and you see uh the stats of this hole it was the second easiest hole in 2016 and a good opportunity for players to make birdie however it is the longest hole on the golf course uh so we most likely be playing three shot full unless they move those t’s up Sunday where we saw Brooke uh have that eagle Putt and it is playing 543 yards 25 yards longer than any other hole and it is a dog leg to the left now players is fairly blind off the tea as well are really going to like Nelly ctis said have to hug that left side and play aggressively to get it around that dog leg and the tree that had been very much in a layup position on the right side has been removed so it’s a little bit more open but all those trees up the left are still blocking out the green and we you know make it a very strategically placed golf hole and also on the green that back Ridge is very uh it’s aggressive there is a lot of slopes um on the greens here at sahali and I really noticed on 11 that is a very sloped green especially in that back portion yeah not necessarily an easy par five even though it’s a squirel par five for the players but one of the other changes besides the tree getting removed on 11 is the 18th hole and you heard Stacy Lewis talking about it uh but it became a pivotal hole in 2016 I think it may also this year but going back to 2016 what we saw this was during regulation and Brook Henderson this is what she brook or what Stacy was alluding to you got to hook it around this corner you see the bunker on the left at the far top of your screen that’s the line well Brook Henderson didn’t hook it around the corner in regulation in fact she ended in the tree line which as you can see could be a big mess she had thankfully a shot from this position to at least leave it up short of the green but a really difficult driving hole that if you don’t find the Fairway leaves you in a very difficult spot so from there she had not an easy go of it this third shot now into the par four and this is to post a number because there’s still players behind her not totally sure what’s going to happen with the end of regulation she had made a huge charge on this Sunday so this is a par save to post okay so ultimately ends up now in a playoff with Lydia Co going back to the te again what’s the ideal position just up the left tree line if she can get a little draw around the corner even better and this time this time she Nails it up the left side of the Fairway and ultimately it was really that drive that led to the ability to hit a good approach shot into this right hole location and we know what happened here the shot of the tournament that again led to the birdie and helped her win this Championship well uh that 18th hole proved to be a challenge for the players you can see it is the third most difficult hole in the golf course in 2016 only 25 birdies on the week only five birdies on Sunday if that tells you how amazing it was that Brook Henderson birdied it in that playoff to win the championship but I agree with Stacy Lewis I think it was a little silly as part four so I was happy to hear Carrie heg and the PG of America talk about how they’re moving the tea back they’re playing it as a part five which is how the members play it and what that means is from the tea you don’t have to cut the corner no you’re just going to hit it straight up the Chute and then it will be your second shot that you’ll turn the corner and be able to try to advance It Up near the green but that’s not always easy because you can see again a tree on the left side that will be a problem if you don’t keep that layup on the right portion of the Fairway as you approach this in a three shot hole which will likely be the case unless uh they do have the ability to move the tea up play it more from where we saw it last time but played as a part five there so you might see a few Eagles a couple birdies uh it’ll be a I think a much more Dynamic finishing hole this year as a par five versus how it played last time as a par four
