am I already have will working on that episode while I recap the horrible UFL Championship yeah people are asked they’re like Tom can you stream it on Sunday and I was like absolutely not and they’re like why I was like because I don’t have any interest like I I haven’t been paying attention all season I don’t know any of the story lines and I tuned in because I was watching some of the Euros yesterday I tuned in afterwards and I saw it was like 20s something nothing and I was like I’m very glad I did not watch this game yeah is rough it’s it’s unfortunate because like you want that game to be good obviously you want the championship to be a good game but for a league like that that desperately needs to convince people to like watch and keep watching if somebody was just casually like oh yeah I’ll check out the championship like what else do I have to do on Father’s Day I hate my dad I’m gonna watch the UFL instead that’s the message they wanted it’s like that game would convince you to not watch that League like that’s how bad it was and oh the for I wanted I wanted the brahmas to win Wade Phillips is their head coach rooting for him but the the effort from their quarterback Chase garbers was was sad it was there’s a couple plays where one he he runs out of bounds like this short of the first down marker doesn’t extend the ball nothing and then later in the game it’s like their last chance to to have a chance scrambles to his left and he just slides short of the first down marker just slides in a championship game like he could a dove forward and got it like so it was it on top of it not being a good game there was like questionable effort from your quarterback like it was weird it was like I when he did I wasn’t even invested in the game like yeah I was at my dad’s house I was uh getting ready to like grill steaks like I had staks in my hand I was like let me just see this play and I saw him do that and I just yelled at the TV I like what the [ __ ] are you doing if that ain’t that ain’t a Father’s Day for Brandon per I don’t know what it is no he’s about to grill some steaks yelling at the TV was there some clouds in the sky that looked a little off and you were like I’m going to yell at them too I mean it was it was a like I didn’t really care and I was just so mad at that play like I’ve never seen an like a such a like if that happened in an NFL game it would be the biggest story ever we’d be saying that guy bet on the game dude look at Kirk Cousins like Kirk Cousins right when he threw short like against that game against the Giants and people were like oh my God this was so bad and that even took a little while to shake off yeah that one that would not be shaking off we’ have been like this game is rigged he’s throwing the game yeah now it came out that he might have like a contract with an NFL team something in the works said he was making business decisions either way it was uh yeah not the I didn’t think I would get mad and I got genuinely like pissed off that’s disappointing I know and it’s you know and it’s it’s fun to do like be like really dramatic about the the NFL and get super angry but with the UFL like you’re I’m rooting for all of these guys because so many of them are trying to keep their career and their dreams alive so you don’t want to be like overly critical just for entertainment sake but like this was a bad look sucks and this like there was early in the season there were so many good games it’s just unfor a stinker well and that because I when I turned it on it was like 20s something nothing yeah even the announcers were like well like don’t let this game be reflective of like the good season that like the we we’ve seen some really good football guys like I prom that’s what sucks there was there was good football but anyway not anymore I wouldn’t say a real Madrid fan but definitely got me more in touch with soccer been watching the Euros so it uh it worked for that it worked for that listen true true how can do it what you imagine either president could convince me that the Broncos would be great again you got my vote that’s it that’s all it takes you’re like I’m a a single issue voter and it’s the state of the Denver Broncos what are you going to do for my team’s salary cap oh sir what that does what are you going to do where where will you name me commissioner of the NFL it’s true that’s what I want that’s the only way I’d get into politics is be guaranteed some high level uh position within the NFL your dad’s a champ man on Father’s Day Too on Father’s Day let’s go has a warm butt yeah I saw that what was that Rory right Rory listen I don’t watch golf I’ve never watched golf ever but I know that Rory messed up yesterday right that’s what it was I didn’t see it I know Bryson won I watch full swing on Netflix that’s a great way to get you into yeah you get to know all the personalities but that’s what like people were saying like with the F1 show too like it really got them into F1 because they just like gives that storyline and stuff like that like even with quarterback like you know listen you and I talked about this and we were like we’ve seen all this right it’s just a different way to present it but if you’re not as like committed to the sport or not as engaged with the sport it’s a good way to like kind of just dip your toe and be like Oh I’m going to root for this guy like I’m going to hope for this team because now I know them for this so yeah that’s like you have to build connections either to your team or to the people involved in the the sport right and right now like what’s happening like with the the WNBA like it’s getting people interested because there’s like people are talking about it being like divisive or whatever I think like it’s good it’s good to be rooting for or against Caitlyn Clark or Angel Reese or like the fact that people are are kind of getting interested in even if it’s for the wrong reasons you’re getting people developing relationships like with these people and following it they want to see more like fouls and fighting and [ __ ] but like the and I’ve I was thinking about this this morning like with the UFL I’m like they’ve got to figure out other ways to get people invested in the teams and the players and having like those you got to have compelling storylines and I think Netflix they they have a a bunch of of those whether it’s quarterback or full swing or I just started the uh uh second season of the tour to France uh documentary they do and they follow like the writers through the the race and it’s really cool and you should watch that if you get back on your bike Tom watch the tour to France documentary and when they’re when they’re pedaling hard you’ll find yourself pedaling harder like he’s struggling I can make it through this stretch too I can do the tour to France sure he crashed and his knees all [ __ ] up but I’m my my muscles are tired I’m going to ride with him put them in I was able to add the new coaches okay as long as you put them in then you’re right the fastest way was to add the new coaches to this list because there was a there was a 2024 coaching going to kind of see how this one goes I think for right now he’s good yeah and when you’re starting quarterbacks you know injured for half of the first season you’re there you’re basically you’re given a red shirt as a Coach Harbaugh is also cold too you know rap yeah s also C right we throw there okay now let’s let’s start getting down to business uh let’s get into some in my opinion hot seats uh Mike McCarthy that’s hot that’s I I think McCarthy be hot he was like the one coach we thought would get canned you bring in Dan Quinn to replace him I think Mike McCarthy’s seat got a little little bit cooler once Quinn left because was the easy replacement right we all thought you know yeah McCarthy [ __ ] up they’ll just they’ll just bring in Dan Quinn yeah I think salah’s seat super hot oh yeah super hot that thing is like oh I can barely sit on this thing it’s hotter than Robert Salah himself my friend that’s GNA be tough what about what about Zack Taylor where’s he at I feel like warm Bengals fans say cold uh warm cold warm cold warm cold I think his job is safe but I don’t think he’s like to me the the cold candidates are kind of immune from scrutiny for this upcoming season and in my opinion I think warm is saying like look if things don’t go well this year 2025 you’re gonna have to deliver and I think Zack Taylor might be in that category I wouldn’t disagree I mean I’ve been talking about Zack Taylor for a few years now cuz I was like I see a little Mike McCarthy action with Joe burrow but then there’s like they also have the out because Joe burrow has been injured so it’s kind of like okay there’s some flexibility in leeway that’s there so yeah I would say right now warm is a good one but it’s like it’s very moderately warm very yeah uh mcdermit I think at least warm at least and it’s like I don’t know about bordering hot but it’s it’s at least MC D’s [ __ ] hot man you think so it’s hot hot yeah I think he’s hot all right I think yeah you could say hot or warm it’s hard to knock a a coach who gets their team into the playoffs every year um but we saw we saw the the bills offense take a step back after dble left they res they they fixed that last year when they they got rid of K dorsy so hope y we see him go further in the playoffs they have to go further they to me it’s like it’s one of those really tough decisions like how do you get rid of Coach keeps getting you there but if we get a better Coach I think somebody who can get even more out of the bills offense and Josh Allen and that’s hard to say it’s like to take him over the hump to get to the super you need to get to the Super Bowl yeah I got you I think at this point you got to question whether McDermot can do that see lens see I’m curious like pizzles with that too because saying dolphin like I think that Mike McDaniel like his is at minimum warm I think if they don’t deliver this year like there’s potential they could let him go but I don’t think they like it’d have to go really poorly but yeah I just think they put together so many pieces and expensive pieces and now this year they’re like all right we’re going to run it back and we’re going to try it again like it’s it’s warm potentially hot yeah I think year three for a head coach is just generally a warm year yeah um and I think like with all the in injuries are unfortunate but you kind of got to look at the coach and your medical staff your strength training staff like how do we get better at not getting hurt um we really think McDaniel’s completely ice Dolph man to tell me they’re really I I mean I personally would have McDaniels as ice cold I put him at ice cold then I would put him colder than any coach on this list but that’s because I like him more than all of these coaches I think McDaniel I like him too okay um Dolphins got to get to the playoffs and get a win in the playoffs they got to the playoffs last year they got to get a win in the playoffs excuse me all right throw him in the cold then throw him in the cold I think he’s warm oh you oh I thought you said you I thought you just said he was no I said me person like if I’m saying I love Mike McDaniel so much gotcha he couldn’t do anything to convince me to fire him outside of a horrific crime I’m saying Mike McDaniel would have to murder another human before I said you know what Mike let’s talk about your job security it’s a little and even then I think he could convince me to keep him that’s her yeah like I’m just looking at it as the Dolphins have put together so many pieces they made Big Time trades right they have these big contracts come their head to make a decision on Tua it’s we got it like it has to come together and yes they’re making the playoffs don’t get me wrong but both playoffs for injuries and other reasons have been incredibly lackluster so like it’s just there’s something that you got need to stay healthy and they need to win a playoff game like they need to win a playoff game yeah Mike McDaniel is a I think he’s a good head coach I think he’s incredible play caller the reason I’m going to keep him on warm is dolphin’s owner Steven Ross he’s another one of those Wild Card guys yeah like he fired Brian Flores kind of out of nowhere right like that was a surprise when that happened so I think anybody who believes in stability with the dolphins with Steph Ross as your owner and I think he’s done a good job since Brian Flor has left like I don’t trust it I don’t trust Steven Ross to say Mike is cold so you know what put him in cold put him in cold right now I I Dolphins fans I appreciate the the inside it just seems from the outside looking in it seems like there’s a lot of pressure right now on Mike McDaniel to get that playoff win and if they don’t then it’s gonna be like between Salah mcarthy and Dennis Allen is your three hottest seats yes I literally yep exact serani is up there if they’re like really bad but serani is there but I think like the Eagles have a very good chance to be good really good still I agree and like the Cowboys should be really good still as well but with Mike McCarthy they need to be better than really good yes like if the Eagles get into the playoffs and win a game serani probably saves his job if the Cowboys do exactly what they did last year they’re probably he’s probably gone like feels like McCarthy’s got to get to a Super Bowl to save his job right or loseing away in the playoffs where it doesn’t feel like get to the NFC championship game they have to get to the they got to get past the divisional is that it for him I see I think if the Jets don’t make the playoffs solah could be gone like I think just the all of the you talk about pressure you talk about expectations I mean the defense I think will still be good and that’s going to be his bread and butter but if this Aaron Rogers things falls apart oh boy like everyone’s going Joe Douglas is going Robert salah’s going oh yeah that’s it do you think so herna question uh uh I don’t know I mean you win three championships in the UFL take it does he want to coach in the NFL I feel like he would well the college football’s changing um the transfer portal I think that makes it a little tricky for older coaches but I’d say he feels like more of a fit for college but hard to argue with the success all right so can we narrow it down but to because Dennis Allen 100% is on like he’s not talked about as much because he doesn’t have like the high-profile name but yeah I mean he they got they have to turn it around I would not have been surprised if they let him go last year so I think bring in Derek Carr you expect him to be competitive yeah win some playoff games it’s true is true I think it’s either McCarthy or Salah has to be like up the tippy top I think it’s Salah because it’s like dude the amount I don’t think there is a single coach that there’s more pressure on than Salah right now in the NFL yeah like they have to make the playoffs which I think is very attainable I think here’s a kind of an X Factor with Salah right true um it’s Joe Douglas you like I think his job’s in Jeopardy too absolutely Dallas the GMS are just the Jones family right yeah is Jerry Jones kid officially the GM there I agree Jerry Jones still the GM make it hot Jerry Jones the owner president and general manager of the C all those titles Jerry Jerry Jones I’m also quarterb now [ __ ] Peterson is yes because I said that you know if they don’t do well again this year then it’s going to be starting to look at coaching personnel and being like oo I don’t know if they got everyone there especially with Trevor Lords getting extension everything like that yeah they’re gonna be taking a look at uh some coaching changes and then dable man D’s in a tough spot because I don’t think the Giants are gonna be great this year no and it’s if Daniel Jones like if he plays like he did in 2022 then maybe there’s something there maybe Daniel Jones’s job right it’s more more in Jeopardy than Brian dable like if you’re the Giants and I think you should keep rolling with Brian DAV it’s like okay we move on from Daniel Jones maybe we find a better fit at quarterback for da yeah but when you’re think when you’re making those when you’re having those thoughts you’re like why don’t we just start completely fresh yeah no I get you I got you I would be really surprised if Brian dable got fired I think there’s pressure there but if he gets to pick his QB like you know like going in like maybe I get you yeah no I get you but like Mike mcarthy I think Jerry Jones genuinely likes Mike McCarthy I think they have a good working relationship McCarthy understands how to work with Jerry Jones I think that makes him safer than Robert Salah the Jets like if things go poorly this year you’re looking at Joe Douglas like he brought in Rogers he made all these moves Saul is like a decent head coach but that’s only because he has the defense clicking every year yeah his lack of understanding of what how the other side of the ball kind of functions has been his his like the the biggest critique of how he he coaches and I think he’s talked about making a more concerted effort of trying to be more involved on that side so he can be a better head coach um like to me Salah seems like a guy you need to give time but a lot of it depends on he needs to have the right offensive coordinator yeah you need a lot of things which which Nathaniel hack it yeah exactly something that happens to Rogers you certainly don’t have the right guy yeah exactly but we did it we got hemorrhoids hot I like I think that’s actually was a very our most accurate list right it was a pretty productive episode yeah I’m proud of us look at us go I think we’re starting to itch
