in his press conference on site this week and things have gone from bad to worse for ROM saying after Consulting with numerous doctors of my team I have decided as best for my long-term Health to withdraw from this week’s Us Open Championship to say I’m disappointed is a massive understatement I wish all my peers the best of luck and want to thank all of the USGA staff volunteers and community of Pinehurst for hosting and putting on what I’m sure will be an amazing Championship hopefully I’ll be back in Action sooner rather than later Romney two-time major champ won the US Open three years ago U Aaron definitely disappointing news that he he’s unable to physically try and give it a go this week extremely but you know everything in golf uh happens from the ground up so if your feet aren’t working properly the rest of your golf swing is not going to work properly there are certain things Ral you can play with and uh but you know a foot injury as severe as what it sounds like Jon has it doesn’t sound like something that he should be playing with so it’s a it’s a it’s a true disappointment for the championship and for um the USGA for sure to not have one of the best players in the world in the field but um he needs to heal up so he’s ready for the next major well absolutely I mean for golfers I look longterm at hands and feet being the most important thing uh without a doubt and uh while it’s really disappointing I’m sure for John and certainly for all Us Golf fans uh it seems to me like it’s the right decision you don’t want to fool around with an infection uh in your foot area so he should take whatever amount of time he needs to uh to get that thing healed up and you know he wanted a rebound he had had such a slow started major since making the move to live golf was T45 had a miscot now has to WD this week the guy’s in its prime at 30 years old a two-time major champion and looking back now it seems like Ral it’s going to end up being a lost year based on what he does at the open it is and I’m sure one of the disappointing Parts is that when you sign a gigantic contract like John ROM did you have an obligation to try and represent your tour that you are now a member of that you play on and one of the things that uh would be really important would be for someone on that tour to win a US Open now he doesn’t have the chance
