bit I mean the driver and [Applause] actually that’s tugg just a little left needs to hang in there so really just runs downhill and right to left over that Ridge it’s got to go just enough now you have the P going back up the hill around nicely with that five under 65 here’s his birdie putt at two Frank didn’t take him long Steve of the day yeah good one bro like a middle or sure good swing pro was the reaction from Ted Scott does that a lot 124 for Scotty so a full one this gap wedge was called for it’s got to go just a [Applause] little well for Signature Events his win rate this year [Applause] is we might just be up in that to 50 by week exactly easily cover that bunker along the right 302 yds on the carry didn’t have to go too much pretty good iron shot H you can’t fake it around here he did not fake it at all today another birdie puty four oh so just like there it was bir at two three and four how many times have we said it Billy when this guy strikes an iron right at flag High you know that was a little bit off fouret left to right over this little Ripple in the middle of the green so throw it out to the left it’s so hard to get all the way high enough no problems you are in all of trouble looks like a wheat field out [Applause] there so you’re going to see a lot of people steer down that left side this year clattered off that big hardwood over there and looked like it dropped straight down into the rough and a little bit of a thick line as well John there’s that cross bunker he’s got to avoid at 170 so should be taking it towards the left bunker at about 200 and that is an unforced error God oh no completely bubbled over for world number [Applause] one kind of skimmed off the grass face of the bunker went straight up into the air okay that’s going to spin watch there Oh Billy I thought he was going to hold it for five after all of that drama yeah I almost said that then you go to Colonial then you go to Canada then you hit memorial memorial is right before the US Open signature event now on the back end of a US Open you have another signature event [Applause] leaks into the right hand R good news flag at the back he’s just going to plop it just over that bunker let it release and that will release from that lie watch this one Scamper up there this is so well judged get up on top there there you go [Music] trying to keep his wits about him here on this three and a half footer keep it at two under oh be good right at it he Scotty number tough flag to get to at the eth today uphill slightly right to left don’t think he outside the hle I just over read it literally and figuratively from his man Joe grinder I mean you look at both these players and their guys Joe grinder and Teddy Scott and at 382 you’re just trying to get it to the corner you’re going to you’re going to have a wedge in hander got to go on yardage book and visual and just try and hit the shot not much room over the top of that Ridge just about 10 ft guess what flag high it’s called reading the room a little baffled by that one though so that’ll be 33 to wonder through the opening half of the day pretty gorgeous as [Applause] well all right both players able to just want to take away this right side just runs off especially past pin High excellent short halfway there so I would say probably it’s a good look though 16 ft know the birdies have dried up since that uh Spurt of three in a row starting at the second earlier in the round gave one back at six and then a string of pars four straight since that point for shefer who remains at minus two another one way up in the air just hangs Forever on this downhill shot that’s a little further right yeah absolutely didn’t like it when it came off the club [Applause] face and this putt from 26 ft maybe a little careful with it going in this direction another one just like Max is on the L wasn’t it just a little lack of focus okay safely in for par off to 12 they go here we go Max that’s one down the left hand side as well o nice little last top right there Swan that was important so you would expect this to be a little deep into the green for Scotty take that falloff short out of play but Nott down there PES a pin High great shot and to get it to stop to a spot he could make this left or right yeah I would say very limited Sheffer stays at modest two through a dozen holes coming back to TPC River Highlands in a moment by today’s standards a very very short par five that looks like it’s heading a little left okay going to be just fine there short par five but one that you got to put it in play little side door action for Scotty here’s that second that asked him about a 13 he driving around the golf course I actually saw this shot where that flag is yeah great shot Ted Scott that was a great CH how many times has Ted Scott said that in the last couple years here and the world’s number one player Scotty shepher played this morning eagle play at the 13th Fresh Off The Eagle that’s a an aggressive play down there as well and that one there is oh there we go we’ve got it all the way to the end of the Fairway Gary wow what a t- shot for Chef would be surprised to knock this within 5T got to go just a little bit okay eight ft very nice well he learned back at 13 for the eagle putt after hom gave him the read and he learned here as well good student would here John looks like a driving iron to me Gary yeah so there’s a there’s a down slope about 30 yards short of this green you can catch that and run it just short that’s exactly what he’s done that’s a really good leave there so nice UPS slope fairly simple chip here oh no stay there it’s another as a runoff just a few feet beyond that so shler remains one back at 5 under 57 what he can fit in here not a big fan yeah it’s going to stay on the surface right on that front edge but that was just little backed off I heard that sheffler but not pleased with the strike gets away with it though and on the putting surface yeah I agressive second and third thirds and there it really starts to pick up pace yeah that was that was awkward from the start there had a lot of slope too from left to right that he had to well get their attention quickly some work to do here though for Scotty good catch boy no issues there for Scotty should be just a comfortable a time it should take back out the plate certainly did that good shot there’s no no what I’m saying is that’s why they didn’t make it two balls all the way through yeah would say that they’re probably going to do two singles um because of the time difference but let me yeah but let I I’ll double check that Gary’s in a ruling thing right now in the in the office so no we’ll we’ll stay away from it Deuce but if you get I’ll I’ll have it here within a minute light the candle the candle was lit there so that takes that bunk out play short B very good play there from Scotty [Applause] so little puffer sand came up underneath that ball got to go just a [Applause] little it did just enough to cover the goes a little further uphill so I think it’s one that’s tough to get all the way to the Hulk yep good call Gary dried up a couple feet short so it’s going to be 65 for Scotty and all in all a solid day’s work for world number one birthday boy Scotty sheffler turns 28 today and trying to start things off with a birdie tough as all the golf course today sheffler wedge into the [Applause] second like it might have been a little right of where he wanted it but it’s in the bottom now so one under early for world number one one Sheffer for backto back birdies oh wow how did that miss that looked like it was in and just fell to the right at the very end toughest hole in the golf course today the fourth it sounded up and out of it over to the right and it’s going to fall off into a little collection area but to me that’s a better Miss than the one of Max hom he’s got some green to work with he’s pitching up the hill so and at number four 16 ft left to rer little double breaker oh how’s that on Sheffer looking for a long par save here at four as well but can’t convert as H did so birdie at two and the give back [Applause] here we backwards leaking a little bit right and we’ll slip onto the putting surface took the high line and the pace was ideal certainly was that’s a great [Applause] lag nice [Applause] shot on the same line with a little more heat behind it that could be good well somebody wanted a buttery cut they just got a buttery cut [Applause] well nice recovery from yesterday where things kind of fell apart here and he made six it was the only slip up of the day on Thursday 2:00 Eastern time now bot Good Start down the seven take all we can get so max is left of the green here at seven Here Comes Sheffer from [Music] 164 they may be saying that a lot that’s right at [Applause] it can’t play the hole any better than that it’s par for Sheffer back at seven [Applause] that’s where you’re kind of looking and if it drifts right fine in that area right there uh they’re play they’re playing lift clean in place in anticipation of the weather that may or may not come in but all of a sudden you give these guys greens this good and the ability to put the ball in their hand you have a dry golf ball you can do whatever you want to with it right down the walk path perfect [Music] [Applause] line you good champ same thing nice save there scoring Club in hand Billy for Sheffer here at nine looking at [Music] [Applause] [Applause] [Music] it well that was a good effort he’s one of the few that have actually gotten it to the hole I think he’s a little disappointed because the iron shot from the Fairway was directly online with [Applause] flag right on the right side of that tree kind of like that [Applause] wow did he have a read on it though Billy how about it that was that was definitely tracking baby getting a few happy birthday well wishes from the gallery turn 28 today had a beat on that one beautiful putt but just refused to go down doesn’t fire at a flag stick unless he is 100% confident [Music] [Applause] a little aggravated H able to capitalize and make two just a par for Sheffer here at the short little 11 that looks healthy have a day Scott Happy Birthday Scot [Music] [Applause] if that’s the case too Scotty won the first US Open and had the memorial had to remain at 7 under okay what a drive from the this one’s beautiful got just shaped it right into the middle of the Fairway really well done he’ll be able to go for this screen easy CU you got to pick your poison if you’re in between this is a four iron back into the wind they don’t want to get it too far past that hole he’s trying to shape that in from right to left eliminating the water short left Max has got a really slow into the grain putt actually pretty well done and a kind of a safe play with that putter gets it done just keeps that’s smashed at the perfect height oh it’s Off to the Races too Gary boy he hit the same shot yesterday didn’t he that low Runner excellent shot keeps drifting away on him do that dude [Music] Shi yeah you see from Co in your stocking to a birdie all on your birthday there’s your birthday present he’s got that shot go go boy this looks pretty good this is a push-up green so it just repels balls that don’t quite get on top I’ll be interested to see if he goes Leading Edge here Frank or uses the bounce a little more up that steep slope he handled it pretty well furick was 11 under off to 12 sheffler now for his birdie continues like Aaron said just plotting along making birdies that’s three in a [Applause] row that’s an eight iron on the way pretty good line play my man we got a 16 and a birdie Johns not to be for Scotty he just hovers hovers and hovers and you don’t even realize he’s around and look at him on the 17th T here with less than driver I would anticipate not going to be getting a lot of roll in the Fairway especially from this elevated te and there you go it’s kind of [Applause] yeah okay good shot underneath the hole that’ll have a little break from right to left a little Bobble there about 3 or 4 feet off the p and it just kind of took all the speed out of it says Jeffer will remain 10 under as he heads to the 18th Shane Lowry nice t- shot right there from Scotty go go get up oh what a shot is he in tune with his yardage yeah nice birdie there good finish for Scotty sheffler [Music] started down the left side K back nicely even [Applause] longer on a slight UPS slope too Frank so this is going to get up in the air a little bit didn’t like it now just kind of eh and that’s got his best there and he’s right back gaining Strokes again with the putter seems like it makes no sense doesn’t it saw him Tuesday in a practice round last week he had never seen Piner before never as an Amer never was a fan playing it until he arrived on Monday after winning at the memorial so that one Scotty sheffler’s second shot from a hanging lie trying to turn it into this left flag needed one more yard he’s not going to be really real happy with that he’s everybody’s been missing this putt out to the right see if Scotty can get it right yes he can what a good looking putty Str that was Scotty sheffler fresh off that birdie at the second it’s the nine iron just a puff of Breeze back into his [Applause] face maybe just a slight tweener there Frank yeah he’s too much that just got a little bit into that Ridge too another foot or so it might left to right the entire way got a good teach from O’s part never quite high enough Scotty will remain one back [Applause] trying to avoid that Fairway bunker up the left at 305 should miss it yeah maybe a bit jumpy you are the Line Stay left of this whole location from this rough get right of [Music] it good call Smiley a little bit of a jumper there that that’s going to be okay though if you get right at that ho location there’s a from this Fairway cut only the third green he’s missed it’s a double breaker too should start going right to left right here that’ll be a ticklish one got a little bit of a downhiller left eases it in there so he makes his far after driving it in the left rough when he shot his 59 in 2020 he had yet to win on tour Smiley that’s the best shot all day here go there was a beautiful shape of shot and he maintained the lead but he wasn’t the only one celebrating yesterday Scotty shuer had a birthday as well on Friday and that’s today Scotty pouring in an early birdie loaded ready to go Sheffer the par five col noost with this group that from 277 back into the wind he’s lost this one a little right Frank that’s not a bad Miss at all there Frank he’s going to have a lot of green to work with 2020 up in New England too at the TPC Boston this is at the sixth his third and Frank I asked him how many time he’s broken 60 he said five or six go that’s really annoying you don’t know exactly how many times has made two putts of over 20 ft so far today oh but that one stings Frank that’s eight iron from 163 fading really solid shot Kim turned 22 yesterday Sheffer turned 28 yesterday this to tie the lead [Applause] [Music] my back to back holes where he’s just kissed the [Applause] edge that’s five iron on the way for Scotty flat flight he didn’t have to worry about the win there beautiful shot and from just on the other side this to tie the lead for Scotty and he too center cut looking for his sixth victory Of The Year the cup has been very kind to Xander remember the lip in at the 7 second here’s Scotty trying to cut that corner a little bit just a fairway wood should be perfect Jim this is Dome Golf out here right now these players are going to be attacking every [Applause] [Music] shot y I can just see Frank smiling as this ring comes down as long as it’s on you colle players are dry that’s all we want 32 out Scotty has hit a low bullet here up the left side not sure if that’s going to catch the Fairway or run through that R I know we talk a lot about his feet moving all over the place surprise surprise this is on a really good line he respected that flag to run out it’s all right SC shiff doesn’t intimidate Tom Kim as much as he used to good fall for sh back with Scotty at the 11th the par three plays a little more than a club down the hill and this is wedge this looks like it has a lot of spin on it solid strike down the hill still using the putter even though he’s just in that that second cut and Ian that’s just his fourth Miss green of the week no surprise he’s leading the field that statistic yeah well he leads the field in yeah didn’t control the spin with the wedge put from off the front of the green bobbled on him left himself four or five ft up the hill and the stroke looked pretty good I the wind stting to blow back into their face pretty good but this is stri Dri he’s going to push it all the way to toward the end of the Fairway that’s a nice aggressive play there he’ll just have something short lift has just 129 left going to give it a little bump with a nineiron okay trying to take the spinoff it’s fading right towards it oh yeah is it ever that’s how you’re supposed to play it after a lot of rain and Scotti for birdie really good look moving to his left he just thought for sure he’d make it two holes in a row hit the edge wants to just start it at those bunkers and Let It Bleed to the right Frank this one looks to be on a pretty good line so new drone follow excellent technology shows a lovely save by sh going with that bulky 3 with the graphite shaft can launch it way up in the air Frank oh that is a chance for second Eagle hit May three here on this one shouldn’t have a lot of movement into it just all about the speed but what a great short part five this is especially if you make three three edges in a row now just up ahead easiest of fours but it was so close to a three top right he tried to save that one this is headed right hit the path too I actually did take the trip up there it’s not good just coming out sideways yeah get it back in play trying up and down with the sandwich you got that might be blocked out by the tree overhanging he’s still got to bend this one a little right to left oh caught it well there could have been a lot worse left right and as it comes across the top there just short it goes right left and then comes back was not an easy putt it’ll be a bogey for Scotty Sheffer tap in for the bogey for Scotty Sheffer Damage Done from the T also going with three-wood should be a pretty good number for him needs to change the momentum but this one’s hanging the problem is once it get on the green it run straight away from him needs a good soft second bounds gosh it just hit the brakes on him that was so close Scotty for birdie and gets back the shot that he dropped at the previous hole got plenty of Club o High baby well this is fading just a hair left of it oh it’s good go really good this was just a minute ago Sheffer to try and get it within two here [Music] bang he’s not going away that’s his three iron and this one looks good 155 ball speed about your driver speed Co this one on a great line if it’s enough it’s enough just enough about 5T left for Sheffer for another bir right in the heart and Sheffer moves to two back of Tom Kim this one is just right of it should be good yeah just absolutely smoked only missed two Fairways today shef also pitch and wedge 133 d one in here Trevor guess where this one’s going right at it at it turn turn one inch since that bogey at 14 he has been on fire got his approach shots in seven Scotty so this will guarantee final grouping right you got to see what hot Shay does [Applause] okay I know this is going to surprise you Swan but he’s found another Fairway that was laced back into the wi got to carry this deep that’s [Applause] pulled one time [Applause] ooh look good for a long [Applause] time now it hugged its line but just stayed outside the cup kind of sounds familiar doesn’t it B hopefully tack on one more it’s going to sit down yeah just a little Rich I’m going to say that’s okay everything’s okay it’s a par for Sheffer stays at 17 there’s four of them tied less is [Music] more that is for the bunker maybe left of it over there very close that four 5T lip but 119 got it straight up good shot I got it before the win I did to Let’s Get Right Out to the action at the third with Scotty Sheffer and Aaron overholser is down [Applause] there all pars thus far almost made one there how does this not go in Steve moved up te times and also instead of playing in pairs they’re playing in threes off of one t not split T’s [Applause] today no this isn’t scratchy here 280 or so over bunker down the right side he carries all of that with ease big swing Aaron that was a big swing oh watch that false side potential for a two- shot swing here depending on Tom [Applause] Kim okay good stroke cutting well again after having a rough week with the putter at the US Open struggled reading those greens at Piner number two this week back to good form with that putter [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay back to five the other two guys missed Aaron Scotty now Fantastic [Music] [Applause] look this one starts down that left hand side kind of staying [Music] [Applause] there he’s going to like it in the Fairway gets a little bit of tumble 177 ball speed on that one full three-wood and he’s kept this right which is the right Miss kind of a high lob you think ah medium trajectory went [Applause] came out tumbling a little bit but pretty darn good out of that [Applause] lie okay that maybe gets him started right there up this one going a [Music] little get a PE that’s fine it’s not turning back still very good but half the distance of Tom km yep world’s number one is now sitting in the top spot alongside Tom Kim at 19 under par look out for Scotty seven trying to shape it a little bit left to right that had to be a mish hit definely [Music] yeah two putt that UT further right makes it more of a dog leg this one’s kind of pulled a little bit I don’t think he likes this at all it’s going to be all right I believe Frank got the soft bouns got lucky going for the breeze off the right in the let that wind bring it in there oh boy I tell you what I think they’re getting a little more help here than they think yeah that was the discussion early on they didn’t know with a wedge downhill right to left cook do you like that camera angle it was awfully good good camera work paa has a lengthy par save here at the ninth Sheffer is already in with his four so Scotty could be leading all by himself making the turn I like the angle all the way on the left [Music] side and a pretty good dot thrown in there by Scotty shler talked to Randy Smith this morning and he said the difference from last week when he did tie for 4 first to this week is simply right here he’s reading the putts better better feel on the greens yeah I think the speed of the green is better for him bit more what he’s used to 12 and 1 half on the S this week now Scotty tied up clean up for his par remain at 19 under one of those wins was in fact the Arnold Palmer Invitational three beauties five tied for the lead right now on the back nine on Sunday doesn’t get much better than that oh no go that talk about living dangerously just trying to hang on to the edge just three aggressive shots world number one it’s time to put your foot on the gas maybe he reacted too strongly to Kim’s peeling off so low an over borrow for Scotty and a par little bit of a fairway finder but he’s got an extra gear we know how long he can hit it and how straight he can hit [Applause] it lower te lower flight that’s fine he stuffed it here on Thursday in the opening round with three-wood same Club I think he likes this old D he’s played it four under look at that [Applause] back the 13 quickly in for his four and Tony in trouble at 16 so momentarily they are tied so this is a shot he doesn’t feel all that comfortable with that was Mega low and got a big amount of roll too get away with it wow that’s a long way down there that’s down there where Patrick kley was down over about 340 or so we’ll see flag laying pretty limp but you can feel it up here with spin great shot from Scotty shevock inside 4T to go 21 under I think he’s trying to be less perfect get good putts but they don’t have to be perfect to go in it was Rory that suggested he go to this pter he might be ruin that advice got to give full Kenyon a shout out he has done some brilliant work with Scotty nearly had an ace here earlier by Ricky Fowler yeah he hit it to 10 [Music] in will this one stay on it is going to and it is on the top shelf just like that shot just like the shot into 14 and 13 for that matter since Bennett was born how’s my memory is it Thursday or Saturday that was Thursday Thursday there you go you got the we weak right though yeah that’s a good start needs to get the speed right and he hasn’t last year Keegan Bradley end up setting the tournament scoring record and now these guys are within range of that Che 22 under it certainly has his attention oh what over the top one more roll just one more roll he just left that door wide open something that gets over that front left bunker there middle of the faway right around 240 [Music] that’ll do it flew at [Applause] 254 didn’t spin back as much as he’d hoped with that down Breeze at least the two shot Advantage going to 18 and that would be lights out there’s some late turn to it m one of the late groups that we were following Scotty thought he had pretty much wrapped it up right there just wobbled a little left halfway didn’t it yeah it was trying very good pu and he gave it the respect having seen Toms so he’ll head to the last at least one in front [Applause] came from behind in three of his five wins so far this season from behind Victory the others from in front oh that could have fallen in with the gust of wind as well I’m not sure AUST didn’t help keep that out in he thought he had it doy that’s for sure by the reaction 275 on that line to cover into the Fairway downwind he’s got big downwind [Music] [Applause] yeah finds the up slope and an angle well done gap wedge 128 front 147 [Applause] [Music] total uhoh right there’s a little room there [Applause] yeah now a birdie chance for Scotty at the 18th a moment AG go to take down the title oh again I mean the last three putts he hit on the last three holes were within an inch of going in dead on line it’s turning boy that was close Tom Kim will have a chance to send this back to 18t [Applause] trekking right in there see here it starts to work towards and then runs out of speed right at the end hit a lot of good putts on this second side but didn’t go in Bo he had the arm extended ready to raise [Music] [Applause] it he likes this one too don’t but with the three-wood he’s going to be hitting first second Shot 14 t- shot of 15 t- shot of 16 second shot of 17 like to get it closer than 18 the first go round is that any good hit right next to the hole for win number six [Music] good [Applause] enough Scotty sheffler comes out of the chaos in Connecticut with another tournament title ladies and gentlemen how a hand for hand a winning score of 22 under 258 his six
