I think this is so underestimated the power of natural posture in your golf swing no matter if you’re hitting driver 7 iron five iron or wedge you’ve got to have natural posture like like think about it look at Rory Mao look at Tommy Fleetwood both have way different postures both stand to the golf ball very differently but both swing beautifully having natural posture for you is something when you get on a path life like this like the first hole of the day you’re going to feel way more comfortable and if you feel comfortable we all know you’re way more likely to hit a good shot and I really want you to be comfortable I really want you to hit really long drives and stand here and show off to your friends now I don’t want you stood here like this now watch my posture here and I’m going to show you with basically down this par five the first hole not only talk the talk but can we walk the walk can I show you where this finishes can I show you how to strike it from standing at these little checkpoints and I’ll be honest there’s just like three or four things which okay I’m saying that and it sounds like a lot but it’s really not these things will become automatic once you’re aware of them sorry if my hair’s going everywhere it’s very very windy and I’ve just played and I thought you know what I need to tell you about this now watch here I’m stood to this go ball I’m in I feel comfortable I feel relaxed look how easy I hit that and I’m straight down to the teg I’m not stood there straining straining straining straining and straining thinking I need to stand to this gold ball with a perfectly straight back because someone’s told me that before you’re going to play way worse and you’ll feel like you got no power okay take Tommy Fleetwood and Rory like I said at the start Tommy Fleetwood has a little bit of a rounded spine at the top mooy’s got like a straight back now what I want you to look for is have a look at me with driver right here I’m stood here with my armpits over the balls of my feet my bum just behind my heels and my elbows in front of my rib cage and sort of pointing down over my hips now there’re the key things I want you to be aware of and this is the routine to do it out on the cour wow I hit that so well I’ve just just and I say only just stay short of that water right there and you’re now aware of those technical points I guess we can call them what I want you now to think about is simply how to implement that let’s start with five iron now five iron is not the club here but let me show you how to get into this routine and then I’ll hit the 79 and the wedge but simply what I need you to do is work your posture in this order I want you just to grab your nice neutral natural grape to begin with I then want you to get comfortable in this upper half so what I mean by that is sort of anything above our belt buckle let’s get the those elbows to sit in front of the rib cage slightly and to the point where if you had two lines there would sort of or arrows I guess that point on top of your hips so what I do is get nice and relaxed in the upper half Club in hands and work the arms in front like this that is stage and point number one and I’ll be honest at this point I’m not even thinking about the gulf ball I’m getting the elbows in front I’m pointing down over my hips and staying relaxed cuz that’s power isn’t it I can’t stand here and put Power like this where so many of us are trying to be perfect and it’s so wrong okay elbows in front the next stage I need you to do this get your stance around shoulder width apart forget the GOL ball don’t even think about that to begin with that’s the last resort right lower that Golf Club to the clubs parallel to the ground and just check you’ve got a hand span between the butt end so that’s this thing right here and your belt buckle and it’s just a Rough Guide okay it’s nothing perfect just a Rough Guide so just checking that there and all that does is make sure the hands hang correctly and get the right distance from the go ball so Point number two staying loose get your stance a bit wider and lower that club till it’s parallel to the ground and we’ve roughly got a hand span from here at stage number three all I need you to do is just tilt over the gold ball and slightly Bend those knees that’s Point number three okay and now this is the G bit the absolute key bit all I need is to do is waggle that club shuffling into that gold ball to where you’ve kept that hand span exactly the same now look how relaxed I am here just look at this position and I’ll just show you that from the angle there that’s how itd walk in look at the Target as you do it keep moving keep relaxed keep that natural posture I’ve got my hand span and I’ll take you back to what I said at the start back of the armpits over the balls of the feet and the bum just behind the heels but I’ve done that in a supernatural way I wanted to hit five IR for you but but I’ll hit it in the water because I didn’t realize how far I’d hit down this driver it’s the same process but let me just hit the 79 away and then show you with wedge cuz there’s a slight difference with wedge just in terms of the feet that I don’t want you to fall foul of now I have to say it really does annoy me when I see Pros tell students to get a straight back stand to it nice and stiff and athletically yeah I want that but I want your natural posture now look at me hitting 79 here I walk in I waggle Club up I stand to the gold ball I’m looking at Target and it just creates a nice simple routine with easy power and I call it this and and I enjoy this term all the time lazy power okay let me show you with wedge cuz it’s vital you get this right and especially right in scenarios just like this you’ve got water just here and there is our flag and I’ll be honest there’s only a couple of variations with this number one being you might want to stance a little bit narrower because it is a smaller club and the second one you might want to have the feet a little I guess on a diagonal but look at my shoulders my shoulders are parallel to Target if we drew a line but my feet and my hips are a little bit open and simply on short shots and we have our weight left to start with it just helps us stay there and get through the gold ball and not get jammed up so the two variations are and just so you can copy this is a narrow stance potentially two clts apart and or feet and hips slightly pointing left to Target and weit on our left hand side just to help us guarantee that strike but apart from that I’m keeping everything else exactly the same dead easy not even thinking about it you couldn’t even tell I was doing that routine there could you I’m in and back I’m confident I can aim at that flag please be the club please be the club oh we need to go and see where this is finished that was all over it absolutely all over it and look where that’s finished I would take that with a wedge every single time you now have the routine for natural posture for every single Golf Club in your back please do make sure you follow it and also don’t forget This has to be the best power upgrade you could have?

Just standing in my office simulating holding a club, this posture feels so much better. I can't wait to test it on Thursday at the course.
Excellent Alex.
Alex, you might wanna edit that thumbnail…….."your're" isn't a word. Prob fat fingered it, i know i do sometimes!! All the best Alex! Great Videos!
How does this posture video square with your video of hitting Driver better by keeping your feet closer together? Thank you!
Great advice
Great stance tips Alex. I think another aspect of hitting better shots is the mental one. See the shot you want to hit. See it land on the green or fairway. This is especially hard after hitting a bad shot…to clear the mind so it doesn’t ruin the rest of your round.
I have VERY hard time "wiggling" the club behind the ball. I lift my club head straight up & down a few times to be sure I have the correct position with my hand. I'm OBVIOUSLY a beginner 😬🤦♂️🤦♂️
As you say Alex "natural posture" for every single golfer. What is good for Rory and Tommy doesn't necessarily mean it is good for me. I have been using this same posture for almost 70 years now, so why change now! Well Done Alex! Keep up the good work!!!
Met the guy who has adopted all and each of AE’s hundreds of tips? Prob not, he’s in therapy.
Wow! … i want your carefree confidence….you young fella are a striker.
Yeah. I’m more stanced like Finau so there’s no exact posture for everyone. Only what feels natural and is easily repeatable with good results.
