Golf Tips: Step 1 to Fixing your Slice – Control the Curve

Welcome to GOLFTEC’s latest video on SKYTRAK’s innovative training ground, designed to help you take control of your slice! In this video, we introduce the Left to Right Command Range, a powerful tool to help right-handed golfers fix their slice by mastering the curve.

What You’ll Learn:
The Left to Right Command Range is designed to start your shot left of your intended target and bring it back to the middle without crossing the center line. The goal is to take a bad left-to-right slice and transform it into a controlled fade:
– 7 out of 10 shots: Skilled players should start their shots left and not cross the center line.
– 9 out of 10 shots: Tour players aim to achieve this level of precision.

Pro Golf Tip:
1. Setup: Align your feet and clubface left of the center line or the tree on this particular improvement range.
2. Focus: Monitor the Face to Target number on your SKYTRAK. Aim to get this number to the left of your target line to reduce the slice and keep the ball more to the left.

Why It Works:
For most right-handed golfers who slice, the club path moves left of the target line. By focusing on the Face to Target number and ensuring it stays left, you can significantly reduce the slice.

Next Steps:
Once you master 7 out of 10 shots starting left and not crossing back over the center line into the water, progress to the Right to Left Command Range, also known as “The Wall” Improvement Range, to start hitting that perfect push draw.

[Music] that might be what you wanted oh that could be it oh started too straight curving to the right very popular thing a lot of people at home will resonate with that and we know you weren’t trying to do that everybody at home that was a intentional Mariah we’re on the left to right command range look at the shot you just hit while we were trying to fix that last take that was really good little pull little curve to the right nice job that’s the goal that’s what everybody wants to do now we’ll talk about how to do that and then hang out till the end we’ll get a few Pro tips in here if you with this kind of shot so I like this range because it can be intimidating if you’re a slicer a lot of people can hit slices but they don’t know how much it’s going to slice it might slice a good one like you did right there then four more shots end up in the water big problem so this is a great training ground to improve your game get better at golf okay think you can hit another one like that I can try just like that okay yeah honestly I don’t really want you to do that anyway I’d rather you curve one too far to the right so people can get a little taste of that but okay do your thing all right that might be what you wanted oh that could be it oh started too straight curving to the right very popular thing a lot of people at home will resonate with that and we know you weren’t trying to do that everybody at home that was uh intentional of course so this is a cool way to practice you get to see how far the golf ball goes you get a little bit of Club data which we’ll talk about here in a second but mainly it’s just the intimidation of how many in a row can you do a real skilled person who can curve the ball to the right maybe seven out of 10 times can hit a solid shot that doesn’t go in the water but does curve to the right with me on that yes and then when you get up to like the most elite players and the best players in the game they’ll hit nine out of 10 that maybe don’t cross the target line if they wanted to so that was a good rendition of how to pull that one off nice okay so if you had to curve this ball to the right but make sure you never hit it in the water here’s how you would do it go ahead and set up to this ball okay first major part of this is really understanding why people slice so I’d prefer everybody really hit the ball very straight and if they did have a problem it would be the tiny little draw not much curve at all though straights a really nice and easy way to play golf if you need to yeah well that’s how you normally play that first shot so on this one let’s aim the your stance line and the club face slightly more to the left than the target line okay now you’re set up to at least hit the shot that’s going to start to the left with me there okay okay now the easiest way that you can Envision this uh at home if you did want to stop slicing or just command the curve that you’ve got Club face just has to aim more to the left that end of itself will give you more more of a pull okay and less of the slice to the right that’s where most people go wrong is this shot aim the face very straight swing to the left like on this one you’ve got a club path that’s 3.2 to the left but your face angle was aimed 0.2 to the right need those to really flip-flop to hit a draw but to make sure that you don’t uh start the ball right on your target we’re just playing around with the face to Target number and turning that more to the left now your swing path is always to the left of the face anyway when you hit these slices so for you I wouldn’t do anything different other than just aim the face more to the left okay pretty simple but that’s how you start to just learn and understand how to have some command of this nicely done you get a little bigger pull less likelihood to curve it to the right into the water I know you didn’t hit that one great but there’s a shot that pulled 11° and curved slightly to the right you could just do that seven out of 10 times and you’d be in a pretty good track to have an idea of what’s going to happen when you get out to the course using all these training rounds yeah uh so that would be a great place to start the other one is just to add some elements of hitting a draw which we did in a separate training grounds video for the same exact shot just the water on the other side so set up to this one aim your Club to the left and then go ahead and grip it like you do normally turn your hips and shoulders more closed or to to the right of the target you got it now what you’re doing here is just programming your swing direction to be more in to out than out to in that will reduce some of that curve too in this case you might be more likely to actually draw this ball but you won’t slice it into the water all right do your thing we’re hit the tree oh I heard you talk about that one a little bit oh the push got bigger so that one your face your face angle was open to the Target 4 degre your swing path got more to the right but the face angle didn’t travel with it so let’s do one more of those one more time okay still going to aim your feet to the left still aim the club face to the left of the target you got it close your hips and shoulders slightly improving That Swing Direction More to the right you’re ready to do your thing nicely done I think that one will start a little straighter yeah but looks like it should be Dr the tiniest little curve to the right and all you did there was just bring your club path a little closer to the Target which reduces some of that slice so a bunch of different ways you can fix your slice just by understanding that data practicing on these kind of training grounds and you’ll hit some better shots that way ni do you think yes and overcome my fear of being behind a tree yes with water to the right yeah that’s true I mean just hitting shots on this there’s a lot of intimidation you’re you’re kind of getting past it’s not quite like being on the golf course exactly but it’s the next best thing you got no danger of hitting that tree and bouncing the ball back to you nice job that also is a plus you did awesome all right so uh the training grounds that you see here plus the other ones that we’ve got in a few other videos are only found on the sky trck software
