[Music] what’s up everybody and welcome back to another David Maxwell golf video where today we are going to be going through my unboxing and first look of the T9 watch from voice caddy you see this watch has been out for a little while but I’ve just got my hands on it thank you so much to the guys at boys caddy Australia because we have a whole range of products that we’re going to be testing here on the channel but first today I wanted to get into this now I have been on course I have actually taken the watch out and given it its first test run which you guys are going to see on this really just throw it in the comments and let me know I’ll get back to every single comment in the comments section but first of all why don’t we open up this box and see exactly what’s inside it’s a box inside a box so there is the watch now I got the gray or the space gray color which I actually really like I think that’s really cool like I said I have opened this up and used which is why it’s on uh but what you get inside the Box actually once I put the watch on so what you get inside the box is actually another box uh you get a charging cable now I will say that this is potentially the best charging cable of a watch that I have seen and the reason why I say that is because this magnet here is so strong I probably should have just should have just left the watch off it’s a USB charging cable so you plug that end in and then with this watch all you do is you just simply uh click it on there’s a little spot for it to go the right way it’ll show you you click it on and that is Rock Solid like that is just not coming off at all it’s a it’s a mounted kind of a charging case so there’s like a little nonslip thing on the bottom so you can just put it on your computer desk there and it’s going to be super super secure really do love that and also voice caddy have a voice caddy manager which is a software that you can download all of the large updates from you can make sure that you just uh keep all your software up to date for all of the hardware you buy through voice caddy and that’s a really easy way of just plugging it onto that connecting it to your computer and downloading it literally within minutes also Inside the Box you get instructions which let’s be honest no one ever reads us you have a spare watch band now what you would use this for is obviously if you destroy your current watch band they don’t have to put that in there the fact that they do put that in there I like it I don’t know if I’m ever going to use it but I do like it so I’d rather have it than not have it very good presentation very high quality presentation again from voice caddy I’ve come to expect nothing less in saying that there are a lot of features in this watch I’ve gone through I’ve watched Gabe from Let’s Plays through uh and a whole bunch of other videos Mr short game on guys who have already reviewed this watch and please go check those out as well some of the features that I really love in this watch and what I did to put it to the test was the fact that you can use it here at home this watch has a Tempo trainer that you can use at home to help improve your golf game is a massive bonus for me and I thought that why not just get into the simulator hit a whole bunch of of shots I’m working on my swing and I wanted to figure out should I have a longer back swing or should I have a shorter back swing I wanted to get some numbers around that and see what tempo actually affected my swing and in what way so that being said I went and I jumped in the simulator and I hit a whole bunch of golf balls with a longer swing and a shorter swing and what I found was really really cool I found that with a shorter swing a lot of my Tempo was was where it needed to be around about anywhere from I’m going to say 2.8 to 3.1 but hitting more so 3 to 3.1 more often which is like the golden ratio tempo for golf which I absolutely loved but then when I got into a longer back swing I started to get a little bit more erratic I started to see things like 3.6 and then 2.9 and then three and then 3.1 and when I got it right it was definitely really really good and I hit the ball further but it was a lot more inconsistent and so after going through this and hitting like 15 shots and and 20 shots with this I throw some numbers up on screen right now I was able to get some average stats and see exactly what the difference was and I was able to go back then and look at my Tempo and see that I had a much more consistent Tempo with a shorter back swing which sure it was shorter in my carry distance but it was a lot more consistent I had more of a consistent shot shape and it was just going to be better for my game something that you can use the watch for outside of a golf course is a big tick for me some people might not have a simulator some people might just have an outdoor net some people might not have either of those and just want to swing a golf club over at the park and get the right Tempo the watch is going to help you do that and help you practice but what about onour how does it work on course and what can we we see benefits for the watch on course versus say a laser range finder all right so here I am on the te and I’m basically warming up here and what I’ve done is I’ve taken a look at the watch I’ve taken a look at the layout to see where I need to hit this ball now I do know this course so I do pretty much know where I need to hit it anyway but it’s handy to have the numbers I’ve hit a great drive there right down the middle and what we see here now is when we get there after I’ve gone through the overlay of the course I’m now here about to hit an addon and I have because this is just to practice I have uh the slope turned on on the watch so you can see I’m going to throw it up here on screen where you can see the slope of the watch is telling me that I have 150 151 M playing uphill to where I’ve positioned the pin on the watch now you can adjust this pin you can move it forward you can move it back and I was kind of trying to eyeball it it was getting a little bit dark but it was 151 M it was slightly uphill the wind was slightly into me I chose an Adine and a hidden a on and here’s how it went so let’s check this out uh keep an eye on that sure the back swing by the way because it was working really well absolutely flushed it perfect shot and I’ve landed that middle of the green which is exactly where I tried to uh to aim for except when I got up there I noticed this so when I got up there the pin was right at the back now like I said it was starting to get a little bit dark uh the black and white sometimes you can you know misinterpret that with any kind of color really when you’re 150 MERS away and the sun’s starting to go down so from where I put the pin on the watch it was definitely spot on however if I had to move that pin back I probably would have gone upper Club to a 7on and just tried to hit like a 90% 7 iron and I would have gotten a little bit closer but we’ve hit an 8 iron the watch has done its job and it was really good not only that when I looked at the green reading before I hit that shot I was able to see which way the green uh was sloping in terms of it’s its elevation and also which way the Grain on the green was going which is really important because when you watch this part it’s going left to right on the watch is telling me that and then when I’m hitting this part I know that the grain is going left to right and it’s actually bringing that ball left to right which it was just a two-part and I tapped that in now here is somewhere where you can actually go and do a fly over of the hole now the fly over of the hole with the watch is really cool it will show you the full layout of the hole and what you’re trying to do so you can position yourself uh and where you’re trying to hit this ball now I saw that this pin was a front pin which normally hit driver on this hole but with that front pin it is almost impossible to get it up and down if the ball is too close to the hole so if you hit a really good drive and you’re trying to make Birdie on a short PA four probably not the one to do it on here unless you get really lucky this pin was positioned right behind the bunker so I elected to go with a two wine and uh anyway here we go two wi hit that one really nicely absolutely love that and straight down the middle I wanted to get uh a couple of wed shots in here as well while I had the time so I decided to throw two balls down you can see two balls there and I actually forgot which one was the right ball so pulled that one back um but I decided to throw two balls down and get some numbers and see well how can I want to trust this watch right I don’t want to just use it and then do a review on it and if I’m going to actually use it I want to use a watch and I want to be able to trust it so I wanted to give myself the best opportunity to hit flush shots on numbers that I know I can definitely hit and the wedges was one of them this was about 115 yards to the pin um and Uphill on that uphill slope with the elevation I went a uh knock down 48 like a like a 75% 48° nice strike there but I just blocked it to the right so probably a good reason why I’ve uh got two balls there it’s still on the green um still on the green pin High just right and then when I’m about to hit this one this was actually a really good shot um gave me that little bit extra distance to get some spin on the ball and I’ve flushed that and hit that perfectly landed basically on the pin and just r by a little bit as we can see beautiful little fly over here um just a great course absolutely love this course links Hope Island coming up to the green you can see that one short right um still pin high but just right and then the second one you can see just gone past the pin there so it’s landed pin high and just rolled down that’s that slope that I was talking about so if you’re trying to get a wedge up and down from the front of that bunker with a driver it’s just going to be impossible so the watch telling me where I need to be definitely helps me in that scenario then what I’m doing here is probably one of my favorite features of this golf watch and that is I Mark the ball on the green and then I go to the flag and I Mark the flag and it will tell me exactly how far I have to part so for guys that use aim point and that sort of thing or for people like me who measure their parts with their backstroke you’re actually going to be able to see okay I have exactly 3 m to the pin it only takes 2 seconds you just Mark your ball walk to the pin Mark the pin it will adjust the pin on the map of the watch and then you know okay I’ve got a 3 m part to the pin now I don’t think this is legal for tournament use you’re going to have to step it out instead however for practicing and for getting out there on course and for nailing your putts on course this is absolutely phenomenal and probably one of my favorite features of the watch to get exact distances from ball to pin and then here I’m actually fixing my pitch mark so you can see how close that landed to the hole which is probably about 2 and 1/2 M cuz this was a 3 m Putt and then I go to line this up and and here we go rolling The Rock it’s like sitting there sitting there sitting there drops it in so that was the second ball uh that we actually made birdie from there the other one you can see is just over on the left and that probably would have been a two-part pass so super super happy and super super impressed with that watch then finally when you go back and check your around only played two holes but when you go back and check your round it gave me a 71 one under par but I only played two holes I got par and then birdie that I put put in for the second bow so um it’s just giving me PA for every other hole but you have two options you can either check um the shot of the hole which is that hole just here you can check it by The Voice caddy app or you can go Google and it will give you a Google Maps version of where you’ve hit the shot and how far you’ve hit each shot so it’ll say I hit the first shot 221 yards 111 yards was was the second one uh and then my part which was a you know a 3 m part so that again is super cool you’ve got stuff that you can go back and look on after the round you can screenshot them you can share them you can show people your longest drives you can do all that sort of stuff which is really cool now obviously this watch is not limited to just those two main functions that we’ve talked about here on course and and uh also the tempo trainer there’s a heck of a lot more in the watch that we’re going to dive into in more detail I’d love to do a full video on the tempo trainer and show you guys exactly what I did and how I did it and how I use the tempo trainer to show me that actually my shorter back swing which I’ve had you know for ages was working way better and I don’t ever know why even bother changing and that was just a brain fart because I’ve tried to go to this longer backswing for the last I’m going to say maybe eight months to get a little bit more power and distance in my dispersion my game my handicap has all gone out the window so getting back to that stage and actually making sure that my body is in good positions that I’ve got really great Tempo is definitely helped by a watch like this or something that can tell you uh where your Tempo is at so I’m going to be doing a full video on that we’re going to be getting on and doing a full round on course as as well where we can then go back and review the stats with the watch so let me know in the comments which
