think that was similar Mikey I mean those two out of the toe are you take those all day long it spins up a bit look at the of speed 122 again only difference there is it dropped a little bit of launch angle yeah a little driver off the toe and you get away with it oh all right guys welcome back to the channel so today we have a brand new iron to review two new iron to review Michael yeah from a company that are making a foray into the iron or hard Goods Market definitely uh Vice golf have been known for uh direct consumer golf balls up until this point so um one of the bigger brands in in that sort of uh in that space definitely big following for their golf ball I play with guys at the golf course that use time yeah um and it’s good product really good prod you people bringing I get a lot of people bringing Vice goldf balls into the the fitting Bay with us 100% and uh yeah very very popular um in actual fact this one is not a pre-embargo video so the Embargo now lifted these irons are now out and and people know about them which is kind of interesting because you get a sense of people’s eagerness for us to do the reviews on this stuff if the Embargo Has Lifted I’ve had a lot of people in the last week reach out asking are we going to do this review yeah I saw the commercial on uh on TV over the weekend and uh uh definitely some some people in the DMS going one of you guys testing when you guys testing so we have them we’re here ready to test lovely lovely so two irons Michael uh VG i1 which is what you have there four iron and VG I2 yeah little more game improvement yeah game improvement and then one that’s that’s really from a head profile standpoint much more in the player space uh narrower Soul kind of pre-worn Leading Edge on there a lot of kind of design um characteristics that you see from guess guess modern modern Club heads that are are kind of being developed for for maximum purpose yeah and both Hollow but this uh this iron down here just nice clean profile right out of the gates before we even test anything just looking down at you’re like pretty clean but it’s Hollow so a little bit of help too yeah so we we have four irons to test we we only have the the seven iron in the VG io2 um stronger lofted Golf Club Mikey 7 iron at 29° Li angles are a little bit more upright head weights are a little bit lighter on this one guys this is very much a draw biased Golf Club a golf club that will help players who are maybe struggling with an open face little bit more face closure with this one um I quite like that M you obviously the the the design of the head in order to try and help a specific you know sector of the market which is a large one in the slic category so I think a lot of people will will benefit from that one obviously hot two-piece head Mikey very very quick ball speeds from from uh what Vice have tested obviously we’ll put that to the test um vgi one little bit of a different animal yeah bit weaker in The Loft as we said sleer profile much narrower so much less offset way you’re holding I can of see you know the transition from the hos to the edge very very little offset they blended it nicely definitely um three times forged uh on this guy but again still has that DNA for Speed high performance uh German engineer as as a look at it in the the the hos love it so engineered with um h h I in one yeah fitting company yeah a company that I’ve known about and had some interaction with the guys at at uh at hi for a long long time back in the early txg days I think when we launched the channel a couple of the guys from hio had reached out to say you do you do you want to have sort of a partnership in in just almost just like a knowledge sharing basis which I love the open-minded this very rare in this uh Club fitting industry that that you know groups want to work together and it should be that they want to work together but um they are the the the sort of group behind uh the development of these irons with Vice they’ve came together uh to sort of engineer and and sort of design these which I love the story behind that as well yeah it’s smart of fitting A fitting company and a you know a a golf company for product come together they’re getting some good opinions definitely okay let’s start with the VG io2 let’s put that 7even round through its paces and then we’ll dive into the iio ones okay has um VG io2 7 iron 26 29° aoft sorry yep little bit upright so we’ve got the green at 175 obviously built to your spec which is nice very nice um but you know that Green’s a little bit further than your normal seven iron would go probably a little little juicier this iron well yeah no say it’s about the that’s about the number no I would not going to I think for the intention of these irons it’s important not to not to whale at them or even even swing kind of at my full speed I think let’s let’s find a range of speed that’s appropriate to the to the iron I think that’s important when doing these tests as well um so I think that’s a good number um let’s look for the usual stuff standard deviation on ball speed launch spin uh we want to make sure that we are seeing um good performance across the face all that type of stuff the iron looks good Mikey okay good definitely start yeah I mean like it doesn’t it doesn’t have like an awful lot of offset and and you know it’s not offputting as a game improvement iron confidence inspiring yeah yeah the footprints definitely generous enough like a good solid one good strike out of the gates another good sounding strike a nice iron Mikey you’re striking it nicely yeah no the these feel good that’s a nice little collection of strikes um off the mat quote unquote through the turf feels feels pretty solid yeah absolutely fine yeah I’m not I’m not I think testing a seven AR is is going to be for me quite comfortable on the map because I’m going to be enough in the the downward angle of attack mhm um what do we say the standard loft is on this 29 yeah so it’s 23 degrees of delivered Loft so got a little bit forward shaft Lane so efficiency where we at they 138 pretty good at a seven round yeah and like you know let’s call it for what it is it’s a modern 7 hour modern 79 for loft Li MH upright and as we said 254 head weight uh I believe on the got or sorry 260 sorry yeah I think it’s six are head weight so 260 yeah so it’s it’s it is lighter it doesn’t I’ll be honest it doesn’t really feel it I don’t feel like i’ you know there’s nothing there at the bottom I’m not yeah that’s good I’m not kind of like sensing like I’m struggling to to find it I think this will be popular I really do and this is a cheaper one as well correct this there’s a little bit of a price break when you go into the the I2 just turned it over a touch but quite liked it again I’m hitting these in the middle yeah let’s try and stray a little bit I were you thinking that I was thinking the exact same thing give me a toe shot and a heel shot yeah let me let me see if I can kind of work into some misses felt a bit more toy yeah it was that’s flown the that’s flown the number wasn’t it own for sure okay low toe yeah go to the table it’s how did that compare wow fastest ball speed well joint fastest we shot three High yeah bit more spin yeah it’s a good Miss isn’t it that’s what you want launch angle up a little bit H I think that’s the value in these tests isn’t it those types of exploring let me see if I can get one more on that side and then we’ll go to the heel I think that was similar Mikey I mean those two out of the toe are you take those all day long it spins up a bit look at speed yeah 122 again the only difference there is it dropped a little bit of launch angle yeah a little Drive off the toe and you get away with it no okay let’s see if we can he’ll hit a couple little that was too centered I don’t it’s funny I don’t get scared of hitting it in the toe but I do get scared of hitting in the he yeah you just don’t want to rip a hler what’s impressive is those those those misses do not look or play like a Miss whatsoever now I know we’re being picky 9 mm heel but it’s still out of the heel yeah your spin doesn’t really fluctuate speed’s still good Peak Height’s still really nice y this is one of the cooler tests we’ve done in a little bit like just moving across the face and and really just watching the lack of drop off yeah same same across the board pretty cool let’s do one more really getting into with the to the heal on that one so obviously we’re hitting this off a really clean lie but to see the misses perform just as good as a center strike is nice to know for the level of player that’s using these irons out of some rough or out of some Fescue whatever kind of lie they’re in you don’t really you don’t get a flyer but you also don’t hit it 25 yards shorter yeah yeah certainly the uh the heel strikes were probably the ones that suffered the most there mhm um which is I think it’s going to be the case with any any iron but in that last one to still fly 171 yeah really quite necky really into the neck Stander deviation on spins pretty tight especially if if we go and take if we go to table a second basically leave the first five shots um yeah leave the first five shots CU they were the ones that we were hitting in the middle y then yeah disable the next four look at I think the standard deviation it’s actually about the same yeah that’s not that different it’s just obviously speed is up launches up so carry is up yeah yeah with the miss taking out it’s it’s not a massive difference which is nice to see not a massive difference yeah yeah I know okay let’s do the vg1 okay F into VG io1 now their blade iron um starting with the wedge interesting 46 Dees off this pitching witch 44 off vg2 so uh definitely a little bit of a difference there so while they’re stronger in the mid and longer IRS they are a bit more traditional yeah okay bit more of a blended set which is interesting three-piece forged head um and then obviously Hollow in between which is which is nice you probably get Best of Both Worlds little forgiveness little feel yeah this one is one of the customized ones Mikey they’ve kind of got the lime green paint fill I think it’s important to establish I mean Vice I think are coming into this as a company they want to be known as a fun company they they’ve been that way with the golf ball they obviously have different color options in the golf ball now they’re doing the same thing with the irons they want golf to be fun I think that’s really speaking to the new golfer who’s who’s coming into the space maybe less to the traditional golfer who’s determined to always play blades and you know uh Wilson a02 Putter and that type of thing that’s that’s not the vice no you know client no and the nice thing with their VG P2 that putter you have the wings it the whole body is customizable with colors and stuff like that so we could all be fit into the same Putter and it not one look the same which is which is nice Definitely okay let’s uh let’s see some wedges now well one thing I will say is even though it’s designed for a golfer that’s potentially scratch up to kind of call it you know mid teens mhm I think the head size is is a little bit more on the generous side so I think that might help stretch up that handicap a little bit doesn’t have much offset but it definitely is a generous head size great really good strike sound solid I like the sound right of the gates with this iron little heavy maybe thoughts on the Forgiveness with the pitching wedge not bad um yeah I mean yeah fine uh I don’t think anything the club’s doing you know maybe catching the ground a little bit with with some but I think in terms of the strike efficiency it was it was pretty centered and I think the shot pattern was good yeah really good yeah no I I don’t think there was anything anything to pick up from what the iron was doing wasn’t jumpy I didn’t find like I was getting you know crazy hot you know ball speeds or anything that with it I’m just trying to hit a nice controlled 130 yard pitching W okay Fri into the seven iron thoughts on offset how’s it how’s it look going from wedge to seven the Seven’s nice yeah the Seven’s nice I think that taller what can to me you looked like a bit of a taller Blade with the wedge the problem is it’s so much loft you’re looking at it all the minute you start to lose the Loft actually starts to look quite good so no I like it I think it’s uh a really really appealing profile in the seven again for a blade shape but to have that much forgiveness lower CG High Moi it’s it’s a nice little design definitely T not the Forgiveness on the first one Mikey yeah no kidding then the win then to win designed by hole in one for hole in ones Michael exactly that’s what we want it’s a nice flight yeah good strong held the line really nice right out the middle yeah yeah you can see there little bit more so there’s the L 31 on the seven on this 31 on the seven okay so launches versus obviously the uh vg1 where launch was more like 17 spin you know maybe fiveish just under five so little more launch little more spin obviously Club head speed I’m swing a little bit quicker because I feel like that’s the golfer who’s maybe going to yeah be in this one that’s it’s nice that turned a little bit but strong yeah not the worst strike in the world little high in the face High isn’t it yeah Peak Height’s High really feels like like mid90s with bg2 and this guy’s it’s got to be t 5 higher than that must supposed be 120 yeah 115 where’ you strike that good oh yeah really good metal definitely a more muted sound off the uh VG On’s than the than the twos yeah yeah definitely as you would expect smaller footprint you know a little less room for the obviously the vibration which is ultimately what the sound is coming from is to bounce off those walls really good really I think the height is is one of the kind of most noticeable factors with it very neutral and very high I think on the Miss hit too you don’t really maybe sacrifice a bit more obviously than vg2 but I mean there was a couple there that you’d be happy with on the golf course all day long definitely I don’t think we you know we don’t need to test it much Beyond there 4 mm in the heel couple of dimples that was still really really good performance look at that for height there 117 so good 19 and a half launch 57 spin really good far as VG i1 four iron 21 degrees aoft 61 and half degree L angle no offset no offset quite amazing I mean there there’s there’s I’m sure there’s yeah 3.2 mm is the kind of stock offset but um very very clean shape yeah like I don’t know if you can you see that down the line from there yeah yeah do you see any no it doesn’t look like there’s really any which I like I’m sort of I’m a fan of that but surprised there’s still a met a reading of 3.2 mil wow okay uh see what it does little fade slight open face came out nice though or 200 and 100 ft in the air yeah for a little bit of a low strike to be honest I mean that’s that’s pretty nice for a slightly take that all day long 21 carry you be using the kind same description of these flights they just feel strong Mikey yeah yeah they don’t really move much left or right and I mean again for a four iron the way you’re striking it for for the profile of that club it’s it’s a really nice package one at 8 mm in in the heel yeah I mean we we saw that one earlier on 8 mm when we were testing the Forgiveness of VG io2 that was about what we were kind of seeing off of the Mish hitting the healing that’s quite it’s doing well that’s done incredibly well to fly 213 out of that strike this one by far yeah that sounded so good good that’s roasted 220 that was just a really good strike really not I’m not trying to hit these hard no I’m not of looking to see how far they go they’ve got some speed out of these irons for sure I just love the height that’s flown at though like see the the Apex just disappears up in the 10 107 in the air 3,800 spin 14 launch that’s that’s really impressive not bad I mean i’ certainly love if I hit all my fourarms like that it was yeah it was a good strike again that one it’s a good strike maybe a fraction tuggy but again like you said earlier like still strong ball flight very very very strong yeah I think for players who who want some technology Maybe want to get away from the bigger more game improvement like this is this is a lot packed into it from a ball speed perspective but it has a real players look yeah yeah super clean it’s nice they have that um you know kind of mini grind which is a a slight bevel on the irons uh higher bounce easier off the turf so you get a you get a nice package in a in a really clean iron like it’s got a little gear in it if you want it yeah yeah that’s a great swing but I mean that’s 225 on the carry and 227 on the carry and 243 like you you could have a you know a little driving iron out of the four no problem no no trouble all right thoughts impressive really really impressive you you struck them nicely pack a little punch don’t they yeah I think the nice thing on that vg2 showing the miss a couple toe couple heel really kind of yeah I think widens the the Spectrum for this iron of showing how forgiveness it is but this thing here the vg1 I I like this one a lot me too me too I think uh it feels like there’s some technology in there you know you feel there’s a real crack to the strike um I think the results reflect some real performance um the seven iron especially I just think think when he got into that seven iron just the height it was flying at and uh yeah it was it was pretty strong it flight yeah across the board standard deviation and spin and ball speed everything is just really really tight yeah yeah performing really really well guys and something obviously that is that is important to us is these are available all uh all Club Champion stores now really I guess the first time I think of a another brand maybe in the in the sort of uh the JDM products some of the canura epon but really the first time a company like this is been brought in as a a fitted product yeah an exclusive I mean it’s cool to have kind of first dibs at it you custom Club Fitters have have access to these you have to get be nice to go get fit before you purchase them um see the performance but yeah in your next fitting definitely request to test them especially for the budget conscious golfer for the golfer that doesn’t want to sacrifice the performance but maybe doesn’t want to stretch the budget into the the higher end uh I think a lot of people will look at this as as an option where you don’t have to sacrifice performance but you can maybe leave money to to spend elsewhere 100% really cool good excellent okay guys um Vice formerly known as a golf ball company now known as golf ball and hard goods company definitely wedges Putters irons yeah for right now no metal woods just yet I’m sure uh down the line I’m sure they’ll be on the way all right guys let’s know your thoughts what do you think about Vice H joining or entering into the hard Goods Market uh is it something you’re Keen to try is golf clubs fully customizable from a paint fill standpoint obviously head shaft grips you know the the full Gambit is is customizable is that something you guys are looking for let us know Keen to hear your thoughts all right stay tuned for more we’ll see you again soon [Music]

  1. Great video y'all! I've been excited at the prospect of Vice releasing their own line, but was saddened when I saw the price. Was hoping it would be in the same DTC competitive pricing like Takomo, Caley, etc.

  2. As a 67 year old who still plays single figures, i wish someone would produce a distance iron that isn’t draw biased, all the hybrids and distance irons ive tested have this draw bias and I don’t need nor want it, so I struggle on with blades.

  3. With the Srixon Z-Star Half-price deals every 6 months or so and Maxfli Tours, I find it interesting that these DTC golf ball companies are able to survive. Speaks to the importance of marketing and branding.

  4. I have JPX 923 Tours and I fly my 7 iron around 134-150 ft high. Carrying around 190, spin in the mid 6,000’s.

  5. This is pretty exciting. Many of us love the vice golf ball. I’m honestly not sure I expected this good of a review from their first ever set of irons.
