so early this morning we got some news out of Green Bay the Packers have named their next chairman president and CEO recently they’ve had you know they’ve been searching for who was going to replace Mark Murphy who is nearing 70 years old which is the limit for being the Packers president and per packers.com earlier this morning they have decided on who is going to replace him and it is Ed policy and they say here Edward R policy the Green Bay Packers Chief Operating Officer in general counsil has been elected as the organization’s next ch chairman of the board president and CEO a position he will formally assume in July of 2025 at the Packers annual meeting of shareholders when Mark Murphy officially retires from that role policy who’s entering his 13th year overall with the organization and seventh as Chief Operating Officer was elected by the Packers board of directors as a franchise’s 11th chief executive officer Monday morning in a unanimous vote upon recommendation of the search committee led by chair Susan FCO and vice chair Dan arens so apparently reading this article the Packers interviewed about 90 different prospects to for this role and I think it’s a wise move to bring in and Elevate someone from within the organization that has been here for about 12 years in Green Bay because if you were to bring in someone from the outside it could work but I would just be a little worried that they would come in and try to maybe change the way the Packers operate and so I like that they’re bringing in someone who has experience here in Green Bay knows how the Packers like to operate has been you know operating here under Mark Murphy for a while and so um I think it’s a wise move to bring in someone from within and let me read here a quote from policy on uh assuming this role he says that he says this this is the absolute best job in sports we are the stewards of the most iconic and unique organization in all of professional sports I’m excited to continue to work with so many talented teammates who have ensured the Packers consistent success on and off the field we are the people’s team and I love a part of it we will continue our Relentless focus on building a winning culture that transcends the playing field the Lombardi trophy will always be our North Star and ensuring a positive impact on our community will continue to be paramounts in our decision-making we have the greatest fans in sports and will never take their commitment to the Packers for granted 12 years ago my wife Christy and I moved to Green Bay from New York City with our two sons we embrac this community and it embraced us back even stronger we love raising our family here this is home and so going forward um I’m curious to see you know sort of how he operates in in this role for the Packers and I feel like you know lots of times we don’t hear much about what the president is doing like Mark Murphy from time to time during the Aaron roders Saga we would get some more insights into what he was thinking and he was pretty honest um sometimes about you know Aaron Rogers back in the past and so I honestly don’t know too much about policy or sort of how he likes to operate I’m hoping to you know learn some more as we go forward in the future and you know the president of course has the ability to hire and fire people and I was just reading earlier this morning that I had forgotten about this but about four years ago in February 2019 the Packers changed the way that the organizational framework you know worked basically to where instead of the coach having to report to the GM like Matt L FL reporting to Brian gakin both the general manager and head coach would both be reporting to the president which would be Mark Murphy and this is from a from a article from Green Bay press cazette by Richard Ryman back in 2019 it says this Mark Murphy’s decision to up in 25 years of Green Bay Packers management structure vexed many fans but the team’s president and CEO is satisfied with the results so far fans are of two minds about Murphy’s decision to get more involved in football by making the general manager and head coach equal and having both report to him instead of the coach to the GM one side insists Murphy spent too much time overseeing title Town District development in Lambo field expansion while ignoring football the other is adamant he would stay out of football operations and focus on business and so I guess that I’m pretty sure this is still in effect uh I believe which would mean that Brian gakin and lefur would both by themselves report to policy now I would I assume at this point and so I don’t know how involved policy is when it comes to you know football type decisions I would assume not very much you’d think you want Brian gkin to be you know the guy in charge um so we’ll sort of see if any kind of of way the Packers operate shifts moving to a new president next season in July 2025 and we’ll sort of keep an eye on if if anything switches up around there but that is the most recent Packers news you want more NFL content I have a second Channel I’ll link a recent video I made on Aaron Rogers here you 1. Man, I’m definitely gonna miss Mark Murphy. Such a well spoken man who ran this organization, the right way for a long time.

  2. Maybe the son of one of the biggest 49ers legends, Carmen Policy, can help the Packers get past the 49ers again and get back to the Super Bowl!!

  3. Great choice. He's related to former 49er's Executive Carmen Policy, so they'll continue to have someone in charge who is close to the game.

  4. Your faith is awesome I can see the spirit behind your motives I’m on my girls phone but you’ve inspired me in a couple ways just said a lil prayer for you stay cool dude

  5. The Green Bay Packers on Monday named long-term executive Ed Policy as the organization’s next president and chief executive officer. Policy will succeed Mark Murphy, who has been in the role since 2007. Policy is entering his 13th year with the Packers, and his 7th as chief operating officer. He will be the 11th CEO in team history. Mark Murphy and policy will work together during a transition period until July 2025 when Mark Murphy retires. In a statement, Mark Murphy congratulated Policy, saying that he’s been a “tremendous asset” to the Green Bay Packers organization and has been “greatly instrumental to our success”. He said that policy was heavily involved in the development of Titletown District. In the last 12 NFL seasons with our team, Policy directed the organization’s legal affairs and represented the team at the NFL level, according to the Green Bay Packers. He also led the franchise’s effort to redevelop the Titletown District, a 45-acre mixed-use development of just west of Lambeau Field, and helped spearhead a venture capital partnership with Microsoft, the team said. In a statement, Policy said that he was honored and grateful to become the Packers next CEO, calling it “the absolute best in sports.” While the leadership will change, Policy said that the team’s goals will remain the same: win another Lombardi Trophy and have a positive impact on the community. Policy was selected out of a list of 90 prospects. The search committee interviewed candidates in June before making its recommendation to the team’s board of directors. He will replace Mark Murphy, who led the organization during the transition from quarterbacks Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers. He was also the team’s top official when the Green Bay Packers won Super Bowl 45. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛

  6. I think you're totally wrong about being a good idea staying within the organization . They did that during the abysmal '70s & '80s. Then they brought in new blood – Bob Harlen, who turned things around. Even though the Packers are going in the right direction now, by staying with the status quo, things will soon get stale. The Packers need to stay fresh, keep with the inevitable upcoming trends , and stay ahead of the game. I hope Policy will succeed, but I'm not sure the same old same old is the way to go.

  7. I hope he makes winning an SB a top priority again. Cause losing the NFC championship, being the standard, hasn't been working for me.

  8. I think it should be 70 across-the-board unless you own your own company Congress Senate presidency any public job in especially the Supreme Court

  9. Great promotion provides continuity. If he does well we won't have to worry about this again for 17 years 😁 Thanks Luke! GO PACK GO!
