happened already today here’s the overnight leader Lexi Thompson for birdie at the 14th got a beautiful role on that one very flowing follow through with that part looking very confident and Lexi will get it to six under with that this is Sarah schmelzel 30 year old playing in her sixth year on the LPGA Tour and having a very good day today that got her to five under with one hole to play Jin young Co for a birdie at the sixth and this is more what we’re expecting to see from jinyang co injury has prevented her from being in our eyes much but here she is at a major Jin Young making a move today that would get her to five under let’s check back in with Lexi Thompson this for a birdie at number six Lexi had had a double Bogey and a bogey already on the front line so that was important for her to get back to five under for the championship and this schmalzel on her final hole of the day this for an eagle on the 18th takes two good shots to get get close to this green it’s insanely tight with the two trees frame in this hole but what a magnificent shot this for birdie to get it to two over par it’s not too bad a spot to put from back uphill yeah nicely [Applause] done did oh nice way to do it 22y old from Osaka 11 wins on the jlpga tour where she is player who does that quite often by the looks of things he’s coming back too yeah let’s take another look no and you can you can see that these greens are firming up just a little bit but my goodness if it had hit the flag stick it might have might have dropped I mean it only was by a couple of millimeters and you can see she’s four over pass and we talked about that cut going between between three and four over we know that lyan needs to get this up and down she might just go ahead and hold it it’s going to be a three for Lydia four over has a good chance here’s another player from Japan who’s looking to try and make the Olympic team this is ey for a birdie running one down the green she won last week in Japan traveled chance to be three under for the day through four holes you see bout is longer the green again having to negotiate those shoulders that are off the bunkers this is some touch from bouier look at the extra roll out just a little bit of Breeze slightly hurting well struck this should be ideal this has a pretty good line trying to turn things around exactly what she needed it yeah and ab yuban who played so well at the US Women’s Open over the weekend just a few weeks ago in Pennsylvania just 151 yards today players can get this one close and this is a great example yeah it just seems to be on a golf course that is yielding Allison corus for a birdie at the seventh yes yeah so that gets last year’s US Women’s Open Champion to two under this is a totally different hole today playing as the second most difficult hole on this golf course almost a half stroke over par but my look making it look easy young Aussie Steph kyaku at the 18th a moment ago maybe okay [Applause] a little bit of a down slope there but lots of green to work with what a shot extremely tough shot at the back of this bunker no green to work with so good oh my gosh that was spectacular K what a shot Leona Maguire at the eighth this Hall is just an absolute R but from the very center of the Fairway looking for an eagle could it be not quite but that for only the third party of the day on this eighth hole what a shot to the ninth and Hannah Greening that was carrying a ton of pace but what a shot she was able to get it keep it on that high side up and over that bridge this is Amy Yang chipping for a birdie birdie at five she got that right yeah well done went back and talked to Old college coach uh Duke Dan Brooks he was saying yeah this is a moment ago Lauren hartage for a birdie she’s around that cut line safe at the moment wow even safer now second birdie of the round for Lauren only made one birdie yesterday yeah so important for these Japanese players Leona Maguire steadily working her way up the leaderboard this at 14 just about h on you for a birdie at seven did she get it spot on yes she did and this round continues to get better it’s quite steep there as well can come back towards the player Nelly needs to play last three holes in two under the last time she went without a birdieing around she missed the cut there too at Olympic Club 2021 she certainly positioned herself in a really nice spot putting uphill this is really makeable just the key here is to trust her line and make sure she gets it there oh no how many edges today K and that’s at least five well how many edges how many crazy bounces how many I mean it’s just like the gods are golfing gods are stacked and ganging up against her I don’t know why it’s like you think of the Heartbreak so early at the US Women’s Open and then this round today where everything seems to be going wrong all at the same time religious water about 5 ft away did you just it perfectly uhuh she did Lauren hartl this for birdie gives her and a share of seventh man this a little bit up the hill falling just a little bit to her left here she’s dominating the jlpga the last couple of years deep bunker but straightforward shot lots of green to work with oh it’s great but she needed Perfection that’s going to be her first birdie of the day there is an outside chance the cut could go to plus six as tough as this course is playing you wouldn’t count it out but 75 players at 5 over or better and Nelly Corda is going to have that to shoot 81 opportunity to make Eagle certainly provided enough excitement last time as well with Brook’s incredible birie in the playoff is it enough to get there yes just so well done she’s underp power for the day this is to shoot 69 oh yeah really nice very good bounce back after the 74 yesterday and Lindsay Weaver Wright is in the hunt nearly [Applause] perfect brilliant just spectacular bogey free and tied for the lead heading into the weekend like it’ll be Yang schmelzel and hanako shabono in the final group tomorrow Lexi Thompson Jin [Music] youngo yashita will play in that an ultimate group of three
