leave that just there because we are underway at the stadio alav is jalta that hosts Scotland in this International Friendly of course Scotland using this as massive preparation for their upcoming Euros game of course playing in the opening night of the Euros 2020 2024 sorry competition against the actual hosts of it all Germany and this is a big opportunity for Steve clar to understand a little bit more of his Squad before he announces the full Squad that’s actually going to the competition is myself Ken graah alongside Nathan wasel and Nathan how we feeling ahead of this one yeah I think all eyes will be on Scotland definitely it will be the second European competition in a row uh for Scotland under Steve Clark so all lies on them and uh yeah like you say you’ve mentioned massive game for uh uh the Scots against the hosts on the first day so um vital game for them need good preps some first team footballers out there so be interested to see how the fair yeah it’s a big opportunity for some of these players as Andy Robertson puts the ball into the penalty it’s been a decent start from Scotland in this one mlan goes out to the right hand side and Scotland just getting a field for this one ball over the top a little bit over hit there and it’s going to go over absolutely everyone and out for a Gibralter goal kick jalter are the host technically in this game despite the game being played in Portugal due to their actual home stadium undergoing a bit of refurbishment I believe but this was a venue that jalta did occupy between 2013 and 2017 so it’s certainly a place there are no strangers to we’ve just seen pictures here of Julio Ras the jalta head coach and I think it’s fair to say he’s wearing the a bit of a different almost approach of outfit for a manager looks like he’s just wearing an actual football shirt there with a a chain as well which you don’t often see on the touch line but it looks like it’s fantastic weather in Portugal so I mean you can’t blame him too much but the the goal kick from jalta went straight out of plat henkins in goal making his first jalter International start the jalter number one today played a couple games in the Europa conference League qualifications this season as well for jalon side and that was up against dun DOL but the Irish side in the end knocked them out of the qualification stage as we’ve just seen Scotland Gathering the ball now coming forwards 2 and a half minutes into this game no real opportunities so far Nathan but as I expected it’s Scotland dominating possession yeah of course they’ll be they’ll be obviously wanting to get a very positive result from this and the most important thing is for them it’s confidence you know they’ve backed against the wall for that first game the crowd will be against them so today it will be all about momentum and all about confidence yeah it’s all about momentum and confidence for Scotland I think it’s fair to say they are underdogs going into their group stages of course it’s two Euros tournaments in a row that Steve Clark’s men have qualified for the finished rock bottom of the group last time and I think it’s fair to say they’re tipped to finish Rock Bottom once again with some real tricky teams in there I mean Germany speaks for itself Switzerland have had a lot of success over the years in terms of how far they’ve actually gone in tournaments of course no actual success leading to silverware but there’s only so much a nation like Switzerland can do and then of course Hungary as well who always seem to step up recently in major tournaments so it’s going to be a real trick one that free kick that’s jial just had has been booted straight out of play by Jamie Walker the jalter captain there andy Robertson who missed a large part of this season through injury for Liverpool he’s the captain for Scotland today he’s just got the player back underway Kenny McLean showing a nice little bit of footwork there a player who’s come off the back of a little bit of heartbreak in the championship playoffs after suffering defeat in the semi-finals to lead United here’s Scotland down the right hand side coming forward good ball into the penalty area well defended and it’s going to be first Scotland corner of the game yeah they’ve done well working it down that right hand side the balling was slightly under hit so Lopez was able to deal with it but it’s all Scotland pressing home that Advantage so far and they don’t seem to be struggling under the uh hot sun in Portugal so far yeah it’s mcrai bombing forward played it right back today just like he did throughout last season for Bristol City every now and then despite being a natural midfielder so that’s one of them where we’ve seen a position change for him throughout the last season or so Billy Gil go short with the corner what can Scotland country up here on the edge of the Box whipped in towards the back post but once again it’s another over hit delivery aiming for Grant Hunley at the back post and we’ve seen two of them now Nathan I think that one this time from Ryan Chris I mean I saw a lot of him for Bournemouth last season I think he was such a almost unrecognized player in terms if he didn’t really get the plaud it he deserved from last season he really stepped up for bouth but we’ve seen a couple over hit Pats over hit crosses should I say sorry in this opening five minutes for Scotland which for Steve Clark will be a little bit disappointed yeah the the intent was there and that they obviously were trying to work something from the training ground when it went short and moved to the edge of the box where it was swung to the back post for Grant Hanley but like you say it’s it’s not the idea that isn’t there it’s the execution and you mentioned uh chrisy he’s he’s normally an out andout Winger but he he moved into defensive Midfield role for Bal FL you say just his hard work went under the radar so uh be interesting to see how he fares this afternoon but it they they need to get better quality on them La them last bit ball just need to get that find a bit of quality it’s over hit again but they have another chance from another Corner yeah another Corner won by Scotland due to the Pressed of shankland it was really poor actually at the back it was Jolly fidget BR was giving away a needless corner just in possession trying to do a little bit too much with the ball and in the end he’s booted it straight out of play and conceded a corner so another decent opportunity for Scotland to load the penalty area Andy Robertson it’s going to be an outswinging delivery whipped into the center of the penalty area man has gone down it’s won by a Scotland player but in the end it’s good goalkeeping from hins it was unclear to see as to who the man that went down for Scotland was and why he went down of course a lot of pushing and shoving we just see a man go down there I’m not sure there’s too much in it there wasn’t a lot of complaints really from Ryan PES there the Watford Center half and ironically this stadium was built for the 2004 euros and of course this game is being hosted by the opening fixture of this upcoming Euros as well Scotland win the ball back down the right hand side it’s going to be Christie now whips it in looking for the front man in the end he gets the header away and I think it was actually Christie who got on the end of the cross it was actually mcrai who put the delivery in the jalta manager there just looking a little bit beused by his side’s defending there but Christie once again probably should be doing that a little bit better yeah it was one of them that it was actually fantastic defensive feder by Christie is he’s gone to F instinctively went to flick it whereas he was better off leaving it because man arriving at the back post was there and the ball looked good um the the ball looked good this time it was just uh his teammate that got in the way of it but Scotland so far 78% possession that tells you all you need to know yeah and uh that what we expect in this game really yeah it’s been a tricky start in this one so far for jalta but also for Scotland in terms of not creating clearcut opportunities like you’d maybe expect coming into this one jalter heavy underdogs for this game 12 straight defeats coming into this one recently had their heaviest ever defeat as a nation and that game was away to France where they lost 14 nil that was about four games ago for them so this is a good opportunity for Scotland to get their shoot in Boots on the likes of shankland I think for shankland this is probably his biggest opportunity to make a name for himself going into that Euros tournament especially with the likes of Lynden Dykes just dropping out of the squad due to injury is confirmed the QPR forward will completely miss the Euros now so there is that extra forward spot up for grabs and you think shankland has got his opportunity to really make that his there’s of course the likes of Shay Adams as well who’s on the bench but they are certainly short on forward numbers only the two recognizable Strikers in the whole Squad today of course jlin starting and Adams on the bench Scotland just trying to build up a little bit of momentum but they’ve lost the ball here but I mean as expected jalta just can’t make it stick up front at the moment here’s Shanklin flicks it on good defending much better defending actually this time FR jalter can they come away with it with a Counterattack you can see the Scotland shirts hounding they’ve won the ball back it’s Christie cuts inside onto his favorite left foot he’s going to go for goal and it’s a decent save in the end from henkins who can only Parry it away for a corner it looks like it was St at him in the end but a save that he certainly had to make but Christie you can see the confidence picks it up darts inside onto his favored left foot and a decent save from the draw keeper yeah it was positive by christe as soon as he got the ball he spun drove at that defense and whipped it with his left foot but like you said it was the shot was a bit too Central and a nice height for the keeper to get down and make a relatively easy save yeah the Conner was whipped in and there was a chance on the end of it as well and once again for Scotland they’ve had a couple of men left down on the deck and it was Andy Robertson once again with a really good delivery and maybe they could have done a little bit better from that one but it was Grant Hanley flying in not marked at all he’s headed just whiskers over the crossbar and I think maybe looking back at that maybe because he’s had to duck down a little bit further than he would have liked but he should probably be hitting the target there he’s done the right thing when you taau him football to head head down into the floor but with a div in header you just use the momentum and power through the ball where he’s headed down with that much power it’s bounced over the top like you say in the position he’s in Just sh the six yard box he should be hitting the target yeah he should be doing a lot better there this Center half but they’ve had a couple well for jalta they’ve had a couple warning signs from set pieces for Scotland they’ve caused a few problems here and there you can tell they’re trying to put them deliveries into the penalty we’ve seen quite a few crosses so far for Scotland but nothing that Shanklin can get on the end of so far Robertson looks to do exactly what I was just mentioning getting that ball in the penalty but it was well blocked by the tracking back dear there of course they thr fre you don’t expect forta to have a lot of the ball in this game which makes it really difficult for them to have any real success going forward because they don’t have a lot of possession that’s a really poor pass from pores that’s well intercepted jalta trying to come forward but once again whenever jalta have a potential attack there’s two red shirts and there’s about seven Scottish shirts chasing back I mean it’s absolutely impossible you kind of feel sorry for sides Nations like R to Wi the facing teams like Scotland they never going to have much of the ball they’re never going to create too many chances but they’re completely running effortlessly giving it a good go here’s Robertson bombing down the left hand side in the penalty area cuts it back and it’s a good cut back and it’s missed in the end and James Forest the Celtic Winger who had a real strong end to The League season in the Scottish Premier League has to be doing better it was a lovely overlapping run from Robertson cut it back perfectly and Forest I mean I’m not sure maybe he’s leaning back at that because that is a massive opportunity that he should at least be hitting the target with everything was right except the finish the flick around the corner down the line by Shanklin was absolutely fantastic the cutback was absolute perfection all he had to do was at the Target yes you’re making these chances and yes you got all obession but against the chances you’ve had against this jalta side with all due respect they should be onew up already because like you say the group they have of course Germany very heavy favorites Hungary can’t be slept on neither can be Switzerland they need to be taking chances like that and get in if to get chances out that against them sort of teams you have to take them yeah of course Scotland keep mentioning have that Euros tournament up coming jalta there’s no surprise they’ve never featured in a major International Tournament since been recognized by Europe’s Gover in body in 2013 so wonder that maybe jalta can see as a real good learning curve coming into this one the facing euro24 opposition aside that within a couple of weeks we’ll be playing on that opening night of the tournament so a good opportunity for Jala to maybe learn more about themselves as a team of course they’ve got whales to come up as well on Thursday night but of course Wales just failed at the last hurdle to qualify for the European championships as we’ just seen it down the left hand side Forest picks up the ball we’ve not actually seen a lot of him just in terms of General buildup play of course he’s had the biggest chance of the game so far for me him and Hanley with two big opportunities maybe on another day Scotland should be one nil up but I guess this is just finding the feat for them big games coming up as well of course Scotland still have to play Finland as well and that game’s going to be on Friday that one’s in more familiar territory at hamen Park and I will be covering that one as well James Forest on the ball goes back to Hanley and they’re just trying to get a feel for this one you are a sense for Scotland Andy Robertson’s being heavily involved down this left hand side here he is bombing forward looks to win something but in the end it’s good defending a bit of confidence in the Play Def from jalta a good footing but they’re just looking after the ball the side playing in red as they tried to clear their lines it takes a unfortunate rebound it’s in the penalty it’s good opportunity for shankland and in the end he can’t catch it well at all jalta once again they’re trying to show a bit of confidence in played out from the back it’s not working it’s a couple of times they’ve been caught out doing so and shankland it’s his first opportunity of the game and I think it’s fair to say with no pun on the name he has really shant it yeah it’s for jalter yeah the confidence and the passing was fantastic but I think they were victim of maybe overplaying it and uh Scotland did really well to win the ball back and I’m really impressed with Scotland’s buildup and their press but what he’s missing in this team is the Finish him because you can see what he’s doing just on the edge of the box trying to wrap his right foot around it and putting the bottom right hand corner but totally miscued it and the finishing so far Scotland has uh not been up to par yeah it’s not been great from Scotland struggling to hit the Target on a few of their attempts the goalkeepers only really been called into one big save so far and that was up against Ryan Christie the Bournemouth midfielder as the referee does just blow up for a free kick for jalta there debba brought down in the middle of the pitch in the end it was Ryan pores no stranger to a fou as someone who’s watched a lot of championship football last season and him for Watford I mean as mentioned no stranger to get in stuck this time dear’s gone down once again but he’s actually offside and 15 minutes into this game and it’s not necessarily been the cracker that we’d have hoped for but I think it’s fair to say naan we didn’t really expect a cracker either no I don’t think so but the Scotland have amounted two or three good chances like you’ve mentioned previous so the signs are there for Scotland but the worrying sign is that they’re not taking them so I I believe this is only going one way you know it’s it’s it’s very hard not to say that of course Jala see this as a Fant fantastic opportunity because they have nothing to lose so why not just go for it but Scotland need to start taking some chances yeah decent ball into the back post from Robertson was one at the back post via MC but in the end he couldn’t keep the ball in play that’s kind of summed up there opening 60 Minutes of this game so far a lot of crosses into the penalty area a lot of just loose legs almost thrown at it in the end and just hoping for the best with no real conviction jalta with the goal kick clear it out to the right back but once again they’ve played into Scotland’s hands Kenny McLean looks to cut it back in the penalty here it’s still there Clips it in towards the back post it’s one at the back post it’s his finish that’s gone just over the bar once again another decent opportunity and once again it’s for Ryan Christie yeah he’s venturing in he’s getting a lot of uh space in them dangerous areas as the ball was LOF and he was picked out absolutely superbly as it goes overhead but he’s hit it on the left full volley just right of the penalty spot and it’s gone flying over the top he put two hands on his face because he has to do better in that position yeah he’s got to do better I was picking him up moments ago I said he had a brilliant Premier League season because he did and what he looked like he’d improved on from previous seasons was his end product was his confidence to bring his side forward because that’s what an Inola side needed that midfielder who can carry the ball and also try create things which is why I’ve been surprised at he’s finishing so far in this game because it hasn’t necessarily been the best so far but there is no surprise he’s been the most involved player for Scotland so far in this one of course Andy Robertson down the left hand side as well he gets so involved in the attacks for a left back but I say for a left back fullbacks are almost just as involved as Wingers these days in attacking Play here’s Forest down the left down side puts the cross in and it rebounds straight back off the Celtic man and goes straight out for a goal kick and as much as Scotland have been wful jalter have been quite poor in possession with how poor jalter have been in recent intern breaks as mentioned 12 straight defeats 17 and a half minutes into this game they’re still nil nil they can take a lot of positives from this so far yeah absolutely um it’s one of them that when you’re heavy underdogs and you won’t you don’t have a lot of possession you need to be good on the ball with the glimpses of the ball you get and unfortunately every time they try and come forward they they tend to give it away so um like you say nothing to lose so go for it but so far it’s all in Jala’s final third really they can’t get out their own half yeah only eight wins in FIFA’s recognized record of Jala’s history I mean eight wins is certainly something drawing nine games and losing 69 of them which is an absolute staggering record and jalta just put a foot in there in the end a free kick has been given against debal there he’s not happy with the referee’s decision it’s just ahead of the half wheel and Billy Gilmore the man that was taken down another player who’s showing a lot of confidence as this season passing on especially through his time at Brighton Des Derby’s almost transformed him into that new confident ball play midfielder it’ll be interesting to see how he fares under a new manager of course unconfirmed who that new manager will be at Brighton but it will be interesting to see who it is that takes over from derer Reign the free kick has been taken short to Andy Robertson Clips it in towards the back post it’s been flicked on by a dbal man and it’s going to go out for another Scotland corner and you can see Scotland they’re trying to load the box every time they’re trying to cross the ball into the penalty area it’s obviously something they’ve worked on yeah there there’s a fair few setpiece routines they’ve got off the training ground and you can respect that and Robinson’s you know he’s got a good cross on him and if anything from that he glided it to the back post and to be fair to J it was fantastically defended as he headed out for a corner yeah it was good defending in the end the corner has been taken short in the end it’s Chris who goes straight back out to the right hand side and can Scotland get this ball straight back into the penalty area they’re just looking after it a little bit which is a bit of a surprise they’ve gone all the way about to the halfway but out to the left hand side John mcin can’t think of too many touches he’s had in this one Clips it towards the back post once again another over hit delivery it was kept in Play It’s been given away by jalter and the attack is still alive down this right hand side but the crossing has not necessarily been perfect for the Scots so far as it’s put back out out to the right hand side where you can see the sun absolutely beaming onto the pitch and Kenny mle did he keep it in I think he’s just almost made that hand signal to his eyes that he couldn’t necessarily see because it is that right hand side for Scotland so far it looks very bright that and with the amount of lofted deliveries that have have been put over maybe they’re just having a bit of struggling on seeing the ball coming over to them because it does go out for a jalta throw and I wonder whether Scotland are playing like this in terms of trying to LOF the ball into the penalty CU Maybe that’s what they’re going to have to know they’re going to have to be doing a lot in the Euros they’re not going to be favorites they’re going to be almost the jalter of their games in terms they’re not going to have a lot of the ball so when they are going forward if they can almost compact that penalty area that’s their best chance of scoring goals yeah that’s a good point that they might actually be you know trial and erroring certain aspects of their game obviously that’s what you use a friendly for in the warm up but they’re they’re anticipating them three big teams that they know they won’t they won’t have the possession so um practicing set pieces and lofting balls into like you talked about Lyndon dyes he’s got an injury you know shankland and Shay Adams in there as well so um maybe he’s just a bit of a trial and error for the for this game yeah it would make a lot of sense because I do look at their matchups and I think maybe their best chance is against the likes of hungry but surely them games against Switzerland and Germany your best chances are probably going to come from set pieces Etc of course Momin not playing today but you think he’s going to be an absolute massive threat with his aerial presence 21 and a half minutes on the clock is still jalta nil Scotland nil which for jalter is an absolutely outstanding scor line so far but it has been all Scotland so far they’ve had some decent opportunities I won’t say there’s been a massive chance but I think forest and Hanley probably should have done better with a couple of theirs and that right idea looking in behind from Billy Gilmore in the end intercepted well and that defensive line from jalter have to say has looked a lot more improved from recent International breaks and Scotland just just finding that little bit of struggling sense to really get through the back line so far and I think it’s fair to say that the jalta manager will be happy with what he’s seen so far yeah absolutely the there’s 10 men behind the ball have sent they leave one forward but it’s a very stubborn organized defense so we talk about wasted chance of Scotland yes they’ve had chances but we’ve got to give our flowers to jial as well because they’ve done a they’ve done a fantastically well on defending and and especially set pieces we talked about we’re just going to see drinks break for how hot it is caring you yeah just a drinks break coming up now and there is no surprise as I mentioned it looks like the sun is absolutely beaming in Portugal we were saying just before I kick off myself in Nathan it’s not a bad destination to be playing international friendlies for a few Scots going on holiday traveling watching their team I guess going to Portugal it’s not a bad place to be ending up absolutely not yeah it’s uh gorgeous place to say they were going to go to jbr which isn’t the worst place in the world no but to say you’re in the algar it’s Absolut Gorge part of Portugal so um good bit of warmup for them as well because it should be hot when it goes to Germany for the Euros in in a fortn night’s time so and they do right to get a drinks break and get themselves on board we talked about um Scotland’s team they’ve got a few missing but they have got a fairly strong bench uh at their disposal as well Scotland they’ve got some good names on there you know they’ve got the veteran Craig Gordon and Liam kuber Adams uh Scott McKenna McGregor and Kieran Tini so they’ve got a good score Scotland I won’t count them out in the Euros but they they are up against it but they need to be taking their chances we’re just saying on our screens the chances they had and it should be two or 3 n right now to be honest yeah there’s definitely been a couple where have expected Scotland to have done a lot better I was quite intrigued coming into this one looking at just looking at jalter’s number eight 17 years age James scanland plays his football for Manchester United under 18s and you don’t often see a lot of gibralta Internationals come through with that pedigree of Youth Development and playing for a club like Manchester United so it’s certainly an exciting one it’s his first ever jalter start he made a couple of appearances for jalter in their last International bre all just minor ones off the bench and say they’ve got a a Manchester United midfielder at the age of 17 born in 2006 by the way which is absolutely mental to be represented in your own country at that age but that drinks break is over now but unfortunately we haven’t seen too much of scanland so far it is so difficult for a player like that to Showcase his talents in a side like this that don’t necessarily have a lot of the ball there is a couple international friendlies coming up later on this evening as well England hosting Bosnia at St james’ park that’s highly anticipated one ahead of the Euros hearing that a couple interesting starts for that when EZ is expected to make his first start for England but the play is back underway now as Scotland are on the attack in the penalty area Forest on the edge plays a nice ball into it it’s Ryan Christie looks back for Forest but once again it’s a penalty area that’s just hounded by red shirts and credit to jalta defensively as pus gives away another foul but credit to jalta defensively because they’ve stuck to the guns they’ve stayed strong they’ve held their own line and they’ve been putting in the challenges when necessary yeah they’re sitting very deep so they have joy Scotland getting themselves into the area nice one two I believe it was forest and shankland but as they got it into feet in the Box as he spun to take a shot there was that stubborn red wall once again so credit to jalta no chances staying patient and you mentioned there’ll be a lot of off the ball possession uh so to speak but we’re just saying that now jbala first attack of the game Jala’s first attack of the game walker is on the ball but we are 26 minutes into this game there’s been a couple good opportuni for Scotland but it is still nil nil between the two Nations and it will be Nathan to bring you through to half timee yeah thank you Karen the ball just on this near side uh Forge bralton they float it all the way out to The Far Side to Jolly Ethan Jolly’s just going to look down his line looking to punt it long that’s the best thing to do just look as long as you can and make some forward runs and they’ve done that and they’ve picked it up in Midfield it’s a nice one two and they’re just going out the center circle now it’s driven out to the right hand side to dbar he’s going to drive at Robertson for the first first time this afternoon he’s been tripped but the ball’s still with jaala he’ll be jolly on the ball just looking for his man and it’s just picked up again by Scotland and shankland he’s going to move out to the right hand side to Christie who’s going to run at his man and run hard as he likes to do he’s going to feed it over to mcrai can to get the ball in the Box it’s intercepted and cleared by jalta but Scotland will come again once again jabal are dealing with this Scotland press and the ball’s come out to left hand side Andy Robertson the captain of course drilling it to Forest right by the touch line he’s standing up against his man he’s going to cut in on his right foot he has a chance to get the ball in the boxes he lock to the edge of the box for Billy Gilmore strong tackle once again by jaala and they’re going to carry it clear it’s a positive run it’s very positive run by Sergeant the uh Center half but he’s actually been dispossessed and Ryan Chris is going to have a pop from goal at the edge of the box and that one Kieran was all was floating ride and I I do apologize it was actually James Forest who came centrally for the shot and harsle Over the Bar yeah it was Forest once again and I feel like all the chances at the moment they are falling to the likes of forest and Christian it settled well for him he scored quite a few long range goals come the end of the season for Celtics so it’s a surprise to see him lash at at that one really and not really show a lot of composure in front of goal you’ve got to be hitting the target from distance almost give that goalkeeper something to deal with is it’s his first ever International start for hins he’s already made a decent save against Christie but the rest of the attempts for Scotland have just been way over the barel way wide so far and Forest is getting more and more involved in this game as the minutes are going on and Scotland you can see The Confident but when it comes into the finishing aspect the finishing I think it’s been fair to say it’s just not been great so far which Steve Clark will’ll be slightly worried with so far yes we can’t um criticize forest for going for goal because every time they get into the box they seem to be dealt with so going for a pop from the edge of the Box um you can’t criticize them for that but you can criticize him for the execution of that shot absolutely needs to be hitting the target from there we’ve just ticked over 28 minutes and 44 seconds it’s Jal n Scotland nil ja with no shots so far no cards but four corners for Scotland so far the ball’s just with Robinson Robertson on the left of the center circle everyone forward for Scotland minus the keeper of course and the ball’s just on this near side once again with Forest the the confidence is ringing out for Scotland passing wise but in front of goal it’s really not clicking so far 65% possession we’re seeing for the Scots Grant Hanley just over to porus the Watford man and out to that Far Side they just happy to feel the game out with possession at this point and we’re moving it quick but staying on the ball now no way John mcin San said his name a lot this this afternoon so far but he’s going to float to the back post and it’s a man unmarked he’s headed it across and Al for goal kick and Kieran there he’s in space you take it down surely yeah he’s got to take that on his chest mcra and I guess that’s where you see the the lack of confidence going forward for some players that ball to the back post from John mcin absolutely perfect I’m not sure who’s meant to be following mcrai there maybe it’s either Oliva or Britto maybe tracking back’s got to help out his man a little bit more but MCC in ACR of space and I think just take that down you should have the confidence take it out maybe then you drill it across the face of goal maybe go for goal try catch the goalkeeper out but I think he probably chose the worst option possible there but once again even if he’s wanting to head that back across you can still do that in a proper way but in the end it’s just completely inaccurate it’s gone miles high and wide again and he was intending to put it back across the face of goal so the fact it’s gone behind the goal shows the real lack of quality going going forward but John mcin that’s exactly what you want from him picking out them passes they’ve got to get him involved in this game that little bit more because over the past 5 minutes I think it’s fair to say we’ve seen a bit more of him but the opening 20 minutes or so the game was kind of bypassing him a little bit but here comes Scotland again yeah down not left hand side of Robertson’s in the Box in a fair bit of space now can he find a man he can and it’s headed over from just outside the sixy box and I believe it was mlan there and he was unmarked Robertson did fantastically well to pick out his man and he was un marked and from there you’ve you’ve got to be hting the target again Kieran that’s another one yeah that’s another real good opportunity and it’s Kenny mle I think maybe he’s leaped a little bit too early going for that one but once again it’s a finish that is absolutely nowhere near tested hins in that goal it was really well carved out by Robertson once again he’s causing a lot of problems down the left down side and Scotland’s best chances really have come from the left hand side getting to the by line and cutting it back they’ve had a few opportunities there we saw that Ryan Christie volley earlier on in the game which was from the left hand side it was actually mlan that time that put that ball in the penalty area this time it was Robertson and we’ve seen the Liverpool man bomb forward a few times now him and Forest linking up quite well down the left and you think it’s only a matter of time till one of these hits the back of the net but the finishing so far on display from Steve Clark side has not been anything special so far and I can only think of one save henkins has had to make so far yeah nine attempts for Scotland only the one on target that’s the one k just mentioned there by Christie he’s the man to take the throw few yards back it’s about halfway inside the jibral half on the far side all the way back to Grant Hanley and he’s got Forest to his left but he’s actually going to float the ball back out to that far side it’s a nice Trap by Christie shanklin’s come deep to get this one it’s a whip ball into the box and it’s just evaded everyone and the cross nearly ended up in the back of the net yeah that was a brilliant delivery I’m not sure if mlan actually got a touch on it because it looked like it Play Just slowed down as soon as it got into the penalty area but it was Ryan chrisy on his left foot put a great ball in he didn’t get a touch on it he went through absolutely everyone but I’ve been quite critical of Scotland’s crosses so far I think that’s the perfect delivery into the penalty area Ryan Christie that’s what he does well operates from the right side cuts onto his left and just almost guides it into the penalty area he doesn’t put too much on it just allows puts crosses into the penalty area that can be attacked and unfortunately for Scotland it’s Kenny mlan that’s just a little bit behind it but you’re kind of hoping that someone like shankland is flying in there to get on the end of it but here is shankland who goes for goal and once again it’s a real poor effort goes miles over the bar and they’re just struggling to hit that Target at the minute you mentioned dkes being out with injury perfect opportunity for this man to impress Steve Clark and an out in this afternoon but so far he’s had a couple of attempts in that one might have just ended up in the alav SE because I think it just left the uh Stadium CU it he got right under it on the right hand side of the box yeah sorry it was a real poor effort in the end but once again it is Christie that’s linking things up and I think that’s probably the first time and we’re what 33 and a half minutes into this game the first time that it looked like Shanklin could have got in behind that jalta defense and I think it’s because jalta they’re just starting to grow in confidence defensively they’re coming out that little bit more Scotland are sucking them in a bit we just saw christe sucked in a couple of players and Shanklin could finally play on the shoulder and if I’m not mistaken I think that’s the first time Scotland have been able to do that this game H you’re rightly mentioned there it’s a confidence thing the more this stays nil nil the more confidence jabral definitely will get carving out the opportunities aren’t a problem for Scotland it’s uh taking them that’s the issue so far in this 34 minutes uh in the algar is Grant Hanley just inside the jalta half just centrally outside the center circle he’s going to go left to his right I should say on that far side it’s going to work its way back inside they’re just looking for them opportunities them gaps to just carve through the stubborn jabal to back line nothing as of yet and they have actually given the ball away jaal have a chance to get out with Lopez as a man back to goal is El hamidi he’s seen nothing of the ball really so far in this game it’s a frustrating afternoon so far for him and dbar of course Britto Ethan Britto then front three for jalter but still nil nil that’s the thing that matters for jalter so far and it’s going to come back inside and it’s Grant Hanley centrally in the jalt half he’s going to left foot long looking for forest and it’s a good good defensive header and it’s a great defensive Header by jolly and that relieves the pressure for jalter but again Scotland are probing away but again jalter have the answer yeah they do have the answers I’ve been quite impressed with them defensively I covered jalter a couple International breaks ago against Wales they conceded quite a few goals in that game they looked lost defensively they’ve looked well organized in this one Robertson puts the corner into the penalty area the header is won it’s a bit of a goal mouth scramble and in the end it’s a heroic clearance on the line as Scotland come inches away from opening the lead but it’s still nil nil for all the world looked like the net was about to Ripple as it came in it was brilliantly saved on the line and then hooked Away by two Defenders heroically Robertson’s going to float the ball and recycle it back into the center it’s evaded everyone and jaal will have a chance to clear with dbar if he does but he might fall victim to overrun it here as he’s run to the far corner he has two men but he’s very smartly hit it off uh Scotland man and it will be a jalter goal kick but that was the biggest opport so far for Scotland a brilliant ball in from Robinson to the far post headed down reacted well and for all the world looked like it was going to slam the back of the net I believe it was James Forest who came in on the shot but heroic defending on the line once again to remain Nell and it’s just once again you have to give your flowers to jabral Fantastic defending fantastic defending it was Lopez the center half but he’s actually blocked it on the line there the initial header Was Won by Hanley this time he did hit the target and it was well Saed by Hankins but in the end it fell to I think it was his Center back partner actually pus who were flying in with the second effort and in the end he actually connected with it first did the Scotland Center half but it was Lopez who just about flew in and blocked it off the line it was fantastic defending and I mean 37 minutes almost 37 minutes into this game and jalter defended absolutely brilliantly when needed so far and I think Scotland that could certainly improve a lot for the rest of the this first half and certainly the second half they’ve probably done enough to at least be winning one or two n but they’re finishing I mean it’s not been good enough and if you finishing isn’t good enough then do you really deserve to be in the lead because jalta have made some real good last H interventions so far in this game there was a free kick just given for Scotland in the game is back underway as it is the visiting side that just looked to carry the ball forwards as usual yeah gone in strong and forest forest stayed down he’s had a busy old afternoon so far but he’s back on his feet maybe just a sign of frustration for the jalta striker seeing not much of the ball it’s out to that Far Side Ryan Christie’s gone out there and he’ll play it back inside to Gilmore it’s centrally in the jalter half so far everyone camped behind the ball for jaala maybe a chance to get the ball in the Box here for mlan he has whipped it in but it’s again Lopez there to deal with it and it all for a corner but real zealous on that cross and it was a fantastic ball in shot across the face of goal but well dealt with once again yeah well defended another decent ball into the penalty area by Kenny mlan and once again it was Lopez there to meet the header he’s defended brilliantly over these past few minutes and I think fed say for the duration of this half so far but Scotland the cause problems for the last Corner can they do the same again yeah sixth corner of the game’ll be Billy Gilmore with the outswinging right foot corner bit of handbags in there and I think the referee is just saying look I need a word with you two and the ball go back out and it’ll restart the corner but yeah we’ve seen some hangbags so far from corners and it’s enough for the referee he’s going to have a a word with the big number five for jalter anley midfielder of course he’s a he’s a fair well big man he had a his arms around the Scotsman and that’s uh maybe did he get away with that one just for a word maybe not a penalty if he went down there he might have had a claim yeah it’s a dangerous game to play very hands on he looks like the biggest player really for gibralta so the most physical one at that he’s completely moved away from PES now but the corner has been whipped in it’s been whipped in and again Lopez there once again it’s going to be driven in and it’s hit the floor and it wasn’t good enough to reach the goal but Gilmore’s going to get a second bite the Cherry into mlan shot door slam shut and jabral to again have the answers and the ball’s whipped in once again and shanklin’s under it and he shank the header but it’s still alive there and it’s gone out for another Scotland corner but it’s looking dangerous but jabala once again got the answers it be seventh corner of the game we just seen that ball in from Christy lovely left footed whip from the right hand side just couldn’t get on the end of it and Shanklin forcing a corner for his team and it’s dealt with once again from jabr we’re just ticking towards 40 minutes gone Billy Gilmore and that red hot alav son um he’s going to take this right foot outswing and there’s a heavy line of Scotland players on the penalty spot lining up and they’ll obviously dispers and spread out across as the ball comes in and it will be whipped in once again to the front post to come off the Scotland man rather than going to go shanklin’s going to hook it in once again there’s men dropping around and once again it was Grant Hanley flicking his left foot out and didn’t really look confident there and he didn’t get a good enough touch on it it’s gone up for a goal kick yeah he’s had a few opportunities in this half as Grant Hanley I think he’s fair to say he’s probably had the best chances so far but once again it’s Scotland causing problems from set pieces not well defended clipped into the back post it was actually flicked on by mcra and I think the flick on of mcrai has maybe just thrown Handley off just a little bit he had to throw his weaker left boot at it he was hoping it was just wide of the goalkeepers right and post in the end I think that one’s maybe more I feel a little bit more for him in that section I don’t think it’s as bad as a miss it looked as it looked first time I think we’ve certainly seen worse in this game for Scotland but interesting Scotland they’re looking really threatening when it set pieces I think jalter in open Play are defending kind quite well so far in this this one but defending set pieces looks to be their weakness so far yeah absolutely we we just saw the replay grantley did do a jolt to the left so maybe he did anticipate the flick on but he swung a leg at it but on the replay seeing how fast that ball came to him so he did the best he could but it unfortunately just wasn’t good enough for the Scots the ball’s just going to be clear for jalter and they’re going to carry it forward as far as they can and maybe there was a man clip there just inside their own half and that was so that will relieve the pressure and at this point for me Kieran do you think the same just few yards inside their own half do you push big men forward and just lob it into the box I mean Jaa that might be their best bet yeah I mean it’s so difficult for them that I think I could probably think of maybe one or two times jalter have had possession in Scotland’s half which is quite something 42 minutes into a game of football and I think they do need to almost clear the lines up forwards like we’ve just seen there looking for their front man and I think if I’m not wrong this is the goalkeeper’s first touch of the game Xander clar throws it out but I guess that when they are booting it forwards they’ve got such a a small forward in debba that it’s never really going to stick with him do they have that big forward on the bench I guess we’re not necessarily too sure unless until we see it but they are almost playing into Scotland’s hands at times that when they do have possession they’re trying to build it up rather than look in behind I think they don’t have the quickest defense to Scotland portus and Grant Hanley are not pace he Center half so when you’ve got the ball in Midfield Walker when he’s got that rare moment of possession in stly look up look in behind over the top see if you can create something because I think dear’s pace could cause problems I guess the problem is jalta just aren’t seen a lot of the ball at the moment to create them chances yeah the ball’s just in the Box for Scotland are gone for the shot but again two men in the way for jaala we we’re seeing the passing game for JAL and it’s not really working like you say Kieran it’s it’s playing into Scotland’s hands and ball forward and running in behind might be their best option man push down inside the own half for Gibralter he’s been brought down it will be a free kick it’s dbar all the way back there and Robertson’s the guilty party on that one he’s he’s got a bit too handsy on his opponent and he’s pushed him to the floor and that will always be a free kick but again they’ll play out short and again they’ll just play in Scotland’s hands and it’ll bounce right back to him anticipating but better off going long send the big men for and I believe actually that’s what they’re going to do now and it will be sent from the captain Liam Walker he’s going to look long this is a better option the floating the ball for they have on the right hand side Grant hanley’s down with it but they do have a throw a couple of yards towards the corner flag to the right hand side see if just one long ball and you’ve want yourself throwing a a fairly up forward position you know Advanced position so it shows a long ball can cause issues it’s not a goal it’s not an attempt but you’ve got yourselves the ball in the right area and the number four for Gibralter Sergeant’s going to come all the way forward he’s the center half but he’s lining up a long throw he has got a long throw at his dispos be thrown into the box and it’s deep and it’s been being dealt with by Scotland but he’s bounced back to that man that took the throw can he get a ball into the box he’s had to go back to the bar again he he’s at to vade back and it’s gone all the way back to the center circle now it’s good closing down by Scotland forcing the way up to the back but it’s a long ball over the top Grant Hanley this time has dealt with it but that’s better from jalter and on another day that ball in behind could have got the man in Behind grant Hanley did well though yeah it’s the right idea I think jalter I’m not surprised to see they’ve got that long throwing taker because when they do get that rare throwing in a decent position you may as well lump it into the penalty area ask a few questions ultimately them questions were answered pretty well by Scotland and pretty comfortably but it’s certainly nothing to complain about what’s been given here shanklin’s just being wiped out by Ral to man has he won a corner is it a goal kick has he won a free kick I’m not necessarily Too Short at the moment but I mean the defender was not looking at the ball at all has completely just gone to wipe out Shanklin but I’m not necessarily sure what been given yet in this no I would anticipate from that I think he’s got the magic spray out some you say yeah it will be a free kick in the left hand corner it’ll be Robinson it’s a dangerous position this and two minutes added on at the end of the half perfect chance for Scotland to get themselves a goal and have something to show from this first half needless free kick to give away Shanklin did well to win himself a free kick because he’s running into a corner and the ball’s going be whipped in by Robinson deep into the back post but again falls harmlessly into the Keeper’s hands and it was dealt with by the defender mcari in in there looking for a header but he had a lot of pressure on him minute and a half to go we’re just seeing the free kick again from a replay whipped to the back post and good pressure from jabala by Jolly Ethan Jolly there the back post and they’re going to look long and they’re going to look over the top and they might be in behind here and it’s going to be a first attempt to go right into the Keeper’s hands but I think they’ve heard what we were saying and it was a long ball over the top and bro on that left hand side just outside the a he drilled it harmlessly into the K’s hand but that’s better from ja Al and that’s their first attempt and it was a shot on target for them going to look long Scotland and it’s throwing on that Far Side just in line with the edge of the penalty area it’s going to be taken quickly by Christie back to mcrai there’s a chance to maybe get the ball in the Box everyone’s ventured forward just under a minute to go at the end of this half Grant handley’s left foot is going to find James Forest he’ll like to cut back on his right but we have seen him jinxing on his left he’s played it inside of Gilmore nice drop with the shoulder he’s going to go for a snapshot it’s actually H his own man and will be cleared by jalter only as far as Grant Hanley the ball’s just on the left hand side on the edge of the box it’s going to be whipped in by James forest and cleared once again by jalter it’s a prob by Scotland but every single time and it’s Lopez once again for JA BR probably their best player so far he’s always there and he’s always he’s at the heartbeat of that defense for jaala and again we’re just seeing that chance floated over the top and Scotland were caught unawares and it was a shot it was tame it never troubled um Xander Clark in the Scotland goal but it’s a shot and it’s something to show themselves for this first half 32% possession and that will be the referee’s halftime whistle and it ends at halftime Scotland nil jalta nil halime at the estadio alava is jalta nil Scotland nil which is a surprising score line and one that definitely credits jalta for their defensive efforts in that first half but Scotland have been the Min side they’ve had the real big opportunities Hanley had a fantastic headed opportunity well saved Christie’s had a couple pop shots as well as forest and shankland but jalta have the answers so far second half all to play for in this International Friendly are back underway out there stadio Al G jalta hosting Scotland in this International Friendly it is still myself Ken Graham alongside Nathan LEL and Nathan how are we feeling ahead of this second half it was it got kg at times in the first half 20 attempts for Scotland to jalter’s one and that almost tells the story of what we’ve just seen yeah I think Steve CLK could be happy with the on ball possession it’s just in front of goal uh he’s not been so happy with we just seen the first changes Liam Cooper coming up for Grant Hanley but in front of goal they need to be better I don’t think it’ll be too long it’s very hot out there so even more substitutions and even attacking substitutions I think Shay Adams will get a run out at some point but everything is going right for Scotland apart from the finishing yeah Liam Cooper the first and only change at half time he’s going on for Grant Huntley Grant Huntley had three or four attempts in that first half from the center half here’s Forest cutting inside and his right foot on the edge of the box gives it to Gilmore this been strong St to the half from Scott mcari back to Gilmore looks to Flo it into the back post jbr man’s made a bit of a mess of it flashed across the F of goal fantastic defending from Sant in the end it was elid that lash is clearance that allowed Scotland to keep this opportunity going on ball whipped back into the penalty area once again and it’s headed away out for another Scotland Corner in this game but only a minute minute and a half in and this half has started exactly how the did as well yeah I think Steve Clark would have gone in on the on his players at halim um talking about the intensity and finishing in front of goal and like you say in a that first minute and a half of this this second half it’s uh better signs for Scotland it just remains to be seen and real chance from this corner good opportunity here for Scotland I think it’s fair to say some of their best chances of this game have come from Corners the ball has been floated into the center of the penalty and it’s Liam Cooper getting up there straight onto the pitch trying to get his instant impact on this one I mentioned pus has had a couple chances Grant hanley’s had a few efforts and Liam Cooper only a couple minutes into coming on has also had an attempt and he’s shown the absolute 50p header there because he’s not marked at all he’s in the center of the penalty area and he’s put that header miles over the back another one he’s got to be doing so much better yeah the Run was fantastic from Cooper to create the space on the penalty spot but it’s I wouldn’t say it’s an easy header but you’re run marked and he actually stands waiting for the ball to come to him and he’s headed it it’s not even close but Scotland come again here comes Scotland on the attack down the left hand side Forest takes it round his man he’s gone down claiming for something in the end it was almost a belated way to go to the ground the referee with a smile on his face waves it waves it away sorry as it looked like it was Lopez tracking him and we just see this one back Forest looked to get there better did he get a little bit of a catch on the Scotsman he’s had to really tell he went at full stretch it doesn’t look like he touched him for me he went down looking like he was diving really James Forest there and the referee makes the right call incidentally Liam Cooper could be without a club in a few days said his goodbyes to lead United fans expected to be released at the end of his contract here’s Robertson down the left hand side looking to clip it in towards the back post it’s a decent delivered the header is on goal the goalkeeper dropped it and in the end just about recovers it before John mcin can kind of open the opportunity and the goalkeeper once again looking quite confident at times but spilled this one but he’s not had a bad game the jalta debut in so far in this one I think as much as he dropped it he probably dropped the ball in the back of his own teammate as well but Scotland they’ve started this half just like they did the first half they’re creating chances they’re asking questions but ultimately it’s that red defensive line that’s just having all the answers so far absolutely absolutely it’s the it’s the danger down that left side and Andy Robertson he’s putting some Wicked balls into the box once again I don’t know whether Christie when he was in there headed he headed it back across goal whether he was aiming for a teammate he headed it up whether he was trying to Loop it to that back corner uh we only he will know but as he headed it did cause some issues but the keeper like you say he rolled it down the back of his own Defender he’s actually down here receiving a bit of treatment to his right hand so uh he might have caused himself an injury there yeah fingers crossed he’s able to continue Jala’s substitute goalkeeper he’s the goalkeeper that’s been playing all their games recently you got a red card in their last International Friendly a few games before that he conceded 14 goals to France so that substitute jalta goalkeeper doesn’t necessarily have the best of times when he is playing but it looks like henkins can continue in this one as we just seeing pictures of that Scotland bench you think players that could maybe come on and have an impact on this one Shay Adams and Callum McGregor are the ones that scream out but there’s not a lot of attacking options on that bench the actual just natural attacking player there’s only one on the bench and that is Shay Adams which maybe just shows where this Scotland Squad is lacking at the moment there’s of course Kieran as well who can operate almost anywhere you feel in a game like this Kieran a vastly experienced fullback but Scotland certainly blessed in the left back position but certainly players that can play little bit further ahead I guess Robertson could probably do a job at the likes of left wing for Scotland in a game like this as well so it wouldn’t surprise me if he s pretty soon as well but here is Robertson a heavy first touch drew the defender in Forest looks to take on his man it’s brilliant tracking back though from elidi there as he’s just once again overdoing it though on the ball he’s under a bit of pressure he’s still trying to worm his way out his clearance isn’t great in the end but it comes off a Scotland man and it’s going to go out for a jalta go kick and we seen jbal they’re trying the hardest almost almost play out from tricky situations but I think in the end that’s when they realize right you’ve got to clear it now but I mean you can’t fault them for trying it is an International Friendly there’s not much to lose and 51 minutes into this game when they were heavy underdogs they’re still nil nil there’s so much positives to be had for the hosts absolutely they’ve only had two shots on target less than uh Scotland and Scotland had 21 attempts so that speaks for how wasteful Scotland have been hell of midi there absolutely fantastic deep his own box the striker shepherding off his man and uh recovering possession but like you say if he just cleared it but he was the man that should be up there for the clearance so um just it’s again we’ve just sort of resumed where we left the first half all Scotland but nothing really to show for it yeah nothing to show for it so far 52 minutes on the clock jalta nil Scotland nil Scotland with all the attempts in this game 21 to jalter’s one but mentioned there only the three on target for Scotland in all them attempts is quite the stat the captain Walker stood over this free kicker good freak kick opportunity here for jalta to load the penalty area a little bit it’s high line from Scotland he goes short and I mean that absolutely sums this up Walker you’ve got to put that into the penalty area is trying to play clever he’s trying to go short he’s over hit he short passing it goes out for a throw you’ve got nothing to lose everyone’s you know lining up on the edge of the Box just float it in say roll the dice and you don’t know where the ball will fall so the fact that he’s played it short and not only played it short missed his man and put out for a throw it’s complete and utter waste for jalta yeah that might be one of the worst SE I think I’ve ever seen in terms of that was seriously Paul from Walker in the end but Scotland can get back on the attack now it’s Kenny McLean down the right hand side and what can they answer to that jalta attempted set piece Kenny mlan on the ball gives it to gilm nice Shar first time pass into Christie in the end he turned his man but he’s been caught out and can jaal to get a counterattacking opportunity here going on it’s elidi driving forward looks to the left and once again never looked like he was Confident Driving that ball forward in the end his pass under hit pus flies in with the challenge and now Scotland can get on the Counterattack looking in behind John mcin lets it roll across his path he’s being stood up well by Jolly mcin still on the ball plays it to the edge Robertson Clips it into the back post Shanklin heads it back across the face of go but once again it’s just filled with red shirts there to be winning their headers and Scotland had a rare counterattacking opportunity there that they didn’t end up making the most of but what can they come up here they down the left hand side now into James Forest has been well pressured by Sergeant mcin puts it towards the back post looking for mcari wins the header and it’s going to go straight out for a jibral to goal kicker mcrai complaining at the linesman saying he thought he should have won a corner to me it looked like it came off The J Man and onto mcrai but actually it was the other way around and mcrai has every right to be annoy because it did come off the ja man last yeah very clearly he’s headed off the back of his man and gone out but it’s goal kick and it’s starting to become a bit I know it’s a friendly but you can see the frustration starting to grow in the uh body language of the Scottish players and it’s not the Easy Ride the maybe anticipating it’s uh you you feel like if they do get the one then two or three may come but at the minute there’s just the decisiveness in front of goal just seems to lack and they seem to be a bit stuttery and when they do have shots seem to be nowhere near the target to be honest so under no real pressure is uh jayen Han hins I should say the number one for jalta so there 55 minutes gone we’ve got a lot of football to play but at the minute it’s it’s just started off as we left it yeah it’s just dominant from Scotland 10 minutes into this second half they still having a couple attempts here and there the have had the vast majority of the attempts in this game as a whole as they win a throwing from jalter’s throwing what can the country up can they get on the attack quickly here they’re just taking the time actually to get the ball back in play Andy Robertson assessing his options throws it into the middle of the park to Gilmore it comes off at jaal to man but in the end Scotland are still in possession we thought coming into this one this is a great opportunity to warm up ahead of that opening night against Germany for the Euros to get a few goals get a bit of confidence for the forwards but it’s just not gone that way for Scotland as they win another Corner this time once again it’s Sergeant going out there him and Lopez have been so busy in this game but credit to the two Center half because they’ve been absolutely brilliant in this one for jalta they winning everything at the moment as Robertson puts the corner into the penalty area the header is W again and henkins makes the save once again as there is a jalter man left down I’m not sure a free kick has been given so I think the haning save will be credited still as a haning save but the Jala man is still down so player has been stopped we’ just seen Robertson put the ball in the penalty once it’s Liam Cooper there again in the center halves of Scotland the three Center halves we’ve seen play for them have had all the chances in this one this one a little bit more difficult but once again Cooper is completely unmarked this one like I mentioned a little bit more difficult he does the right thing he heads it down into the ground hits the target I mean Liam Cooper he’s had two real good opportunities so far I I was I was going to say when I saw it in real time that it was a good it was a better headche it was better because this time it was on target but from the angle we just saw from the replay he was behind a man his own man and could you call that unmarked I’m not quite sure but he’s headed it and he’s headed it down into the floor very Central for henkins to collect but from that position you’ve got to be finding the corner surely especially for a man experienced like Liam Cooper yeah he’s got to be doing better there not a man known for scoring many goals he did score on the opening day of last season he looked like just a bit of a short B pass there from Scotland but it does go through to Xander clack he did score on that opening day of the Season just finished for leads and when they drew two2 to Car City at Ellen Road he also got injured from that goal and missed a lot of play last season which is why I guess his time at leads is coming to an end after a long long stay at the Yorkshire here’s Billy Gilmore in the middle reverses the pass a really good ball through it’s forest and it looked like he could have pulled the trigger he goes back to Robertson towards the back post a good ball in it’s become a scramble a real big opportunity for Christie and we finally got that opening goal in Portugal 58 minutes on the clock it was a go moue scramble but in the end the scotsmen have something to cheer and Ryan Christie has probably been Scotland’s best player in this game puts it into the top corner with a really deadly finish yeah and I thought for a second they were victim of over playing it once again and they nearly were but it fell kindly for that man you you were talking about him and talking about him getting confidence in front of go and wasn’t that a confident finish as it dropped just on the edge of the six-yard box he touched it down with his thigh and wriggled through a player and just lashed it into the top right hand corner from about seven yards out brilliant brilliant finish and it remains to be seen whether now they’ve got that one from that stubborn jalta defense is it going to just Floodgate open yeah that’s I guess what it is how the floodgates going to open I mean the first touch a couple touches from Christie were absolutely brilliant that one touch to get it through the legs of scanland and then to get the Finish it’s a brilliant finish a brilliant touch and I think a goal like that is exactly what Ryan Christie has been about as of late I keep mentioning his time at bourou the season just gone under Irola I think he’s come on leaps and bound so far as a player I think we’ve seen that today in his confidence and maybe he can finally become that player to lead his national team going forward because the struggle for consistent attacking performers does Scotland but that was a brilliant finish a more composed finish into the top corner but I think the touch leading to the goal was probably the best thing about that Co just slips it through the legs of the young 17year old midfielder scanland and in the end finally cares out that big opportunity for himself and here comes Scotland on the attack again shankland with a good couple of touches in the end he voles it straight back and Gifts possession back to Jal but it’s well won back by Scotland there as they’re trying to get back on the attack Robertson puts a good ball into the penalty area it’s won by Gilmore shankland back to Gilmore here and he had mininu he’s right in the end it’s good defending but you can almost sense that confidence from Scotland now as they’re creating some really good passages of play yeah absolutely and again but it’s hesitant in front of goal and maybe short of a slight bit of confidence in front of goal the confidence in the passing is absolutely fantastic the buildup played on that right hand side with Shanklin laying it off and he’s hesitant with his shortening it fell to Gilmore he was hesitant with his had that better option to the right as you mentioned with John mcin but it’s all all going to be Scotland and it’ll be I don’t think this will end one nil no I expect maybe one or two more goals in this one but I think it’s fair to not forget how well jalta have defended in this one so far they’re going to still keep that same approach they can’t really change how they’ve been playing up until that first goal because I guess that’s the way the jalta have to play in games like these mcin looks in the penalty area well defended Again by jalta despite being one nil down now they’ve still been fantastic for me at the back in Scotland have only just through a moment of magic managed to produce that opening goal Forest looking to beat his man once again it’s just red shirts in the way it’s Jolly this time that commits The Tackle as Forest takes the quick throwing Scotland back in possession down the left hand side Forest on his right foot into the center of the pitch Billy Gilmore with a sharp turn gives it back to the Celtic Winger Forest Cuts in and out but look how deep jalter are they know they’re expecting that Cross Field pass that cross into the penalty area at all times here’s Christie a good first touch his second touch lets him down and give possession back to the host as jaal look to come away with it that’s a nice sharp pass but in the end mcari way too quick for Walker there recovers it so well and Ja just can’t keep a hold of this ball at the moment and that’s just been a story of this game I mentioned they recently suffered their heaviest ever defeat as a Nation about four games ago against France they lost 14 nil which is quite the result and I think it’s fair to say there’s been a vast improvement from that game defensively for jalta ball whipped into the penalty area once again by Gilmore once again it has been blocked Christ here now fls it towards the back post no real Scottish player challenging that cross and the crossing has been Relentless from Scotland so far in this game and I do wonder if it’s maybe something to do with what I’d mentioned earlier I was going to come to Nathan then but it looks like J had a rare counterattacking opportunity but they’ve gifted possession back to Scotland but maybe they are looking for targeting them crosses coming into the yearo especially with the likes of mctom operating the penalty area expected in them games absolutely they’ve got some big big men in the uh in the team so Crossing might be a very important aspect to their game we just saw Jaa trying to break again I think you’ve mentioned the 14 nil it’s it seems like they’re happy to try and keep the score as low as possible uh doesn’t look like they seem to try and go for that one of course they they were never expected to win but um they’re just trying to sit deep every time they get out they they they they they’re pegged right back in so maybe for them it’s just to try and um earn a little bit more pride and respect by keeping it from double digits MC on the ball gives it to pus now nice idea from Billy Gilmore has been full of bright ideas so far in this game but it’s just not necessarily gone his way but here come jalta on the attack played to the right hand side is El HD on the attack gives it to the left hand side scanlin first real attacking touches as jalta just looking after the ball in Scotland’s final third here much better from them Walker goes back to their full back on the ball Britto and they’re just knocking the ball about a little bit better than what we’ve seen so far this is much better from jibral to what they manager will be happy with is they’re just having a spell of possession just knocking it about between Defenders now henkins is on the ball as much as they had a good counter attacking opportunity and now the’re B with the goalkeeper there still positives to be had at the moment because jalta are finally having a rare spell of possession is they’re still on the ball yeah I I don’t know whether I’m being harsh on them or not but I thought Scotland looked fairly vulnerable on the counter attack there and they could have driven towards goal but like say a rare people’s possession so I think they were just trying to enjoy it for as long as possible yeah that’s probably the K 64 minutes on the clock it is still jalta Neil Scotland Warners it looked like maybe just caught my eye at the bottom of our screens un official off Studio commentary pictures but it looks like there could be a couple changes coming up for Gibralter as Gilmore just gives it to Nathan at halim when we were just chatting about this game and it is the like for like of Robertson making way for T I think what’s so important for Scotland he’s keeping Robertson fit for these Euros missed a lot of the Season just gone through little injuries here and there so they have the two substitutions for Scotland coming up now two changes for jalta as well it looks like the Manchester United Academy midfielder is making way scanland coming off and it also looks like El hamidi is coming off as well just a waiting confirmation of the two players coming on for Gibralter here but it is eled confirmed making way as as well as scanland which is waiting on the players that are coming on for jalter for this one it looks like it’s going to be casaro that has come on as well as Ronin so they’re the two changes for jalta and the two changes for Scotland no surprise to see the likes of TI and Shams giving a run out absolutely they the they were the two main ones we were looking at to be um causing problem so it be intered to see how Scotland set up actually looks like Shay Adams has gone out to that left side so maybe he’s a bit of a versatile left wing SL forward um but he’ll want to make his Mark in this game because Lyndon DS we mentioned is out and he’ll want to get himself on the score sheet yeah it’s certainly a big opportunity for sha Adams in this one a lot of talk about where his Destiny lies and I mean certainly not good news a man that we know is no stranger to an injury kante within seconds of coming on he’s down he’s just been clattered by dear there and he’s just gone down holding his ankle but as just mentioned there sh Adams out of contract this summer just achieved promotion in the playoffs with Southampton and there’s a lot of talk saying that half Scotland within the second half on the 59th minute finally got that opener that they’ve been craving they’ve had so many attempts in this game Liam but the halftime substitute has had a couple of national team he’s got three goals as a forward I mean how many chances do you really get when you’re the forward of jalta so a few goals to his name for this country is certainly something quite impressive with three assists as well but 62 appearances at the age of 42 and to still be coming on an international friendlies in 2024 is quite something in a massive achievement for him but just repls of that Scotland goal you can see the Scotland fans is despite technically you could be calling jalter as the host there’s a lot more Scotland fans at this game of course and you can see a couple fans with the bag pipes and celebrating that chrisy goal it was a long time coming I’m surprised it took them 59 minutes to get that opening goal but they did get that goal in the end and I think it was deserved that it was Ryan Christie on the end of it because for me he’s been Scotland’s best player in this game so far as mentioned there is a couple more international friendlies coming later on England versus Bosnia which will be on the service from 745 that’s England hosting Bosnia in that England of course preparing for their opener of the euros and that their opener coming against Seria and a lot to play for for some players as that squad’s got to be trimmed down by quite a few players for that 26-man Squad come the next few days Scotland have made a coup more substitutions it looks like Ryan Jack call McGregor have entered the pitch yeah um we just seeing there 23 degrees in the alar very humid so um get some players decent run out but very hot so Gilmore makes way for Ryan Jack who’s come on and of course as mentioned McLean’s come off and McGregor uh K McGregor has entered the field of play and the play will resume with that free kick of course to lot to play for for his opportunity you think l would have been a massive part of those Euros games with how physical he can be is this’s a slight worry here for Scotland Liam Cooper with a clash with dbar has been left on the deck as I mentioned Liam Cooper struggled with his injury problems this season and that looks a really nasty one of course there’s been the sad news that he’s probably leaving the club that he’s been with for such a long time but that did not look like a nice one for Liam Cooper and I feel the I feel sorry the absolute worst for him because that was a heavy landed in heavy collision and for a man who’s had a lot of knee injuries over the past couple of Seasons this could be a worry yeah you can see the Grimace on his face as he was on the floor holding his knee Clash of knees it was a real nasty one of course when two knees come together it does not tickle and he’s in a tremendous amount of pain and it’s really the last thing Scotland or one the one is experience at the Euros of course and when you’re in a friendly just before a tournament the last thing you need is injuries but he’s uh still on the floor in receiving treatment as of right now he’s of course came on as a substitute uh and he’s and he’s gone down with just under 15 minutes to play he’s holding his knee he’s back sat up now but that left knee he seems to be really struggling with um it was a real Clash it’s of course an impact injury but it can trigger all sorts it could hurt your calf but we’re going to see another uh jabal to substitute while there is a breaking playe with Deo the number 11 for jabala to come on remains to be seeing who he comes on for but there’ll be a fair bit of added time i’ presume um at the end of this game and Scott McKenna of Scotland is uh also knes he has vacated the field and he is walking off so um they’re down to 10 men for the minute and the substitutes getting substituted by the looks of it y mcken has entered the field play the now back at Nottingham Forest man he went out for a spell on loan he’s now back at Forest and he’s on the field for the remainder of this one and Li Cooper’s limping heavily very gingerly he his behind but I believe it was offside Shay Adams good opportunity this afternoon you mentioned the injury we both have um brilliant afternoon up afternoon for shankland and Shay Adams but um nothing really to show for him yet no they’ve kind of struggled a little bit with chance creation this second half have Scotland just offside in that buildup play Sham when you compare the first half to the second half the first half Scotland had 20 shots this second half we’ve only seen three from the Scotsman so it kind of just says how this second half has gone really as much as it’s this half that’s had the goal from three shots over the whole half combin after 21 shots combined in the first half season no goals that kind of just sums up football doesn’t it it’s almost so unpredictable anything can happen and it’s just not been shanklin’s day so far he had a really good season with hearts scored so many goals sha Adams was in and out of that Southampton team scored more than enough goals as he always kind of does at that Championship level I remember when he was at Birmingham he had a lot of suits for him of course that allowed him to get that move to Southampton when the were in the Premier League previous time and it’ll be interesting to see how this summer goes for him not just from a Euro’s point of view but what club will he be playing for next season but Scotland just recovering that ball a little bit more and with 10 minutes to go it wouldn’t surprise me if we see SC maybe push that one more goal yeah they seem to slow down ever so slightly but of course it’s very ball into the penalty area part you think the man who’s won the free kick will be the one wanting to get on the end of the free kick he’s initial cross I wonder if it was actually hand ball blocked by olivo there I thought it as soon as it came in in the end he was left in a bit of a heap after making the foul on party I think he may have landed a little bit heavily from making that block the full minutes of added time there is no surprise that in the end Scotland have just about done enough to be victorious in this one two goals to the good they’ve looked comfortable throughout this whole game
