European Cricket day two means match two in this Dutch Tri series T20 Internationals all week long here at the VCC ground in vorberg big crowd expected again today and I tell you it’s a beautiful day for Cricket currently around about 21 degrees and just a light Breeze got to say this really is what European Cricket should be hopefully in 20 years all around the continent so Scotland not playing today it will be the hosts the Netherlands taking on Ireland of course Ireland last week had a crazy Victory didn’t they over Pakistan on homea even though they did ultimately go down 2-1 in that series they’re certainly Keen to make a good impression I’m sure on day one for the Netherlands got to say I was really impressed with Michael lit at the top of the order uh yesterday also I think that vicam jit Singh he looked in incredible form and I wonder if he might push up into the top three today for Ireland of course they’ve got a lot of players to watch out for I’m certainly looking forward to seeing Paul Sterling now that guy is a guy I’ve followed for many many years it’s great to have him on the European Cricket network for the first time today of course he’ll be leading the Irish side let’s talk about this pitch I got to say held up pretty well yesterday and I heard about 150 160 is a pass score here maybe just a little bit skiddy I think that perhaps the Scottish Bowlers tried a bit too much I think the Netherlands were a little bit more consistent with their plans and ultimately they got the win yesterday coin toss all important I know that Andrew Leonard is standing by with the two captains let’s see who wins the coin toss in this match Netherlands versus Ireland in match two yeah thanks Vinnie time for the toss here in the middle at vorberg we got Paul Edwards you’ve won the toss come right in here mate what are you going to do please and why uh yeah we’re going to have a bowl first um you know I think the the Wicket plays pretty well but uh yeah hopefully gets him some early wickets like with did yesterday and then keep into a smaller score you defended really well yesterday you have to do something different today in terms of chasing do you feel your experience here at vorberg all those Pro Series games and the experience on the hybrid pitches do you think that’s going to help you yeah I think definitely it does play a little bit different to to what most teams are used to so yeah hopefully use that to our advantage we’ve obviously played um a fair few games here in the last month or so how much is the difficulty of back-to-back T20 eyes your boys are very fit and very strong ready to go again yeah I think we do it uh pretty regularly these days so now we’re we’re good to go okay final question any team changes from me today yeah we’ve got Buster coming in and Tim Pringle uh for Arian dut and have one more C taking bre yes very well remembered Scott Edwards okay Scott Edwards choosing to have a bowl first Paul what would you have done yourself uh yeah I haven’t actually decided yet I’m glad it fell the other way um I think coming into this series probably looking to do a bit of both as the week goes on so today we get a hit first and then I’m sure as the week goes on we’ll get another one uh Bowl first so happy enough what are your Ambitions for this series are you looking at the rankings about the 2026 World Cup are you thinking purely about next month or you want to kind of assert your dominance and show Scotland and the Netherlands that you guys are are boss here in Europe uh I think we’re just focusing on today really um we want to put in a good performance uh it’s a first time in Holland for a number of years now and get used to the conditions and I think it’s a fantastic week I think personally we should play each other more often so hopefully this is a start of that sort of partnership and we can we can get more series like this as the Year’s go on did you catch much of the game yesterday what are you expecting from the hybrid pitch yeah I did I didn’t even know it was a hybrid pitch that’s a good start um yeah look I think again and we’re still in that phase where we’re focusing on the World Cup coming up and it’s the leadup to that we’re very much focusing on what we’re doing well and what we’re looking to do well and as the week progresses and maybe into the World Cup itself we’ll start sort of focusing on all our an analysis on uh pitches and circumstances and and weather conditions Etc so yeah okay final question team news uh myself in for rosad there uh Fon Cricket it is the Netherlands the host taking on Ireland Ireland playing their first game in this six match series great aerial shots there of the VCC ground here the bber cricket ground in the ha and Island being sent in by the Dutch interesting that Paul Sterling said he wasn’t too bothered what what happens first whether he bats first whether he bowls first some of the crowd here and another thing Paul Sterling of course leading Ireland saying something that I really like to hear just before the game saying we need to be playing more of these matches against the European nations he’s really excited to be out here against the Netherlands and of course Scotland early later in the week and three quite evenly matched teams you have a look at the Irish lineup there Sterling listed to open with B Bernie Locker was very good last week against Pakistan and then you’ve got that kind of blend of mix that blend of Youth and experience in there Island 53% favorites over the Netherlands but you see there is neck and neck interestingly seeing the Netherlands are not a full member they actually have a better record against Ireland they have won more games than they’ve lost so pretty interesting interesting changes as well for the Netherlands with Tim Pringle bit of a cult hero wasn’t he in that World Cup last year he’s in the side at the expense of Aran Dart and also Bas Dela comes in don’t think he’ll be bowling and know he’s just kind of managing his workload I think he will be playing as a bat only and speaking of Tim Pringle looks like he’s going to bowl the first over so no Ari and dut but they are sticking with spin to open here we go with the start of match two starts with the do B Bernie out there with Paul Sterling this is the tactic we saw the Netherlands using yesterday starting the series of course with that win over Scotland this one actually gets through the field takes a piece of it so I don’t think it’ll go all the way although it might this field that’s quick just slightly mishandled there in the in the covers I think this is just had a bit of a haircut this field well Bernie gets the first runs finger won’t be too impressed that went afternoon Vinnie good afternoon everyone great to be with you again this one just swept around the corner they won’t get a run here yeah of course you know this Ireland team intimately what do you make of the side and interesting thoughts from Paul Sterling at the toss saying know he’s really excited to be here would love to play more against against some of these nations yeah look I think that’s a really powerful message isn’t it um maybe Ireland’s best ever white ball player could well turn out to be Ireland’s greatest ever cricketer Paul Sterling in fact quite Rec L you’re going to love this St Vinnie became Ireland’s most capped cricketer goes after this deep Wicket is’s vacant and that’s going to be another boundary to Bal Bernie when fits that one from outside the off stump yeah Bal Bernie’s been in great touch over the last week he was brilliant against Pakistan I thought the most fluently I’ve seen him play in T20 eye Cricket looks to have really enjoyed just letting go of The reigns he’s handed them over to his old mate Paul Sterling GPS a little bit off this Earth is from Pringle and B Bernie Works away just the two boundaries off that first over eight with that loss after one yeah so he’s handed that captaincy over to Paul Sterling and since then maybe not in the initial couple of months always an adjustment period as you go from being the leader to being one of the troops he’s played really really nicely I thought he was exceptional against Pakistan that’s the schedule that we’ve got through this series and that message that Paul Sterling sent I think is such a good thing to hear a player of his caliber saying it’s not oh we don’t want to play against the associates we should be playing more against the associates and more against their European Rivals I I think they’ve benefited in a way where they’ve come in the last decade becoming a full member being have to play test Cricket the Pinnacle of of of cricket and you also I think they they understand the importance of developing these nations and kind of getting more more seats at the table if you like at the top level of the game Viv Kingman was excellent yesterday four wickets in a player of the match performance he’s going to start from the paddock end the far end there and Sterling will get to face up for the first time when you think of it it’s it’s an hour flight from Dublin or from Glasgow or from Edinburgh these three countries they should be playing more against each other how will King M go now against Ireland going to be good to watch him this one’s fairly straight around the corner they’ll get through for a single interesting they’ve got kind of floating slip in place there they’ve got the square outfielders is their two outfielders this was a tactic we saw employed by the Netherlands yesterday all the talk is of course not just of this series but the World Cup that’s going to follow it and I think we got a sign yesterday at an early warning shot from the Dutch that they’re going to be a team to watch at that T20 World Cup next month the trick for them the difficulty for them is that group they have such a difficult group in group d three test nations in Nepal they’ll play against Ireland maybe no easier with India and Pakistan and then USA and Canada too kingma on a good length there played Away by Bal bur he did score some runs last week pretty speaking of Pakistan Pakistan obviously playing in Ireland last week and for Ireland to to beat Pakistan that’s it big confidence boost going to the World Cup isn’t it as well yeah it was a huge win and there’s a lot of talk in and around the the probably the six or nine months leading up to that Paul Sterling assumed the white ball captaincy on a full-time basis late in 2023 late last year since then they’ve had an away series winter Zimbabwe they probably should have won the series against Afghanistan in this format to in charge after winning the first game they took that big Wing against Pakistan and clarf too backs away slightly this time Kingman one thing about him yesterday I think he just kind of went for consistency I think we saw uh Scotland probably trying a little bit more with their seamers kind of within the over yesterday but King was just getting that hint of away movement you saw it there as it whistles past the outside edge of Andy B Bernie yeah it feels like he’s been around such a long time doesn’t it Vivan kingma 29 years of age plays for the vber Cricket Club lives a matter of yards away May meters nowhere in Central Europe sorry but you can literally see his house and F he’s bowling to a guy who grew up right next to his Cricket Club in Penbrook Cricket Club in Andy Bal Bernie six doors away steps cross and down legs like won’t be wide because t20i regulations it kind of went to his original position but bour certainly trying things that was probably one one and a half stops away there’s M kingman’s house right there absolutely love it you couldn’t right it could you imagine how proud I Know Jack King was always proud of his son but must be even prouder today after a player of the match performance yesterday four for 21 he was the pick of the attack by a distance maybe the player of the day just superb won that player of the match award love watching him go about his business again fairly straight from kingma slight pull shot he’s going to escape the infield or come back for two appeared on a podcast last week without going into detail and one of the questions I got asked Vinnie was can you give this one player to watch from each of the associates and I had to go with Vivian kingma and it’s more than just a cult status he has now you know incredibly popular guys probably the only top level fast baller I know bowling in his spectacles that’s why I always have a soft spot for him but I think he’s a player to watch there with with real reason think of the players he’s beating out for this opening bowling role it’s been brilliant of late this one’s angled away finds the fielder in the circle that’ll be the end of the second over very tight one from kingma just two off it and after two overs Ireland after being sent in by the Dutch Skipper Scott Edwards there’re 11 without loss we anyway surprised that Scotty decided to to have a bow first given that they defended very comfort yesterday and and on these pitches here the hybrids that we’re playing on at warberg it seems to be that if you get runs on the board it might be a good way to go yeah I was a little bit surprised I I got to admit but then also I look at that Netherlands Innings yesterday and they got there in the end but there were times they were kind of a little bit flat let’s say in the middle overs maybe a new challenge obviously uh against a new opponent today uh but I think also you’d want to have an A mixture of of setting targets and chasing Targets in this week as well so so it’s probably probably a 50/50 but in the end he he decided he wants to chase I suppose the other thing about chasing you kind of you can set your your risk reward parameters in the second inning knowing what you have to do so I suppose that’s knowledge that you’ve got if you are batting second anyway his van bake was excellent yesterday the first one’s defended want to say quick hello to all of our viewers of course and there might be some people watching ecn for the first time of course with iseland on the park the full Irish side and a couple of things on the screen you see the expected score there that’s what the the technology is telling us is is the most likely score at the moment 168 Ireland kind of 52% at the moment but very even contest Netherland even had a little bit in that first over here’s man bake chances at this one and he will get the Gap maybe a fingertip on that I don’t think this one will go to the boundary possibly three there and Sterling does well to leg it back so he’ll have his first runs of the series you talked about that head-to-head record just before the the start of play Vinnie and certainly it’s maybe a bit of a misnomer if you look at things you look at the rankings Ireland higher ranked side but the Dutch absolutely edged the tail of the tape at the moment they’ve played 13 in their history Ireland with just five wins over the Netherlands seven for the Dutch and then one non result most recent game though that went to Ireland in a big way in the T20 World Cup in Abu Dhabi one kind of Beats now Bernie for Pace who tries to waft it to leg side of course that had an incredible four wickets in four balls I know I was watching that from Greece and we always couldn’t believe what we were seeing we had a crazy storm in in Corfu but uh I suppose the dut will be hoping to avoid that kind of Calamity with the bat today yeah Curtis CER with the four and four the double hat-trick on people call it it was was unique really because he hasn’t bold consistent since then in this format so he’s not a regular pick every time sometimes he has been bowling but other times not at all good delivery this time beats Paul Sterling bit of carry f b b is bowled at good Pace both yesterday and today yeah and it’s interesting with the the brand new ball I’d say kind of first three four overs we have seen kind of the hint of sideways movement off the pitch it is a hybrid which has some kind of artificial grass stitched in if you like to the Natural Turf surface another good one from Van B plays just inside it Sterling he just one more word about the hybrid you look at the pitch there you actually probably wouldn’t know in fact you’re watching at home you’re going what are these two yeah guys going on about in the commentary box is a hybrid pitch it’s a very fine weave of artificial grass which really I believe the the theory behind is that it just helps to keep together the real grass all the better you can get more games played on top steps across and this will go the unended F leg region and it’s going to go for four into some of the spectators that are here in this high level contest today so kind of taking Ms into his own hands there it’s great to see sobody the Dutch out on a Sunday afternoon kind of took that off off stump didn’t he got it fine enough to get it past van maker nice jot good Innovation and another good crowd look at that what a great way to watch cricket up at The Paddock end in front of the little canal there’s horses and pigs and all sorts behind you bit of sunshine 20 21 degrees maybe a Sunday early evening beverage is as well great day out good time for it good weather for it as well and yeah our crew spring spring media they love a little bit of National Geographic so I’m sure that they’ve said that we might see some animals today on the footage is kimma he’s hit straight back over his head but with not any significant power and first one will be a DOT and there is the spring media team in us up a probably not a thorough bread I don’t think that one is going to be at the Irish thorough Bread sales in gson County cuair but it’s just it’s a beautiful setting where about a five minute stroll away from the the city of warberg it’s a very small City H but beautiful river that runs through it and some beautiful houses really really nice part of the world probably 10 15 minutes from Den hag itself he’s Bal him as we see Val Bernie trying to go across the line there and King is still on Fifth Wicket of the series clatters into the off stop and irand L their first 19 for one this man is having the time of his life it’s Vivian kingma oh he’s always had so much potential isn’t he but he’s never done it consistently on the international stage he’s often being The Unlucky One to miss out but look at how accurate he’s been a lovely length you cannot pull that length with kingma’s natural trajectory just skids on you hit the top of off you’re going pretty good whatever you’re bowling and kingma does exactly that and he’s the back of a very in Andy Bal who’s the first batter to be dismissed Ireland in early trouble 19 for one and again I think it’s a Rec uh a reward for consistency for kingma who hasn’t tried too much he’s just tried to put the ball in dangerous areas put the ball on the bat as Court B bery is in good form we have seen always the touring openers so far have pretty subdued starts maybe this to do with the Wicket and the conditions but kingma was thrilled to hear the death rattle L and Tucker comes out at number three the Irish keeper it wasn’t he in good form last week as well Lenny and he needed to be because prior to that it was a stat that was kind of doing the rounds on social media he was averaging less than six Against full member nations since the last T20 World Cup in T20 o Cricket he had a real horror run of form I guess credit to the Irish back room staff for sticking with them many myself included were calling for him to be dropped down the order not dropped down of the team thought that he might have been a good option at 5 six or seven first one’s on the off stamp and won’t be me on but they’ve decided to stick with him at three and they got real reward with those back-to-back 50s that came at very good Pace in fact in that third T20 ey when he captained Ireland for the first time the sixth T20 ey captain in the history of the game for Ireland proud moment for the Pembrook and lster lightning man I thought the fluency with which he played with was the best I’ve ever seen him bat actually looked dead set for a 100 before he just remarkably gave it away hitting out holding out to Imad Wasim out at long off he’s a lovely player to watch he goes very much on the creative route he will find ways to to score in funny areas when he gets a stable base Vin he’s actually very powerful he’s really really good to watch 50/50 contest at the moment according to the numbers yeah Kim has been in in very very good form in Nepal in country that you know very well Lenny he took six wickets in fact he was third leading Wicket taker in that series also he kind of shows a lot of resilience after the Heartbreak of missing out the World Cup squad so narrowly last year you know they say don’t get B get better he’s just getting better this has glanced away though it’ll beat the man in the circle and that’s going to be for so kind of breaks the shackles a little bit as Tucker gets off the mark well not a great piece of Fielding from Daniel dorham I thought he should have got something on this yes it’s gone quickly but you need to get something just to stop the boundary prevent the momentum of the ball Tucker gets off the mark in nice Style with a boundary yeah kingma did have a very good series there and cman do that was a triangular with a final so five games was a very high scoring series as well plenty of totals over 200 so for Kingman to stand out on spin friendly pitches there another real achievement from him he’s finding his time now as a new ball bowler for the Netherlands been front but maybe just angling down the L side they the Fielding I suppose it was a little bit of a little bit of an issue for Scotland wasn’t it yesterday I think this one for me SC of carrying on past the leg stop yeah we don’t have a camera directly behind the Bowers arm from the other end but you could just see it there might have been a bit of height concerns too certainly half a shap to say the least but Kingman causing problems it’s not just with the movement away from the rander nips it back in sometimes too great bowler to watch yeah I think that was one that didn’t really have that kind of a w that he’s been getting most of the time and that’s why Maks the Inside Edge but do think was a good decision from the official last ball of the fourth goes on the walk and clips away in front of square and maxo down won’t be able to chase that one down so a boundary to finish the over two of them in the fourth and island starting to get going it’s 28 for one this is trademark lur Tucker here he’s on the walk sometimes he gets criticized he gets out of rhythm for not getting a stable base to a stroke but there you can see the energy gets into that shot really nice clip off his pads he gets for it’s interesting you said about the the hybrid pitch we’ll come back to that in a second but first let’s have a look at these groups and supp all the teams will see this week they won’t meet each other in the RCC men’s T20 World Cup unless of course they get the super eight where they potentially could but yeah Ireland in group a some pretty decent opponents there with India and Pakistan both in the same group yeah the way the fixtures fall is interesting for Ireland because it many are talking about it possibly coming down to that final group game against Pakistan on the 16th think they’ll need to play well to do that USA on home soil will be no slouches if we just hold the camera there to the right we just pass Jack balour and Ashley balber that’s Andy’s father and indeed Andy’s brother who’s playing at The V Club this is dorham coming to the attack for the first time made his debut yesterday first one offers a little bit of width that’s well put away by Sterling the Irish Skipper gets four yeah really good stroke wasn’t it just opens up his favorite offside he loves width Daniel may have to keep an eye on that Sterling he’s just prolific through the offside any width whether it’s off Pace or spin he’ll find a way to score really heavily through there oh po back a catch and doram was never going to miss that maybe a slight change of pace but horribly misjudged by Sterling who goes four and out an island 32 for two I think he’s trying to hit it to long on it’s just it’s almost stuck in the pitch rather than gripped well that’s the indication that Paul Sterling is giving definitely credit to dorham he’s held it back a touch but you can just see there sticking in the Wicket a fraction maybe a hint to turn two and it’s the simplest of catches you’re not going to be able to hit it over Daniel dorham cuz what is he 6’8 6’9 6′ 10 who knows it’s two big scalps for the Netherlands early in the power play Bal Bernie the first to go Sterling the second Ireland Captain has to take the long walk back walk back for 11 it’s 33 for two 32 for two yeah it might have been over a reg Siz human you never know but uh yeah Sterling just undone by that one you’re right kind of stops in the pitch just tap back really so this will bring Harry tector to the crease of course we’ve seen a fair bit of Tim on the network playing for the Irish 11 and uh he’s a player has a lot of talent and Harry of course certainly little bit ahead of where Tim is in his career comes in after a fairly subdued start I suppose I was going to say also the Fielding was a bit of a problem for Scotland in the first Innings yesterday they also had their their issues with some Miss opportunities we then a couple of misfields go for four so far Tor faces up for the first time Tim Tor had a really bright start to the year the brother of Harry for the lster lightning team he had a bit of a horror show of a tour with an Irish emerging team that went out to the Caribbean barely scored a run I think he had three or four ducks out there but since then then he’s at 350s for the lster lightning he’s Bal him he’s played all around that one and tor’s going to have to go for a duck and dorham’s got two in the fifth well this is Ireland’s modern attitude they keep going whatever the situation they keep attacking they keep playing shots occasionally it’s going to prove a little costly and can look a little foolish you’ve already lost a wicket in the over and Harry Tor as he watches this one back he’s not going to be overly pleased is he he’ll think this was in the area for him to hit and execute he’s probably looked to go a little squarer than he would have liked if he’d held his shape and gone down towards long on he might have been okay but it’s a massive over for the big man the left arm spinner called into action in the power play he’s found two in it and it’s two of Ireland’s biggest fish Paul Sterling gone and now Harry Tor to arand in all sorts of trouble 32 for three and dorham’s interesting isn’t he because he’s not afraid to slow the ball down a little bit and that certainly never really came on either to teor played all around it yeah the big man having a very good start to his his debut and uh you know that dorham actually those is his first these are his first T20 Internationals for the Netherlands he did actually debut in a first class match against Ireland in 2013 when he was only 15 years of age yeah you won’t believe that Vinnie July 2013 the IC InterContinental cup a couple of the orangish players playing today were still were actually playing that day George dck and Andy Bal Bernie both in the Irish lineup back then dorham seven wickets this is pretty close as well maybe thinking that’s just going to go down the leg side maybe a touch a bat on that as well camper coming in at number five yeah Curtis camp for the new man to the crease it’s just the drift look at the lovely drift that he’s got it’s clearly going to miss the leg stump that’s a really good decision Netherlands into favoritism 6040 at the moment tossed up V this one came back at camper so a great start for dorham with two for four in the fifth over and the score is 32 for3 let’s welcome you into the box here Vinnie Sandu Mr Maximo for the European Cricket network and joining me for the first part of this game none other than Andrew Leonard Lenny pretty impressive start for the hosts uh it’s particularly with the ball I mean the fielding’s been a little bit off but I think they’re really thrilled to have three early wickets yeah I think those who would have looked at this series and said oh Ireland are favorites there the test Nation they’re the highest rank side they don’t really know the three teams then because the Dutch are a very very fine T20 side Scots too I know we didn’t see the best of them yesterday and if you look at their records historically all three of these sides they always have find ways to beat each other also for Ireland this is going back to an Achilles heel of theirs they tend to struggle against leading associates they really do they actually in some ways go better against some of the lower ranked full members chose how competitive those sides ranked probably e to 20 aren’t it it really is it’s a a smaller SP Board of cricket then after Delaney you’ve got real power still to come with markad and Barry McCarthy back into the team after those back spasm issues he had in the second and third T20 so batting all the way down not just to nine but 10 as well because funand into the team and he has a golden opportunity here in the Netherlands grem couldn’t travel over for well publish sized reasons F hand’s not in the World Cup squad but that’s a preliminary World Cup squad that can be changed if he can show his worth here not just with the ball also with the bat it’s a real sort of talismanic field or too golden chance you talk about him as that triple threat he absolutely is does it all b ball in the field he’s also possibly the nicest guy in the circuit which is a big statement given just how many great guys there yesterday and the bowling performance in the power play very impressive so far but I do think we’re going to see Irish with a bit of a counter punch at some stage yeah there is that deep batting lineup for Ireland that I was just discussing a moment ago but the Dutch the way in which they’ve celebrated the wickets this is just sort of business as usual the Irish fans they have traveled over nice weekend here the dut are dominating right now for me I still think those Pro Series games just before the series four matches three matches at forberg have helped them a lot just to get used to this Wicket to the parameters cashing in at the moment nicely dri but protection out there can you tell us a bit more about the pro series particularly for Irish viewers who might not quite understand it yes you had the Hurricanes vers the SE far it was the best of the north versus the best of the South out here in the Netherlands they played three matches on this Wicket on this hybrid pitch with the big boundary parameters it was actually a clean sweep it was three nil um Scott Edward as Captain of the Sea fars and Max Odell was captain of the Hurricanes but all the players got valuable experience out here and I just think since this Series has started they’ve really used the pitch wisely good use of the feet here from Tucker gets it very straight and straight enough despite the athletic dive from Logan van bake right in front of us that’s really good batting from Tucker It’s where you get good reward here straight down the ground despite the long boundaries okay beautiful a little bit in this so those Pro Series games that was in the T20 format yeah T20 format all as their first sort of real preparation since the the series to get ready for this world cup and for this Tri series because there’s quite a lot of weight on this Tri series which I’ll touch on in a moment talker’s other goto shots the The Sweep shot and if you look at the importance of the domestic games the top class is still very very strong that’s the top club game but this is kind of trying to bridge the gap is it yeah you what the procedure is you’re trying to get the best of the best in the country just to go one step above what the top class are is so close out the seventh over it’s pumped down the ground for a single score 14 2 for three now yeah so what you’re trying to create is just a system where you have a level just above what the domestic scene is that brings the best in the country to try their skills and maybe put their hand up for selection for a World Cup squad for a tri series and there’s something about this Tri series I just want to touch on a little bit the rankings and the points numbers are massive with what happened last night with the Netherlands win over Scotland they’re actually moved up to 12th and if they beat Ireland today they would go to 11th there’s automatic spots on the line we’ve got India and Sri Lanka that World Cups in 2026 if you’re in that top 12 ranking cut off date in about 6 weeks time you get a free ticket so I mean this try series if any of these teams are able to go on and win three from four or maybe Ireland and Netherlands go four from four you almost guarantee that you will get the automatic spot in 2 years time as well yeah in essence the reason for that is the top eight teams from the USA and Canada will qualify automatically for the next T20 World Cup that will be co-hosted by Indi and Sri Lanka who get their tickets as co-hosts but if they go in and get to the super a it means it’ll be the next four on the rankings that qualifies as Paul Van Mak comes into the attack cut away immediately by Tucker behind Square really good shot right on top of the bounce four more to lur Tucker yeah beautiful shot rode the bounce nicely D van maker first delivered little bit back of a length a little bit of width on off but that’s a gorgeous Cricket Stoke yeah those rankings that will then power that decision beneath that it means that there’s really almost a guaranteed Banker for West Indies and Afghanistan to get through and in the final two spots this is presuming that nothing funny happens in the Caribbean somebody from well outside of things in Nepal for example if they got to the super eights that would throw the cat amongst the pigeons but there’ll be two spots up for grabs on the rankings table and right now it’s really the two teams that we’re watching that actually kind of hold hold up pole positions and badway are left stranded hopeless watching on they won one of the five against Bangladesh which gave them something Scotland and the Dutch have played the least game so their volatility within the rankings will be higher it’s all a bit complicated there’s only one thing to do if disappointment that he’s not going to the World Cup maybe stepping more into a coaching role he’s been here during the pro series the last month he’s running all the Fielding drills at the moment I’m sure he’s good with his energy to have aboard on the coaching staff I asked him about in the middle yesterday I said is this the evolution are are you enjoying becoming a coach he goes I miss playing I want to be playing still but he’s going to play a bit more I think he’ll play for sumers set this summer might be his last year there I think he’s still going to be in in around the franchise league Van maker and who gets out of his over really well having been hit for that boundary from the first ball it’s 47 for three yeah K Klein in good form they’re not finalized those World Cup squads is he going to be The Unlucky One at traveling Reserve maybe well he’s definitely going as the traveling Reserve as we just have a look at some of the fixtures coming up for irand pretty soon I mean just touching on this you’re telling me that last game on the 16th adren I was listening to your Affair you think that’s what most people are calling the one that could be the Trump game for Ireland yeah and and look there’s a huge presumption there that firstly India are going to beat Pakistan which as we saw in other T20 World Cups I know they beat them in 2022 but back in 2021 Pakistan won very comfortably so that’s no given and there’s also no given that you will take that IPL form individually and and through your team into an international setup India only have one warm-up game that’s against Bangladesh on June 1st as Pringle returns to the attack but I think some are speculating they’d expect Ireland to get past USA and Canada I think most Ireland fans will tell you they will not take those games for granted Ireland have a pretty poor record against Associates over the years they find ways to lose games against lower ranked opposition and then beat higher ranked opposition but that’s kind of the potential makeer of the group I can’t see Canada getting through but I could see USA causing an upsetter too yeah interesting looking forward to all of that I mean so many different permutations with 20 teams going this Edition that has absolutely been bombed for six what a lovely shot from Kea Pringle was brought back into B the ninth overcooks this one lul tossing he’s hit that into the bleachers well it’s actually I think it’s gone on the Athletics track this is gone miles he’s hitting with the wind and that’s the one thing we haven’t mentioned yet it’s gone a long long way it’s still running down the 100 met track we saw Usain Bolt announced as one of the ambassadors for that T20 World Cup will need to send a bolt out to get after him there’s a really strong wind Club records he holds yeah holds a lot of Dutch records came back back over many years in the ‘ 80s 90s and and was one of the figureheads of Dutch cricket and I sure it’s a very proud moment to see his boy back in the orange shirt for this series he’s not got his length rout at all here gets away with that one Tucker misses out another full toss not the best over the ninth is done it’s now 58 for three it’s a big game for for Tim Pringle as well coming back into line he plays cre for Northern districts in the New Zealand but AR and dut obviously rested for you’d have to say rested for this one you wouldn’t assume dut would have been dropped for this one only rest because they’re trying their combination that was very impressive you say four overs none for 21 very good with the new ball they gave Pringle the new ball this one so I still think Netherlands also keeping an eye on this world cup and what their best combination might be I wonder is it a case of matchups of they looked at the Irish lineup they’ve seen that there’s no left-handers in it certainly Neil Rock is the one option he’s not on the team today grem Hume is not here also BS left-handed down the order but believe somebody in Ireland will tell me immediately on Twitter if I’m wrong or something but I believe all 11 batters for Ireland today all right-handed which is very rare historically for Ireland going back Harry Tor came in and hit a six from one of his first deliveries markad there I think twice in the series hit his first ball for four it’s this new mantra it’s a very positive mantra sometimes it can bring about clusters of wickets though as well yeah I guess the sort of the English way from a few years ago when they sort of redeveloped the white game as trickled into maybe some other nations but we’re seeing a me with the IPL the scoring go through the roof I think a lot of expectations in T20 cricket you’ve got to get on with it for the whole 120 balls uppercut and not where he intended and bazala does what bazala does so brilliantly he makes a very difficult catch look easy and this wasn’t at all the breakthroughs come from nowhere and camper has to go a brilliant catch from Buster later into the side today he made good ground one of the better fielders here in the Netherland Squad he tried to uppercut it over third it’s sort of in a half of the bat and he made good ground we take the drinks break and score 65 for four I think there’s still a ball of the 10th left how brilliant is that to see Dutch Cricket on television during the Cricket World Cup last year domestic television and now this series being broadcast not just with us on YouTube and and around the world but on Dutch TV I think it might be on a on a on a streaming platform but with the language driving the commentary so good to see yeah it’s very important I think for the growth of cricket in this country and all these other associate sort of nations in Europe that want to grow the sport to have the natural language so we’ve got Dutch TV have picked up the the cricket as well Dutch commentary on another Network which is fantastic I know they did this two years ago on zigo sport as well and it’s just another step in the right direction the national team’s growing at such a rate we need to get more to the public eye to get more Cricket fans and more cricket players in the country you’ve lived here a long time what are the kind of questions you you get domestically because I know the profiles never been bigger I saw during the World Cup itself there was a lot of interest in interaction with how well the Dutch team were performing what questions do you get do they understand the sport I think it’s the what the team’s achieving at the moment is giving it more eyeballs but still you’re trying to get into a public that doesn’t truly know the ins and outs of cricket but credit to the men’s Nation credit to the Women’s National team as well who are doing really good things and it has got more eyeballs more attraction more kids are playing than ever hopefully the next generation of superstars the next pass delayer might be coming through one ball left in the 10th dock roll it will be at number six and his role that he loves to play for Ireland finisher role but he’s in earlier than he would have liked he likes five or six overs in these t20s halfway stage of the first innings for me the Dutch are much more than 57% favorites right now Ireland need to go somewhere to get a defendable score 65 for four the score look this is what they are all warming up for but it’s not just warm up along the line here but the Big World Cup just around 20 Nations and I know that must mean a lot for yourself L as well I know you cover a lot of crick in around the globe 20 Nations finally a big event for Cricket has expanded to this amount how does that make you feel does it give you a nice little tingle well you’re going to you’re going to Sledge me but I’ve just got the Goosebumps running up my arm because about time it’s taken far too long for me to us to expand to the point at which the associates deserve and the sport deserves the best stories in our game for me by a distance they’re not in the IPL they’re not in ashes they’re not in the bilaterals they’re in the associate game that the stories of sacrifice the journeys that players take to go on to represent their Nation or their adopted Nations the sacrifices that players and their families have made to go and chase their dreams to play against the very best players in the world I’ve always thought we’ve got the most brilliant sport in the world but sometimes we don’t tell people about it this world cup is a chance to do that and we’re going to be live across ental Europe and iccv I think that’s in almost every part of Europe maybe with the exception of the UK and Ireland that’s a great Innovation too and I’ll tell you something I’ve stake my reputation on it which isn’t worth much as you know you only on me a couple of days but I think there’s not just going to be one associate win at this world cup over full members I think we’re going to see multiple associate beating full member occasions at this world cup which will be some of the big stories of the tournament yeah absolutely they usually grab the headlines those big upsets oh that’s a gorgeous SL sweep it’s one of Tucker’s very favorites again tactical strategic hitting with the wind that’s piling across the ground picks it up lifts it out towards the athletic track six more as you mentioned that breeze is going from you you saw it from side on there he got that stable base he’s a very very strong man he’s done a lot of gym work actually these two in particular really transformed their bodies when they first came to international cricket George dooll was a a young 17-year-old left spinner he was lanky as and skinny as could be he’s added about 15 kog in muscle Tucker the same he’s really powerful hits the ball really really hard this is a good start to this fourth fifth Wicket partnership for AR they badly need it this one’s kept low and dorham’s convinced so too is Edwards with the ypar is unmoved what’s injury he had has meant that this is his first T20 ey for I think about 18 months quite some time he was quite prevalent in the Super League he came over and played England and all the big 50 over games and then unfortunately wasn’t back on the shores for quite some time as that was a lovely exquis St but might have found the Fielder and he’s going to have to go Tucker well he got a life probably in the previous over it could have easily been lbw Pringle slows this one up slightly it was a nice looking Cricket strike but he finds vicam jet Singh had a deep Long off you can see tooker just Shadow batting he wanted to go Square he was looking to go over Extra cover he’s just dragged it a touch isn’t he maybe he got cramped for room or something a bit of a look now no he didn’t get cramped for room he just ended up going much straighter than he intended he’s given this one away good catch very well judged by vicam jet Singh the Dutch are finding that very happy Knack of continuing to take wickets it’s Tucker who is the latest one to go moments after having that very close lbw go his way he’s gone for 40 his good form continues but he’s gone now and Ireland continue to be in trouble 78 for five it’s Gareth Delaney coming out now plenty of time in these batting Innings to build a partnership and to explode at the end Pringle does pick up that Wicket he would have been searching for probably stems a few nerves first game for the national side in quite some time we’ve touched on this long batting lineup from Ireland don’t count them out just yet they’re a very strong Nation have come a long way previous 10 to 15 years any score of above 150 on this surface the big long boundary is will play one ball remaining pring Scott Edwards does change his Bowers quite often be interesting to see who comes on from the city end bu later moves into slip yeah good positive captaincy like to see that Gareth Delaney’s best match up if you go by the analytics is against left arm spin really likes murdering that down the ground I think the way the wind is coming though as we get to the end of the 12th 78 for five I think if you’re going to go down the ground it needs to be well it might be swirling a touch there we’re just trying to work it out but I’m not sure you want to hit the way L can Tucker just hit I think you’ll get better reward for me I think it’s coming across the ground and a little bit down so if anything Tucker’s gone sort of uphill into the wind a little bit and that’s why he ended up perishing there is batting to come often these men towards the middle and lower have to rescue Ireland they have to do it again today what sort of score do you think that Ireland from this position Ling eight overs to go 785 what’s a a realistic score they’d be happy with coming off from here I think if they could get to 140 that they’ probably take it from this position it wouldn’t have been what they would have wanted at the start but that would be 60 62 or 48 sort of thing yeah that’s kind of going at eight and over with five wickets in hand but one things for certain these two in particular well exit of Paul Sterling you could make a case here in the Netherlands how good is the associate game for you I think it’s come on lepes and Bounds it and for for yourself as we were talking about 20 teams at the World Cup I get that tingle as well to see a world cup where more associate nations are finally getting invited a team like Uganda who upset Zimbabwe out in uh Namibia it was and to to get that win to win a ticket it’s just massive for the game and the way it’s growing so fast it just think it brings everyone to Parry puts more eyeballs on the sport I know the Spanish system is getting better and better and better and an exciting time to be involved and I’ve got Dutch grandparents myself so I came back to basically my homeland and to be involved to watch how much these players have grown in the last few years is very exciting they’re going on the same trajectory I think Irish Cricket has been going on in the last 10 to 15 years Ireland were the leading associate to become a full member Netherland Scotland they’re not that far away to be honest no I think I think it’s a really good show because the thing that brought Ireland to test status it wasn’t just the vision of the organization and driving towards that it was the performances on the pitch there’s onfield and off field that you have to tick but the onfield stuff was ticked so heavily by because of their domination of the associate game in 2013 there was the treble for them there will the eyup there is no iup at the moment 4day competition 50 over competition which was the world cricket league championship at the time and they also won the T20 World Cup Global qualifier too so they really made strength of a case and then they combined that alongside the Ascension of Afghanistan the growth of Afghanistan for to take the political box of one Asian Nation one European nation coming in to join the full member Club I think if it happens again that will need to be something similar probably be one Asian Nation obviously lots of people are talking about Nepal but also the UAE and Oman are doing really really good things the three best Asian Associates and then maybe a Scotland or a Netherlands or who knows a Namibia could go alongside them and really join together to maybe be the next two test Nations big thing for me the game’s never been stronger in more countries that can only be a good thing yeah it can only be a good thing in there you would have seen that as well I’m sure a lot of the kids coming out see they’re Irish Stars they want to be the next Paul Sterling or they want to be the next Irish star in the next 10 to 15 years very exciting time for everyone’s getting himself in a bit of bother here against van makr but he does get down the non striker end difficult start for the two former lster Cricket Club contracted players in and around Dutch Cricket I here in the Netherlands for more of the year than ever before it’s about seven months of the year they’re trying to keep them here I think for the first time in Dutch Cricket more players than ever been contracted High contracts ABC and then high performance contracts so even players that might not be in the starting 11 is starting to be looked after more healthy and the expectation is that if you’re playing for Holland we want you in the country more instead of just flying in every now and then and there’s so many positives that you can have with that keeping your group together as another overs complete 83 for 6 or 6 for 83 after 14 keeping the team together it means a lot I think it really means a lot instead of only seeing people a couple of months or just in round tour they’ve got a really good summer Squad and they have winter squads as well and these guys are training four five days a week now together and you just see the benefits of it and that’s going to be their fixtures at that T20 World Cup coming up starting with well for me it’s going to be one of the fixtures of the tournament isn’t it brilliant to be thinking that we’re talking about two ass has been one of the standout clashes that everyone’s looking forward to the sold out game in Grand Prairie in Texas quite close to Dallas and then of course that one that will follow at Netherlands against South Africa the Dutch will be favorites for that surely the way they’re going they probably are South Africa are probably thinking oh no but you have look at that tour for the Dutch Dallas New York St Vincent the grenades and St Lucia pretty good tour for that one and if they get through which they’ve done recently could be a very good Dutch World Cup again return into the attack for Vivian Kingman now I don’t know who did their schedule but they’re the only one of the 20 teams to go to four different venues and in fact they’re in three different countries of course I heard that from a couple of players and I think they were pretty pleased with that so they they did get a pretty good draw but I think also looking at that group a lot of people saying oh three full members if you ask the Netherlands and you said South Africa Sri Lanka and Bangladesh they’ve been South Africa Bangladesh recently and they’ve pushed Sri Lanka a couple of times so that group’s wide open me and don’t count discount napole Paul they coming on Leaps and Bounds also yeah it’s such a funny group isn’t it because the Netherlands could easily lose that opening game to Nepal then they’re on all sorts of trouble but if they could win it then they’re really in a strong position to upset the apple cart yet again I’d really fancy the Dutch to beat Bangladesh I think that’s kind of one of the the highest percentage chances of an associate versus a full member kind of being turned over and then Sri Lanka I’d worry a bit more about that the Brilliance of hasaranga in particular on what could be turning wickets to that’s the big probably the thing that we don’t know and it’s hard to group it all into one because Texas is going to be different to Florida to the drop-ins up in New York and then all of the Caribbean venues are very very very different some of them have good pace and bounce others turn a lot so it’s hard to know how to set up your squad and and set up your team and what matchups you’re going to expect but Sri Lanka’s Spinners K Shana hanga against the Dutch I think that for me would make Sri Lanka big favorites yeah they will probably keep Sri Lanka definitely ahead i’ saying the favor think when you at thatth Africa and Bangladesh Nethers with the system they’ built will go over there very confident as Scotland with the systems they’ve built I think there’s never been a a bigger opportunity for all three teams in this Tri series actually all to break through into the Super race slower ball picked and clubbed down the ground just one weight they believe they truly belong and that belief of saying we’re not associate we deserve the name to be there with you that belief has just flipped things and they’re just putting out young players playing in that and yeah I suppose it’s just about kind of making Cricket more accessible and opening up to new audiences nontraditional Cricket playing audiences really clever from could actually see him pick up the ball off the ground so yeah that that SP Sports m in the first degre it looked like K was it’s going to be Third Time Lucky on the full tosses let’s see if he can find the pitch here this is really good batting Adair and Delaney combining effectively for the seventh Wicket Ireland finishing with a real flourish 150 very much on the cards now and it’s mainly thanks to these two and how about the outstanding power here from marad off the back foot to generate that pace I wouldn’t say it’s it’s a very fast pitch but he punched that off the back foot through Extra cover read no chance for the fielders yeah great credit to to Max OD In the Heat of battle he can easily do something you regret he did exactly the right thing lovely Spirit of cricket on show they all know each other very well these three European sides but aare the Cameo is turning into more than that now look at this brilliant batting it’s not just par he possesses it’s touch two it’s going to be consecutive boundaries again King is Going the Distance in his fourth and final he doesn’t seem to have an answer yeah all happening in the 19th for Ireland they’re kicking in the tail aren’t they and this is a bit of panach to go with the power of earlier in the over from marad Kingman decides to kind of follow him he made a little bit of a pre-movement outside the off stump it’s almost like a dare was couple of steps ahead and deflects that one away nicely for four it’s another one that Daniel dorham has managed to not get anything on beats his dive real pressure on kingma this over is going round the par finally gets one into the block hole sixth time lucky if you will but it’s a very expensive over and it gives Ireland a real platform into the 20th 150 on the cards 160 don’t rule that out either with the left arm spinner to bowl it’s 139 for six I suppose one of the ideas maybe of bowling Pringle from this end is that if you are going to hit him kind of straight or hit him to to midwicket then you’re you’re going to be hting into the teeth of the breeze so that might be something to do about it identical figures for dor and Van M there to for 27 wickets also for Pringle and kingma Van Bank also doing a very good job the most economical of the bowlers conceding only 22 of his four over spell that last over coming up and it will be Tim Pringle to baller and Vivian kingma goes for 17 off the 19th over it’s the biggest over of the Innings it’s just the fifth double digit one of the Innings and well I would not be surprised if we have a here because Adair and Delaney if they could have designed a match up that they would have liked it would have been left arm spin in the 20th and final the only Advantage Pringle has that wind it’s coming diagonally across the ground so if they are going to go straight down the ground they’ll be kind of hitting into a cross head Breeze yeah that’s right yeah it’s also the first over the Innings it’s had three boundaries in it so won’t be too happy about the way things worked especially there was a missed opportunity in there here’s the 20th brilliant batting don’t think this is a good call from Scott highest score it’s another misfield from dorham you won’t believe it he has had a shocker of a day in the field that’s the third if not the fourth for me that should have been stopped instead it’s four more yeah doram at the moment he’s proper throwback isn’t he I know he’s compared to Roger Harper with his bowling action yesterday maybe the Fielding not quite the same unfortunately this is one probably should have been kept in the infield and what a a time to bring out the reverse as well once again kind of going with the breeze tries it again this time no luck but the Netherlands leading in this game still but only by whisker now with this this fight back from Ireland at the back end of the Innings critical dot that time for Pringle as D tried to repeat the dose he’s trying to hit with the wi that’s why he’s trying to reverse sweep big appeal this time the finger goes up a dare just shy of what would have been the third international 50 to go alongside those Innings at Lords and the gra up in Edinburgh last summer but 49 off 24 a fine contribution as Pringle get some relief yeah Pringle goes straight kind of takes the gamble against the sweep shot this time the regulation sweep but beats the bat looks pretty out to me I suppose the the curse of the non half centuries occurs again Matt cross we saw it yesterday say he was out for 49 but I think Adair given the game situation will be pretty happy he don’t have the best angle there but it’s hard to see what it was missing hit him well back as well but what a great Innings from marad we’ll see more of him in the second half of this game no doubt right now he leaves with two balls remaining Island 149 for 7 and out comes Big Barry McCarthy to the crease he will tell you that he hits the biggest ball in the whole Irish team I don’t think his Irish teammates believe that but he’s certainly not shy of confid he’s got two balls to prove himself right doesn’t he well where he tends to like to go is kind of long on to K corner there is a big gap between long on and deep midwicket that might be where he’ll look at but going straight down the ground won’t be easy he’ll just get a single skewed off an Inside Edge probably not a bad result 150 comes up for Ireland it looked incredibly unlikely throughout the vast majority of those first Innings but they have something for their Bowlers to defend I know you were doubting the capabilities of AI but really the the computer never had Ireland well out of this contest did they I think many Irish fans did for almost all of that first Innings the dominated at least 75% to it last ball of the first Innings and Gareth Delany May well have picked out the man at long off because of that wind it’s a big swing isn’t it difficult to hit uphill into it and the risk the gamble to Bow the left arm spinner in the 20th and final it’s not too costly in the end two wickets fall in it and Delaney perishes yeah they kind of had to go for it nothing to lose really kind of went for what he thought was his best shot took on the wind in L so Delaney will go and that’s the end of the 20 overs 150 for8 isand just looking at the splits they were 65 in the first half of the Innings they were 85 in the second you can see the fight back pretty impressive as well considering that they had had a lost six wickets in the first 14 overs or so that really influential partnership for the seventh Wicket of 64 got them back on the right track and ultimately we think it’s about to pass score 150 let’s go back and have a look at some of the highlights here from the first 20 overs of match two with the Irish being sent in certainly in a bit of early trouble with three very early wickets putting them on the back foot yeah they got themselves into real trouble early and being honest with you there was a couple of injudicious shots like that one from Andy B Bernie but it was mainly due to the Excellence and the accuracy of the Dutch Bowlers thought they were really really nice the way in which their seamers and their Spinners affected combined dorham well he’s taken to a second career in international cricket like a duck to water two big wickets for him Sterling and tector yeah no doubt but I think it also shows that the touring bats they haven’t really come to terms with this pitch so far and perhaps a few balls stopping in the pitch a few skinning on and it’s hard to tell what’s going to do what suppose when you don’t use the pitch bad things are going to happen we saw a bit of over pitching didn’t we from the Dutch at certain times a lot of those did get put away but I got to say I did enjoy the batting of Tucker 40 off 30 it was pretty important in turning things around five fours and their six in there that was a great catch by B toer wasn’t it out on the point boundary to get camper but really come the second half of the Innings isand kind of found another gear fought back to to essentially put on a pretty competitive title it’s going to be something that the Dutch batters will have to think of hitting in that direction towards the paddock end will not be easy good skills from Paul Van maker and bouncing out George dockle another a strong area of his viian kingm well he got dispatched towards the third and fourth overs his Innings I think the Dutch need to think about bowling him three up top with the new ball cuz he’s nowhere near as good at the dep as he is at the start yeah it’s really good in point a good point you made I suppose he didn’t take the last week last night but he wasn’t just a little bit off I think still hitting more of an early early Innings length at times and when he is going for the or they over pitching this one was a nice kind of slice straight down the ground for four and maker and then rolled the dice with a short wall and paid the price as that was a late boundary Yeah you mentioned that that 19th over we say it all happens in the 19th in T20 Cricket kingma going for three boundaries including uh this moment as well in the 19th where odan put down a chance then we saw two more boundaries come after that so I suppose they do pay a little bit maybe without that you’re looking more the 140 the 150 does look a little bit more but certainly game on here in match too yeah I think maybe honors even in fact Ireland might quite fancy their chances of Defending that total nine bound in from Arad he was the star of the show wasn’t he he was helped by the occasional misfield I think Daniel dorham had a day to forget in the field although he was brilliant with the ball and Tim Pringle got two late wickets in the last over to make his fingers look a lot better with three for 32 it may well be honor even at the halfway stage yeah dorm in the last he’ll be a little bit upset with that classic outset of the riddle what happens when a tree falls in the woods but unfortunately we were all here to see it let’s have a look at the scorecard Island sent in by Duck Skipper Scott Edwards to put 150 for8 on the board Mar Adair batting in the number eight position mention he’s an insurance policy he certainly is a very good one that paid out there 49 of 24 out late in the piece 40 for L kaker batting in number three position no one else able to exceed 20 for Ireland just the 3x was pretty disciplined bowling even though maybe those full tosses late in the piece turned out to be a bit costly for the Dutch Bowlers but lots of good performance there for the home nation yeah I think for the butters certainly disappointment or three people getting in in terms of Sterling and indeed B ber alongside him and camper and then getting out getting to double figures and getting out but the wickets were shared around eight in total everyone baring Logan van series The Host Netherlands taking on Ireland and Scotland This Week final prepar preparations for the T20 International World Cup in the West Indies in USA in just a couple of weeks time v s here Mr Maximo for ecn on a sunny Sunday afternoon and joining me once again for the chase is Andrew lard 150 exactly for Ireland after being sent in in match two pretty evenly points I’d say at halim well when Ireland were 83 for six with one ball left of the 14th over I don’t think they would have believ they could have got up to 150 but thanks to marad there and a nice little flourish to alongside him from Gareth Delaney with 19 49 the start of the show though marad there off just 24 balls just one run shy of what would have been a third T20 i50 they have to open the bowling there of course too and alongside a good contribution from L and Tucker the man on your screen who made 40 off 30 deliveries has given Ireland life in this game I don’t think they’re ahead but I think if they bowl and field well it could just possibly defend this total it’s interesting out of all the opening batters we’ve seen so far in the series we’ve seen six of them lit’s the only one to really be able to take the game on and win early and so let’s see if he can come out hit them similarly to how he did yesterday was was very impressive and I’m not sure how much Ireland will have seen of Michael levit in terms of their playing Personnel I know Scot IR will have crunched all his numbers and he’ll probably have watched every ball he’s at a flying start at the international game what can he do against markad been in great form domestically Cory Rooker has been telling us all about that and I think if anything the Dutch they look comfortable and confident in their position they’ve done the business in the first half despite that good finish from Ireland they should be confident to chasing this down yeah I think so and especially we talked a lot about the fact that they have experience on this this pitch and R experience they’re just a little bit more comfortable in their own backyard D searching for an early Wicket floating slip in place does find the outside edge but it’s wider Paul Sterling who’s the one catcher in there and good running will’ll get them back for a couple I know we’ve said it a few times Vin he but a big shout out to the vorberg team there’s got to be over a thousand fans in here they only found out about this series about 10 days ago when it was switched across from Amsterdam it’s a brilliant facility run by great people what a lovely Community here yeah definitely and I might even be a slightly bigger crowd than yesterday now being a Sunday I don’t think there’s as many the local cricketers that have Club commitments on a Sunday compared to a to a Saturday there just been a lovely atmosphere it’s kind of a family atmosphere but it’s also feels like a pretty learned Cricket atmosphere everyone seems to be very much aware of what’s going on the occasional bottle of beer going there too I think it’s only fair on a Sunday it’s it’s in the culture Al I love the way it’s kind of barded you’ve got the the church in the background you got the the kind of windmill as well on one side you got the trees as well got the canal on one side you got the beautiful Clubhouse here as well the endoor facility the Athletics track it’s a really nice atmosphere in a week I’ll tell you about it in a moment but we’ll be having a very special day here at the VC ground next Sunday that’s going to be okay just inside the guideline the Umpire adjudicates that as being fine so the the kcv finals it one is probably just okay for me stepped away made it look a bit wider than actually was U is next weekend is the kcb T20 finals uh at the club level so the top four clubs in the Netherlands will be playing two semi-finals and then a final next Sunday so three matches from this beautiful venue as well it’s a big day on the the Dutch domestic calendar oh so nearly the first Wicket and a real moment of Fortune for Michael levit it’s the Inside Edge that is saved him the DAR skills with the new ball unparalleled the fan gets a moment to remember levit somehow gets four yeah a little bit of luck there kind of tried to go down the ground pick the wrong line the game is so close never gets the better of the luck sometimes comes out on top could have easily been gone there yeah so next weekend not quite sure if you have the fixtures yet maybe I can ask Cory but we’ll we’ll have the two semis and the final of course the winner of that goes to the European cricket league in 2025 cut away pierces the infield Sterling tries to get something on it then it’ll be Harry Tor and Gareth Delany who have to combine and maybe a little bit of acrobatics the end result will be one run save but that only tells half the story great Fielding from Ireland in the Deep wow classic case of The Three Amigos here and we do spend a lot of time in Spain this is unbelievable Fielding I I think it’s fine you see knocks it up it’s only the first touch that that’s really in question and that looks clean to me and from here there’s no doubt and then you can see takes off inside I mean that’s something that you might see at the Harlem Globe trots never mind a T20 International here in the Netherlands but this is amazing Uno THS th third in line gets the ball we were talking about something a little while ago as we get end the first over nine without loss after one but we were talking about the fact that we would maybe like to see Catch assists come into the game CU now that you see kind of boundary catches often they’re completed by more than one Fielder similarly to how we credit a run out on ecn to the last two fielders touch the ball and uh someone said well why only the last two and I realized I’ve never seen a team patch involved three fielders that wasn’t a catch but it certainly did all three fielders in the action well if that had ended with the run out would have been incredible Barry McCarthy to take the new ball Paddock end he starts down the leg side Tucker does just enough to keep it to just the one y wi that would be signal yeah Harry Tor very fit and fast and agile combined with Gareth Delany and then George Docker you talk about hunting in packs in the field that’s exactly what your coaches would want you to do good work from Ireland McCarthy excited to see him ball he’s balling with the wind at his back as well L faced every delivery so far at the other end maxo down run a ball 30 yesterday but certainly not not the best we’ve seen of him in a dut shirt ke to make him mens today that’s the the ones that have interested me here on these surfaces we haven’t seen any fly through and be taken up above the Keeper’s head really we’ve seen a few skid on and keep a bit low yeah that’s kind of the the male on this pitch as well we tend to talk about it more with the slow Bowlers but I kind of agree we haven’t really seen dangerous looking bounce have we and maybe in a lot of ways it it’s good preparation before you you might see in a place for example like the West Indies which is it’s kind of known for having reasonably slow wickets USA is a bit of a lottery with the drop in pitches that actually come from Australia good tight line from McCarthy he was really missed in in games two and three you were talking about scorecards there Vinnie if you looked at the score card from that first T20 I you’d say oh Barry McCarthy four overs none for 39 did not tell the tale of his day quite remarkable football Style run out where he kicked one onto the Stomps a sensational five run save in the Deep where he stopped a certain six that brought about a wicket from the next ball and then a spectacular catch down at long on he’s a a wholehearted cricketer that really arand they love getting in and around and he’s approaching his 100th cap now for arand just too shy of that I think after today special cricketer good stop this time from dock roll at cover a point and a little bit off with the line early in the over now seems to have settled in probably kind of boed a little bit by that you might want to call it variable bounce or kind of unexpected low bounce ear in the over kind of plays into the Ban’s mind as well it run a ball here through the first over and a half they’ll be looking to just kind of hold their own in the power play Island maybe a wicked or two push that up to kind of 9 and over over all so we could see that the percentage is swinging around good skills from mcarthy that’s the line he likes to ball he’s added a real yard of pace in recent times something he did coming back from an injury identified that his way back into the team was trying to get up towards 140k plus he’s been clocked just above that occasionally when he’s at his very best to bowl there but he’s like that middle overs in forcer rle in the Odis in the t20s he has to bowl tough overs at the top and then at the death as well test debut for McCarthy earlier in the year against Afghanistan of course took a three for a debut there so obviously a player that’s establish himself in the lineup and yeah offers more than what you might see on paper that’s pretty clear really good lines here from McCarthy on that test debut it also was in Ireland’s first ever test victory yeah and for those who watched that game it was the third morning in Abu Dhabi and there was a really stiff breeze from one end of the ground it was very clear that all the sameers are had four same options would want to ball from one end McCarthy stuck his hand up that morning to Bow unchanged nine consecutive overs from the uphill into the wind end I think he got two wickets in the spell but one of them was with that trademark McCarthy Roar in celebration he kind of turns himself into the Hulk he quite literally put his team his Nation on his shoulders that day and actually bowled Ireland to a test match victory at D was the player of the match as this one goes just over the D’s head but it was McCarthy had a huge role to play in that first ever test win for Ireland that many of the players have referred to as their favorite moment ever in the game and it doesn’t doesn’t surprise me at all end of the over here 12 without L half two McCarthy only going for three in that over last ball saw two in Fairly unconvincing fashion from levit this is the table of course with the Netherlands getting over Scotland one 67 to 126 yesterday they head up the table Scotland will see them again tomorrow against the Irish double round robin format team will play Four matches like each of their opponents twice if he is the Hulk he’s certainly wearing the right color isn’t he bar McCarthy he’ll be very happy with that start he’s just got this kind of habit of being involved in big moments not quite a Freddy flintoff character but there’s kind of shades of that to him when he’s good Ireland tend to be good as well Adair in for his second now Mark adir he’s had a brilliant 18 months or so probably longer than that actually 24 30 months in in international cricket B Bernie with the Fielding Ireland’s Fielding outside of the the three k critical drop catches against Pakistan it’s been much better over the last little while too but the Dutch just three extras in that first Innings they did a lot of things right with the exception of those misfields from Daniel dor yeah that’s true uh perhaps King m didn’t quite hit his spot I think he had a very good point about bowling him three in the power play if it’s working don’t change it the other option would be maybe two in the power play then let him bow the seventh which is is sometimes seen as one of the easier overs to bowl I a lot depends on if he gets away with his first if he Bowls two and four and he could Bowl the seventh maybe even the eighth so he can stay at the same end often we’ll see teams going to spin at the end of the six although we have seen the duck use using spin a bit earlier opening with Arend yesterday opening with dorham today but uh yeah pretty even contest here’s nose in front but feel like they’re a couple of wickets away from getting back to par and certainly all of a sudden that 6040 feel to the game is very much in play isn’t it OD had a very turgid stay at the crease yesterday no initial signs that that’s going to be any different today 30 off 30 you look at a score card you think oh second highest score in the Innings but that doesn’t really tell the tale of the day and especially when you consider that he has been one of their Premier for performers over the last last three or four years in the orange shirt but it is still I suppose reasonbly early in the in the European season at least not going to read too much into one performance does have an interesting kind of almost baseball like setup doesn’t he though Max odow he’s made his own Inside Edge again and lit once more fortunate to survive irelander just keeping things tight keeping things simple applying some pressure to the Dutch early yeah that style that odad has the only one in world cricket I can think it’s similar as actually Gareth Delaney yeah that’s a good point I suppose he’s very still and that’s something that you see sha Marsh not quite the same but also a player that kind of would would start with a bat horizontal gr G was another one going back but nothing quite like the kind of angles you see from Max that one might have just kept out a little bit as well from a that’s an off cutter good skills from Air showing them all off yeah I’m so happy to see Gareth Delany back batting with fluency lovely shots in the crowd here Andy Valour it’s off camera but he’s in the crowd signing some Dutch shirts Irish very much getting into the spirit of this Festival feel to the game but delany’s return to form is just so important important Vinnie because he had a a real difficult patch where his technique was questioned he tried to tweak it but he’s gone back to what he knows now he’s bading as well as he ever has he’ll have a role to play too with his leg breaks today yeah beat yourself I suppose what gets you so far as the Netherlands still fairly quiet so far it’s 14 without loss after three yeah there is something special about this ground I know it’s only my second day here but rapidly tur into one of my favorite International venues I think the other thing the kcb deserve credit for playing these games at 5:00 p.m. local time just makes them really accessible yeah I think you’re exactly right no mistake in the Netherlands they they’re playing the Saturday and Sunday fixtures here imagine a lot of the cricket lovers that can do they’ll be here tomorrow night to watch the island versus Scotland match first time the two visiting Nations will lock horns got the the rest day Tuesday before we pick it up Wednesday Thursday Friday this pitch will be used for 3 days and then it’s likely we’ll move strips for uh the fourth fifth and sixth matches that one about three or four pitches to the left big moment here funand gets a first Bowl in international cricket in quite a while he’s had real moments of Brilliance since he’s burst onto the scene he was then being left out and sometimes it can be difficult to find a way back in but Ireland of later playing more and more wolves Cricket he was actually the player of the series for the Irish wolves in their one of the two Series win they had against the Nepal a team in KATU recently so he’s forced his way back in he started really nicely he will be chomping at the bit Vinnie he knows how massive an opportunity this is two or three good performances here he could be on a plane to the USA and the Caribbean yeah no doubt about it I’m sure he recognized it I’ve got to ask you about that irland wolves in the Nepal series what was that like for you I mean you have a special affinity for Nepal I know we’ got a lot of Nepali viewers here as well obviously that must have been very very special for you ah look it was Mana from Heaven I was kind of involved initially in the discussions trying to get the two boards together at first we were hoping for it to be a senior V senior series as this goes a long way up now there’s a man back there Curtis CER not going to be able to get there but he does brilliantly well might have created a runout opportunity too oh Sensational Fielding never quite going to be catchable but he nearly turned it into a runout chance two runs to the total he did and was a bit of a gamble for the second run here trying to make something happen almost kind of had to throw against his momentum which was still very sideways but aggressive running there from levit he does get back for the double you could almost see the panic in levit sprinting for the second where he realized could be in trouble here if the throw was right on target might have been a chance throwing into the wind though was the challenge so yeah that tour was was very special it ended up being a a wolv side which is the RSA team to to play two games against the full Nepal side which Nepal they to be honest they absolutely hammered the Rish wolves team but then the a VA team games were exceptional really closely played and even though Ireland won both series Neal had plenty of good moments too and I just love the way I was a bit nervous about the boys going over I was hoping they’d love it as much as I do and every single one of them fion in particular who did a lot of Vlogs he’s worth a follow on the gram if you’re on there he really took Nepal into his heart this time slapped away standard deliver from levit four to the total very good shot very very good shot and he has been offing a bit of with there hand hasn’t he so far we saw him win the battle with the tram line the ball before this time standing deliver from levit goes up and over that cover in the circle you can see hand there kind of willing the Fielder to get up off the ground but that was always heading over for four it’s interesting what you said about the eight teams locking horns and of course Cory was talking about the pro series and building that bridge between Club cricket and international cricket it’s uh it’s something I think the all countries are in a unique situation they have to try and find their own solution obviously the chance to travel internationally is is very important as well to see how local players handle different conditions eny over here right now Netherlands 20 without loss after four yeah it’s it’s not just the travel it’s the the exposure to different conditions and you know for irand to go out and face so much spin like they did in Nepal they weren’t facing big 6’5 dut man coming in and bowling faster them they’re facing mainly Nepali left arm Spinners and plenty of skills with them too so there’s been a bit of talk in Irish Cricket over the last three or four years about the the Darth and the lack of wolves Cricket but there’s been a real move towards getting more more of it there was an emerging team side that went out to the Caribbean in October November and now a West Indian team will come to Ireland this summer to play against a similar side and the Wolves of that great tour of Nepal as Barry McCarthy will change ends again another one just keeping a wee bit low how’s this one miss Vinnie yeah just maybe a little high a little bit outside off but see odow wasn’t really in a great position to play that to play that early T20 World Cups but what a match well appreciated by all around the ground here at VCC incredible Innings from Tim Pringle 35 off 13 we spoke at length about how none of the Dutch batters none the Irish batters really apart from a dare were able to score right from the off we’ve seen an alltime classic here in the lighton warberg anyone at this ground they’re not going to forget that match it was an absolute cracker fan deserves a real mention I we spoken about him already he was exceptional himself and air really the difference between Ireland and the Netherlands well the Dutch flag the ball as well as anyone early in his Innings but just kind of lost his lost his had a bad time and there was the Superstar doubling down two catches in the Innings and rosad there making it a big difference so was Delaney wasn’t he outstanding out there as well it was that kind of a game where just both teams I think if they’d lost and obviously in this case it’s the Netherlands they’re looking around saying where could we have got that extra one run that extra two runs from as Dela eventually went need auru rolled the dice straight away he went before he was able to do any damage at all and then with this world class run out of Van bake you really thought that the dut’s goose was cooked especially when the the skipper went down Edwards not being able to connect with his trademark reverse sweep you felt this game was a foregone conclusion but Tim Pringle had other ideas yeah there was four wickets in just three overs in over 16 17 and 18 but then Pringle just turned the game on its head first with that maximum of Barry McCarthy then he pumped one down the ground for four more and so nearly hit the the next ball for six this was only a matter of inches the entire contest really was a matter of inches between Ireland and the Netherlands van maker and really tried his best but he hold out and then the critical two wides allowed Pringle back on to strike he goes bang bang maximum maximum maybe the Dutcher favorites then but the last ball they needed three to win that was the second six again only just there by a matter of inches but aare held his nerve he didn’t even bother with the run out because he knew he didn’t need to do what Stuart fraud did all those years back in Lords the last two overs they both went for 18 but by the barest of margin it was enough for Ireland who win by one run yeah incredible and look if the Netherlands had got over the line by a run there might have been a riot on the streets in Ireland because we had that moment went doubt looked like it was a four it was given a six they had to stick with the original decision uh but I think credit to aare there I think the only way could lost the player of the match for me and I take what you’re saying with fonan but they were already in that position I think with 150 on the board because of ADA in the first place and he held his nerve at the end 33 Thro down opening up the top scorer was in fact Tim Pringle at the end 35 of only 13 balls and as the situation was heating up he was cool as ice wasn’t he but unfortunately couldn’t get over the line delayed it with 32 not too much better the Run of ball for him either nine wides maybe bit on the high side I think from Ireland as well but I think for the most part mentioned the fact they’ve had a few issues defending but they do defend this time even though it’s only just well how do you explain it crazy just crazy playing crazy between these two sides hands figures they stand out in a big way look at that economy rate just 4.5 from him all the other Bowlers took a little bit of tap particularly Mark adir and Barry McCarthy in their final overs both going for 18 but Adair he ended up having the last laugh from that very final delivery we’ve seen another alltime Classic this is why these three sides and many more should be playing more and more often like Paul Sterling called for at the toss they serve up brilliant Cricket that ends up being so so competitive and right now it’s just one run that’s ended up as the difference and for some of the fans there’s certainly been high drama High emotions it’s all happening out in the crowd a one-run victory for Ireland the end of the tail of the tape the player of the match it surely has to be Market there doesn’t it 49 off 24 special mention for luren Tucker as well who continued his good form and Tim Pringle with three for 32 35 not out off 13 he was the hero for the Dutch but it just wasn’t quite enough for them well gives us an opportunity to welcome you into the box for the last time I’ve got to say that we’re kind of a little bit brought back to life aren’t we after it looked like that game was only going one way we saw 1% only for the Netherlands that shows you one is better than none at one point it read 0% that was before the two oids they they started maybe my best comment of the day that I saw in the chat was Pringle once you pop you can’t stop and he really did you know with the game on the line produce some incredible hitting how frustrated he would be that he couldn’t get that last ball p a there if it does potentially we’re looking at it to they would have been off straight away looking for the double potentially we’re looking at a super over that would have been something pretty special who knows maybe we’ll get one we still got four more chances the series I tell you my thoughts Vinnie on the opening two days are that these are three very very closely matched sides I wouldn’t read too much into the I think it was 4142 run margin of defeat that Scotland went down to in the first game they B back and in many ways they could well have won that game I think they’ll put it up to Ireland tomorrow somehow Ireland have won this game for the vast majority of it the Dutch dominated it but the character that Ireland have show under Paul Sterling f hand in particular Mark there to exceptional performances a brilliant brilliant game of cricket this is why we love the associate game I know Ireland are a test Nation we’re not in spirit and in heart we’re with all the associates brilliant signs and Brilliant scenes for European Cricket yeah and I think that ultimately what you’re going to get at a World Cup is pressure and we saw both teams put a pressure cooker situation here today didn’t we let’s just
