so a common question I get asked is do I really need a range funner and can it help my game well in this video I want to briefly show you why I use a range fer how I think it can help your game how they work and if you stick around I’ll even show you that you don’t need to remortgage your house that they can actually be very affordable so what is a golf range funner and how do they work well they work by emitting a laser from the device to whatever Target you aim at so on a golf course it’s usually the flag you simply have to press the button on the top and aim it at the flag I’m using the go go go zero in laser range oneel which is really good and affordable and it activates the laser when I press the button along the top the laser then bounces off the flag and returns to the device which calculates how far the distance is even in yards or meters now in some devices if the flag is higher or lower than where you’re standing they also calculate the slope angle and provide an adjusted distance on this device they have a really easy switch to turn it on and off which is important because you have to turn it off when you’re playing in the competition because it a legal under the rules of golf I would always recommend that you get slope in a rangefinder if you’re looking to buy one it can really help your game so just having a quick look through the scope it said it’s 99.2 y to the flag and with slope adjusted just one degree it’s 97.1 so actually that’s going to make very little difference for my for my Club selection today but if I had like a 20 yard drop it could be up to one or two clubs for some golfers so that’s where slope can become really uh really useful right let me see if I can hit a green [Music] [Music] see that so how can this help your game surely a GPS watch or a mobile app is just as good or you can go completely retro and use the 150 yard markers along the side of the Fairway well yes they can help and Order 100% recommend using a GPS watch I’ve got a shot scope V5 but if you’re looking for Reliable distances which are accurate every single time then you can’t get more reliable than a laser range finder this go go go zero wi uh is accurate up to one yard whereas GPS measurements depending on which satellite the GPS watch company are using they can be out by a few yards each time which over the course of 18 holes could mean additional shots on your game I find this more accurate than just front middle and back readings on my GPS watch and I really recommend it so if you’re thinking that a range funner could help your game but you’re worried about the price end don’t worry I’m here range funners don’t need to cost the Earth yes there are some that can cost up to $500 but I’ve also tested some amazing budget range funders like this one here and they’re just as good on the course I even tested one that costed $10 but I’ve linked below my range finder buying guide which which gives you access to the best deals and coupon codes and I’ll keep it updated that can help you save some money when you’re looking to buy a rangefinder so let me know what questions you have what would stop you from buying a rang finder and if you’re still not sure check out this video next and I’ll catch you in the next one
