happening now and I mean during football season we all know it’s it’s like non-stop going all week long all right let’s bring in the stars of the show because we gotta get I made another foul last week and we need somebody to kind of tell me I was wrong or tell me I wasn’t wrong all right first of all we have the star of CBS Sports golf coverage one Patrick McDonald and the star of the early Edge one of the great golf handicappers on the planet one Cen Asad who also used to be an attorney so seea last week for those who watch the show they know that I mushed you during the show a couple weeks ago accidentally with the Nationals first five pick so after the 18th hole Tom Kim on Sunday makes a 10- foot putt to go into a playoff after all the craziness yep and uh I tweet out Patrick going for the 50 to1 long shot and I already hit my 14 to1 parlay nice week for us I didn’t say you were gonna win you’re going up against Scotty Sheffer who had five wins seea that’s not a mush right okay so here’s the thing by the way I’ve been really bad in baseball in my with my picks since that mush of of that particular game but I’m not blaming you for that here’s why you were in the wrong okay because of the last claws of the text when you said nice week for us you are basically submitting to the fact that it’s going to be a nice week for everybody which implies that Tom Kim should or probably will get this win even though that’s not what your intent was so being the lawyer on the panel by the way I’m still a lawyer I just don’t practice law trial attorney for 13 years did a lot of negotiating and mediating and arbitrating at mandatory mediations hundreds of them so I am well suited for this you were definitely in the wrong you cannot you can cheer for the 50 to one shot in the playoff and you can mention it it’s not a no- hitter situation you cannot follow that with nice week for us that is unacceptable big time foul Patrick your response on that thread was EC dot dot dot you didn’t just do that I wasn’t saying that Tom Kim in fact I knew Tom Kim was not gonna win he’s going up against Scotty sh we know that you know I wasn’t trying to jinx you right I mean how many times does a professional golfer with a lob wedge in hand misses Mark by 20 yards short to the right plug what happened with that shot by the way like what was that all about uh 111 downwind juice is Flowing probably thought he could get probably carries that like 100ish 105 usually with the juices flowing probably thought let’s get it there all the way one hop stop um and just kind of flared it out came out of it a little bit but look it it it’s it’s okay you see I I was going through some of my outright losers so far this year Keegan Bradley at the Sony wasn’t a good look Nikolai hogard at Tor Pines all of them have come on the last hole which makes it just so much more painful I had Soderberg not during the mixed event when he not not that one luckily but the one in China that was cut to three rounds and he double bogey the last hole to lose I was on that one and so I’ve made a packed with myself I was talking about my hair a little bit pre-show I’m not going to cut my hair until I hit another outright wow could be it could be years honestly it could be years we are going to hit an outright collectively as a show this weekend so you better book that barber appointment for next week and that’s not a mush I’m just telling you that all three of us have the same now I’m now I’m definitely not gonna need to that barber appointment that barber appoint I go to a salon come on come on obviously Barbor come on very disrespectful come I don’t even know what to say all right let’s go to St Salon all right let’s go to story lines Patrick I’m going to start with you here you’re actually excited that the Signature Events are over is that true oh so pumped this is real golf this is real PJ Tour golf Travelers Championship API yeah that’s cool every now and again but you get me the rocket mortgage classic you get me the John Deere classic we get the 3M open up here wind of Championship now my juices are flowing and a lot of these I call it kind of the pgb tour instead of the PGA Tour a lot of these guys who haven’t been able to play the last three months right two Signature Events in the US Open are coming back and they need a really good finish even someone who has been in those Signature Events I was looking through the FedEx Cup standings today just because I don’t have much of a life and Ricky fer 91st in the FedEx Cup standings he is behind Terell Hatton who’s in there but he’ll be shuffled out obviously he’s behind Terrell Hatton who play and then the three Majors oh wow that is Bonkers yeah absolutely Bonkers so uh I also saw that Kevin kizner was behind Jose Maria ol as well way down that’s down the list wow year but yeah I’m I’m excited right there’s there’s a lot to play for this week and moving forward for the rest of the summer you know I have not looked at your uh your DFS picks I can already assume why you’re excited but we’ll get to that in the next I really have not seea this you have to be excited because this is a week for Long Shots right yeah I mean okay two things one Scotty shef was not in the tournament two there’s not a lot of talent in the tournament period so this is I think one of the few occasions where it’s very easy for me whether it’s in a DFS Market or whether it’s in an outright market for me to fade the top of the board and I’m not saying that’s what I’m recommending every body do but I do think the differences between let’s say the 12 to1 shots between the 12 to1 and like 25 to1 and the 30 to1 and let’s say 60 to one I think the margins between those two are so much tighter than they would be in a regular event and and that to me especially in what’s going to amount to a putting contest that doesn’t mean you need you don’t need to be good everywhere else but but you do need to be hot with the Putter and I do think we’re going to see a lot of like a ton birdies we’re going to see a ton of guys that we that don’t normally get hot get hot so I think this is a really so it’s a dangerous tournament too and what I mean by that is we have an expectation that the top of the board is going to play a certain way I don’t think that necessarily applies in this tournament so we want to be careful with that sort of balancing act but I do think there are some guys in that 30 40 50 60 to1 range maybe even in the triple digit range that can threat the top of the leaderboard on Sunday afternoon yeah I think that’s a fair take as well see uh I also my story is will we see another firsttime PGA Tour winner this week and might it be one of the betting favorites because this a weird odd sport you’ve got cam young towards the top at 14 to one he’s never won on the PGA tour you got Alex noren who’s probably never gonna win on the PGA tour at this rate I mean if you can’t win one of these events you’re never wi of the right he’s up there you got other guy Maverick mcne is up towards the top of the leader or the odds makers Bo Davis Thompson is up there Min wo Le is a guy that I’ll talk more about this show never won on the PG like one of these guys has to win so I feel like we’re getting a first-time winner this week unless the guy that we all are on this week uh happens to win and then it’s not a first-time winner nor a firsttime winner this season but I don’t want to spoil that because we’ll talk plenty about him uh throughout the show all right on to DFS picks Patrick I’m oh really I mean I just look at really every week every single week no wonder you don’t like these Signature Events I yeah because Grayson Sig is in the field and he is below s 000 and you’re going there yet again this is a real signature event you see see what I did there I’m here all I’m here all week people forget Grayson Sig at one point at the US Open was on the first page of the leaderboard you guys have proof I sent it to you guys he was inside the top five made the cut made the weekend hit his irons well puted well for him as well the iron play in general has been pretty solid over the last couple of months you think about Myrtle Beach this is kind of a comparable field out outside of maybe five names at the top he finished t13 there played well in corales kind of similar field outside the top five names at the top T9 there so I like his chances at this style of golf course where birdies will be had uh favorite play of the week is probably Le hod is at 7100 I think he has real winning upside iron play has been red hot he’s top five in this field uh so far this year in that category had a nice little spring stretch there at the PGA and Colonial as well and you look at someone like Tony F now who won backto back he went rocket mortgage 3M open Lee hoders winner at the 3M open last year and then Andrew Novak we have not heard or seen him in quite a while because he’s some of those he’s one of those guys who wasn’t able to play The Signature Events or the majors uh but last we saw him in Canada which seems like a lifetime ago top 20 finished there kind of just a poppery pops up and contends every once in a while and kind of a little streaky as well so I’m betting that streak will continue even though he has a little bit of a layoff at 6,700 and I’m not doing it I understand the course fit oh my gosh bombers they’ve won here before it’s going to be awesome firsttime winners uh there’s always a great storyline with the winner it seems like at this golf course I’m not buying cam Young’s weekend I refuse to do it it’s almost a too good to be true situation there so I am fading him at 107 I I don’t know how you can play cam Young At This price or better him 14 to1 is an outright I just a guy that’s never won and had one I mean he had a 37 hole stretch between Friday’s uh ninth hole and Sunday’s 10th hole where he was like 20 under par and outside of that I think he was over par the rest of the tournament you can’t as far as I’m concerned until he wins he beats me I lose okay th this would be the price Cameron young would win at though right everyone was like oh we’ll get him in a good field at like 40 to1 it’d be great don’t get me wrong but just being Cameron young and how the betting Community has bet him so much and how he has continued to Bone the betting Community it would be at like a 12 14 to one but of course Patrick I’m Savvy enough for my outrights to just in case cam young were to win I got this covered and I’ll explain that later all right seea you’re you’re fading the top golfer on the board Tom Kim who is now playing for his ninth straight week does that is that part of the reason why you’re you’re fading him not really although I I don’t love that especially with the intensity by which he had to play on Sunday going into the playoff that Patrick lost thanks to your mush like I think that’s going to be a small factor but the bigger Factor here he’s look it’s DFS it’s a game right like the ownership that I’m looking at for Tom Kim right now and it’s subject to change it’s only Tuesday evening it’s really really high like highest in the field is is what I’m looking at right now by a pretty wide margin and part of the reason for that first of all these numbers can change like I said but part of the reason for that is we have a we have a 5000 th000 range which is strange in my opinion because this this we we lack the Scotties up top uh W with the high prices like you can fit Tom Kim and name another top guy M mui camon doesn’t matter who Alex norn who people like in the chat for whatever reason like you can fit those two guys in and go down to the 6K range or even the 5K range and make a pretty decent lineup so I think that’s part of the reason Tom Kim is super popular outside of the fact that he’s striking it really well well we’re we’re playing a game theory game here and Tom Kim’s playing better than anybody in this tournament that’s why he’s at the top of the board but this is a tournament that’s going to lend itself to a bit more Randomness there’s no way in this tournament in DFS there is no way I’m taking a guy that’s even coming close to 30% ownership whether they’re at the top of the board or not and that’s where I’m seeing Tom Kim I’m fact I’m seeing him above 30% and I honestly I say the same about Min wo Alex norn batia uh Cameron young if they approach 30% I am 100% out this is a Game Theory Game and this is a course where a lot of different people can win this tournament so out on Tom Kim in on Aaron in on Aaron Ry the thing about Aaron Ry is his putter can kind of go away I don’t love him to win this tournament but I do think he’s got some top 10 equity and at 8,800 he’s in a really interesting spot because right above him MAV mcney right below him uh there’s guys like Keith Mitchell Davis Thompson who’s really popular so I think he’s gonna be frozen out just enough for him not to be super popular in spite of the fact that his ball striking has been amazing he could get some ownership but but I do like Aaron Ry at that price at 8,800 again the putter is a bit of a problem but I do think he’s got some top 10 Equity he was he was ninth place last year here Michael thorburn said a little bit of a f flyer here at 8,000 I love his game I think he’s a good course fit and I think he’s a little going a little under the radar because we haven’t seen enough of him and he kind of blew up I think it was round four last week it threw off his metrics completely because in round four he was really really bad and so I think throwing off his metrics there is going to keep his own ownership down because most modeling won’t have him super high and I’m going with another thorbjorn but this time it’s Olen I don’t think thorbjorn Olson’s gonna have any ownership whatsoever because people aren’t going to think he’s a good course fit and he’s probably not but he can get hot with the putter he can get hot with a approach and he’s been pretty good everywhere else and that matches up with his finishing positions this is just one of those flyers I don’t plan on going down into the 6K or 5K range too much because I’m going to have more balanced builds but this guy Olsen I think is going to carry very low ownership and I think he’s super sneaky to top 20 this tournament I mean how can you not put together a lineup of Thor beorn and thorbjorn I mean it’s brilliant right like add Grayson Sig and that’s a winning lineup doesn’t matter who your other three golfers are Patrick what do you think about the OE batia playing eight weeks in a row Tom Kim playing nine weeks in a row you kind of gave us a dissertation the other week of of these guys don’t like to play more than three in a row they get tired and then we see Tom Kim and OE who just don’t want to take a week off yeah they’re they’re 22 Tom Kim single he’s he’s living a good life no one at home to tell him what not and what to do so good for him sounds like he’s not going to play uh he’s gonna play like the open and that’s kind of it and the Olympics of course and then OE I mean they both said like they were playing good golf they felt very close to something good happening and obviously that happened at The Travelers Championship sorry I’m I’m a little distracted by uh the Michael Thor bjor olison uh picks by see you right now I’m just laughing internally to myself time in early wedge history we have back-to-back thorbjorn did you do that on purpose uh a little bit so so I olison and um Michael Thor Borton uh were were kind of on my list and I wanted to find guys that I didn’t think were gonna attract enough attention into in the DFS market so I like I basically kind of forced olison in there I wanted to go maybe a little bit higher but I do think even in matchups so we’ve got a matchup we’ll get to that in a second I didn’t make this one of my official plays but thorbjorn olison is up against Mark Hub and and thorbjorn olison is plus 105 to Mark hub’s minus 130 I think people are going to sneak to the SN to the safety of Mark hubard in that match up and be like oh it’s minus 130 there’s not a ton of juice Mark hub’s pretty reliable I actually think the upside is way bigger on thoron olison so I mean I think that’s a matchup to look at and I again I think he could surprise some people so I like him at 6900 all right see the floor stays with you it’s time forls you only have two that you’re giving out now I’m sure more tomorrow that you’ll give out on early Edge but tell us why you like Bobby Mack yeah my article will probably have at least one more um and I do have a long shot so technically I have three for this show I like Bob I like Robert McIntyre a lot uh I actually think he’s very live to win this tournament he fits the course narrative that that at least the one that I’m pedaling and a lot of other people are pedaling admittedly good putter great off the te can be shaky on approach around the green plays not really going to matter too much here I think Bobby mat is is a really good play in the first round leader market and in the outright market and he has a morning tea time so I like that as well 55 to1 makes a lot of sense he can get real hot so can toasty Alejandro toasty at 90 to1 a guy that I’m probably not going to back to win in the outright Market although his odds have been bet down from like 125 to like 90 in some places so he’s getting a lot of attention another good course fit can Bomb It Off The Tea uh can just get hot in general 90 to1 morning tea time I like that I’ll probably add one to this list at least coming up next uh Patrick’s matchup picks I I’ve going back and forth like some of them I like some of them I don’t like we’ll see if you agree let’s see after one of our we hear from one of our [Music] sponsors [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] lentle time change know it’s time [Music] chra all I [Music] know so Patrick if we’re F if we’re collectively fading Tom Kim we kind of have to do the same with oxay right same thing like eight plus weeks playing we we no no oxay this week right we we’re gonna we’re gonna fade him right that’s that’s what we’re going to do everywhere across the board I’m I’m f Cameron young okay no why would you pick a guy eight straight weeks of O and we’re gonna well okay fair enough let’s hear it go for it he’s young 22 whole life in front of him full of energy and uh he’s a much better player than Cameron young at the moment he’s driving the ball great the iron play took a nice step last week needs to improve a little bit I would say um but the putter is also awesome with that broomstick so you’re giving me plus money over Cameron Young Who outside of two rounds what has been Dreadful uh for the most part of uh the past couple months I will take that EVR this is uh this price I can only explain it based on course history evr’s missed two cuts Cam Davis has obviously won here and has a couple good outings as well since that win but he he’s been pretty bad over the last handful of months EVR missed the cut at the US Open but outside that the iron play looks awesome just general ball strikings in a good spot and the putter uh is great as well and then Aaron Ry minus 130 over will zalatoris zotus doesn’t have a top 40 finish since the Masters and Aaron Ry has just the game you want around this place he’s gonna find a ton of Fairways great from T green like ca said the putter can come and go but I’m hoping he honestly won’t need it to beat will zator so I’m willing to pay the juice on that one even though the names suggest otherwise okay very enough I I can get behind it that’s fair now CA I I know you like McIntyre Taylor Moore’s history at Detroit golf club is actually really good doesn’t he have back-to-back top 10 something like that I know his recent play hasn’t been good but we’re fading him for Bobby Mack yeah I’m I’m in on Bobby Mack this week in a pretty big way by the way I wna I want to mention some of the um some of the comments I wasn’t trying to criticize those who like Alex noren this week I think he’s a fine play I probably won’t be playing him but um I wasn’t trying to disparage anybody to I I Love Weed says always pick a Kim may I recommend sh Kim maybe in the first round leader Department uh but I do think sh Kim has some upside a really good putter as well Wily Z is in autof fit says jpar 1320 okay let’s get back to the subject at hand okay here’s the thing about Taylor Mo and try to follow me here because I’m kind of this is more of a stream of Consciousness thing first of all incoming form I like Bobby Mack way more than Taylor Mo but you’re right youc like his course history speaks for itself it’s not like he’s just top 20 these things like he’s almost winning these things over the last two years the the first of those two I think they were both top five somebody can correct me if I’m wrong it was like one was like definitely a top five the other one was in that top five neighborhood he gained over nine Strokes putting that was the one two years ago over nine Strokes putting and for the record Taylor Moore can gain several Strokes putting but he ties Bobby Mack in that department in what I I don’t mean literally but Bobby mat can get hot with the putter too so I’m not worried about the putter part of that him gaining nine Strokes putting and being very average ball striking two years ago I think that’s just more of an anomaly than anything but then you’re going to be like okay well what about the other year that he top five well he was great in the ball striking Department there the pro really good he was okay with the putter but he was great with the ball striking the only problem with that is he’s not been great with the ball striking lately so which one of those top fiveish scenarios do I am I tracking am I am I tracking the one with the super hot putter like not really and even if I was Bobby Matt can do that too and the other one is the ball striking which he was excellent and maybe he has good feel for this course but his recent form is so poor that that I I’m willing to say to myself all right I don’t think we’re going to see similar ball striking based on his recent form and then it goes to Bobby Mack who I think can win this tournament and is a is a probably a better course fit certainly in the in the better form um I’m getting plus money for that I think this is one of those where the where like the Casual observer looks at it and says oh minus 130 I mean tayor Moors dominated this course I think they’re kind of like baiting you into this play and I think Bobby Mack is the right side of it kind of like the olison play against Mark Hub I think those are two kind of like crafty sneaky plays both at plus 105 the only other play I have for now I’ll probably throw in another matchup or two in my article uh top Canadian Taylor pendrith there’s only four Canadians here one of them is Roger Sloan I don’t think he can compete with pendrith over four rounds uh the other one is Adam well one of the other two is Adam senson um senson might be good in this tournament but overall I don’t think he’s as good of a course fit he certainly doesn’t have the history that Taylor pendrith does and then the other Canadian I’m forgetting him right now but he’s he’s third in line and I wasn’t super worried about him either so give me Taylor pendri that plus man A Plus 120 Patrick I know you’re gonna try to pull that one off the top of your head Canadian you know who it is go for it it’s Ben Silverman there it is and for the record I think Ben Silverman is sneaky and he can get hot with the putter but but here’s the thing so can Taylor pendrith and Taylor pendrith does everything else better than Ben Silverman so over four rounds assuming they both make the cut I like T Taylor Panthers upside tremendously over Ben Silverman but Silverman’s sneaky so it’s been raining a lot in Michigan this week which means the course is going to play longer okay fine that’s great 7,300 yards going to play longer so I want a guy that can drive the golf ball pretty well driving distance is important Taylor pendrith happens to rank 15th in that this season and somebody who’s masterful on the greens and oh by the way pendrith is also fourth in Strokes gain putting on the season you got to play him everywhere we’re going to talk about Taylor pendrith a lot going forward over Stephen jger I hate to do this to you see I know jger is your boy uh but I mean listen pendrith has a great history here he’s finished tied for second and 14th here over the last year last two years with masterful ball striking he’s gained more than 17 shots combined with the driver and irons which is impressive so I like that nothing against joerger this is more of just a play pendrith and not necessarily a fade joerger uh who could very well finish in the top 10 I I’m going to roll with Min Le over Tom Kim that the nine straight weeks for Tom at some point that’s got to wear him out and Min Le has kind of a weird Trend going on right now in his last five tournaments he’s finished all between 251st and 26th I think he’s gonna do a lot better this week and I’m gonna tell you why he’s well rested and he faces a field that on Raw Talon alone should absolutely dominate the driver and putter are have been great of late and that’s the perfect formula as I mentioned with pendrith for winning here in Detroit so those are my two head-to-heads now seea moving on to uh the placements uh you’re like you’re going with pendri you’re kind of laying some juice and and I don’t hate it I mean I I can argue and I’m gonna talk about pendrith in the top 10 but you’re gonna play him in the top 30 why so low so here’s the thing the top 30 Market over the last like five or six weeks I think that’s the market I I’ve sort of settled in as as the most comfortable market for me and it’s not offered anywhere everywhere I should say so it’s one of those things where you can kind of take my advice and be a little bit more risky if you’re only getting top 20 top 40 and put in the top 20 Market or you know pay even higher juice in the top 40 Market that’s kind of up to you but like DraftKings is a place that offers the top 30 markets sometimes B MGM does uh and sometimes other books do as well I think Taylor pendrith is one of those plays that like I I think we all agree he can win this tournament he’s coming in with really good recent form minus 125 isn’t so much juice for me to forsake and get the extra 10 spots that I wouldn’t get in the top 20 market so this is just one of those deals where I think Taylor pendrith could have like a couple average days and a couple like great Taylor pendrith type days in terms of what his recent form has been and still be tucked nicely within that top 30 again minus 125 it’s basically like I’m I’m playing a matchup effectively in terms of the juice and I don’t mind doing that in this case because because Taylor pendrith what I’m really what I’m really securing against EC is like a very average or below average day of the four days that I think he’s going to play and and that’s why I’m doing the top 30 same with Aaron Ry the thing about Aaron R like we’ve talked about it can go south with him with the putter but even when it does if you look at his finishing positions first of all we mentioned T9 here last year I believe but look at his finishing positions over his last five tournaments I mean he’s finishing very nicely inside the top 40 and and a lot of times finishing inside the top 20 the only times he’s falling to that top 40ish or I should say top 30ish market is when the putter is really failing him so I think in this field against this talent I think top 30 is very reasonable I’ll pay the juice minus 115 and then I’m just is going to take a shot at thorbjorn olon again at plus 190 for a T30 I think this number is a little bit wrong but again thorbjorn is is olison I should say is a bit of an unknown relative to some of these other guys I’ll pay the plus 190 uh by the way before we get uh go on further I got my two matchup plays from DraftKings Patrick where’d you get yours uh DraftKings in unibot C you got yours where these are all DraftKings because I didn’t see the T30 Market at B MGM right uh so yeah DK I got my finishing positions at there because they’re all with ties well the first two are with ties they don’t have top 40s with ties Davis Thompson top 20 I mean plus 150 I feel like we’re on to something here he was ninth at the US Open he was second in Myrtle Beach 17th to Charles schwaben on I think his second appearance here last year he was t24 not bad he’s getting close and I think he’s going to have a big weekend we’re getting plus 150 for the top 20 absolutely love it Matt Wallace top 20 we haven’t talked about him yet getting plus 210 he has three top 20s in his last five events worldwide and two top 12 finishes and three appearances here so that’s pretty darn good history so here’s a great trivia question about the rocket mortgage classic there’s only one player who’s played all five tournaments and has finished in the top 40 every he’s made the cut every time only player to make the cut every time and he’s finished in the top 40 every time Patrick without cheating well you probably already saw who is it I I know I I saw I saw but I I would have Rock unbelievable over the past handful of months as well that’s GNA be crucial so I I I love pendy which uh which is concerning because we all love him so it could be a college game day situation unfortunately um and for all the heat that this man took at the beginning of the episode e saying he’s definitely not going to win seea making fun of people in the chat liking him and then taking it back which you know he took it back Alex noren 30 to one great course history he is number one in total Strokes gained this year among those in the field which means he’s been the best player in this field in 2024 I’m Gonna Roll the Dice and then Davis Thompson as well 35 to one uh like you laid out there e and the one start he finished t24 I think last year or two years ago the other start he was the first- round leader opening 62 as well in 2021 I believe great on Donald Ross designs so uh I’m riding the Bulldog I think that’s an outstand wait you have norin in there okay two out of three are great calls thank you I mean I think noren’s a great golfer he just doesn’t win he I need to add that’s what I need that’s the energy I need e you know what okay Jake can you bring up the uh the about it thought about it I mean I was gonna give you incentive if you took him so last week we got a little bit of a scare I mean uh fow was up there Klay was up there cam young was up there for a little while yeah we got a little bit of a scare for a bit and then Scotty Sheffer um six times now has won since I put him on this list well not yeah it’s not aged well basically won every time since you put him on the list well it’s you know I blame it on these Signature Events they need to go wait I love the signature event what am I talking about Patrick hates them they need to go away because Scotty sheffler just wins all of them that he plays in right I think he’s won the last four that he’s played in is that right something like that he’s won everyone he’s played in with the Mallet putter wow I guess it’s time for all of us to go byy Putters all right CIA who do you like for your outrights and uh why is Steven joerger not on that list because I worry about his putting and and I think you’re going to have to putt well for either four rounds or three out of four rounds I just don’t by the way jerger has really good course history here with that said I’m just not looking for somebody of his like good course fit other than the putting issues so I’m going for Putters and Taylor pendrith and Robert McIntyre fit that description we’ve already spoken about how pendrith can pour it in he’s also got really good course history almost won this EV event previously um there’s not a lot to say about Taylor like obviously like the ball striking I I suppose could be better but by the way he’s won this like he’s won this year and same with Robert McIntyre so I’ll just group these guys together Robert McIntyre won what was it the RBC Canadian Taylor pendrith won the CJ cup Byron Nelson like these guys have proven that they can win albeit in softer Fields but win nonetheless and this isn’t the exact setup we have here except this is even in my opinion a better course fit those so I like both of these guys this Taylor pendrith number was when I published My article which was I believe yesterday morning or was it this morning I’m trying to remember when it actually got published but I got this at 35 to1 it slipped to 30 it’s been like 25 in some markets as well Robert mcky is just saying steady at 40 to1 I like both of these guys I have a long shot as well but I may add a shorter shot like I’m really debating with myself whether I want to take with my with one additional outright for example like a minm Lee whose num’s already been chopped from 28 to 20 to1 somebody like that or if I want to spend maybe money on two more outrights at longer odds so I haven’t made that decision yet I’ll publish that in my article but these were my first two clicks then they’re my most confident plays from an outright standpoint well we’re all we have some Synergy this week uh nobody’s really talked about Min Le I mentioned him a little bit earlier on in my matchup play over Tom Kim but at 20 to1 here I feel like it’s great value I know he’s never won on tour and I’m just bash Patrick’s pick of noren who also hasn’t one onour smaller sample size Fair min’s got the game to win if he can’t win in this field we might add him to the list the list has not expanded in a few weeks I think it’s time we got to shrink the font because somebody either norin or Min Lee is getting added to this list next week put norin on the list this week Jake I mean it’s if you say then we’ll all have to bet it put him on the list this week so then I got smart you ow you owe me that much you okay fair all right norn it is okay fair so then I said all right if we’re not going to do OE and we’re we’re gonna Fanatics they have this Market no batia no cam Young no mini no Tom Kim so I can get Taylor pendrith at 22 to1 uh I can get Aaron ryatt 25 to1 who I like a lot plus he wears double gloves which I used to do on the golf course and Davis Thompson at 28 to1 I mean I know I’m paying a little bit more of a premium than Patrick is on those but I’ll tell you what it’s worth it because I’m knocking out the four favorites not that we need to worry about any one of them winning except for minu Lee but nonetheless we can cash both bets here if minu wins and one of these guys finish the second and then if that happens I’m making a bet for you guys next week on the show a parlay uh but I won’t mush anyone’s picks in between I Patrick I promise if Alex noren is in contention on Sunday I’m just putting the phone away like it’s I I just I Jake can take me off the text Hodes train you and CA both going down that way why why would we like Le let’s go I did not know this uh his iron play has been awesome he is top five in this field in 2024 in Strokes gained approach the putter can come and go but generally the ball striking been awesome like I said he had that stretch uh in May where he really found his game and uh I think he’s he’s just a a sneaky play at 75 to one to uh potentially take this one down all right see you uh lee Hodes why do you like him and then tell us about Kelly craft at a at a big number I mean if that happens you should be buying us lunch for a week that’s right so let’s start with lee hajes yeah the iron play has been great he can kind of spray it off the tea that shouldn’t hurt him too bad here the off te game you need some work but approach putter like it like that’s not necessarily the recipe here but if you’re going to be super dialed in on both of those I’ll absolutely take it especially when you’re number 75 to one I think Lee Hodes is one of those guys he’s he’s one of many guys that are going to be in the 60 to 125 to one range that are going to be at the top of the leaderboard Saturday Friday and potentially on Sunday so I mean again I don’t think this is a tournament that while the guys at the top are clearly the the better talents I don’t think this is a tournament where we’re going to see like more than half of those guys at the top on Sunday a lot of those guys are going to fade and a lot of guys like Lee hodgers are going to creep up as far as the first- round leader you might remember me repping out Kelly craft at the zerk classic when he was playing with Kevin TW I gave three DFS plays and then I was like the one the other one I was considering at like 5700 was Kelly craft and Kevin to they actually had a good tournament craft is one of those guys he hasn’t played a ton but he can get really high with the birdies and while I don’t expect him to contend in this tournament at 150 to one is he worth three bucks actually no but is he worth two bucks as a long shot the answer to that for $300 is yes he can get hot for a round for sure lunch on seea if that happens all right uh last week your boy hit a 14 to1 parlay with Brian Harmon and Tony feno in the top I mean we were long we were long overdue with I know we’ve had a rough go with these parlays but we don’t stop every week of the show I’m going to do these I’m going to I’m going to have these in there and we’re going to hit some every now and then now look at this one pendrith and Davis Thompson top 10 at 20 to1 all right so this will be half my normal size bet but okay we can get behind that if Davis Thompson pops like we saw at the US Open and in Myrtle Beach and look at this top 21 I mean in honor of you Patrick we got Alex norn in there in honor of you seea we got Stephen jger and in honor of me we got double gloved Aaron Ry because that’s how I used to play uh you know Golf and then I realized you don’t you know you got to just stick with one glove it’s just the way to go anyways at 14 to one I mean based on all the logic that has been given out on this program tell me that is not a good ticket now somebody that we have not talked about on the show yet uh Ricky Fowler Patrick are you he won this tournament last year and won me some money so I appreciated that but this year not so good why are you not playing Ricky this week because Ricky fer is bad at golf in 2024 like I said at the top he is 91st in the FedEx Cup standings that is dreadful for a player like Ricky Fowler he has two top 20 finishes the second came last week it was a lot of putting um so unfortunately the leadin form is nowhere compared to what it was last year when he was awesome he was playing like a top 10 top 15 player in the world see a couple uh mention in the chat here Keith Mitchell and Eric Cole which one do you like better which which one would you put your money on from a value standpoint I would say I would probably put a few bucks on Eric Cole um I have a you know I have a problem with Keith Mitchell and DFS because I think he’s GNA be popular because the ball striking is so good it’s just the putter that’s an issue I mean listen if if there was gonna be a tournament that like cam young or Keith Mitchell would would win if they either of them got a hot putter it would be this tournament but I’m just not counting on that like the my whole approach to this week is you got to be showing some consistency or some ability to spike with the Putter and those two guys even joerger like even though he’s got good history here they haven’t shown me enough there so it’s easy for me to not completely disregard them but to like not have them for example on my outright card see earlier in the show Patrick mentioned that he really enjoyed these tournaments these full field 156 player events as compared to the Signature Events how do you feel about that totally agree I’ve said this before and I I’m not like proudly saying it I’m not like this isn’t for clicks I I like a cut I like a full field I I I honestly get just as excited this is going to sound weird I get just as excited about the rocket mortgage as I do the Masters and I know that sounds crazy and first of all that’s a little different now because of the Liv situation now like they played the major so of course that’s going to be naturally more exciting but this is a statement I made two years ago like I’m in this not because I’m like like a golf purist I’m in this because I love golf DFS and I love golf betting and I love the drama of a cut and I love having 150 players that I can scan as opposed to 71 so for me like these are these are just as much gold as some of these other tournaments and again I understand how hyperbolic that statement was that I just made but again when the when the prices come out Monday for outrights and when they come out Monday for DFS pricing I get just as excited exced as I do the week prior the week prior to that the week prior to that I absolutely love this event Patrick uh you’re not going to sway me on that uh but there’s no way you can enjoy the Masters as like you can’t enjoy this as much as the Masters right uh I I do like the Masters more than the rocket mortgage classic I will uh I’ll stick my neck on out out the out on the line for that one all right so then we’ve never answered this on the program yet your favorite Tournament of the year if you could pick one event to go to or just to watch uh with the field of your choice which is it see I’ll start with you that’s a good question I’m just like scanning all the tournaments as we speak if there’s one that kind of sticks out to me I mean it probably would be the masters of all of them yeah I I’ll go with the Masters but again I’m I’m in that camp where like I’m I’m in it for different reasons and so they all kind of blend together to me Patrick uh Players Championship great viewing there it’s meant to be viewed the course was built for people on the ground to get great views of the action you get the full field as well so that’s nice and uh yeah I’ll go with the the players J par says Augusta Turtleman says if not Masters Waste Management I wouldn’t go that far from a tournament that I go to every year but I agree with David Us open because it’s challenging as heck loved it I would
