the number is pretty much what it was before the game started the Panthers at minus 135 the Oilers are plus 105 uh right now you could make a pretty strong argument that the Edmonton Oilers are lucky that this is a one game the Oilers did have a one- nothing lead in this game but then basically sat back and you know even now they only have seven shots on goal there’s a minute left in the second period they’ve had a couple of power plays too a lot of stuff that I talked about that I thought would be an advantage for the Edmonton Oilers has not been um the Florida Panthers seem every bit as fast as the Edmonton Oilers do the Panthers are winning the one-on-one battles more than the Oilers are they’re being outshot 217 right now as I stated like when they were up one nothing you knew it was only a matter of time before they got scored on right like Florida were all over them they were going to get the equalizer and Florida’s been the better team uh they got 41 shot attempts in the game as far as attempts Edmonton do have 24 attempts but the pucks aren’t getting through it’s a problem for them and we see this often times with skilled teams in the postseason right they just they can’t help themselves and they try to get too perfect the the Evington Oilers on the power play like they look like a Spain soccer team great passing great passing around the rink guys but somebody’s got to take a shot at the net right you know it’s just like pass pass conter McDavid to me there’s been a couple of times where he’s been in the slot and stuff and you know remember one play in the first period he deed out like three guys it’s like okay dude you know what all right you had you know he took out one guy and then he went around another guy he went around another guy but instead of shooting the puck he just kept skating in circles like deaking everybody out it’s like Bro you’ve already deed everybody out now you got to shoot the puck and he didn’t right and that’s Conor McDavid like they’re just they’re trigger shy for whatever reason I don’t know why they’re trigger shy they had a problem in game one they had 32 shots on goal in game one but they weren’t really good like they they wasted good opportunities the Oilers their offense just isn’t clicking uh right now but with all that being stated it’s a one-1 game and a game that could go either way even though the Panthers sort of deserve better uh right now cam Stewart’s going to step up and in we’ll talk puck in a couple of minutes with Cam Joe Madden bats lead off as well our Boy George Curts so we’ve got a lot of Stanley Cup talk tonight George Curts and house M con uh will join us the other big news of the day of course the NBA finals are off uh but uh Danny Hurley rejects the Los Angeles Lakers proposal to become their new head coach we talked about this last week I didn’t think he was going to take the job I am surprised um uh at how little the offer actually was from the Los Angeles Lakers and I know it s $70 million is you know it’s a lot of money but it is and it isn’t it is to you and me it is to you know 99.9% of the world uh but to to others not enough I was really surprised about that like really you know $1 million a year it’s not enough to make someone uproot their life move to a different Coast new league turn your back on a bunch of kids you just recruited you’re gunning for a third straight national championship like come on like I I was expecting like minimum 15 and I didn’t even think 15 would be enough I thought they would just blow him away and it say all right Liz you know we’ll give you you know we’ll give you like $100 million for for a 5year deal 100 million’s like a nice even number it’s a lot of money and it was it’d be hard for anybody to turn down 100 that’s guaranteed so 100 million so I’m gonna get $100 million for the next five years and if you fire me I get it anyways okay right but 11 million nah you know not not enough plus I didn’t think the Lakers did some great job if you’re Hurley right it’s not a bad gig it’s the Los Angeles Lakers there’s a ton of great things about it but at the same point in time you know LeBron James how many years does LeBron James have left and they can’t win they’re not winning with LeBron James right now LeBron James puts up great stats and all that but he can’t win without like a bunch of other players they don’t have enough money to get these bunch of other players they’ve got ad as well and a lot of other dudes don’t want to play with LeBron because they know like they’re they know all right I get the blame if we don’t win you get all the numbers and the stats right like that’s just the way that it’s always been that’s why Kyrie Irving didn’t want you know LeBron I wish I was playing with Kyrie well he didn’t want to play with you because of that right you want to break all the records and the ball’s going to be in your hand all the time now on the way out he’s going to say well you know what I’ll you know we’ll get some other players but it wasn’t a great gig if you’re Hurley you know like if you look at Harbaugh Harbaugh took the Chargers job and they have Justin Herbert right like that’s a a little bit more of a selling point it’s like you know listen Herbert’s like 25 years old whatever he is you know 25 26 20 how old is Herbert 25 26 years old right now so might be going on 27 but like Herbert’s still in his prime uh right he’s got a lot of years left Justin Herbert you so you’ve got a stabilized quarterback situation if you’re Hurley like it’s not stable the Lakers and it wasn’t enough money that’s you know that was my take so I never really thought he was going to take it I know everybody just assumed that he would but I was like no he’s kind of different and if you know the way I see it too I could see Hurley coaching like the Knicks like Tibido is not going to be around forever right so if I was the Knicks that’s what I would do I would wait it out with Tibido you got a good thing going right now and then you know you make it offer to Hurley and it’s a little bit different sort of like Otani with the Dodgers like Hurley wouldn’t really even have to move move move out of his house if he didn’t want to right like Yukon in New York yeah whatever right like he would but you know what I’m saying it’s not like a massive move you know if the Brooklyn Nets had a bunch of like cap space and money and somehow they drafted a superstar one of his Superstars or something I could see him on the East Coast but I never really figured Hurley to be the the coach of the Lakers and gonna uproot everything right now it seemed kind of sudden as well right let’s go back to the Lakers Kobe Bryant always wanted Mike Shashi to be the coach of the uh of the Los Angeles Lakers so it’s almost like they’re trying to like redo it um historically college coaches haven’t even been good in the NBA or in the NFL for that matter Harbaugh’s a little different because he was already in the NFL right but Hurley is one of those sort of old school college bully coaches you know like you guys see what he’s like you know what I mean he yells at the rafts he yells at his players he’s very intense he’s the king of the castle there was already a king in La you yell at LeBron James you’re gonna yell at anony Davis right like his personality wouldn’t have worked it could work like with you know a younger basketball team where he’s retooling it you know what I’m saying but not a team that’s like loaded with vets like that so uh 1-1 in the hockey game we’re at the intermission right now another period of play overtime could be in the cards uh tonight it’s minus 125 minus 105 right now the total is um is four and a half NBA basketball the Dallas Mavericks uh are in a lot of trouble uh right now is they’re down two games to none and you know I don’t really hit the panic button because teams are down two games to none you know the saying series doesn’t really start until somebody loses at home but to me it’s the way the Mavericks are losing and there’s not a lot of like yeah we lost but you know that happened and this you know we have a lot of things going for us they really don’t have a lot of things uh going for them their role players are not uh delivering Kyrie Irving has been terrible and just point blank they can’t win right unless their role players play better unless Kyrie Irving like drops 30 points they’re not going to win Kyrie Irving hasn’t hit a damn three-point shot in in the series yet he’s all for eight uh from three uh 16 and 12 points is not going to like that’s not good enough just point blank now can Dallas Mavericks win a couple of games in this series yes I still think they can right I’m not in a full out panic yet I’ve got the uh the series parlay both series is over five and a half but as far as as far as winning the NBA Championship it looks like the Boston Celtics are about to cut down the Nets Joe Matt’s going to step up and in the rer r Camp St will as well we’re get a full house this is sports rage [Music] look at the stats five of the top six televised rating games on the WNBA this year all involved Caitlyn Clark the only one that does it was a second half of a double header in which Caitlin Court played the first G only on Sports grid playoff games at home for Boston in Beantown they are six and two straight up the wild card I would say in this game is not necessarily well what are we going to get out of Luka donic Kyrie Irving you know Brown and certainly Tatum it is Chris porz is to me because we’re not getting back a player that’s like hey rotational guy like remember when Derrick livley went down with an injury he was playing well but a young player like 125 and 105 right now so the Panthers are minus 125 the Oilers are minus 105 the total is four and a half and the game to go to overtime odds uh right now plus 150 will the game go to overtime yes is plus 150 no is minus 200 we’ve talked about these odds in the past after two periods of play and I don’t think plus 150 is very bad actually remember when it was I think it was the Rangers and Panthers we were going into the third period once and they were offering us plus 100 it was like what the hell like plus 100 this is plus 150 of a one-1 hockey game so I don’t think it’s a terrible number although my gut feel tells me it’s not going to get to overtime like at this rate the Florida Panthers are going to break through let’s bring in uh Joe Madden and cam Stewart good to see you Joe who are you on in this game tonight the Florida Panthers and the Amington Oilers I didn’t take a side in this one I stayed off the side I rode with the under five and a half in this game and I did throw out some player props I took Conor McDavid for an anytime goal and Matthew Kat for that anytime goal as well neither of those have hit but I’m loving what the Florida Panthers are doing right now with those shots on goal because I did ride with Skinner over 26 and a half save shots on goal so that could come into play here uh in this third period going over it I’ve got the under five and a half as well and I’ve got uh the Edmonton Oilers to win the game cam who you want in this game Florida Panthers gab in the series a game under five and a half so we’re all on the under in this game I might hit it again at four and a half I know the juice is 42 cents as Joe alluded to but I see a pretty tight uh third period there have been a lot of penalties gab but uh both power uh penalty kills have been fantastic and goalies playing great and getting help from the bars as well the posts the cross barss everything wild first period too with these uh low hits knees all sorts of crazy stuff it’s getting pretty rough out there it is and I think um a lot of things that I said at the top of the show too and I was thinking about the Edington Oilers have not had a speed advantage in this series the Panthers are a very quick team as well the the one thing the Panthers are great at and it’s giving the Oilers a lot of problems is they Clogg the middle of the ice they’re they’re big they’re fast like if you’ll notice I like to see like a puck possession stat like the Oilers just never have the puck and they sort of face the same problem I’ve seen like the kucks had this issue at times this year they got better at it because they realized we can’t we’re not going to be able to play we’re not going to be able to play in the playoffs and they got better at it of dumping the puck in and stuff but it’s the trotto M Leaf’s problem right you get these skilled teams they get into the playoffs they’re they didn’t dump the puck in the corner all year they got got skilled players they take it in on a three on two they blast a shot from the slot you know on on a on a fast Counterattack the Edmonton Oilers do that the Oilers aren’t a let’s dump the puck in the corner go get it and fight for it and get an ugly goal it’s not in their DNA yet the Panthers it’s a it’s a freaking red jersey wall at the blue l so the Oilers don’t have a choice they got to dump it in and they never get it they never win the battle they lose the puck and then Edmonton has to chase them back out again after like Edmonton’s got to figure out a way of hanging on to the damn Puck like they never have the puck they’re always like chasing the Florida Panthers out of the Zone good call easier said than done too have you ever seen a team win more battles in the corner than Florida like it just seems to me they’re all over these guys like it’s just one of those things like they’re absolute animals they come in there they hit you they steal the puck they do so many things well and Edmonton has great players but yeah you’re right Gabe you got to find a way to beat this uh not necessarily a trap but Florida just plays responsible hockey and barov is probably argu one of the best two-way players in the league he’s doing a great job in McDavid and Joe good call by you on the shots on goal because one thing the Panthers do and they’re doing it is they are Relentless at just flicking the Pucket the net right like they’ll turn around shoot the puck shoot the puck shoot the puck they’re obsessed with just flicking the Pucket the net every time it’s like inside the blue line of the Oilers meanwhile the Oilers will be four feet in front of the net and they’ll pass it they’re always just looking for that final one last you know explosive shot they’ve got to start flicking it at the net themselves as well but we got a full period of play here uh still what do you think uh Joe about overtime does it feel like this game’s going over like cam if you’re taking the under if you’re G to take under four and a half then 22 kills you I don’t know if it’s a 2-2 game it seems like someone’s either going to score make a 2-1 and then maybe win 3-1 or it ends up going to overtime tied at one-1 couldn’t agree with you more Gabe possibility I know Jolie you you both and now you don’t want to make a mistake so you got to play I that could be good or bad you got to be really really careful at your own end no turnovers people this game might D I like that game I think two to one with a three to one we still win by the hook both teams to score not so sure I kind of like your overtime play and that price you said isn’t too bad at 150 I don’t really want to start yeah it’s plus 150 so not bad odd so if you lose on it you can at least live and say well it was plus 150 take a little shot but I’m already on the other I put more I put the same amount on both but about two minutes into the game I was like you know what I don’t know why I didn’t bet more on the under so I just I sort of doubled up on the under of this game and I’d be shocked if we end up getting to six now I don’t think it’s going to open up like I said I don’t even think cam like I said I’d be surprised if it he was even 22 after this period I think it’ll be 1-1 or someone’s going to win 2-1 and then maybe you get that empty neck goal but may you know so I would if I was going to play it I would go under four and a half I agree yeah I love what you’re thinking there I’m completely on the same page as well and you were talking about the time of possession we are seeing the Florida Panthers dominating those face off gab they’ve won 51 or 53.1% of the faceoff so far so I can’t believe all the penalties these teams are taking getting so Scrappy out there yeah I’m not surprised but I’m surprised that the power plays are unable to uh to take advantage of it um I will say this too I don’t think it’s deliberate or anything like that but Edmonton have been Florida have gotten lucky a couple of times like it should have been a two-man Advantage a couple of minutes ago right and it wasn’t they got away with that there’s just been a couple of little things a couple of breaks that bottom of the third Houston and San Francisco also scoreless any late night baseball for you Cam no Gabe the only actually baseball game I bet on was um the college game and I remember what Lou told us about NC State and his story and stuff like that so I took the wolf pack and it was a crazy game against Georgia but they got it done and uh yeah it was on the Blue Jays as usual and they lost so nothing new uh there I’m glad you got your bet your win with the Dodgers two games and the Blue Jays hey both games and Extra Innings too got to get it done good bet and the Blue Jays just couldn’t score tonight against Milwaukee they made ray look like the next coming of sa young but we’ve seen this act before I didn’t like uh I didn’t like the Jays tonight I like this the schedule spot um I’m not a big fan of a team coming from the West Coast back to to the Midwest East Coast overnight like this it’s just it’s a tough spot to be in against Milwaukee uh did you play any baseball tonight Joe here late night yeah I did I was looking at the strikeout props between the Chicago White Socks and the Seattle Mariners I did take Logan Gilbert over the six and a half strikeouts he has four on the board right now and Eric feedi p i Ed his number up to seven plus strikeouts at plus 158 he’s only got two right now but it’s still early and it did does give me hope here that the white socks haven’t allowed Those runs because we have seen him struggle a little bit on the road even though he’s been able to get those strikeouts so live I would jump on the Chicago White sock straight up at plus 192 on the money line I think all the value is there bold oh you know good odds I’ll say this I don’t think they get the five there’s no value on it but I don’t think they get to five runs even in this game I don’t think the white so are going to score very much and maybe the Mariners score a run or two here but like I said it’s only it’s four and a half right now and you’re in the bottom of the fourth inning in this uh baseball game but yeah thanks cam I hit the uh it was good plays I played the Dodgers to beat the Yankees in the series and that was minus 120 and then I was like you know what I like the Jays too but I don’t want the Jays to screw my Dodgers bet up so I played the Dodgers alone to win the series and then I did it again after I was like you know what I’ll play the I’ll play the Dodgers with the Blue Jays to win and it was plus 200 so it was a nice that’s pretty good odds actually and uh so we did take two with three I talked about not playing as many major league baseball serieses as I used to or as I should it’s not a bad way to go and especially parlay them cam I love them Gabe I think it was a great move that you made and hey that’s the whole thing you win the first couple games you can play with house money you can put it into something else and uh yeah you got it done the bottom line is he and you pick ver stappen in the in in the Montreal Grand Prix pressure going once they gave up uh this goal 2-1 with 13 minutes left let’s see the uh the new number right now the overtime number is going to be blown up um the total itself is still 4 uh 4 1/2 minus 190 to the over right now plus 155 to the under the Florida Panthers are all the way up to minus 550 the Oilers are plus 375 I personally think that that’s too high it wouldn’t shock me now that like Edmonton you’re getting plus three you hit that g goes overtime you can decide what the hell you want to do with it I agree that is way overpriced in a one goal hockey game shouldn’t be that high
