Tom Kim maintains lead with 5-under 65 | Round 2 highlights | Travelers | 2024

In the second round of the 2024 Travelers Championship, Tom Kim carded a 5-under 65 to maintain a two-shot lead through 36 holes.

One week after a thrilling U.S. Open, the PGA TOUR heads to Connecticut for the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands. This is the final Signature Event of the 2024 PGA TOUR regular season. Keegan Bradley returns this week to defend his title after setting the tournament scoring record of 23-under par last year. He’s claimed two runner-up finishes this season at the Sony Open in Hawaii and Charles Schwab Challenge three weeks ago. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will also be in action and looks to bounce back from his T41 finish at the U.S. Open last week. From the final round of the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and into the U.S. Open was Scheffler’s first time shooting five straight over-par rounds. Scheffler will look to claim another victory this week, as he has already won five times this season and finished T4 here at the Travelers last year. PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele will also tee it up in Connecticut this week. The World No. 2 has 11 top-10 finishes in 15 events this season, including a T7 at the U.S. Open last week. Others to look out for this week include Collin Morikawa, Tony Finau, Ludvig Åberg and Hideki Matsuyama.

I would say that’s position a I mean does it get any better than turning 22 and sleeping on the lead in a signature event 73 yards away number two here for Kim I mean looking right down the flag stick he’s put in this a little lower just outside 15 ft for the Kim birdie he walks it in mhm birie number nine on the week for the birthday board up and out of that one a little bit and that will just drift off the right edge of the green oh that is so nicely done yeah it really is we’ve seen about a handful of guys chip from over there this morning before we came on air and that is by far the best we’ve seen really good stuff from Tom Kim but you got to get it far enough up the right cuz there is a tree that kind of will come into play on the second shot if it doesn’t hasn’t chased far enough but that one’s not down any side that’s right down the center of the Fairway so no issue there for Tom yeah good swing though Paul Tori likes it as he should settled just a little bit wonderful wonderful shot there for Tom Kim now chance to get to 11 under par with that eagle opportunity and getting better oh I mean right online it just a a a dimple more speed is all it needed to get to the front door and go in but I like those birdies right there see birdie here yesterday in round one his front right hole aggressive shot there should start coming back a little bit that’s going to get better and better another good opportunity for our leader Tom Kim drops another one three under through eight 11 under for the tournament this one looks perfect he’s got it on cruise control right now three under par for his opening round a chance to shoot 31 across the front side if he can hold that one Tom Kim rolling it in again backto back birdies four on the front and a 31 he is now at 12 under and Tom Kim has a five shot lead this feels like a video game right now for him less than driver to start the inward half here for Tom Kim our tracing technology is provided by trackman that there’s that low scooter right there 260 to the tree that it just went by and gathers down about another I’m going to say 15 or 20 yards swanie wow we’re watching the guy go dial a shot right now no doubt about it that for his 13th birdie of the week just pouring it on and pouring them in 13 birdies on the week for Tom Kim 507 today Billy it’s a gimme if you can find the Fairway it really is and that one needs to get just a little right not going to do it oh that take the club that’s going to just get you back in play even if it’s 20 yards but staying down on it very very nice and look at that paor likes it maybe went 70 yards so that just shows a degree of difficulty of that shot and 13 what a recovery shot to set Kim up here from 95 yards really was now with this whole location kind of on the front you throw it a little bit beyond bring it back oh come on got them back a little bit let’s see if he can get to 14 under this with some distance behind it 13 ft to be exact that distance obviously this one very quick got them both left early laar after that life for his second shot not too shabby this one straight down Broadway as well 13 of 14 Fairways hit today for Tom Kim well struck drive from Tom Kim traveled 307 here at the 18th just a bu 29 left that flag stick just hanging over that bunker just waiting for someone to go at it all right one final birdy chance for Tom Kim here at the home hole Yeah drifting to his right down the hill move I thought it would and so did you so it’s going to be 65 to follow up yesterday’s 62 match ing Tom Kim’s best ever 36 hole output on the PGA tour and he leads by three for the moment fogy free through 36 yeah that’s good work and I’ve got our tournament leader right here Tom what a way to spend your birthday right pretty clinical round of golf out there huh yeah played well um got hot hot out there for um today for some reason felt harder than yesterday but uh no got to going on the front nine and um just you know know just overall solid two days yeah you were five under par through 10 and you just kind of cruised in how would you overall characterize your round yeah I mean I think I feel like we you know I didn’t really Force anything you know if birdies came I you know I try to take advantage and if if I didn’t really have the opportunity I just I play smart and that’s exactly what I did and um like I said just you know pretty solid overall two days you have about 24 hours a little bit more between now and your third round how will you spend that time maybe go down to Sally and New Haven again I’m looking forward to a nap that’s first of all I’m going to go go to back to the hotel and take a nap and then we’ll decide from there thanks for watching the PJ Tour on YouTube for more videos click here to subscribe click here
