at the memorial Scotty Sheffer once again shows he’s by far the best player in the world is the US Open his to lose and over in Sweden an alltime collapse turns this host’s brain to Mush a a new drink sponsor enters the fry and most importantly our giant US Open preview coming up next on EMQ bets golf [Music] welcome to a super exciting and special episode of EMQ bets golf I’m Nikki Vegas here as always accompanied by Jimmy metrics and b y this is gonna be our US Open preview show and uh really this is I think this is the Premier event on the calendar every single year yeah you can talk about the Masters gets everyone excited gets everyone going challenging Golf Course great place to play but the US Open is really the most complete test of golf every year it’s right smack dab kind of in in the middle of the the season right you know the beginning of Summer it’s just an exciting exciting event so uh I’m jacked up for this preview we’re gonna have a long indepth chat about this US Open coming up soon but let’s shift back to last really quickly on what you said because you said stuff that I had thoughts on um the premier event element of it uh like I think a lot of people would be like the Masters the Masters which true the Masters is like the biggest thing but the master because it happens at the beginning of the Season doesn’t have all the narratives and story lines that this now like you know who’s doing what whose season’s going which way what’s been happening all this stuff on the line for Scotty’s on this huge run the live guys coming in off of The Bryson having the two huge finishes and Majors all of that stuff the way Valhalla played all that this happen so like we’re entering the summer we’ve had a season um and now we get this and we’re about to go to Pinehurst totally totally agree I think it was one of the best decisions the PGA Tour made about five years ago which people were really mad about but I think it was a great decision to move the PGA Championship in front of the in front of the US Open and let the US Open be more of the star of the show for the season here I think it was a fantastic decision and it’s starting just everything you just said it kind of validates that decision in my opinion so um but yeah let’s let’s shift back to a recap of what happened at the memorial what happened on the DP tour and uh yeah anything else that came to mind last week so let’s start with the memorial in a Dublin Ohio really great golf tournament great test of golf great introduction kind of a a good stepping stone tournament for the US Open like this is this course played really tough um obviously minus 81 Scotty sheffler got his fifth win this year um he’s got three signature event wins he’s got the PLAYERS Championship which might as well be a major and he’s got the Masters so he’s won five incredibly impressive tournaments challenging tournaments um but yeah Brendan what I want your thoughts on how this course played and maybe How It prepares these players for the upcoming test at Pinehurst go ahead you guys see me just get hand delivered iced coffee no I did not um hi Kathy it was Kayla oh wow um so yeah I thought the memorial was awesome I love that Golf Course um I thought it was a great test of all sorts of parts of guys games um really you couldn’t be off uh or make bad decisions or you were in huge huge trouble um and Boyd is that course uh have a lot of I dare you to try this shot uh and if you are miss it by a little bit you are dunzo we saw so many guys like in it not in it like like in it gone over and over again Keegan Tom Kim Victor hin likey dude uh to uh Shane Lowry Shane Lowry sta Shane Lowry’s two scores Saturday and Sunday are are unreal he shot 66 and then he shot 80 68 and then 85 yeah whatever yeah so it was worse than I said I forgot it was just so bad Sunday anyways I loved the memorial played out great we saw all of the reasons why Scotty’s the best golfer in the world um I thought Colin went punch for- punch with him which was pretty awesome I mean when you look at how everyone else played uh the two of them just were an elevation above the field other than I guess Adam hadin too um but Colin playing with him outplaying him really for the most part Scotty surviving it Scotty’s to bounce back from when he does make a mistake to just he’s Relentless it was awesome great tournament I loved it uh it is a very different Challenge from this week but it is cool to see CH it’s cool to see back-to-back weeks where it’s a super great challenge but they’re super different yeah I I agree um and you saw Colin miss a birdie putt on 16 you saw him after Scotty left the door open on 17 with a bad chip uh actually I think it was a bad putt but uh then then Colin had a tip and left it short as well Scotty ends up making a bomb for for par and and yeah Scotty puted from off the green then Colin chipped and it landed like just it touched the rough which like killed it yeah and then Colin actually had was away so he showed Scotty the line which yeah Scotty made a huge putt on 16 to save par there like I said Mora on the previous hole had missed had missed a short birdie so not to say Colin played poorly because he shot minus one on Sunday where everyone else was going backwards including Scotty he was plus two on Sunday but still played great and held on for the win um Shefler looking at this looking at this briefly I think Colin was the only person in the top 10 who shot better on Saturday and Sunday than he did on Thursday Friday yeah that’s a great Point Jim so yeah morawa was he he was there for it um kind of crazy morawa has now been in the final group on Sunday of both majors and the final group in this tournament with with Sheffer this week um he’s playing phenomenal phenomenal golf so dialed in with his ball striking right now like every shot it doesn’t just look like the the comfort you know how like a guy looks so he doesn’t look like there’s any chance he’s going to miss the general area he’s hitting the ball to you know what I mean like his drives are all just his drives are all in the middle of the his drives are exactly where he wants them every time Jim at the beginning of the year we were really worried because he didn’t look like he was hitting the irons well at all I mean that was his whole game and he was I don’t have a number for it but twice as bad as he was the year before you know it’s good to see he got that died back in yeah his career has G his career has been interesting he burst on the scene uh he won the PGA Championship um in San Francisco and then he had and then he enjoyed kind of a two-year stretch of dominance winning a ton of tournaments um playing really well picked up his second major at the British Open um and then starting with the US Open in Brooklyn Massachusetts he lost his iron swing he lost his driver he’s been battling back and he’s really found it um yeah there was there was some concerns he was chipping poorly was hitting irons poorly all year you Brendan sent some stats about how his irons were different ever since that point he has really since Augusta he has turned into along with Xander Rory and uh shafley or and Sheffer as right there top four players on the PG tour if not playing the second best of all those guys so um yeah Stark turn around too that we joked that he had been sandbagging going into the Masters yes yeah because it was like so immediately like consistent from the most inconsistent guy like it was crazy we’re like this guy’s just been like trying to dip his numbers yeah getting all of his friends to bet on him for the Masters you know yeah it’s like that that boxer who who pretended he was overweight and drunk and then just beat the hell out of the guy and he revealed he bet on himself at 8 to one yeah um it’s good to see Colin back in the fry playing like a top five golfer in the world um so yeah he was punch for- punch with Scotty great stat Jim about him playing better on the weekend than than uh he did the prior two days U but it was nice to see the conditions really difficult the wind blowing um hadwin was right there too but he bogied the last three holes to finish at minus four solo third so he kind of It kind of looked like he didn’t play as well but he did sep straa was right there and just went on a bogey binge on the back nine um happened to a lot of guys um you saw Hideki and sjm played great on the weekend to get themsel in the top 10 um but what was really cool was seeing Sheffer on the 18th hole he hit a pretty nice chip out of the rough and then was standing over about a five or six foot downhill sliding par putt something he’s really struggled with over the past two years of his career and just banged it right in the center of a cup um big fist pump big emotion great to see it um and yeah I mean if we’re bragging I had a five unit nuclear whale piss missile on him that I that I hit so happy about that uh Jim nailed isander shley bogey free round one what a great bet that was a sick bet Jim especially once you watch the whole tournament and like hog was four guys in the first round who had bogey free the rest there ever another bogy free round probably not there was an absolute blood bath out there it was so fun seeing of course like really strike back like you know not a putt putt contest like we’ve seen like half the PGA tournaments are a pop contest and there’s nothing wrong with that you need that mixed in for fun but it is great to see a tournament like this where if you aren’t smart if you’re out of position um your gun is struggl in a big way and we’re heading to a place where it’s even more it’s going to be even more important to not make those kind of mistakes at this course this week so um yeah Brendan you also had a Scotty sheffler placement bet you hit you hit a couple other good placement bets I had shot I had I had Scotty I had three unit Scotty top five I had three units Scotty top American plus 260 so I got I got a good good payout on those yeah I I had I had a decki top 20 I had top 10 yeah you had AI top 10 I had Hadi top 20 straa top 20 Xander top 10 uh Rory screwed me on my top 10 there but you know I digress um but so Scotty Sheffer picks up his fifth win of the Year this is the first player to have five wins heading into the US Open uh and five wins including a major victory heading into the US Open uh in a long time I don’t exactly remember Arnold Palmer 1962 but you did allude to a part that makes it a little cheating which is the PGA used to be after so that used to mean you had to have won the the Masters but he did win The Masters so so yeah so it’s essentially it’s it’s he’s still he’s playing Amazing golf I think I saw he’s up to $24 million in winnings this year which is just he already he already has the most money won in a single season on the PJ tour right now yeah I mean half of that is the purses have gone astronomically higher in the last two years the other half of it is he’s playing so dominant that if you look at other pro sports that number becomes like a low number say what you look at other pro sports like what’s the best player making the NFL you know I mean Scotty’s now significantly underpaid I get what you’re I get what you’re saying but when you say half a season he made $24 million I mean he’s on Pace sure right now he’s gonna he’s gonna make Mahomes money but like he is nobody else is you know he’s on Pace to make as much money as anyone makes in sports yeah he’s kind of on he’s on Pace to make more money than the live guys who just took the free check too like almost consider this guy is you know is Nike titlist he’s he’s got plenty of money coming in well don’t forget if you win the if you win the FedEx Cup you win an out it’s an outrageous amount of money which shockingly he still hasn’t won the FedEx Cup so we’ll see if he gets it done this year he’s had multiple collapses at the Tour Championship but uh that’s not the Focus right now I was thinking about that last night I think Colin’s going to do to Scotty this year what uh Victor did to him last year of the FedEx Cup and what Rory did to him two years ago yeah yeah yeah that that could happen um also this is the baby this is the biggest F this is the biggest FedEx Cup Gap at this point in the season the history of the FedEx Cup point standings uh sheffer’s blowing away everyone else uh if Sheffer did not play another tournament uh it’s almost impossible he wouldn’t still be the one seed going into the going into the Tour Championship yeah the only person with even a a sniff of a chance would be would be Xander right or maybe Rory yeah Xander two Rory three Colin four now so the best players are ranked the best right now so uh yeah everything’s coming into place nicely for this US Open but um before we’re still not quite there yet all right let’s let’s bury Sebastian Soderberg and then talk about this tournament yeah so over at the DP tour um I put one unit on Sebastian Soderberg to win the Volvo Scandinavian mixed uh golf tournament at 14 to one he shot minus 21 through the first three rounds on Pace to be he didn’t bogey hole till the 46th of the tournament I believe he was on Pace to be uh the best finish score-wise in the history of the DP tour like Brendan said to me he was on Pace to set records and boy did he set records uh he he set records all right Lyn Lynn Grant the 24y old swed female who had won this tournament prior I think two or three years ago 11 Strokes back coming into Sunday she shoots a 7 under 65 11 Strokes back 11 Strokes back uh sitting at minus 10 shoots a guy who had one bogey in three rounds shoots a 65 to go to minus 17 Soderberg slowly collapses over the LA course of the last eight holes uh hits one green in regulation in the LA on the back nine and finds Bogies all over the place missing putts you can see it happening you can see him visibly choking we got up early in the morning to watch this um I joked around saying it’s going to be Hil I watching him choke away this win before the round even started and there was still 10 20% of me that believed he actually could but I didn’t think it I really didn’t think it would happen no I mean once he got to once he got to 18 I was 100% sure he would lose yes but I’m saying before the round started you probably didn’t think he was gonna lose no right but right but this this is a guy who now this is the fourth time I might have won the no you would the fourth time the fourth time the time this season on the dp2 where he’s entered Sunday with the lead this is his fourth dramatic collapse um we remember the one from from China it’s his second truly truly exceptional collapse because he had he had a four shot lead with seven holes to play in China uh where otegi won that was also we watched that live visible choking like his face turned red he couldn’t hit the ball in the Fairway anyway he like collapsed this was worse way worse he looked like nervous scared and I felt bad for him honestly but um a four shot lead with seven to play i’ take anybody on a PGA Tour to hold that lead anybody yeah especially the guy is statistically other than that the last nine holes of these tournaments statistically way better than everyone else yeah yeah yeah um yeah he’s he’s got Scotty sheffler level metrics on Thursday Friday and Saturday on the on the DP tour killing the entire field and shots gained T green um and putting too and then on Sunday I think I saw he was 160th on the t tour which is insane Liv’s gotta scoop him up Liv’s gotta go save him from himself fun stat fun stat I don’t I know we we lived through it Zach probably was gonna tell me he the TV told him this already but he missed it on the back nine on the back nine in his collapse he missed five putts inside six and a half feet yes that is correct five of them he he Bogies 15 on a three putt he uh Bogi 16 on a three putt he hits an incredible shot on 17 but misses the birdie putt uh and then on 18 with a one stroke Advantage dead center the Fairway has a nice seven iron coming in the only mistake he can’t make is going to the bunker and short side himself coming out of it hits it straight in the bunker he gets a to make matters worse he gets a fried fried egg buried lie his shot out of the bunker was was good yeah his shot out of the bunker excellent hits it to about 20 feet he actually hits a great putt online he just leaves it short so now he just needs to make a 15inch putt to head to a playoff against Lyn Grant who has been waiting for two hours two hours to play um and he tugs it he Yips it and it does a full 360 toilet bowl and spits right out at him he Taps it in and you can just tell how devastated this guy is double bogy is the last hole loses the tournament shoots a 77 three other players shot a 77 on Sunday was the worst score at the tournament on Sunday tied with three other guys u 10 he was 12 Strokes worse than Lyn Grant all he had all he had to do was shoot a 70 75 imagine being Lyn Grant though she must have been like like laughing her ass off right just likeing the exact opposite her interview after was painful painful she felt like you we you sat there and watched dude you watched a man’s 2hour Death March like that we all had to sit and watch the announcers were in agony covering it you could tell she she didn’t want to do that interview like it makes sense she also knows him they’re both from the same country exactly yeah like she knows what he’s been through recently that’s like she said I’m happy I won but I can’t like I can’t be happy at this man’s expense like the that man just went through hell we all he had to live Hell in a spotlight for two hours hours like yeah she mentioned how bad she felt for the guy over and over again um but yeah I mean she ultimately is thrilled to win a golf tournament and she’s a nice upand cominging player look look out for on the LPG to she’s very good player the trophy when she didn’t win he lost yeah precisely precisely uh but but she still had to go out there and shoot 75 on Sunday uh in tough conditions 6 65 yeah I that’s why sorry 65 on Sunday he had to shoot 75 yeah yeah all he had to do is shoot 75 to win couldn’t do it um so yeah I mean this is the third time this season the prior two times Jim also got burned this is the third time this season he’s burned me on units I don’t know if I can go back to the Soderberg well ever again I probably will next time I see his name but uh yeah it’s just tough he’s he uh he blocks me from going over a 100 positive units on the season which was would have been a cool Mark to get to um but regardless enough DP tour talk poor Sebastian Soderberg absolute choke I think it’s time we get to the main event folks we’re here for the US Open preview um you guys ready to do it or you got stuff to say from last week I you guys had closer eyes on it than I did um so I wanted to ask ludvig went minus four on Thursday then parar and plus two are we worried about his knee or do we think that’s going to be okay no I mean as someone I watched I watched literally every shot of that whole tournament um I I don’t want to he had a few times where it was very clear there was a disagreement of Club selection on Sunday I don’t do you remember that Zack um yeah where he hit what looked like a perfect shot and it was either just too short or too long and you could see that he had had an exchange with his caddy over what club to use it’s just it was a really hard tournament you saw people hit shots they thought were perfect like Victors into the hole he shot the triple bog or the the hole he went in the water short looks like the greatest shot you’ve ever seen ends up being a double bogey because of it like there were just moments lvic played great he played absolutely fantastic when you compare it to everyone else he still ends up what sixth in the tournament um I think the way he played I I have no no problem he actually is a bunch of 12 foot putts from winning that tournament even even uh even with that but he had there was just some Club selection issues Sunday um that really cost him on on Friday and Saturday he could not putt to save his life uh when it was for birdie he made a ton of par putts the whole week but he just couldn’t make any birdie putts uh I’m not worried about his knee he didn’t show any signs of distress or grimacing so yeah good question Jim but no I don’t think it’s a major factor here um uh yeah and he’s not the kind of guy who really gets phased either we’ve learned we’ve come to learn which is incredible for like a 22y old kid playing on the PG tour but uh yeah anything else from last week uh maybe some corn fairy or something anything else to talk about uh no let’s just do this yeah US Open let’s go let’s go into it let’s get into it okay US Open very exciting 124th Us open this began in 1895 we’ve missed five years the US Open for World War I and World War II other than that it’s been played every single year it’s the second longest running event behind the British Open uh in golf pretty cool this will be at Pinehurst number two in Pinehurst North Carolina it’s a Donald Ross original design considered as Masterpiece um it’s the fourth US Open here this course has been lengthened to 7,588 yards it’s a par 70 it plays normally a par 72 for the uh the members and the people who are going to the resort there it’s actually it’s actually a public course pretty cool but it’s going to be par 70 only two par fives on this whole course pretty awesome um this was redesigned in 2010 to Red deflect or to reflect the original Donald Ross design it had kind of from the 70s to the to 2010 it kind of lost its identity it had grown rough um it just wasn’t the same course at all um but they brought in benr Shaw to make it like the original Donald R Ross design they went ahead and did that thick rough removed in favor of hard pan sand and Native Shrubbery every single hole is thickly lined with pine trees you know hence the name Pinehurst it’s the disting distinguishing Mark of this golf course it’s a beautiful looking golf course there’s basically no water at all on this course there is on 16th hole I believe but it doesn’t really come into play so basically no water it can on 16 it can but yeah it can but it’s that’s it that’s it um this is not a lost ball course there’s not going to be lost balls no there’s there’s basically no water or OB there’s basically only 180 to clear that water and then you’re past it yeah it’s not doesn’t really come into play you pretty much you pretty much play this course with one ball like even if you play a disaster but yeah it can yeah but it will be a disaster for many people um yeah but it’s really unique it’s it’s there’s like I said basically no water let’s just say no water no out of bounds 111 sand bunkers which is by far the most to any PGA Tour stop this season that’s almost six bunkers per hole I mean that’s a ton of bunkers um you got Bermuda Fairways you’ve got Bermuda Champion Ultra Dwarf greens this actually it’s kind of a new green complex the greens are going to be similar to past Pinehurst events but it’s new green grass um most greens have false fronts are very difficult to hold very difficult to putt on got a field of 156 the cut is top 60 in ties so you know you really got to earn it making the cut here you got a $20 million purse the average win winning US Open score at Pinehurst in the previous three playings here has been minus two okay you saw you saw Payne Stewart minus one in 1999 beat Michelson by a stroke you saw Michael Campbell at even par beat Tiger Woods by two strokes and you saw Martin kimer who people his minus five he won by eight Strokes some people call it one of the most impressive major performances in the past 30 40 years um so minus five could could have been outlier wasn’t second place minus one in that um yeah maybe I got some bad info but I know he won by a decent healthy amount he was minus he won because two people were Keegan Bradley was minus one and someone else was minus one and then Brooks keco was was plus one and that was that was fourth uh okay yeah I I believe you I I believe you maybe I just read it wrong um no no no he uh yeah he won at -9 and yeah he won at minus n sorry so wild wildly impressive performance second place was minus one yes correct second place minus one I don’t know where I read that but yeah wasan Bradley and someone else anyways this course is difficult minus n was wildly impressive other than his minus n no one has finished better than minus one in the last three playings here no other person so yeah one of the most impressive performances by Martin ker in 2014 um weather is expected in the 90s the entire tournament with little to no rain fairly calm winds it rained a little a couple days ago but the course should be extremely firm and fast um and these greens are obviously are hard to hold so it’s just going to get hotter and firmer and more difficult as the week continues in my estimation uh I think this course feels in some ways similar to Augusta in some ways but it’s very different but the best comps this week are past us opens in my opinions particularly the tough ones like Winged Foot Beth Paige black so the course comps I’m going with this is a true test of the entire golf game driving accuracy shots gained approach proximity shots gained around the green and bogey avoidance will be key this week uh I think driving distance leading to shorter irems than the green could offer a slight Advantage due to the firmness of the greens but I really think accuracy is more at a premium than distance um and as we know Windam Clark the defending US Open champion at La CC last year all right I will turn it over to Brendan and Jim for their thoughts [Music] you want me to go first Jim I got I got a lot of thoughts yeah go ahead I know you have a lot of thoughts on this all right I have a lot of coar thoughts so Zach said a lot of stuff um I agree with all please feel free to disagree or tell me if you don’t think no I I disagree with a few points you made but I also just think we didn’t you didn’t stress enough what I think is the main factor of this golf course that’s why I have you here which is the ability to land a approach shot on this on these greens the greens are all turtle shell uh or false front and false back greens basically basically uh I think Zack said this to me the other day but it’s a famous old quote someone said it’s like trying to land a golf ball on a Volkswagen um yeah Johnny Miller said that everything is is Turtle shelled meaning if you don’t hit the center of the green your ball is going off the green and even if you do hit the center of the green if you don’t hit it at a good trajectory your ball is going off the green um and if you shorts side yourself meaning if you try and flag hunt and you leave the ball on that side of the green it’s going to be almost impossible to put the ball anywhere near that flag um or if you play to the wrong side of the green you end up off the back where the green slopes forward you’re not gonna be able to get back onto that green without going back off the front um there this course to me is so much more about strategy um about making good choices than it is about almost anything else um I think more than any golf course we have seen these guys play in years good decisions is the most important thing going on on this golf course yes you’re going to need to actually physically play great with without that you won’t win obviously but what’s going to decide between the guys who are physically playing great is making smart choices all the time putting yourself in spots that don’t kill you like like Zach said I think driving distance is going to be important because it lets you have safer approach shots because if you’re 210 out it’s really hard to stop a ball on the green yeah but if you’re 160 out these guys can do it a little bit more the other part is you cannot go long on these greens if you go long you are it’s two shots to get back near the hole if you’re short you’re okay so I actually think driving accuracy might not be that killer if you’re because you’re gambling where you land there’s no rough so you’re gambling like if you end up in the The Little Bush things that are everywhere okay you’re in big trouble but it’s 50/50 that you just end up in that that flat sand that’s all over the place I still I still emphasize accuracy over distance here just barely I get the point we were making about distance allowing a shorter iron in is key if you can control your spin if you really can distance hunt with with a shorter iron here’s the reason I’m saying gonna here’s the reason I’m saying this sa is if you say you miss the Fairway and but you hit your drive far um you can still lay up to the front of the green and you’re dealing whereas the guy who hit it in the middle but short now is confident to hit an approach which goes off the back of the green that guy is in a way worse situation than you who laid up to laying up to the front of the green is your best chance to just get pars so a lot of times if you hit a bad t-shot you still might actually be making yourself make smarter choices after I think a lot of guys will hit a beautiful t-shot and you’ll see them have the bad hole right um often times because they get more aggressive with their approach shot that’s all I’m saying and this course is outrageously long like it’s so long that you do need to drive the ball far it plays longer than the number that is provided I agree longer Crazy long it plays longer than 7600 yards um there is one factor though um you know a lot like some of these greens a lot of these Fairways if you don’t hit it right in the middle of the fairways a lot of these slope off into the waste areas into the sand into the Shrubbery areas like you could be a Rory guy hit at 330 but if you’re hitting it to the left or right of the Fairway you might run through it on most of these like so yeah you can cut down in the distance on this course because How firm the fairways are going to be but it’s still going to play exceptionally long but unlike other US Open courses or other major championship courses missing Fairways is is gambling it’s not a sure thing that you’re in trouble these guys are totally fine off of that like desert sand that’s over on the sides on both sides totally have no issue being there but there not that let me finish the thought let me finish the thought okay there’s if you do that 20 times four of them are going to end up in big trouble in that in those little BR Brushy things or the pine trees that that’s a lot further distance separated but yeah what I’m saying is um you’re not just seeing guys hack out a rough there are going to there be plenty of times where a guy hits a bad drive and is totally fine um way more than you’re used to seeing yes way more but a bad but a bad Miss off the tea is in the pine trees and it’s really bad if you’re in the depends on the hole honestly it depends on the hole um there’s there are holes that the the landing area for t- shots well there’s also a lot of holes where guys are going to have to choose whether they hit their driver or not um there’s a lot of holes where like it depends how you want to play are we going to play this is what I mean it’s a strategy course there’s a lot of holes where you could be aggressive with your driver and then you bring that stuff into play or you could hit your fivewood or even like a a you know an iron off the te and just have a really long approach where you you play it short and you’re playing for par um so we’ll see how guys play a lot of it it’s gonna be different I mean the first couple holes are not that CH like the first hole is pretty normal golf hole and then it kind of goes from there the first three holes are not that scary um unless I mean all the greens are so you can still blow up but the dude the back nine becomes an absolute Nightmare and the middle yeah it’s crazy but it’s gonna be awesome my point is I think this is much more about strategy not killing yourself um and I think I think a massive massive factor is going to be how you play around these greens where it’s you can choose to putt you can Cho a lot of guys are going to going to choose to use Woods to putt from around the greens you can choose to use lob wedges it depends on where you are you’re not going to be in rough everything’s going to run off and you’re gonna have to land it up there or putt it up there and decide what to do and if you’re too aggressive it’s going to go off the other side if you’re short it’s gonna come back um lag putting long lag putting um and really good short chipping is going to be massive in this tournament that’s that’s where I think the comp to Augusta is right there around the greens the greens themselves false fronts uh tricky green complex complexes rollouts like it’s definitely not the same thing but that’s that’s more the comp I was going with for Augusta there it’s a good comp because they’re both strategy golf courses they’re both like you gotta be real smart but Augusta is like a if you hit it here here’s what’s gonna happen like you can paint whereas this course is like you can play the holes like eight different ways and there’s not like a you know what I mean you get in trouble a lot of different ways Augusta is like this is how you get in trouble on this hole this is how this course is like there’s Infinity ways to get in trouble on every hole you know what I mean like so we’ll see yeah I think it’s its own unique thing without a comp really that’s why I I found a blend of Augusta and a blend of the challenge of other Us open spots but again all those Us open spots have thick horrid rough you have to deal with you don’t get that here I think some of the holes have a much better way to play them where where BAS on you know which way the greens are tilted front to back left or right so you’d rather be on one side of the fairware than the other but I do agree there are lots of ways you can play it yes and it’s gonna be really interesting how so there’s a famous thing like Martin kimer when he won every time he was anywhere near the green he putted and it was unique at the moment it wasn’t the strategy other people had everyone was talking about it because it worked he won by a ton everyone else is chipping and sometimes the chips are great but sometimes roll off and they kill you he putted he would he would putt from like 50 yards short of the green um so I think we’re going to see a lot of people trying stuff like that yeah the the the kimer tournament is unique because it’s the only time the US Open was played here with the current conditions there was rough and and stuff like that in the prior two playings here um but one thing at one point I wanted to make that’s really unique and cool about this golf course um you’ve got 12 par fours you only got two par FS one par five is 617 yards you have no drivable par fours you got a bunch of you have you you do you don’t I looked at the yardages you really don’t uh three three is um like 3 370 370 yards I mean yeah it’s it’s downhill and it’s if you get the win behind you Bryson talked about it today in his press conference Bryson said he can drive it but he’s not sure if he’ll try well he is yeah he’s I mean we’re talking about the guy who hits it the furthest and he says he might not try so let’s just go ahead and say you don’t really have a driveable par for you only got two par fives one of them is 617 yards so I mean I really think there’s only there’s a couple easy easier par fours there’s an unprotected par five in there um and the par 3es we’ve seen longer par 3es at at major tournaments but again these greens are really really difficult this could be the hardest golf tournament we’ve seen in a long time so we are going to see like we did last week but in a different way you will see guys who it looks like are right in the tournament be out of it in a hole all the time at any moment which is a a crazy part of it because if you make that one big mistake like you you will see people get tens at some point in this tournament H the the 16th hole the 16th hole is going to kill people out here it’s it is listed as a par four just to make the score look silly on the scoreboard it’s not it is a par five the 16th hole is a par five it might as well be it’s it’s what is it 520 yard Par Four something like that yeah and and if you look at like the t-shot the t-shot is the most intimidating t-shot you’ve ever seen you have to land it like perfect 300 plus yards and you’re still over 200 yards out if you do that yep like it’s and it’s a power for it is going to be a blood bath the 16th hole is going to be if you get to like 16 Sunday and like someone’s in the clubhouse one shot back of you the idea of trying to par out is not happening like it’s it’s I’m 16 17 18 are the hardest three holes on the course I think 17 is the 212 Yard part three that’s downhill with the back slope off the green like 18 you go uphill to that green with the the horrific like uh front edge like it’s going to be crazy dude this is going to be awesome yeah uh I’m anticipating I’m anticipating possibly the winner is overp par but um we’ll see I hope so yeah maybe not maybe not just to respond to what you guys were saying there um I didn’t take driving into consideration at all when I was picking my guys today um for the most part I figure everybody can get to the fr of the green and two and so I’m just going to leave that alone and I looked more at scrambling and around the green play because I think even if you are 150 160 yards out for your approach shot it’s basically impossible to hit these greens um and so I don’t even think a guy like Rory who’s goingon to play a shorter second shot than everybody has that big of an advantage um so like I said I didn’t look at driving at all I just get there in two get close into two and you’re as good as anybody else yeah yeah no I I do think there’s I think driving is less important than than approach play proximity around the green um I think you can almost you know if you talk about three putt avoidance bogey avoidance bogey avoidance is what I looked at y you know lag putting stuff like that me is just who thinks about the game better than everybody else who’s more strategically being strategic being smart picking your spots I mean this is all Scotty Sheffer stuff but there’s other guys like that out there and the opposite you just mentioned and Rory Roy Jordan spe like the the need the need to take this moment and say don’t flag hunt here is gonna be a big thing you know what I mean like what guys can make that choice what guys have Smart caddies I think matters here like these are little things that like you wouldn’t think about most tournaments but I think here it matters for sure I totally agree there’s a lot there’s a lot to consider this is going to be really fun um I think we can continue talking about some of this stuff within the realm of the bets so let’s get that sheet up let’s do it start talking about our strategies let’s start talking about how we approach this thing Etc all right so here are the oh let me get that ball off of Zach’s face okay here are the DraftKings lines um we will use for this DraftKings and fandel obviously people watching if you have better lines somewhere else use them there’s slightly better lines on different people in different places places shop them um but it’s easier to do the show this way uh so draftking Scotty going off three to one um we all understand why at this point right yeah like this is the best golfer in the world by quite a bit at this point um just in terms of the pure consistency you make the course this hard he’s the only one you know is gonna be there you know like he’s not going to kill himself uh he’s the most cons he’s the best at every aspect of golf besides putting but putting now he’s middle of the pack which we said all along if he becomes middle of the pack he’s going to win every tournament um he is so it makes sense that he’s three to one what do you want to talk about here do we want to start there do we want to go through a bunch of guys first um I mean we can start with Scotty no I say I say we start with a strategy conversation and do you guys think Scotty Sheffer is going to win this tournament yes yes I do okay I don’t yeah I do um but let’s talk about this kind of you said the golf coures strategy let’s let’s talk about betting strategy uh again we do it every week there’s two ways to do this you build a ladder with Scotty sheffler or you don’t think he’s gonna win you just play ball um but really in my estimation I don’t I know Brendan’s going to disagree with me I think there’s a short list of men who can win this golf tournament I don’t think I don’t think you know maybe there’s a Hidden Gem out there deep in the 8000s to 15,000 range I don’t know I there are when I look at each person’s name which I did scroll down look at each person’s name do a gut instinct think about that guy and say yes or no in my head I said no way more than I ever do I just I I just think this is up for grabs for 20 guys maybe 15 guys maybe you know not a ton I don’t I think you’re going to see if you’re not at the top of your game if you’re not one of the best players in the world you are going to fall off at some point in this tournament I that’s just the way I see it I really you know I could even narrow that 15 to 10 I I just think this is a very limited I think there’s a very limited experience here at Pinehurst could be wrong you know you’ve seen Michael Campbell who was a nobody pretty much win win here you saw Martin kimer who definitely was a really good golfer at the time and I believe even got to world number one so I don’t think but the name itself it kind of stands out like Oh Martin Martin K but I don’t think he’s I don’t think he was a you know a crazy long shot um and obviously Payne Stewart who died w three Majors was an incredible golfer uh so that wasn’t much of a surprise there too um rip pain Jim would have loved those hats um and those and those knickers but uh yeah uh his last major win Payne Stewart but yeah so so yeah other than Michael yeah I just don’t see I just don’t see a random guy I don’t see a random guy winning this golf tournament at all I don’t know someone jump someone jump in here we probably have a different definition of random I agree I think it has to be one of the better guys in the world who’s gonna win this tournament it’s not going to be a guy who’s you know uh 50th or 60th down the list it’s going to be one of your top guys like like Tom Kim Brendan that’s just just as an example that’s who I would consider obviously the amount we talk about golf the people watch the show probably he’s a household name for them but I’m saying he would be random in my mind like that so yeah here’s where we’re going to agree and disagree so I agree with you I think there is a large list of guys in this field who cannot win the tournament like Tom Kim like Tom Kim yes absolutely but I also think there is a much larger list than normal of guys who can well I don’t know what that means um because uh we’ve seen a lot of tournaments that you need to have one specific talent to win that tournament which is approach ball striking must have it this is not that you don’t have to have that you can be different you could be put it up close be the best lag putter be the best around the green player make a bunch of putts uh not make a ton of mistakes be a smart golfer there is so much more ways to win this tournament where we have we’ve had just a streak of you need to be the best guy at hitting irons from 170 yards or you can’t win this isn’t that it is and it isn’t like I think this is truly a well-rounded golfers experience I really do I think it’s uh you know I’m not tipping my ti my hand here but you know the games of Scotty Sheffer Xander shafley that kind of game where you’re doing everything well I think it really requires you to be locked locked in dialed in as all the pros say to everything I really think you must be dialed in so I yeah maybe you can be poor with your irons and have an incredible scrambling week but I’m not saying poor just you don’t so you Scotty’s Advantage is that he is so Elite at it but here 80% of elite iron shots are still going to roll off the green and be in the same place as the mediocre iron shot no maybe slight exagger in instead of these previous courses where the elite iron shot is going to be there here he could put all those iron shots right there and the other guy who left it 15 yards short their balls are sitting next to each other and then it’s who can play from there better that’s gonna happen a ton um so I do think I think this course massively undercuts a lot of Scotty skill he’s still the best player here he’s still got all the advantage he’s still also the best around the green player but he’s not going to have the same uh difference in approach shot numbers creating advantages without like he is going to in decisionmaking but I think there’s a lot of players who can find a different way to be in the same positions okay I I kind of agree with you but I don’t think you can just lean on one ECT of your game in this tournament and expect to be at the top of the list totally agree Jim you can’t be bad at anything yeah but you can be good at other stuff whereas we have been just in a huge streak on the PJ tour of must be great at Mid to Long irons I’m I’m say Bren Brendon I think there’s a scenario in which I think not a scenario I think it’s realistic that there’ll be some guys 14 15 Greens in regulation in in in their round you know it will be rare but and it might not and it that’s hard for me to believe I I don’t think that there will I I think we could see a couple rounds per day with you know 13 14 15 Greens in regulation I do I think Scot’s gonna have a big Advantage because he’s gonna stick four or five Greens in regulation it’s still golf though and like yes we are we’re we’re talking about exaggerated circumstances on the green but these guys are still incredible at stopping the ball uh these guys are creative I it will be a blood bath it will be hard it’s it’s a whole another story once you’re actually on that green what happens like but I I do think if you’re locked in you can have a nice day getting to the green I I don’t think I don’t I think it’s crazy to assume that not like nine out of 18 greens regulation gonna be a good day but I think it’s crazy to assume it’s unattainable to do a little bit better than that I think as the week go on Lower 16th the 16th hole last time they played here on Sunday the 16th hole on Sunday had one green in regulation the last time they played here on Sunday yeah one had one one that’s not very good the whole field um anyways yeah okay so that’s a good discussion um that is why I I don’t think Scotty wins the tournament because I think I think there’ll be enough people doing it different ways it’ll be tight enough and I think think there’ll be people in it with him um for different reasons I think a lot of his advantages will be undercut a little bit um and three to one isn’t doing it for me where I think I do think at some I do think there’s a massive element of this tournament that is putting um that and he’s great at long lag putting and he’s great his around the green is great too um I he’s I I would almost I think he’s an absolute lock to be top 10 he’s probably going to be be in the top three I just don’t think he’s going to win the tournament yeah I mean it’s like a coin flip really um you’re on one side of the coin I’m on the other Jim’s probably with Jim’s probably with me um I just think of all the tournaments that we’ve played he has the least advantages here yeah I agree with you when I said I I didn’t put any stock into driving and I thought everybody said proot was going to be right next to the green um but I still think Scotty’s going to stick more of them on theen everybody he’s still the best player yeah yeah I think for whatever you know whatever you want to say about all that it’s still Scotty Sheffer he’s probably the calmest guy in the field too on on a track that will test you mentally for sure um so I’ll I’ll start I’ll kick it off you want me to kick it off yeah kick it off all right since I won the nuclear whale 5un play last week I get to do it again I’m doing it again I’m going five units on Scotty sheffler at plus 300 to win this golf tournament um I’ve decided to go with the BET Scotty build a ladder approach try to hit two or three of them make an outrageous amount of money um you know I’ve put a lot of real life money on Scotty Sheffer here for this tournament we like real life money yeah yeah we do uh I put a lot of real life money on him last week I feel pretty good about it it it sucks that the payout is like a really bad baseball team playing the Dodgers it’s like when the Marlins win a game yeah right it’s like a white socks visiting the Dodgers you get plus 300 it’s but but you know that’s just the World of Golf we’re in right now so uh you know you look at how many times Scotty’s beaten the field and it’s a lot more than the white socks are beating the Dodgers it’s a great Point Jim another great another great Point Jim uh so yeah I’m going with the five the five unit nuclear whale piss missile uh at Plus at plus 300 for the US Open anytime you can work the word piss missile into conversation I’m about it so absolutely um I’m echoing Zach strategy this week I have also built a Scotty ladder I’m doing three units on him since I failed to hit my Nuclear whale play um so three units it is for all the same reasons um I think we should let him do four for a major totally fine major you can bet whatever you want let him do four for I’ll do four we do four um do four units on SK 4.9 four a regular whale four for a major but yeah all the same reason Scott is the best player in the world build a ladder behind him hope to hit more than one yeah um so yeah Brandon you obviously respect our choice but I know you disagree with it slightly I’m picking on the show what I think’s gonna happen I I obviously like remove this I I also have the fact that I have this parlay that I only had to bet $10 that now is plus 6,000 on Scotty but for me I genuinely don’t think he’s gonna win the tournament so it’s not gonna be my pick on the show um but I do like I even even with that like as an advice to people if you’re afraid of him a little just bet enough that it covers your other bets in case he wins he win 600 bucks off that like goal score hockey goal score parlay if he wins this tournament yeah just off 10 bucks that’s so that’s so cool so I got that cover in my ass that’s awesome what a great hedge without even meaning to that’s so so cool um all right so let’s so who’s Bron’s winner let’s talk no no let’s let’s before we get into his first pick let’s talk about Rory mroy here because he’s going to be the second most talked about person uh at this tournament he usually the first most talked about person I don’t know if he is I I don’t know if he is I get what you’re saying but I actually think two people are being talked about more than him yeah for I the point is he’s going to be talked about he hasn’t won the major in 10 years they they won’t stop talking about it yeah you know but uh I think we saw a hint of why I think Rory cannot win this Golf Tournament this week and I don’t actually think he can win I I don’t think there’s a scenario where he settles himself down to win this golf tournament we saw him unable to play the memorial like it was the memorial he had to play it he played it like it you know like it’s the cognizant or the or the Sony Open he would not put himself in position he tries to go 330 every hole he tries to a heroic shot play every tournament like he’s at that what’s it called Texas whatever mun yeah yeah the Valero or whatever yeah yeah uh he just plays everything like it has to be a heroic shot my new favorite joke that I that I created about him is that his goal on every shot is to put the ball into the hole even when he’s on the te everything else is a failure for him so uh yeah um look I’m rooting for him be awesome if he won because I love him but uh I don’t I don’t think this is the spot for him I don’t think he can avoid Bogies I don’t think he can avoid double bogey disasters I don’t think he gonna I don’t think he can calm himself down to make the right choice I think he sees 617 yard par five and he goes well I’m getting there in two ain’t nobody getting there in two buddy so that’s my opinion on Roy this week what do you guys think yeah I think you’re absolutely right I just don’t think uh Rory is mentally calm enough to play this course way it needs to be played I think he’s going to try to overpower it and this isn’t a course that can be overpowered um I think it’s require a lot more finesse than Rory has in this bag um I wouldn’t be surprised if he was a top 20 finisher but I don’t think he’s gonna be anywhere near the close top leaderboard I’m with you Jimmy yeah I I think he absolutely is a top 20 finisher um uh I agree so my my my opinion on this this is going to sound stupid but it I follow it I think you’ll probably kind of agree with me my opinion on this is exactly what both of you had just said two days ago I think it’s a huge assist for him to be able to have his first two rounds be with Scotty and Xander because he is playing with the two people are going to play the course the smartest of anyone on the course and like and he gets to hit last on every hole no because the I think him playing with the guys who are the best two players and not feeling like oh like where showing off for someone else he’s actually below them like in term so he doesn’t need to be like look what I I think it might help him settle his game down and just try and match what they’re doing because he knows the calest two if he matches what those two do in like if you’re thinking in his head if I match these two I’m going to be winning the tournament like so instead when he’s with some random guy it’s like I should beat this guy by 10 so he’s trying oh that guy’s here I’m 50 yards past him he’s go he’s laying I’m going to but if he’s with Scotty and in or they’re laying up he might be like maybe that’s what I should do too I’m I’m a little concerned that they might help him dial himself back and my second concern is Rory has become awesome around the greens in the last like month and a half he’s been unreal at it um those are my concerns I still don’t think he can manage to not have four triple Bogies um so right that I’m just painting what I’m scared of I am scared that that will help him it’s a fair point I like the argument um solid I don’t think it’s enough though yeah um okay so yeah I mean this is still Rory mroy if you get rid of the Pebble Beach proam the first ter of the year he hasn’t finished worse than than 33rd Place and most of them are he has he only has two not top 25s this year his last five events are first 1 12th 4th 15th he’s definitely playing good golf we obviously expect him to win golf tournaments so when he doesn’t we pile on it pretty harshly but he is definitely playing good golf with a you know it’s actually been the driver that held him back in Canada it’s the driver that kind of held him back last week Memorial so driver’s not that important here and the rest of his game’s going really well I mean maybe I shouldn’t have said he can’t win but uh and he he definitely does have the drive the driving Advantage for certain people is big and he will have that here which is that he will have reasonable approach shots um because of his driving distance that is an advantage I just don’t I don’t think it’s a bomb and gouge kind of course spred there’s no gouging it’s it’s a bomb and you there you are there’s no gouging well I by gouge I mean you have a wedge as your second shot no I understand but usually you say that because you’re like sometimes you’re in the rough and stuff there isn’t that like you can bomb and just have like deal with the fact that once in a while you’re going to be in a little Bush thing but like most of the other time you’re just going to have a much shorter shot than everyone else in and if you’re using a shorter iron you can stop it on a green that other people can’t are we talking about shrubs that grow at the ground level are we talking about like shrubs you’d see in someone’s yard wiass Stu so it’s Wire Grass they’re the little like really hard wire grass rubs where if you’re in it or behind it you literally can’t move the ball more than like two feet you just have to punch out yeah but they’re they’re about 20% of the off the Fairway area the rest is just dirt um if so if you hit it in that area 80% of the time you’re still fine and it’s for these guys it’s no different than hitting off the Fairway um the rest though is a disaster so you can just be like I’ll gamble with that and most of the time I’ll be fine and here and there I’ll have to lay up um so I actually do think definitely can play that way and I think he will um so yeah no I my problem with Rory is just I think Rory still has too often that he Yanks that approach iron and then he’s going to be short-sided and then he’s going to have a disaster or he overcooks it and he goes over the back of the green and then it’s a disaster he’s gonna have some of those because he can’t help himself yeah yeah it’s gonna be hard for him to avoid a double bogey per round in my opinion which I do think he’s going to get a big Advantage with his driving yeah using a nineiron versus a six iron on your second shot if you’re try to drop it right on top of those because you can stop it and other people can’t yeah all right brenon why don’t you give us your first pick um should I because I mean he’s not I mean I have a pick here but it’s not my like a I have who I think’s going I have two people who I think are going to win the tournament and then I have like a one other one up here because I like the betting style the I I decided to do I know we do top three outrights I did four outrights this week because we’re talking about the US Open and they’re all win withouts so they’re going to have to be shown on FanDuel so I don’t know how we want to handle okay so here’s how I’m doing it because we you know let’s just do how we’re betting the thing we don’t need to have that many I have two outright outrights and then I actually have three win withouts so it’s actually five bets but it is what it is um that’s fine fine with me I got I got a bunch of stuff so I will give you do you want to talk about any of these other guys or yeah of course of course I mean come back to them I mean yeah I mean we can talk at doy about each and every guy on the screen it’s just how do we want to do this really okay I’ll give you my first the guy the guy think’s going to win the golf tournament um it makes me scroll a little bit but uh I’ll just do it um my pick to win the golf tournament is Matt Fitzpatrick plus 4500 um Matt Fitzpatrick is a US Open Champion uh he won the last time it was on an impossible Golf Course uh he played phenomen Al Thursday and Sunday uh last weekend Sunday he was awesome um I think he’s actually playing really good he is the definition of smart golfer in tough conditions I love this golf course for him I think it suits all of his game um he he plays smart we’ve seen him win a US Open before I think he’s actually starting to play really well he’s a great lag putter he’s great uh creative golfer there’s a lot of creativ it here um he is actually driving the ball really well now uh and dude he looked really good Sunday he he had the lead for a while on Thursday had two bad holes that blew that I I love Matt Fitzpatrick here I think this is this sets up for him just like the US Open that he won before uh Matt Fitzpatrick’s my pick to win outright I love him here plus 4500 yeah I mean I have a some concerns was around the green clay I don’t think he’s quite as good off the te approach doesn’t really matter his putting is certainly good he’s certainly clever uh so I can get behind him on that regard but I I have a hard time believing he’s gonna beat some of these guys at the top of the list yeah I’m with Jim I I do think it’s a cool pick though like I don’t hate the pick at all no I don’t mean it to sound condescending like I’m not being cool I literally think he’s gonna win no I’m not saying I’m not on my board I I like the guy I just don’t think he can beat Scotty and Xander and Rory and yeah I mean he can’t he can but you know like his form has been off and on this year um he hasn’t exactly shown up big time in both Majors he’s been he’s been hanging around but yeah you know I don’t I can’t stand his cross-handed chipping I don’t his numbers have actually kind of leveled off since he he started so hot with that cross-handed chipping he’s one of the best Chippers in the world he’s kind his stats are kind of mediocre CH now that should that could be a big factor here he might he is one of the best Putters in the world though um so that could be a big Advantage for sure I don’t hate the pick I don’t hate the pick I just uh I guess I’m just a little surprised by it but but I I I think it’s a nice pick that’s my first pick Matt Fitz Patrick you’re going to be surprised by all my picks I think yeah for sure you’re because are about as vanilla and boring as it gets yeah mine are not yeah um Jim do you have stuff on DraftKings here for outright winners or uh are we going I have an outright winner that’s just kind of silly that I’m going to throw five dollar at um and that’s hoard at plus 25,000 not gonna win what I’m just I said not gonna win he was right in it in the Masters I I’m giving this guy a shot but he’s not really part of my ladder that I truly believe in okay but if the people wanted know what my bets are though I have him on my card call that an add-on well it’s no longer it’s no longer it’s a comedy routine at this but yeah yeah yeah okay I’m betting Colin Montgomery to win for five Colin Montgomery is gonna play the course a lot smarter than Nikolai oh way smarter yeah hoard could play it the best you’ve ever seen he’s gonna get that quadruple bogey at some point yep absolutely probably on 16 on Sunday so shout out to Ras though great weekend in Sweden for Rasmus got into like the top the top 20 so good for him um Brendon you got another uh DK outright winner so let us have it dog yeah this was a uh this was a I worked my way through so much to get here um I had a lot of thoughts I had a lot of guys I got a list of like 30 dudes I liked I had to narrow it I had to think about other angles I had to think about what I want here what I like here when it came down to it you know this is the right direction to go uh you know I had to think about a lot of stuff I’m going Brooks kka plus 2200 um really hard golf is Brooks Golf uh and I I love Brooks when everyone stops saying Brooks so everyone got hot on Brooks the the last couple um I’m taking Brooks here Brooks is really good at these hard course where you do have to play smart where you have to start just hitting the ball in the right spots and hitting it straight and hitting those long lag putts uh I I like Brooks here a lot uh I’m gonna take Brooks plus who’s the last player to win a major overpar is is it Brooks it’s Brooks kepa plus plus one over at uh Beth Paige black I believe a while back in 2018 I think so yeah he was T4 last time they played here too so yeah and he was a nobody yeah um yeah can’t argue with it um I haven’t seen anything out of him at all this year to make me think he can win a golf tournament but it’s still Brooks kepco his form is is a little off but I don’t know if that matter I think if you’re talking about current form I think this is one of the guys that matters least the most to um it matters you get what I’m saying it doesn’t matter as much to this guy or you know to betters when you’re thinking about current form um so yeah I mean let’s just do this really quick he’s my big scary um you know I don’t have him anywhere in my sheet but I kept staring at his name and going I’m gonna regret this I’m gonna regret this over and over and over again uh just because you know he is Brooks Kea he’s got five maters he’s one to us two US opens uh this what he does so and I need need not remind you that like in my life I have been the Brooks kepa picker yeah you’ve you’ve uh you’ve done real good on Brooks ke for sure um without you I haven’t picked him yet this year this is the first time I picked him without you around I probably wouldn’t have put money on him on the PGA last year so I appreciate that um okay so you got Brooks Kea you’ve got uh Matt Fitzpatrick Jim and I have given out Scotty sheffler Jim’s giving out uh stand up stand up live at the at the laugh at the laugh Center okay um all all the rest of mine live on FanDuel I don’t know how you want how do you want to do this brendo uh no let’s go over to FanDuel um because I have uh some there as well um we can do the win without Scotty we can do the win without four people yeah my first two are are win without Scotty they’re both vanilla picks um I did one of these because I wanted Jackson subber Jackson sub uh locked away because he’s such a clear [Laughter] favorite he probably he’s already in the clubhouse at minus two he probably added to the field but yeah but yeah all right the win without Scotty I I figured I needed to pick one in this category to to have someone up here for my sake um so I took one I’ll let you say yours though Z well hang on I now want to I’m gonna be difficult now because this is US Open I’m trying to get my value I’m now uh I’m I’m line shopping yeah we’re gonna have to line shop these because I they’re much win without Scotty is way better on DraftKings so bring me back there to the winner without yeah not going to Short change myself on the that’s what we’re doing here come on um I got these lines I placed these bets on Sunday night much better odds but you know they are what they are now for the show um my first one without Scotty Sheffer is pretty simple it’s Sandra shafley the winner of the last major the guy who’s seemingly in second place to Scotty sheffler a lot uh you know I don’t need to give actually you know we haven’t really discussed him so yeah he’s just a solid allaround golf ER he doesn’t make gigantic mistakes he’s such a good six to eight foot four to eight foot putter he’s so good in that range he’s smart golfer he doesn’t see his his Mis variance is very low um you know he’s just PL he PLS along and he gets the job done I think it’s a safe play um you’re probably gonna see my picks in this tournament and go those were pretty lame I don’t mind feeling pretty lame here for that the difficulty of this tournament at the US Open um at Pinehurst so yeah I’m going win without Scotty Sheffer I’m going Xander shafley at plus 900 for two units yeah I mean he’s my big scary um I I have Xander nowhere on my card uh when I was building my ladder so there’s the win without Scotty then there’s the win without all the big dogs and so I thought one of the big dogs had to be in my wom without Scotty and so I debated Xander versus Colin I like Colin a little bit more so I went with Colin instead of Xander which makes Xander kind of have to be my big scary in this um but for sure I mean there’s no there’s no reason not to bet on Xander he’s the second best player in the world um I don’t think he quite has that Killer Instinct I know he finally got his win but I don’t trust him to go out there and take a tournament well he got he got his win at at the Essex miniature golf course down the road at at the putt putt off yeah yes he he won the putt putt challenge but and in order to in order to do so a a police officer removed the best player that’s true I I still refus to take away a major victory at all of course of course and it was sick he beat great players at the end beat Colin morawa Bryson to Shambo and Victor hoflin at the end yeah yeah yeah it was a great performance but it was literally at the the local miniature golf course yeah it was just a who can make more 12 foot putts yeah it was it was like Aaron judge hitting 62 home runs in the Yankee Stadium okay whoa whoa whoa Jimmy just kidding just kidding around Jimmy um Jim you said you said uh a thing that is exactly actually the opposite of how I made this decision not to touch him um you said I don’t there’s no reason not to bet Xander chawley second yes there’s a great reason not to bet him do you look at Xander shafley and say wins two majors in a row guy nope no no that’s I think he finishes in second place which is exactly right yeah I think finishes in eighth place yeah he probably it probably will like it’s it’s fine I just think there’s a decent enough value here for the quality of player to take him and and avoid Scotty sheffler to take him in a win without like I said I’m going to be playing it pretty safe this week so yeah Ian like I said I took Colin in this in this spot with a win without Scotty I worry about his putting but his around the green plays and his iron play is phenomenal so I like him there you shouldn’t worry about his putting he’s been putting he he he he missed putts at Valla but he wasn’t bad putting like there’s a difference between just having a time where the putts don’t go in versus you being bad at putting he’s putted great he puted so so good last week there’s not a big difference though between your putts not going in and being bad at putting it’s the same result no no it’s actually a massive difference because that he doesn’t ever three putt um and that that is a gigantic difference his putting his bad putting is the putt missing by an inch other people are bad at putting he hasn’t won this year both players lose right fully I just to totally dis like what’s the point of the de like understands Jim understands the difference that you’re that the line that you’re drawing Jim’s point though that neither of those guys you’re talking about win is actually pretty valid well except Colin has two majors he does win yes but but we’re talking about this year right now his how is putting’s been back and forth this year it’s my only concern about Colin playing this week it’s all I’m saying yeah but Brandon is Right Jimmy the putting stat are really good the lasts are fantastic talking about one you’re talking about Sunday at Valhalla the putts didn’t go in I mean his putter was on fire on on the weekend of the memorial okay so um and so that said in putting below average my one win my one win without is Colin marawa also plus 12200 um I like I like Colin a lot here in this group I like him by far the most of this group um I if I was thinking about the group of guys um like at the top I really like the guys who can stop the ball and hit the ball high uh because you need to hit the ball high to stop the ball on these greens and colins’s little uh soft fade he can stop on all these greens um I really like Collins’s ability to actually land the ball in a lot of these greens he’s also a very good so Jim mentioned the putting but I think the more important kind of putting here is your long putting not being a three putt and colins’s a very good long putter um lag putting leaving it to within a tapin range um instead of running it past it off you know an extra six feet or whatever which is going to be a nightmare here if you do that so I really like Colin here because I think he’s won a really smart golfer um I think he’s hitting the ball so confidently to not put himself in horrible positions and he can stop the ball in places there is Extreme value at this golf course in having a Carefree two to three-footer for par like that there is so much value in that and yeah so lag putting is going to be extremely important I I’m jumping on the train um I also have win without Scotty Sheffer I have Colin morawa as well at plus 1200 we all have that bet I’m doing two units on that too so I’ve got two units on Xander win without Scotty two units on Colin without Scotty um they’re just the two most consistent guys behind Sheffer right now I was kind of surprised to see and it’s it’s not like he has a bad ranking here but Colin is 22nd in bogey avoidance we’re talking about him being a smart player I really thought he was going to be higher up the list you’re You Forget before Augusta he was the worst player on tour the stats are so distorted he was awful he was missing every cut if you go from Augusta to now he’s the third best player in the world remember remember we Brandon and I I don’t know if you joined us but Brandon and I had Colin to miss the cut at the Masters that’s how bad he was playing we had we had bet him on the show to miss the cut at the Masters because he was playing like a donkey he has been incredible sense that if you could isolate the stats from that point he’s literally top five in every category since Augusta yeah I would I would think so I mean you can look at his finishing his finishing results and it’s night and day after the Masters yeah yeah so those numbers are just wildly pulled down by by pre Augusta it’s almost half and half really so uh yeah we’re all on I love how I this this show is fun because we’re all betting the guy but we’re having a spirited argument about him yeah this is you know this what we you got to talk about we’ve all got one without Scotty Chef we’ve all got Mor CWA there um that’s the only place I think where I’m gonna be the same as you guys okay anything else uh from win without J sheffler guys no I got I got two win without four peoples I’ve got two win I’ve got one win without the top four on FanDuel um I have four people written down that I need to narrow down and I’m going to do that on the Fly okay I love it love it all right let’s go to the win without four peoples um do you want to go first sack uh I have two we could you want me to go first um yeah I only have one you go first I’ll go then you go all right my first win without four peoples um is Keegan Bradley plus 5500 um obviously I’ve been on the the Keegan Bradley’s back train for about a month now uh I’ve been very right about that uh I can’t seem to win the damn tournament um but he came in third three weeks ago um he was in second uh this weekend until he had a a big old blowup played a good weekend at balla too yeah uh Keegan is playing great Keegan came in second last time this tournament was here uh Keegan hits the ball SC high high uh which I think is huge here like I said already I like guys who are going to be able to stop the ball here Keegan also is very very good on Bermuda grass which this is Bermuda he’s potting unbelievable the last month um I just love Keegan Bradley here he’s a very strategic golfer again I think he’s playing really well I think all of his skill set fits this course um and he has major experience in success uh and is really coming into his game lately uh you removed two holes from last weekend and and boom uh and yeah you know it is what it is I I really like Keegan here uh so Keegan win without the four guys plus 5500 yeah mine is h a quick scroll up to a ma all another M former major winner um we’ll get there shortly I assume you got to tell me who yeah Hideki at plus 2500 this really stinks honestly these he was plus 3500 on Sunday night when I when I placed this bet so at least I got the value but I won’t get it on the show um I also have Hideki here yeah I just you know he’s got an explosive game he’s he’s a smart thinking golfer too he’s disciplined um he’s struggles sometimes to putt I think it matters a lot less here he’s a very good lag putter kind of the same as Colin and where when he does Miss putts he’s not missing him egregious ly he just struggles in that mid-range making birdies sometimes but yeah we know about hideki’s ball striking uh we know his creativity around the green he’s an excellent chipper um I think he has a chance to be right in the mix here uh almost kind of quietly he uh didn’t play great Thursday and Friday the memorial he played really well on Saturday Sunday um he did have I think best round in the field on Sunday yeah yeah I I think yeah I think he was minus four on Sunday he had a couple blowup holes here and there but uh who didn’t last week really so um I think he’s in good enough form I like eliminating the top four players here and and saying he can finish uh in the top five so I’m gonna go Matsuyama for one unit win without the top four yeah I picked him here just because like you were saying his a around the green is the best part of his game his approach is the second best part of his game I think that’s going to be the two most important things here just get the ball near the green get the ball on the green then tap it in pars are good scores and so you know those are the things he can do for me yeah par is like a birdie here really yeah yeah this place is wild so um yeah I I have I have no issue at all with the hiki pick I’m very scared of him this week um he’s you see your big scary he’s he was certainly in the rankings of big scary um there’s I’ve got a lot of big scaries here we disagree totally we disagree about how this tournament works I think a lot of people can win at some point in this show you’ll have to give your official big scary pick I will I have I have a couple they’re they’re I have a couple big scaries and it can’t be Scotty sheffler because he’s a universal big scary duh okay duh come on big scary is 50 5050 to win yeah yeah I’m not scared of a guy who if he wins I get $600 um yeah so I I like the Hideki pick obviously hideki’s fantastic fantastic stick around the greens great approach player can get so lightning hot with the irons the other part we didn’t mention that I think is huge here is you have to be a good bunker player on this course because you’re gonna be in bunkers yeah there’s 111 of them on the so you’ve got to be a good bunker player and there’s a lot of really difficult ones and there’s a lot that you’re going to just fall into off greens where you’re then gonna have to make a good bunker shot out I almost think on some of these bunker shots or on some of these approach shots I wonder if some guys will be if they’re too scared of the do itself I wonder if they will be airing on the side of going the bunker because you can generate Spin and try to stop the ball out of a bunker maybe some maybe somewhat better than if you have a a a flat lie on a chip or a downhill lie on a chip where you can’t stop the ball as well so that’ll be it’ll depend on pin placements if there’s bunkers that aren’t short-sided maybe but and I don’t think you’re GNA get too many uphill chips here which obviously helps stop the ball a great deal because of the way these greens are designed and the runoffs are designed I think it’s mostly flat or you’re in a bunker right well there’s a lot of uphill because you’re going to fall off false fronts and then you’re going I don’t mean uphill from I don’t mean uphill from the lie to the hole I mean the actual lie itself oh yeah yeah yeah you’re almost always goingon to roll back out into a flat area yeah ex or you’re gonna roll out into the the brush uh or into a bunker um yeah so yeah so I’m just saying my point is I wonder if guys will be thinking about like they’re happy to be in a bunker if they miss certain holes on certain days with certain pin placements the problem is if if you’re short sided in a bunker it’s a disaster so it’s really going to all depend right we’ll see how it plays out I think a lot of guys I think a lot of guys who who are trying to play really smart are going to try to put themselves in places that are short of the green where they can putt I think that’s what a lot of guys are GNA try to do yeah yeah um so you like I do like the pick um did anyone else have more here I don’t have any more top four out uh win without outs now I do oh what do you got um I’m nervous because I don’t know if this guy can actually win anything but his numbers all tell me he should be right there I’m going Alex noran plus 6500 um I love his game I don’t know why he doesn’t have more T5 finishes I guess it’s down to plus 6,000 now um yeah I’m scratching my head as to why he’s not getting better finishes but his game is all around solid he’s greated around the green he’s great off the te good at approach his putting is probably the worst part of his game but it’s still really good um so I mean maybe one of you guys can answer that for me why why isn’t he a perennial top five guy I mean he he I mean he’s perennial great like he’s currently since since February 1 he has only had one tournament where he finished outside the top 26 yeah doesn’t to like compete for the win though you I’m just saying like he’s playing so consistently good um and that kind of good I agree with you I actually think like make it harder and harder and harder brings him closer to the lead of the tournament because his goodness is like he’s not getting enough birdies um but he is not making mistakes I I I think why he has why it feels like he can’t win is pretty simple he has Z career PGA T wins he’s 41 years old yeah he’s kind of hitting like a late Prime of his career like uh I don’t he’s just dialed he’s just dialed he’s dialed he’s he’s figured some things out he’s playing nice consistent golf I just I don’t think if I don’t think at this age he’s gonna suddenly develop you know the ability to win a bunch of D golf tournaments he might win one you know he might win one you know might win too but I mean his stats right now project to winning a golf tournament like you know what I’m say like he’s he’s second on tour in bogey avoidance in the last four months to Scotty Sheffer by by the standard he has personally set for himself on this season on the PGA tour uh he’s in the worst form he’s been in the entire year really with with being cut in Canada and finishing 22nd last last week um before that had an incredible run of I mean he still has nine out of 10 top 25 since March 3rd so I mean this guy’s playing incredible golf um so I don’t hate the BET Jim if you’re eliminating the four guys if one of those guys I’m not betting him just without Scotty I want to get rid of all those top guys yeah I just don’t think he can win the golf tournament either but I do think he can certainly be in the top five yeah he definitely can especially in a tournament where if if you get to the point where the winner is like minus one or even par that you have a guy there who more likely than not is going to be playing in the golf tournament on Sunday and like sometimes when that’s the score like top 20 are all within like one shot of that yeah he’s almost in this section of guys if you’re just putting a gun to my head and say this guy has to make the cut I might just pick him out of out of like anybody so I don’t hate the bet at all do you want me to give my last one here does anybody else have one I I have one that I really really like Al why don’t you alternate all right um my last one is Jason Jason day plus 5500 um I absolutely love this golf course for Jason day I think he’s the absolute sleeper of this entire field here I almost guarantee he will be in the top 10 of this tournament um I think he will be in the fight for this tournament on Sunday I think everything about his game is this golf course I think this golf course is built for Jason day’s game um first of all this golf course is very Australian like Australia golf is like this um where you can pot in front of the green where you have a lot of turtle shells where you have not rough but you got like the wispy with sand all that’s very Australian Jason day also does sneaky bomb the driver um and has the second highest uh trajectory of iron shots on the whole tour I love everything Rory right behind Rory uh I was just looking at it I think it’s Rory uh no it’s Bryson Rory him yeah so high in the air he really does um everything about Jason day’s game I love here he’s also sneaky been playing pretty good all year but never that good but like dude Sunday at Augusta he was in it uh he’s also an elite short game in putter 100% this course suits him he has tons of history of competing in Majors um I I think he’s just kind of flown under the radar but he’s always a guy who can pop I think this course is like exactly Jason D he was T4 here in 2014 I love this golf course for Jason day I I think he can absolutely out win I think he will be in the top 10 so I really like this plus 5500 yeah you make make a great argument for it um and he’s gonna be dressed fly as hell oh you just took it from me I was G I was gonna say I’m more concerned about his outfits that he’s planning this week um yeah Not a Bad Bet Jim what’s your last uh top four so it’s funny that Brennon was going with Jason day um I spent a lot of time looking at the little trapezoids on pga.com with the uh stats and my guy’s trapezoid is almost exactly identical to Jason DA’s at uh plus 11,000 I’m going with McKenzie Hughes um who is also phenomenal at putting and around the green doesn’t do much off uh approach and off the te but like I said I do not care about that at all this week U just get the ball down near the green get up and down give me my pars get me a birdie or two over the weekend and uh we’ll be right there at the top but you should go look at how similar Jason d Mackenzie hughes’s trapezoids are I like I like the logic Jim Jim I love McKenzie Hughes here I I I like he he’s he was on my when I made a little list of the guys McKenzie Hughes was on my list because I think all the all the reasons that you’re seeing a lot of people guy we haven’t mentioned the reason you’re seeing a ton of people love cam Smith this week you should love McKenzie Hughes more because he’s a better golfer right now um because they’re so good around the green at like making miracles happen like making the ball go in the hole from like trouble um putting it chipping and long putting where they can do all sorts of creative stuff mcken Hugh is also really good long iron player um he’s sprays he’s a little bad off the te at times kind of bad from like mid-range but he’s actually really good long irons um and then he just a incredible long Putter and and around the green player I love McKenzie Hughes here Jim I think it’s a great pick yeah no problem with it he could play awful but he also can like be like top five but you’re getting 110 to one on your money not a guy who could definitely be there yeah Brandon one quick dig on Jason dck just for fun not because I actually believe it yeah I don’t think he’s probably probably hasn’t played in Australia in like 20 years dude does that Ma the Australian guys play better in the Australian type tournaments you know just messing around I’m just messing around just messing around just for fun if you guys want to know who I crossed off in that category I crossed off aberer and bazen Hoot yeah bazen H’s been real hot lately oh oh in the in the this I I I got a lot of cross offs yeah I don’t even want to mention them for for fear of for fear of summoning them to my door you know I know I know but I I now don’t have I don’t think I have oer anywhere on my card this week look out buddy yeah I know it’s trouble it’s big scary number two I got no aberer anywhere too he’s he can be our group Collective big scary unless Brendon because we it’s extra scary because we love him so much let’s do a little recap for the audience if we’re done with our outright and win without I think I think L ludvig comes in 14th okay great great Brendan thank you thank you for the Insight exactly you heard it here first folks exactly 14th Place get on that market get get on that market can you bring me to the exactly 14th Place please yeah um wow I wish I could bet that let’s let’s recap the uh let’s recap our picks here for for the for the viewers I’ll start off I’m doing a nuclear whale uh piss missile um all the chips Scotty Sheffer to win outright plus 300 five units then I’m doing win without Scotty Sheffer Xander shafley plus 900 for two units win without Scotty Sheffer Colin morawa plus 12200 for two units and then win without the top four which is Sheffer mroy shafley and moraa I’m doing hii mat Yama at plus 2500 for one unit Jimbo uh I have a similar ladder like Zach did um I have four units on Scotty to win outright uh to win without Scotty I have uh Colin morawa at plus 1200 uh to win without Scotty Rory Xander or Colin I have Hideki at 2500 to one or plus 2500 rather uh Alex Doran plus 6,000 and then I have McKenzie Hughes at plus 11,000 love it Jim uh sheffer’s four units and the rest are all one correct uh yes Brandon all right um my I I didn’t say units I do have some a couple or more than say those here um so I will go in order of odds and like how it’s listed but my favorite is Matt Fitzpatrick but I’ll say this way I have Brooks to win outright plus 22002 units okay Matt Fitzpatrick to win outright plus 4500 two units uh Colin Mor win without Scotty sheffler plus 12200 one unit uh Keegan win without the top four guys plus 5,500 one unit and Jason day win without the top four plus 5500 one unit can I actually mine I want to do uh I want to do two units on both Colin and Hideki go for it yeah go for it locked in this yeah locked in it’s gonna be hard for me to get to to get off the show Brendon and not put a little money on Matt p Fitzpatrick and Jason day now do it just do it okay that concludes I think I think like that you see the logic of both even if you disagree right sorry I thought way too much about this I spent two days is all I thought about of of course I do of course I do I totally understand okay uh that concludes our outright winner segment time to go back to DraftKings time to get the placements going should have bet top five uh these are our placement bets uh let’s start I got four of them uh there three of them are within this page one is a top 20 um so let’s let’s start off with doing the ones that are on this page then we’ll do the top 20s and and further afterwards um I’ll get it started uh I’m let’s do my long shot one first let’s go down to top five it’s going to be plus 1600 in the top five um yeah maybe it’s worse now of course everything no everything get worse everything gets worse keep going keep going unbelievable there yeah it’s gotten way worse overnight of course no sunj IM at plus 1200 now for a top five finish he’s sneaky on fire he that’s that’s my point he’s sneaky talk about being scary yeah he’s sneaky on fire he’s just a steady steady golfer he’s just a really good golfer he absolutely pounds the driver he’s solid with the accuracy from the Fairway he just does it all well he seemingly chips in from the bunker like two times around like he played awesome on the weekend to get himself in the top 10 at the memorial I think he was outright fourth dude I think he’s been in the top five in these last four tournaments yeah I’m gonna take a quick I’m gonna take a quick peek actually because he’s just remember he was very bad at the beginning of the year we talked about he was playing too much go then he went to that Korea tournament and won and then he came back hot yeah he’s played PGA but he’s been top 12 in his last four events yeah yeah precisely Jim precisely Jim yeah he had some Cuts in there cut he actually’s been cut at both Majors so far I think a player of his quality he just won’t be cut at three straight major tournaments um yeah he’s top other than that cut he’s top 10 the last three tournaments so I like the value I’m getting sure liked it a lot more at plus 1600 but I’m g go sjm top five at plus 12200 for one unit uh Brendon uh go ahead um all right we’re going to be all I have so many so just just do just do top fives and top 10 now and then we’ll move on to other categories all right uh my first top 10 I’m going to try to go like like where I do the shorter odds first um my first my first top 10 is Tony feno plus 450 Tony fow is sneaky on fire um he’s he’s coming in the top 10 in every tournament right now uh he’s very bad at Short putting but he’s actually very good at long putting and I think this course kind of Suits him pretty well um with his ability to hit pretty accurate long irons um and he’s been really great off the team uh Tony’s just been sneaky in every tournament recently uh give me Tony feno top 10 plus 450 yeah um he’s playing very nicely uh other than a couple mid-50s performances he’s been top 20 one two three four five of the last seven tournaments he’s played so uh including the PGA Championship so he’s definitely in good form um and I like like the pick because doesn’t really ever seemed to win a big tournament but he seems to be hanging around most of them yeah uh Jimmy you got something here for us uh yeah let me see I have um Matt Fitzpatrick top 10 at plus 360 um Bron did a pretty good rundown on him earlier but he’s pretty creative he’s decent around the greens I think he’s a smart enough player to get the job done plus 360 yeah uh my next two top 10s are both way at the top and they’re both pretty simple um Mr consistency Xander shley yeah three units on plus 110 for top 10 and then I’m doing two units on Rory mroy um top 10 uh two units on plus 120 for him so those are my last two uh placement bets in this section yeah while while we’re right here I also have two bet two units on Xander top 10 and I have uh 2.75 units on Scotty top 10 okay all right I like those I like those guys um all right I’ll do uh this one uh Tommy Fleetwood top 10 plus 300 uh two units on that please two units on Tommy Fleetwood top I liked him here I liked him here a lot this week but I couldn’t I couldn’t bring myself to put him on the sheet because he’s such a disappointment well yeah no he’s G to be he’s gonna be ninth right right right right eighth or ninth probably elth but yeah he’s sneak he’s sneaky playing like good bad golf like he always does right now like if you go look at his results every result is like somewhere between 15th and eth yeah I said I lik him here this week huh yeah I said I liked him here this week yeah and I think this cor is actually really nice for him he’s very creative golfer he has a bit of everything uh so Tommy excellent putter usually two units Tommy plus 300 top 10 um what should I keep going should I don’t know what you want to do what I have two more in the top 10 I do two uh I’ll do one more up here because I have one more up here kind of um if I know where you need to excuse me for two seconds you guys finish this category I’ll be right back no I want you to be here uh all right uh the only one up here still Terrell Hatton top 10 plus 400 um I love hatton’s you know explosive creative game for here Hatton is a very like he’s going to throw little fits out here he’s going to have fun four to one on him to get in the top 10 he’s been a major top 10 machine uh he comes in seventh in every major uh I he did bad at the PGA but the PGA was not a good layout for him um I like this tournament for him it’s much more his kind of game uh he is a miracle worker on long putts and crazy wedge stuff uh so I think he’ll have some really bad holes uh which is why I don’t like him to win but I think he’ll also like have maybe a couple of the best rounds so give me Terrell Hatton top 10 plus 400 nice um I am taking Bryson to Shambo T10 um kind of goes against a little bit kind of my theory this whole thing uh he’s going to be longer than most guys he’s going to have shorter irons coming into the green which I think it’s going to help him uh he’s also played very well at both the two previous Majors it’s kind of my only logic I want to mix in a live guy here uh so Bryson two to one to be top 10 yeah about his game kind of feels like it he should play well everyone is picking him um I was tempted to put him on the sheet but uh yeah I just I don’t like how he’s kind of L played the last two Live Events kind of lazily so I that I don’t care about that um but I do think I think he played like as good as he can possibly play in two majors already I have a hard time believing to do that third one yeah that’s fine yeah that’s fair argument yeah 10 top 10’s reasonable though um all right my I have one more top 10 uh it’s a long one uh where okay top 10 and it’s Cam Davis uh we’re running Cam Davis back from uh my masters bet on him to be top 20 that I won uh Cam Davis is really good on hard golf courses um and he’s also I I’ve already alluded to this I think there’s an advantage to the Australian style golf here um because this golf course is very similar to the Australian golf courses um Cam Davis also a guy who hits the ball Sky High he hits the ball the fifth highest trajectory on approach on the tour um I like Cam Davis here plus 1600 to get into the top 10 uh he had to qualify for this tournament um in the the super long Monday where he played 36 holes and then had to go to a playoff and then won the playoff in three holes so he’s already had to play really good compe golf for the last week to get here uh so for a lot of re and I think this is a stage he’s already shown he can show up on so give me Cam Davis top 10 plus 1600 it’s a sick odds for that you know for sure okay uh my last one in the t10s is echoing one of my uh win withouts uh I’m taking McKenzie Hughes at T10 plus 1100 boom boom there he is maybe he maybe he played a little in Australia as a kid who knows um we’re just I’m just having fun out here all right let’s go let’s go over the top 20s or or one I’m taking I’m taking Ricky Fowler nowhere near the top 10 at all not even effing close not even close he could be the first one to play he could have the first tea time and he still would never be near the top 10 all week he did finish second here in 2014 yeah yeah he sure did a long time ago sure was sure was um top 20s uh you guys got me yep I’ve got one singular top 20 and that’s it for my placement bets all right um yeah I’ll just do a guy that doesn’t really make sense here the profile doesn’t make sense the discip lack of discipline makes no sense to bet him here uh his major record it makes no sense to bet him here but I’m going to do Max hom top 20 plus 165 no real argument oh now it’s plus 180 okay finally something got better for me in the odds um yeah no real argument he’s just you know he’s a talented golfer he he might I think there’s plenty of good arguments the way he played at the Masters he’s actually sneaky been playing pretty damn good for the last month and a half um and he cares so much that he will play smart yeah yeah we’ll see I mean he’s also the double and triple bogey blowup machine this year too so it’s not necessarily the best track to be here on but uh I almost think it might help him the way this track is because he’s that on like regular courses you know what mean like well thank you for talking me into my bet yeah I I I like Max here I I mean I don’t like him but I like him you know yeah just something stood out to me when I saw his name I said I think he might play well this week I like getting plus odds for a top 20 for a really good player so um yeah Max hom plus 180 the guy above him though just since we’re here boy I think seah theal is gonna play awful this week oh boy is I think he’s I think everything about the golf course suits him but yeah probably okay um yeah top 20s guys it’s uh it’s your world and I’m just living in it because I’m all out of him so go for it yeah I only have one in the top 20 um I don’t really he’s a guy you bet because a tough course but his stats and his current record right now aren’t really working out I want to bet will zalatoris yep um I’m going to go plus 260 on him at T20 I don’t have a ton of confidence in it but I think this is his kind of course yeah it is and look he played really well at the memorial uh just he was not good on Sunday at all um he he really killed himself on Sunday but he played a great round of golf on Saturday he was minus four on Saturday I want to say maybe maybe but uh he was he got up there in the top in the top 20 at at one point in that tournament he looked like he was finding it he also said in an interview like he feels like he’s really close so don’t hate the bet at all I love the bet I also have will zot torus this is my favorite placement bet I was afraid of doing top 10 because of a lot of reasons but top 20 I feel very confident in I have three units on Wills Al tor’s top 20 plus 260 um Wills alur’s weakness is not being able to do birdie Fest but he’s awesome at hard course don’t be awful um and you know I the same reasons that I like certain guys here I like him he’s actually really good at two putting um he’s just very bad at one putting he’s also really just phenomenal at the Smart approach irons um I I really like will zator to to play good here uh so give me him plus 260 for three units to be top 20 all right uh any other top 20s Brendon I think J whole mass of them J what do you have nine placement bets yes nine oh my I’ll run through them Sam Burns top 20 plus 225 one unit um and then I I I’ll only hype the ones that I really need to talk about uh plus 275 according to this where is he oh 260 Dean burmaster uh plus 260 um to be top 20 he’s statistically the best around the green player on Liv he’s also the best approach player right now he’s won three tournaments in the past year there he’s playing the best golf of the live guys you’ve really turned the corner since a month ago and he said he sucked yeah um I love I love uh his chance to be in the top 20 here um due to consistency uh I don’t think he can win I do think he can uh show up with the consistency and be in the top 20 so plus 260 for Dean burer top 20 um then the guy who is scorching hot atlf offl uh sneakily Billy horel top 20 plus 350 uh Billy’s playing unbelievable and Billy’s Best stat his best trait is long putting uh Billy is one of the best long Putters on the whole tour um and he’s fantastically creative golfer uh and he’s playing really good man he’s playing really good for the last month and a half I really like Billy orel’s chances here he playing really he’s playing really good he’s also the number one most uncomfortable looking putter of all time that’s true well remember he had that like real mental problem about a year and a half ago and he he like start he quit for like a month and fixed a bunch of stuff and changed his game but look I mean he’s come back he won a tournament he’s got multiple top 10 now in real tournaments uh give me Billy horel plus 350 top 20 love that one and then the final one um you’re all gonna like this one because he deserved to be here he snuck in here Adam Scott top 20 plus 320 I told you I like the Australian here I like Adam Scott’s ability to not blow up ever uh just a consistent guy who’s going to play pretty good the whole time gonna play real smart uh almost got screwed out of this cares a lot about it he’s gonna play pretty good not gonna be anywhere near winning but he’s gonna play good I like him to get to the weekend and sneak his way into that top 20 plus 320 yeah he’s uh just what he does he finished T9 here in 2014 he seemingly is top 20 his entire life yep any more placement bets from either of you those are all my placement bets I have one T30 okay who we got uh I’m going Brian Harmon T30 at plus 170 um he’s been got a ton of top 25 finishes this year about half of his outings are T25 um’s good around the green good at putting can’t do anything off the T which maybe his downfall just because he doesn’t have the length for this course uh but if he can get the ball near the green I think he’ll be all right T30 yeah he had the incredible start to the season he’s been borderline bad lately but uh but yeah uh Super Creative around the green and he’s a good Good’s so good at those parts my this course I like I thought about him I just am afraid it’s too long for him yeah that’s my only concern which is why I don’t have him at T20 yeah yeah for sure for sure um all right um yeah a lot of these bets are just going to be sweat the cut and then we got a real live opportunity because the cut is smaller than most tournaments like 60 60 in ties um yeah like you know most tournaments with 156 players in the field you’re G to see 80 85 guys make the cut here we’re probably only to see you know mid 60s so below 60 you’re gonna see some ugly could have a lot of tightness though you could have everything real tight so you could have a big group um you’re definitely going to have a ton of guys that just take themselves way out of this thing but yeah I expect the cut to be somewhere around plus five maybe plus four plus five that wouldn’t surprise me a bit could be could be even worse who knows be even worse but um yeah so uh that’s it for our placement bets let’s get to our basically our final category here um wait are there any brenon special Adams just kidding we just did 12 I just did them all yeah um let’s do a dial it up I I hinted there was a new drink sponsor this week oh boy you know we got this is the part where I have to pee yeah good you should go you know I haven’t seen any money from these sponsorships yeah I’m raking in about $12 a week from these that ain’t bad that ain’t bad yeah this week we’ve got a new drink it is a sugarfree soda the healthiest soda on the market it’s called Olli poop we’ve got six different flavors right here I have the cream soda no sugar quite delicious tastes just like cream soda see just based on the look of it that’s the kind of drink I would never grab from the cooler right exactly and I didn’t think I would either but uh they sent it to me for free for a sponsorship so I’m drinking it it’s actually pretty good so yeah there’s our drink sponsor for the week we’re here and dial it up it’s everybody’s favorite segment um yeah our guy who controls the computer is you know he’s in the bathroom for the sixth time during the show um loves the bathroom drinks a lot of fluids so you know who could blame him really me I guess yeah uh we’re approaching the 2hour Mark here I’m starting to get physically uh worn down mentally losing a bit of sharpness here but you know what I’m it was the first time I went to the bat I managed to get that long I got two hours in without going it’s called filling airspace you’re welcome um so hot let’s get to the dial UPS let’s go to nationality props as we often start the dial it UPS with um I’ve got just got just one in this category I’ve dialed it real back this week I really care a lot about a lot of little little matchups I just have one big one so you guys probably have more you guys can start oh you you Pro you like primed it like you were gonna say yours I don’t want I don’t want to just do mine then listen to a bunch and listen to you guys for five minutes you know I mean I would never actually bet this but uh for the show I kind of want to put like 36 units on Scotty to make the cut at minus 18800 um which I know we’re not to do but just for funsies I’m saying that to make you two units yeah I like that I do think there’s like there’s a little bit of value and if you make the cut parlay here um but you know whatever we’ll we’ll we don’t need to talk about that um anyways like the like a Xander Colin and like Hadi you know like the guys who are just gonna play pretty damn good for sure uh anyways uh I will start I guess um with Canadian uh and this is the area in which this is the area in which I agree with Jim I’m taking McKenzie uses the top Canadian at plus 400 I actually like that parlay put together it’s only minus 142 yeah add uh add like think I at Tommy Fleetwood he won’t miss any cut ever where is he Sor yeah uh I don’t like Corey Connor in this group at all I’m glad you no I think this tournament’s a nightmare for Corey Connor yeah I do too you have to play no matter how good you are with your approach irons you’re going to be around the green a lot I think Cory Conor to miss the cup might be a nice bet because he can’t chip I I hate Cory Connor here can’t chip at all I don’t think he’s gonna be doing well here my top two Canadians here I I’m picking I was picking between Hughes and pendrith uh but I like Hughes Jim you have any nationality props I have uh one nationality prop uh let me get a it’s English okay no I have I have Aaron Ry is my top Mercy is my top English um I don’t remember why now that I’m looking at him I picked this early yesterday because he’s good at getting pars yeah I that might have been what it is his bogey avoidance that kind of thing um but yeah now I’m not not super high on this one anymore all right run with it I’m gonna run with it that was super convincing yes BR your other nationality props uh you just want me to keep going yeah I mean I’ll just do mine at the end I only have one all right um Asian uh my top Asian I’m Going H Ben on uh plus 400 uh for the top Asian um also a guy who hits the ball really high also a guy who um is good long putting but his his main issue has been making short putts um I like Ben on here to to be right in this thing uh obviously I’m scared of sanj and Hideki uh but I’m kind of not scared of anyone else other than SEIU uh so I like benan because I think benan will I I have confidence in his game over the course of this whole season to show up again uh plus 400 for benon why you got to bring up benon and short putts one more time I know well take me to the rest of the world this is just a lot of folks this is just my way of getting better value on Matsuyama um I didn’t want it the Asian value wasn’t good enough so I’m going to doing rest of the world value I think he’s going to play really well this week I just do I like 700 I liked it when it was 800 yesterday even more um but one unit on Hideki to be top rest of the world I have a rest I have a rest of the world bet as well you already know who it is uh Jason day is another place I’m betting Jason day um rest of the world plus 1400 for one unit [Music] all right yeah I really I do you really convinced me into thinking that he’s going to play well I I I’m so convinced of it it’s like a psychosis if he doesn’t then I guess it’ll be like an Awakening but I when he does you’re gonna be like oh Brenan was on i’ I’ve this is built this course is like made for Jason day the one thing I can’t deal with like we always root for each other but if Matt Fitzpatrick wins outright not only will I never hear the end of it I will lose like $ thousand doll so well I have uh I’m invested in young Maddie so I truly believe it any more nationality problems I know Jim really was thinking about doing an Italian one no no I don’t have any Italians there’s such there’s so many uh Bren you got African I know usually you like to go African sometimes no I just had to sneak him in here somewhere uh I’m just gonna do one unit Nordic on ludvig just to get him in there uh I like him much more than everyone else in this group uh for this tournament um so ludvig to be the top Nordic at plus 170 do we think hin is gonna have a good short game what do we think about that I don’t think he’s gonna play particularly well this week no I don’t know what to I am a little scared of him because he is such a good golfer um but I don’t I think there will be way too many like there’s too many times where he’s going to have the worst part of his game tested that there just the math plays out to where it’s going to mess up sometimes well I hope you’re right he’s another big scary for me I have him nowhere on my card I think he’s like a plus six plus seven top 30 guy this week I don’t I’m not particularly scared of him yeah I just don’t think he can I think the a the math plays out where if you’re if you’re worse part of your game that is a real problem right now you’re have to do a lot no matter what it’s going to be a problem there are going to be where you see Victor have a a short chip that rolls back to him or goes over the green it’s just to happen um and he’s got he’s really hitting his irons awesome you’re gonna see him Spike at moments he’s gonna have little stretches where he looks incredible but I do think he blows up yeah uh you saw it at the memorial this week A lot of it was out of position stuff where he had to Chip and it got away from him pretty quickly was unfortunate because he did get screwed on a few awesome shots that just were one foot off yeah for sure um who’s this Frederick guy I thought I knew all the uh nordics it’s some probably some random qualifier or an amateur I like already Tim whing sneaky real good golfer yeah he’s been great on the corn fairy this year um I think he was actually in the PGA because of how well he played in the yeah I didn’t he I think he he might have won twice on the corn fairy this year a row or something yeah he’s been he’s been very good he’s has the least Nordic name I’ve ever seen in my life Yeah Tim is not is the like neither is Whiting I know but Tim yeah yeah well I mean I can see Tim a lot more than I mean there’s Alex right above him I can see Tim but Alex like extends to Nordic stuff yeah yeah yeah of course you know but Whiting I you don’t ever see ing at the end of a Nordic name yeah yeah anyways uh I’m all out of nationality props you guys want to do anything here I don’t think I have anymore let me just make sure uh no I I think I’m good yeah right yeah I think I’m good too hey go to oceanana you can’t do Jason day I’m adding Jason day uh it’s just a Brendan pick I he’s convinced me into liking it enough so I’m going to do one unit I’m adding it to my sheet right now one unit on Jason day oceanana I love it yeah these guys are all gonna play Good by the way except cam Smith I actually don’t think cam Smith’s gonna play well no he dude and Bren and Bren can you just get can you get off the Min wo Lee like like fan train he’s just not that good a golfer uh uhoh uh oh you know no he’s not he’s not I’m not remotely afraid of him at all dude you’re you you do this a little too much with guys who are really young who Spike good and then don’t because there’s too much he’s dude he’s 22 yeah yeah just you know play a little more consistent if you want my respect is all he’s three years younger than L he’s 25 5 years old okay so he’s the same age as yes so so yeah I mean yeah just you know play a little more consistent if you want my respect but but I he’s he’s he’s if you put him on Australian courses he’s awesome and this is an Australian style course yeah no I I didn’t know that um bring me over to lib specials I’m ready to do something else um oh they up here yeah this is my next one also doing some live stuff I’ve got a top live golfer and it’s gonna it’s gonna shock you uh I’m going with Dustin Johnson and I actually think he’s going to play well I think he’s going to randomly play really well this week I don’t know why I put some money outside of the show on him to be to on a win without the top four I don’t know something weird is telling me he’s gonna play well we’ve maligned him we’ve made fun of him we said he can’t doesn’t care he’s still you know deep down inside the talent that He has exists he is an incredibly good golfer he was God awful at the PGA Championship and then actually kind of he barely made the cut and then actually kind of played okay for the rest of it he played pretty well last week in the Liv Houston tournament um you know he might be getting he probably doesn’t care like I think he might care the least of any golfer out there but if he just decides to there’s a chance he could play well uh I think you know you’re getting 10 to one odds on a guy who beat the four people in front of him last week in Houston so yeah give me give me a flyer on Dustin Johnson I think he actually could play well here no way that’s that is totally fair fully cut cut in six holes gonna play well I get I get what you’re saying I just if you’re saying course we’re the most important part is mental decision making and then we’re like Dustin no way he he can’t mentally Focus to do that although he is a Carolina guy Bermuda all it’s like I I get all of that I actually think like he’s probably comfortable here no way yeah yeah yeah I did not expect this to be well received by you but anyways I he’s gonna be horrible okay it’s just like my little pet pick I know I get it it’s fine okay okay do you guys know what the category dual forecast means yes you literally are picking first and second place to be both correct oh that’s cool yeah it’s also impossible but yeah we get we get second and third a lot um I have one here uh obviously I I pick Brooks to win the tournament but this is If he if he wins the tournament he wins the tournament he’ll be the top live I think he either is winning or he’s not uh I’m gonna take top live I’m actually gonna take Terell Hatton plus 700 um he’s the one I’m most confident is going to like play pretty damn good um I like Terell hatton’s creativity I like him like all the parts parts of his game more for a course like this uh he’s more used to the style where you have like funky long putts and chips and stuff I like T Hatton plus 700 to be the top live golfer here you know who could actually play well here that that just he could finish like 16th or like maybe like eth Sergio yes Sergio yeah he’s also playing really good he’s just playing really good he’s really smart he’s an incredible putter he’s one of the best Putters of all time in the history of golf I’m dead serious about that um and he is creative with his wedges around around the green so um Martin kimer also won the tournament here yeah he’s just a little old and washed up but he was leading the live tournament entering Sunday he sure was sure was I have a a top live round one while we’re in this area Okay um brenon did a pretty good rundown on him earlier but uh Dean burm plus 900 he’s red hot right now I like the N9 to1 against this field I like that a lot a month ago you said he was terrible at golf um I’m just just having I’m just having fun I’ve got a round one leader an overall round run one liter um it’s uh I’m sure you guys have one too I don’t know but U yeah there it is I’m going as vanilla as you can be Scotty Sheffer two units to be the end of round one leader uh I think on a course that’s really hard if he just does his minus four thing it could actually lead the lead the tournament I don’t expect anyone to be out here shooting a 60 a 63 which would be minus seven I I think that’d be crazy so he I think minus three or four maybe maybe five could lead this the the round at the end of round one but uh it’s I’m goingon to be hard pressed to believe it’s anything better than that I’d say minus four is the round one leader Scotty loves shooting like you know a couple under par so I’ll just roll with it two units on Sheffer yeah I don’t have one here uh yeah I think there’s just too much variance I don’t really want to put anything on a round one leader there’s just so many people and I tend to think the round one leader will be random dude number one yeah I think it’s either random dude number one or Scotty sheffler so yeah that’s what I’m going with I I like I mean you don’t usually see odds that say plus 1200 next to the guy’s name so I’ll just take a flyer on it yeah yeah I hear you I hear I get that um if I have to I kind of want to pick one now uh Adam I’m not gonna it’s too R it’s it’s just a waste of a unit I’m not gonna it’s there’s too many people and it’s gonna be a random dude I mean we’ve thrown away I hit I hit Xander at the PGA Championship other than that I think we’ve all thrown away just a gazillion units on this bet this year yeah I’ve had I’ve had a bunch of guys almost beat it and that’s just extra annoying yeah yeah we like Jim and I had Rory lose by one stroke at one of the Florida swing tournaments that was annoying too so yeah it’s it’s a very it’s extremely difficult to forecast the round one yeah it’s just pure gambling I did like what you said though I’m interested in a couple questions um all our bets uh that was great there’s gonna be more dial it UPS right oh yeah sure if you guys have them sure I’m I’m done I’m done I’m gonna I’m gonna throw in a round one hold on I’ll bring it back up uh let me find them again here I lost him oh no I lost him just name him I’m gonna go Harris English for half a unit oh okay plus 9,000 it’s not gonna be him it might be him it could be who knows it could be anybody well we said random guy I think that’s a random guy who could come up out of nowhere for some reason it totally is he he’s okay he’s good at being minus he’s good at being top 10 in a tournament where you shoot minus 20 yeah I’m gonna I’ll do one I’ll do one uh gonna go Billy horel Billy hor for me by the way plus 9,000 uh for my round one leader half a unit plus 9,000 Billy horel nice Billy lik drink you were saying something before I cut you off here’s a few fun questions because Zach kind of made me think about it and I think they’re good questions to ask uh you alluded to what do you think the round one leader score is minus three yeah Min minus four I think that’s where I’m leaning and I think minus four is going to be the round one lead someone will get that and that person will end up plus 12 um yeah yeah no for real uh unless it’s Scotty sheffler unless it’s Scotty sheffler the over under Uh current line um over under to win the tournament is minus three and a half um do you think it will be a better score than minus three and a half or a worse score than minus three and a half I think it’ll be worse well you uh as as you were asking me the round one leader question I started thinking about the overall winner score yeah so it’s great transition um I think we want it to be less than three and a half I think these golfers are so incredibly good at golf these days that there’s a POS there’s a better chance of it being being minus four or better in my opinion so I’m gonna say the winner is minus5 I mean the over under for pretty much everybody for birdies in round one is two and a half that’s nuts that is nuts Jim that’s just birdies I mean so they’re not thinking three is going to be the the round one winner mean no no no because there are there are holes that you you can’t par like you know can’t par or can’t birdie like no I’m saying like Okay I get what you’re say I’m just saying like there are definitely birdie holes but the problem is there are there are bogey holes like you get what I’m saying yes par is gonna be a golden score on on most of the holes yeah but I think like like the first three holes you’ll see like we’ll get Thursday morning it’ll be an hour into Thursday morning and there’ll be a ton of guys through three holes that are minus two and you’ll be like is this gonna play easy because the first three holes you you can birdie those holes the first hole is the kind of simplest most straightforward hole in the whole Golf Course pretty normal golf hole um and two and three are like you can do fine on them um they’re also going to be people blow up right away but there will definitely be a bunch of people minus two through three holes and people are be like oh is this gonna be easy if you go through those three holes even or or overpar though you’re in big trouble all day yeah ean’s gonna be fine no matter what but yeah yeah I hear you but I just say you gotta get you got to get it while you can get it you know I mean those are the holes to score on and you kind of get give yourself a couple of uh what do you want a couple of Misses or bailouts because of the scores you get on those no no one final point which probably a waste of time but um you know we associate a hotter golf course with firmer with firmness on the greens and the fairways but when we’re talking about 90 degrees you start to bring in humidity into play and I wonder if that will counteract some of the firmness just a tiny bit yeah and not windy yeah five to five to 10 mile per hour wins mostly around seven it looks like so otherwise it’d actually be a nightmare out there I mean Jim I want it to be 25 M per hour winds in blood total BL it’s hard to generate 20 mile per hour winds in the middle of a pine tree Forest though so yeah it’s it’s really it’s really exciting this is gonna be awesome it’s gonna be sick I’m gonna play this course on the video game we gotta do it yeah I’m probably gonna do that right after this we’re gonna do the draft right after this then then we should all do we should all do that together after this we can watch acolyte okay the person the personal lives of the hosts are I gotta eat dinner guys I got I got to cook some bacon egg we got to do a draft and play the golf tournament I still have dial them UPS I I got all right we done no we’re not done guide him through the dial UPS what dials I’m not bringing up any more screens I gotta go eat I have I have Klay that miss the cut at plus 160 great because he’s not not good at golf so bad right now it’s so weird horrible at golf yeah um I have Scotty to be in the final group at plus 225 I have okay Scotty to lead after round three and win at plus 550 okay and then my last bet and this is how I figured out how to bet uh L big I have top debutant blood big at plus 140 for three units and there’s nobody he’s competing against uh where’s the debutant oh boy where’s that the contr brenan’s contrarian nature kicks in when you said nobody it’s tournament props top debutant why can we all can we all see it together on the streen I’m opening it I’m opening it I gotta find it hold on he said he’s not doing it Zach yeah the way you said that like really it got me I it makes you want to fight let’s do it oh no oh he’s starting to be right Jim’s starting to be real right it’s not a great group uh yeah uh give me give me Tom McKibbon top debutant plus 1200 uh on fire on the DP World Tour of the last month and a half uh I’ll just just to be annoying give me Tom can you screenshot this this page because I’ll never be able to figure out if he wins or not can you just do me a favor can can you can you uh can you give me uh taay shimuzu for zero units yeah Tom McKibben yeah he’s playing good golf you just picked like the one guy you could possibly make an argument for and did it you can make an argument for Harry higs he’s been hot flam no you can’t he’s been hot flames like all the guys these guys won three tournaments in the last like two weeks yeah he beat the three of us in a playoff last week oh come on can you scroll down can I at least get the full list here yeah most of them are are rookies and stuff I’ve heard of Grant Forest a lot of these are amateur that are actually Christopher Pete fish’s been playing really good golf on the on the on the corn fairy not gonna lie where that dude who hits the ball 10,000 oh wait Neil Shipley’s playing in this tournament famously uh top amateur at the Masters yeah y Sam barsto doesn’t use an interlocking grip he’s the only known current golfer who doesn’t use an interlocking grip therefore he is our hero this is fun this is fun to look at yeah it is all right good yeah good yeah good stuff mat Matt prater’s younger brother is the last guy in that group I don’t know if you saw that Colin Colin Prader no it’s actually a real story Matt prer Young brother but yeah okay um I believe that is uh it for the uh for the dups right guys uh yeah I think we’ve hit our longest show yeah on record two hours and 17 minutes um closing thoughts Brendon uh I’m just I’m super excited this is gonna be really fun um it’s G to be awesome to watch the the chaos unfold uh yeah I just I really like a strategic golf tournament um I know that like a lot of the players say like it’s they don’t like that they have to play boring which but it tests your patience it tests your strategy it tests you doing all different little things uh I think it’s awesome so I’m excited it’s not boring for us to watch I’ll tell you that uh I think it’s boring to watch valhall where everyone is putting from 12 12 feet every hole for birdie or not uh this is going to be awesome where guys are in different places trying all different shots everyone’s got different styles we get to see a bunch of different strategies it’s going to be sick you get to see people hit the shot they think is great that ends up being a horrible disaster it’s gonna be real fun yeah so the the fate of your tournament could end up on the whim of a roll out on a into a shrub it really could um off the tea or or just missing a spot by one foot on a green like uh tell you what though the anxiety level for us with real money and real stakes and units and rooting for guys we like watching on Sunday I think that anxiety level is gonna be ramped up oh yeah if you remember there’s nothing double bogey is in play on every hole there’s nothing like a really hard US Open where you have like your guys in the mix going into the back nine because like I said this one the hardest holes are 17 18 so like it’s not over you know what I mean like uh yeah like remember Scotty Fitz and zalatoris is back nine on uh at at the country club like anything can happen it’s I think you could see a lot of it’s when it’s this hard pressure matters it’s gonna be sick that’s part of that’s part of what I do agree with you Zach when you said there’s a bunch of guys that just can’t win because like there’s certain guys who even if they’re winning with three holes to play this kind of pressure I don’t know if they can do it you know yeah I I’m absolutely with you I just think when you know like when you know you need a okay it’s kind of like you’re coming down the stretch pressure gets to almost every player down the stretch except for the elite ones like you know we saw it with um oh Ben Kohl’s I believe his name was saw boy that was tough you see it with Sebastian Soderberg you see it with Even Adam hadwin with you know bogging for the last five holes after being tied in second place you see it you see it you see it you see it I think it’s a whole different animal when you know you you know that a par is like what you have to do but one one slip one degree wrong is a bogey like it it it’s extra extra down the stretch here so it’s going to be it’s going to be a true test the what’s what’s interesting though is other than the Payne Stewart US Open here the other two US opens were not particularly dramatic down the stretch Michael Campbell backed his way to even par and won the tournament Martin kimr blew the field away I think we’re gonna get I think barring one incredible performance from one Elite golfer like Xander or Scotty or Rory I think we’re going to get an amazing finish and potential of 20 guys there right at the end because things are so volatile that was the end of my my speech I hope so yeah yeah it also could be a scenario where it’s just one or two guys with a Chance down the stretch I just hope we don’t see a Runway because I don’t want to see a runaway I I don’t think we will honestly but maybe yeah I mean if Scotty came out there shoots minus eight and no one else can break par what a statement that would be I mean that would be a Tiger Woods yeah that would be a Tiger Woods level runaway he has a chance he has an outside chance of matching that historic Woods season with nine wins and three Majors um we haven’t really seen a level of dominance on the PJ tour since that season so um it’ll be interesting all right guys got anything else no I’m excited to watch it um it’s going to be fun to watch people on the internet be really mad that half the tournament Thursday Friday is going to be on peacock um luckily I think most of us have peacock but you know we got a group of of Xander Rory Scotty Sheffer um that due to the times they’re playing is going to pretty much only be on peacock and I guarantee the internet gonna be real mad about that uh so I would just like to see I would like to see uh NBC ESPN and CBS collectively by the golf channel and just one conglomerate unit Channel and that’s just where the tournament is the whole tournament’s there it would be nice to see something like that if we could come to an agreement but uh I don’t think it’ll be as much of a problem Masters better fix their their stuff next year but the the thing is I’ve come to the point where I’m fine with what jumping around as long as there’s always a main broadcast the whole time I have all these dumb services so I can live with it when they don’t have a main broadcast anywhere that’s where I that’s the tough one yeah like the Masters is our complaint um a reprehensible coverage but but this won’t be a problem I don’t think it’ll just be it’ll just be peacock golf channel NBC boom boom boom probably just like that it’ll be super simple to get to so um alrighty exciting stuff no need to talk about we got a lot of tournaments coming up but we got one right here we’ll be back next week recap it uh and go on to The Travelers but let’s win huh Zach do your a little wrappy or oh yeah um show me those phones and show me that money [Music]
