guy Blitz for a Monday kicking the week off with a boom Another edition of breaking booms we got another one this weekend I had to take yesterday off just too much stuff going on um also had a few cocktails at brunch so it was a it was a busy afternoon you could say drinking and stuff you know takes time out of your schedule anyways anybody watching US Open how about Bryson D Shambo do Shambo yeah that was that was interesting um thought Rory was going to pull that one out not so much not so much talk about choking shees three less than a 4f footer Rory it’s all you needed couldn’t make a four foot putt anyway so we’re still getting adjusted here with the golf course side Studios um the Fairway is uh completely empty right now um I think I could take a lawn chair out there camp out in the Fairway and never be touched by a golf ball that’s how bad you talk about bad golf but our building has only been hit three times so far in the first week by golf balls so there’s that um no windows have been broken so hey guess we’re doing all right anyway uh Hey so the breaking boom is all about Isaiah West a long time uh not a long time but for a while now a month or two uh it’s been kind of assumed he was going to Comm into to the Buckey he pulled the trigger uh so let’s get into it let’s talk about Isaiah um so he’s a uh a three star uh if you go by the 247 composite uh if you go by the 247 Sports uh their rankings he’s a 90 a four star right on the button uh so he’s a 511 208 so he’s got some good size to him uh similar size to uh Bo Jackson both of them are pretty hefty dudes already over 200 pounds um St Joe’s Prep High School in Philadelphia we know the story history of St Joe’s um but anyways the composite is a he’s a three start an 8811 nationally ranked 526 number 44 running back number 16 player in PA now I will say that uh the Buckeye staff believes he’s sorely underrated and they expect a huge jump uh this this year his senior year in his numbers and so you’re GNA see his ratings jump he also has performed well he just won MVP of a Rivals Camp no Under Armour camp in Baltimore back in spring so expect everything to jump a bit for him so um Isaiah West became an instant priority for the Buckey when coach lock took over the running back room back in March uh the Buckeyes offered West in April he was committed when he was committed to Kentucky I’ve been drinking a lot of coffee got my iced coffee going it’s freaking Florida in summertime who drinks hot coffee he a psychopath anyways um so I might talk faster than normal anyway um West didn’t announce the offer he received from the Buckeyes um until nearly a month later he visited Ohio State for the first time on May 11th so just about five weeks ago uh then he decommitted from Kentucky and reopened his recruitment recruitment two days later uh all signs at that point were pointing to the Buckey obviously um so after wrapping up his official visit this weekend uh Wes went ahead and committed to the Buckeyes the decision probably could have been announced a month ago but Wes wanted to make his announcement public after his family got time around Ryan Day and the rest of the coaching staff so uh he wanted them to get comfortable um Isaiah said prior to his official visit this weekend quote initially going up to Ohio State I already had High Hopes it’s a dream School of mine when I get there in May immediately I felt like everyone was holding themselves to a higher standard there’s a consistent striving for excellence all throughout the building and that’s something I really want to be a part of it’s a place where I feel I can continue to better myself which is all I’m really asking for so uh Isaiah West comfort with Ohio state is a result of his relationship with Coach lock um he West also said quote coach lock also has a Clear Vision for me he’s a guy who’s heavily invested in his players and has a true love for the game and the running back position he’s very good at what he does and I’m excited and great ful for the opportunity so let’s talk a little bit about Isaiah West’s running style and and what he brings to the table so Wes runs with a Mean Streak uh he doesn’t shy away from contact UM whether he’s running between the tackles or outside Zone West will fight for every extra yard and he will either power through Defenders or just shake them off um the Buckeye coaches think again think he’s very underrated and uh these recruiting rankings uh there’s a reason why coaches don’t live by the 247 rankings you know so um he doesn’t have the top end speed like some other backs you know like a Zeke Elliott or somebody like that he’s not a sprinter type uh but he makes up for it with his running style and ability to break tackles uh his size also will help him in PR pass protection where he’s he’s very capable to step up and into the hole and and take on a blitzing linebacker uh West has posted some some explosive metrics in testing he has a 34 inch vertical leap jump whatever um and add that to a 10 foot 2 inch broad jump so he’s he’s all around got traits that you want you know explosiveness um he last year in his uh junior year he only had uh 861 yards from scrimmage and 10 touch Downs um in limited use obviously and then uh he was named running back MVP of the Under Armour camp in Baltimore um the Buckeyes started the month of June with zero running backs none none running backs I shouldn’t do that right by my face right anyway um so now they’ve got two two weeks later they’ve got coach lock has two running backs got Cleveland tailback Bo Jackson he committed after his official visit early in June now the Buckey will turn their sights squarely on uh California’s Jordan Davidson uh Davidson’s a number one ranked running back in America he’s going to make his official visit to Ohio State this weekend June 21st and um so that gives the Buckeyes 16 commitments in the class of 2025 they’re stacking them up quickly um then the big that’s obviously the Big 10 ranked class yeah it’s not even close then um the Buckey currently sit at number one nationally still uh if we look at the national rankings the Buckey are number one with a 9484 so West West Lower ranking kind of drops us down a peg but we’re still a point ahead of LSU they’re 9381 Georgia 9344 Oregon 9329 Clemson 9301 uh Bama 9286 USC 9223 and the cheaters 9201 that’s as far as I care to go and so that means we have to update our coaching uh position coach recruiting big board so let me share this with you Joe that’s unprofessional you shouldn’t be drinking while I’m talking so Tim Walton still leading the group with his two commits a 987 Justin fry coming in second with one commit a 969 thought we were going to get another offensive line commit this weekend sounds like Micah deos maybe might be feeling the Buckey a little bit he was on his official this weekend so anyways I’ll keep you updated when when we hear more uh then you got Larry Johnson coming in third with two commits 960 average Keenan Bailey with his one commit a 943 average Brian Harline coming in fifth with two commits a 937 remember we got Quincy Porter on was it Friday night I think um then maeri three commits a 926 average then James litus two commits a 922 average and then uh Lan dropped down to the basement with two it’s a 919 but this is always going to change you know that so yeah good get for the Buckey this is a an expected commitment not a not a huge shocker I I think we’re going to get some more by this week this coming weekend with another round of official visits this is the last round so I’ll have your recruiting Updates this week we’ll let you know the entire list of who’s visiting and uh yeah
