[Music] Bob weeks joins me now time now for Speed golf presented by Michelob Ultra Bob it’s the rocket mortgage Classic this week now the Signature Events are done for the season has this model change been good for the PGA Tour it’s been good and it’s been bad but it’s been necessary and you had great events on the good side like last week at Travelers you have bad events unfortunately like Detroit this week where the field is lacking a little bit of star power but these are necessary these these Signature Events because otherwise players were going to go to live so you have to have these limited field big money events and they’re not going anywhere they’re going to stay next year it’s not great for fans if you have to watch one of the non Signature Events though now Canadian Taylor pendrith is one of the top betting favorites this week at the rocket mortgage how critical is this next stretch for him well he’s having a great year in fact he is the top ranked Canadian on the FedEx Cup ranking right now and people know him as a long bomber but he is also a great putter in fact he’s fourth in Strokes game putting this year this next stretch was really important to him because he wants to make that President’s Cup team for the international side he wants to be in Montreal he wants to play for Mike Weir he wants to help the international team try and win he was on the losing side two years ago in Charlotte he doesn’t want that again now the men’s American Olympic golf team was named last week and US Open champ Bryson Des Shambo is not a part of it that Omission continues to make waves Bob the big question should Bryson be on the team well next to Scotty Sheffer Bryson the Shambo was arguably the best playing American right now in the three Majors this year he’s got a first a second and a sixth but on the world ranking right now there are five Americans ahead of him Bryson knew that and the fan friendly Bryson the real soft Bryson says hey I accept that I understand it I’m going to look towards 2028 and hopefully I’ll make the Olympics then it’s a different Bryson right now but it’s he’s going to be missed at the Olympics this time around now Nelly Corda is on the wom’s American team a month ago we were talking about that she’s having one of the greatest seasons ever now since then she’s missed three straight cuts for the first time in her career including a couple of major championship flameouts what’s up with Nelly’s game right now Bob it’s it’s Bizarro Nelly I mean I don’t really know you go from winning six times to to missing three Cuts in a row to shooting 80 in the US Open under extreme conditions but shooting 81 at the PGA Championship and we can only speculate as to what what’s going on is it her game is there something going on off the course is she injured I have never seen a player go from such a high to such a low so quickly it’s been a wild ride for sure okay Bob as always let’s wrap pick a winner for this week’s event on the PGA tour I’m going to go with Taylor pendrith at the rocket mortgage he finished tied for second here a couple of years ago and to added bonus here I’m picking Mike Weir and Steven am against the field to win the US Senior Open oh the Canadian double I love that this is been another edition of speed golf presented by Michelob baltra speed golf is presented by Michelob baltra 90 calories exceptional taste why not enjoy it all [Music]
