[Music] [Music] I guess it’s all kind of quiet most of the team’s gone home got a few few guys still here Sunday evening over the US Open just watched Rory miss that putt just watched Bryson make that partt or hit that bunker shot more importantly I guess just to see to see first round lead at five under and then to see the winning score be six under I guess puts into perspective how tough the course was playing uh kind of pissed for the most part everybody has been so supportive and you know you should be proud well done you know you made it there you only missed by one which is fair enough and I you know I do appreciate everyone’s support and kind words but still pisses me the off to be honest um not the messages but missing it missing the cut and not being not competing really um like the first round I was so like excited nervous like I was like the energy was flowing and I hit a couple of great shots down one left like a 15 footer like right in the heart like that made like a 15 foot powerart on the second and it was just like oh those that environment that’s just it’s the best feeling ever that’s where I want to be but apart from that part I didn’t really make anything in the first round you know I hit a lot of good iron shots drove it half decent gave myself a lot of good chances I mean I ped the first seven holes Mr short sort of six sixish foot r eight for bogy birdie 10 like I felt so good I was level path I mean the round was nice it was a nice round really I just didn’t get much out of it as far as you know holding puts um so overall shooting plus two on the first round was pretty wasn’t a bad score in round two I just never couldn’t quite get it going I scrambled really well like Birdie the first my first hole which was the 10th scrambled really well out there to try and keep it around par and then just hit a couple of loose shots with my driver couldn’t buy a fairway to be honest and uh hold rolled it a little bit better in the second round despite shooting high it’s just my my ball striking was not quite on it missed quite a few Fairways and then missed a couple of greens where you know I should have could have hit hit the green so I got a really really crappy break but it’s the US Open it’s at Pinehurst I get it but on five like I’ve rolled into the bunker on the par five green side gone for it in two rolled in the bunker and it’s the balls in a ridge with a bush directly in front of it I mean I I had zero I mean I said I looked to my mate my cad Ryan I said I’m just going to have to hit this as hard as I can and and I mean it actually came out great but obviously long and rolled down over the back but couple of tough breaks didn’t hit enough great shots and at pus number two you have to hit great shots just to hit the green you can’t get away of mediocre shots so I think that’s what made this week you know the challenge it was um but yeah pretty disappointed with my second round 74 four over when you look at some of the scores it doesn’t seem that bad but obviously you know in general or as a whole my two rounds weren’t good enough obviously so I really wasn’t thinking about the cut um cuz I didn’t really know I had no idea what it would be what it might be so I mean I I was just out there I mean I’ll be honest unlike a lot of golf courses this one doesn’t give you pinus doesn’t give you an opportunity to really think about other things because it’s so intense like you can’t miss and if you miss then you’re somewhere else and then you’ve got to hit a great shot again so it’s like every time you don’t hit a great shot you have to hit an even better shot so even when you hit a good shot in good shot in the Fairway you have to hit a very good shot in again and it’s you know when once you get out of position you miss some of the greens with some of those runoffs you then have to hit a even better shot to get back in position so I didn’t really have a chance to think about the cut line whilst I was out there it was only once I’d finished I tell a lie on number nine I didn’t know what my score was really but I did think if I can two put this I might have a chance at something you know or just make let’s just two put this it was like a 60 footer um and which I did so that was a positive that I was able to do that but that was probably the only time I thought about the cut was was on that last screen my it was the 9th H my 18th but I mean essentially I’ve missed the cut at the US Open by one shot and I’ve had my you know at times C game hit my irons quite well first round decent first round honestly and I guess I did what I did do is by missing the cut this week not that I needed any fire lighting but I was practicing on Saturday practice today and just some really good stuff out of the practice sessions themselves have like given me you know that Focus again that you know what I need to really hone in on to to be the best and it’s really not that far away everybody becomes mortal when you’re playing alongside them I guess which is always the main takeaway from tournaments like this which I played in two now um again it’s hard not to feel disappointed and it’s been such a great week with everybody everybody that’s made this week possible I’m so grateful for it it’s been amazing it’s just a little sour that’s all I guess yeah it’s just a bit of you know because it’s like you want to play in these every every year and it’s like nothing’s guaranteed and you know now my focus is I mean tomorrow I’m flying to France to play you know on the challenge tour where there’ll essentially be no one there watching um you go for you know from playing a $21 million purse to a$ 270,000 purse which yeah it’s just like you know that’s the journey that’s the grinding you know I’m still I’m still on the way up like it’s this isn’t normal for me yet as in week in week out it feels comfortable when I’m there like being here being on the range with everybody competing playing the same golf course as the best players in the world I mean it feels like I belong like I’m there I know I belong in that that environment like I I feel great in that environment I just have to make it there and that’s where the grind just continues the journey continues never stops when I get there it won’t stop either but it’s just like it’s like a taste it g it you know being here is like that taste that it’s like that Delicious Fruit you know that you don’t get to try every week cuz I’m playing on the challenge tour so um there’s so many positives and I’ll take the positives being once again confirmed I can compete on the big biggest stage and feel comfortable on the biggest stage yeah just knowing I belong I mean we’ll be back I know we’ll be back and like the winning score minus 6 I know it was tough over the weekend but like I know I know I can compete on that course with those with those guys with my aame I’m there for sure but here I am Sunday afternoon essentially just with a couple of guys left and it’s all pretty quiet you know the hype’s gone back to reality tomorrow which by the way I’m excited for although it’s a bit of a come down I guess it’s straight back into that competitive mode and that’s where I thrive in love so it’s you know like I said it’s Sunday night tomorrow morning fly to to paty playing in to back-to-back challenge tour events in in northern France and then right after those two weeks it’s uh British open qualifying which we’re going to get through again I’m making a habit of qualifying for these majors and I’ll be honest with you I love it so until I can play in them guaranteed every single year I’m going to do what I can to just qualify from every single year just want to say thanks to everyone for coming over to the channel liking and subscribing uh this this week’s been mental uh it’s really made and it’s made our week as far as the YouTube stuff because I feel like we’ve been able to show a little bit more of you know professional golf and what all that goes into it um again thanks for everybody for coming over if you want to go ahead let us know in the comments what else you’d want to see from tournament golf we’re going to be producing way more of these sort of videos so let us know turn the Bell on and then you’ll know exactly when we release a video so thanks again guys US Open 2024 1. Walking down a fairway inside the ropes is a high that can’t be replicated. I get it.

  2. Thanks for sharing your US Open experience. Tough not to make the weekend, but you have what it takes to compete with the best. Cheers!

  3. Totally get where you are coming from. You busted your butt and missed by 1. You rubbed shoulders with the big boys and it felt.. like you belong. And to only miss by 1, you belong. As my followers say, keep grinding. I’d like to see behind the scenes of that level of tournaments. Maybe get some other pros chasing the tour to interview with you about their experience. Golf is hard. Doesn’t matter what level you’re at. Keep it up. Love the content and thanks for being vulnerable.

  4. Great video man, admire your perspective and am rooting for you. Found your channel last week and really enjoy your content. Its very unique and refreshing.

  5. 32 year old from Oklahoma City, I had two players highlighted to follow along during work. Tiger Woods & Brandon Robinson Thompson. I hope you can take some sort of pride in that. You have a great game and a great channel. Keep at it for us and yourself. Thanks.

  6. The heights in men's golf are almost impossible to reach – you've come so so much closer than 99% of the men who play the game. Your swing is absolutely fantastic and I expect you'll be at Oakmont next year. It was very exciting to be able to see how you went 🎉 Are you trying for the Open Championship?

  7. You definitely belong on the tour, that last course was a monster so just relate to just how good one had to be to make the cut and just how close you were. All the very best in France. Lee Australia 🇦🇺

  8. Followed you at WH, then the UT vids popped up, what entertainment you brought…… the Videoos were class and having the caddie micced up was
Genius. Don’t be down(easy for me to say) but you’ve plenty ahead, it’s all great experience. I’ll be watching 👍

  9. So great and refreshing to hear your 'psychiatric cool down' …your honest and heartfelt raw take on one of the greatest experiences a golfer can live through will help and encourage many many young aspiring amateurs and pros alike. We all feel your pain and frustration brother…we all know you have such a desire and passion to kick on up to the next level and onto the highest tier in the pro game…but we all know and you know because of your A+ character and personality and what you are achieving for the growth and development of the game…, imo reaching those dizzy heights will not make you any more favourable and likable in my estimation. I mean shoot…I've bet you've spent countless hours thinking and analyzing what it is that prevents the big breakthrough….it could be Jesus….you sure look like Jesus when you were winning those tournaments seven years ago. When I saw you being interviewed on TV for the first time that's exactly what I said to myself….ha ha….but objectively recognize an alarming theme here…Payne Stewart , Scottie Schefflers, ernhard Langer, Ernie Els, Bubba Watson , Jack Nicklaus, Webb Simpson , Peter Malnati even Grayson Murray….they all made their peace with Jesus…maybe…just maybe that's the difference Brandon. The greatest thing one of my teachers at school said to me was…."Mike, don't be afraid to give Jesus a chance" At the time I thought it was the most cowardly embarrassing thing anyone told me….but that was before I met Him!!!! The religious aspect aside….you're a real winner pal…don't you ever forget it….and it will be many many young persons dream including mine to play a round of golf with you and to call you my friend😊

  10. You have the game to win on tour. Just look at the names you beat last week.Don t get down imagine how Rory is feeling.

  11. Brandon, You are bound to feel disappointed missing the cut by one shot but when there is an up there is always a down that follows and playing in the US Open is a big up and that course is so challenging that there is no way you can walk off it without being mentally drained. That is a big part of why you feel the way you do and is normal. The way I see it is you played well but the puts were not dropping and played to your ability but not to you apex upper ability where you get the rub of the green going for you and if you placed 146 with pretty well the best in the world there it shows you belong on tour , because of the messed up rankings because of LIV you could say 20 0r 30 of the best players were missing but that would still put you well inside the top 200. You are very much in the frame that getting on the main tour is more than a realistic possibility which I gauged you at not long ago , after this I have reviewed that and say that getting on tour has moved into a probability now , just keep doing what you are doing and keep knocking on the door and at some point it will open but you are now not just knocking on the door you are banging it. This tournament will make you a better player and one thing is certain you will never play a course where it is tougher on and around the greens.

  12. Good stuff Brandon. It would be great to see you collaborate with other golfers on YouTube. We believe in you. Remember you get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.

  13. Keep grinding mate.. the old cliche.. if you wannit bad enough… and you do!
All the very best for the rest of this year.. Enjoyed watching this.

  14. You feeling the way you are and being a shot from the cut and then seeing Rory a shot from a possible win but the world slagging him off, you all go through hell and we just expect you to not be arsed or deal with, tough world but be honoured your good enough

  15. Brandon, That was one really tricky course where you get punished for slightest mistake especially around the greens. You are also under a different kind of pressure and up against the best in the world that can really effect players especially when they are playing at that kind of level where that is not their normal. In situations like that the players has to hold together which you did and the caddy is really important in those crunch time situations. I was really impressed with Ryan, you can see the 2 of you are tight and on the same wave length, that counts for a lot and whatever you have going with him coach/caddy wise is working. You have that going for you and that is a real blessing. You can see he really wants you to break through and succeed and that is important to him. Is he always on your bag or was it a one off?

  16. Bro, something you said sticks out. “I feel comfortable out there.” That is SO SO key to winning. Keep grinding mate.

  17. Followed you with interest as you're local-ish to me. i was rooting for you. The chanel & coverage provided by Josh was excellent. Thanks for giving us a close look at what the week entails. An incredible experience & immeasurable for you in the long run. Onwards & upwards. 'Bon chance' in France. From someone who regularly 'golfs' on the mainland looking out at the island.

  18. Stopped 1:30… it’s being pissed off at missing cut that will drive you on to bigger & better things!
Still a great achievement. Loving the content. Looking forward to seeing you do big things.
    …swing is pure.

  19. Great effort and thanks for the behind the ropes content, hopefully the Bryan Bros will invite you to SoCal for some content after the shout out on their channel.

  20. Brandon, I really like your swing , I would be very interested in an upload of your swing through the ages and what you worked on to develop it. With really good players with great swings very often the pattern is there early on as in the case of Cameron Champ but some change and develop over time.. Which one were you?
