[Applause] please welcome the next competitors from Canada Vienna Stan du Maxim Desa they have the skate of their lives in the short last night they smashed their season’s best score by more than five points they’ll need another skate like that now if they want to take the world title remember they have a four-point lead on the reigning world champions from Japan but the Japanese team’s free program has a higher base [Music] Value World title on the line you know you need to skate your best and you need to be in the best mental state to do it opening with a huge triple [Applause] [Music] twist their big combination a little less big they opt for triple toe single axle double axle they hope to make up in gr of execution what they lose in base value triple toe single [Music] axle and a stumble out of the double axle Diana didn’t carry speed from the single into the double and now you have to think Kurt they have to go Flawless not to add more tension but Max had trouble with this next jump in the warm-up side by side Triple S [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] have you said your goodbyes to [Music] Delight they do the very unique forward outside death barel hoping to pick up some points ahead of the other teams that’s a very difficult death barel with your Vampire eyes and they also got a great gr of execution out of it as well [Music] 1.02 skating to interview with a vampire creating [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] tension coming into their throws first throw triple saow [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] little bit of a shaky turn there for Max but he stayed focused and committed to finish the lift safely he could have given Deana his hand to grab for two arms and he didn’t he stayed [Music] committed need to [Music] breathe this is when all the training comes into play deep in the program when it counts last throw there it is last element last lift starlift Max has to keep his Focus here until the end beautiful position the last world champions for Canada Megan to Hamill Eric rodford 2016 and then again in 2017 will Deanna steta dudak and Max Stam be the next it wasn’t the best we’ve seen them skate but it was still a great Great Skate and that’s something I always tell the skaters it doesn’t need to be perfect it just needs to be great and it was the kind of skate that brought everyone along with them the little tiny mistakes were gutted out and it sort of almost added to the grit of the interview of the vampire program and the tension that was riding along with it but they did not shut the door on the Japanese it did not there was a few little bobles elated support team here’s a look back at the triple twist Perfect Clean Catch Diana comes out so confidently with the little flick of her left wrist she does doesn’t she look at me I’m here to shine triple toe we saw a bit of hesitation there before she stepped for that double I think she got what we call in the skating around the corner too far and the right shoulder took over on that axle but they didn’t let it get to [Music] them here’s the Ford outside Des bar that Megan was telling you all about worth more points I think it’s worth base value of seven isn’t it and so every little bit helps keeping that right hand off the ice fighting for every single bit that little crumb of goe added to the base value and right at the end of the program with the throw trouble Loop digging deep in her knee but not letting that free leg touch down I think it did you think so I think it barely touched it didn’t support her weight but it did touch and those are interesting moments at the end where Max feels that Elation and Deanna’s got all those really minor things is it enough is it enough right now the Germans sit in first first place but remember the Canadians did have a fivepoint edge on the Germans heading into the free skape there’s a look at the teams right now that sit first second third and second place the hungarians the scor season’s best score [Applause] 14408 judges say that’s the best free program that we’ve seen so far with one team to go so the Canadians will be in the lead they will finish on the podium they can finish now no lower than in second place 14408 points their total to move ahead of the Canadians uh this team needs a score of a little more than 148 points and wow all the can do is wait for these scores to come in here they [Music] come and it’s not enough about fourpoint shy of what they need and there to the left your new world champion Deana St dudak and Maxim Desa and at 40 de becomes the oldest world champion in any discipline and for Max well a decade of searching for the right partner and he finally found his match Indiana what a moment for these two skaters

  1. It was a beautiful programme, the commentators could only discuss points, faults and an obsessive-compulslive focus on failures. Why not celebrate these beautiful skaters?

  2. loved this perfomance- but, also really like the way the announcers 'called' this perfomance

  3. I love watching skaters perform! Loved their routine – the move at 3:00 was my favourite. I don't know what it's called but they fit together SO BEAUTIFULLY spinning around. Proud of my fellow Canadians!! 🍁

  4. I am so incredibly grateful that Deanna Stellato-Dudek has chosen to skate for Canada!! she and Maxime Deschamps are an incredible pair

  5. They are so amazing to watch and her being 40, is giving an example of long youth when somenone really wants and haa a passion like she does

  6. Well deserved, stop with the ageism people who are 40 are the new 20 year olds unlike our parents 40's ….im so happy for them

  7. This video forever marred by the live commentary from the 3 commentators from CBC. Just awful and annoying

Please learn from this and refrain from talking in the future during the performance. We can listen to your commentary after the performance

  8. Wow both of them are really really good they deserve the gold titles . I watch their performance over and over I am now their fan
