’ve been rolling it nicely the last last little bit here so I feel like I keep getting better and and even if the scores don’t show it I I try to kind of keep doing that all the time and and as much as I feel like um the course haven’t been there I feel like I’m a better golfer than I than I have been in a long time so um just happen to be playing well seems to be working we’ll see you tomorrow thank you thank you third round at The Travelers top 10 at the Masters earlier this year second at Valspar what’s his next step is he the best credential player on tour right now without a major yes um without a major without a win I mean without a win for sure but he’s got the resume to get a major I mean he’s finished second like you said in some big turns also when he came out the first year as a rookie he had five second place finishes and and you look at the golf courses that he had second place finishes at La Riviera Genesis he had a second place finish at there Wells Fargo he finished uh top five at the PGA finished second at the Open Championship so he’s got a game that is just set for the most difficult golf courses and he rises to the occasion on them but then you see him also last week shooting 59 coming out in the final round after shooting 59 birdie in the first four holes kind of ran out of steam there and and ended up faltering a little bit coming down the stretch so he can play birdie ball as well he’s got the whole package there’s no question about it I think he’s got a great man on the bag in Steve Underwood right now uh who’s been around the PGA tour for a long time and he can help Cameron get across the line he has not puted the ball well for two rounds that is bad news for everyone else with his position on the leaderboard but very good news for Cameron young because if he starts putting it like he did last week the way he’s hitting it uh I think cam young could get that first win and I also like what they said on The Telecast I think it’s very analogous to David Deval a young man who’s had a ton of success but without a win and then when he got that first win the snowball went downhill really quick and the trophy shell filled up I think that’s what’s going to happen for Cameron Young
