[Music] well folks what a day at the memorial Adam hadwin lit up the course with an impressive 6 under 66 leading Master’s Champion Scotty sheffler by just one shot the Canadian performance certainly gives him hope that he’s turning a corner at just the right time hadwin was one of the few who tamed the tricky mfield Village which was softened by rain but still a beast to conquer he notched four birdies on the front nine and another four towards the end of his round unfortunately he missed a 5-ft par putt on the tough 18th but let’s be honest with so many birdies he can’t really complain sheffler and PGA Champion Xander schaa had their share of ups and downs sheffler started strong with two birdies in four holes but was tripped up by a clump of mud on the par five fifth leading to a bogey despite that he finished strong sticking an approach shot to a foot on the difficult 18th chaet fresh off his first major win at the PGA Championship found his game a bit Scrappy from te to Green thankfully his putter was on fire saving him from a rough day he ended up with a bogey free 68 keeping himself right in the mix Chul quipped about hitting the range to find more Fairways and greens but overall he was pleased his short game bailed him out Cory Connors Colin morawa and ludvick oberg matched shle with with 68s while defending Champion Victor hland finished with a solid 69 it’s a crucial time for hadwin and Connors both fresh from the Canadian open as the 60-man field for the Olympics will be finalized in Just 2 weeks each country can send two players or a maximum of four if they’re in the top 15 hadwin who hasn’t finished in the top 40 since March has seen his world ranking slip from number 44 to to number 59 Connors is holding steady at number 45 with Taylor pendrith and McKenzie Hughes close behind hadwin admitted he’s been playing his way out of a good position lately but he’s focused on getting back on track Sheffer meanwhile continues his impressive run with four wins this year including another Master’s title he had a tough break with a mud ball on the fifth hole but managed to salvage the round finishing strong on the 18th chaet had his own mud ball drama on the fifth sending his shot into a bunker and nearly into the water he somehow managed to save par with an 8-ft putt keeping his round bogey free only 25 players from the 73 man field managed to break par including Rory mroy who finished with a 70 after birding four of his last six holes well friends that’s the Scoop from the memorial don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and leave a like if you’re enjoying the coverage thanks for tuning in and be sure to catch the next update on your screen happy golfing
