[Music] boxing history goes back many centuries mentions of fist fights are found in different civilizations from ancient Greece to the samarians over the Millennia this Olympic sport has been greatly changed primitive fist fights have been replaced by intelligent boxing in its skillful guys FL Mayweather speed and skill he moves from a punch counters and lands a punch and gets away from another punch now when boxers enter the ring we see a battle of styles a confrontation between different schools of boxing having a style is a prerequisite for becoming a successful boxer fighting style as a means of victory in the ring a stronghold of the Fighter’s uniqueness and a guarantee of the audience’s favor spectacular or pragmatic offensive or defensive each style has its own fans welcome to the boxing Classics Channel today we will tell you about a boxer whose fights are synonymous with beauty skill and efficiency this is the story of the rise of Demitri Beeville the last Soviet style boxer Dimitri Beville was born in tokmok kerig SSR his exotic appearance is a testament to his multiethnic blood which is not surprising for a native of the Soviet Union his father Yuri Beeville is from mavian SSR his mother Elena is an ethnic Korean but was born and lived in the kazac SSR Dimitri lived in k Ghan until he was 11 years old where from the age of six he began to learn the basics of boxing science under the guidance of a veslav sherov however the conditions for formation were not so good on the coach’s recommendation the family moved to St Petersburg it was in Russia that Dimitri became the man he is today not surprisingly all the nations he is associated with consider him one of their own beevil ALS Al doesn’t like to identify himself as belonging to only one country this is how he answers the question about his cultural and National belonging [Music] [Music] [Music] dri’s second coach was Nikolai isv under whose mentorship he formed the foundations of his boxing style over the next 5 years Dmitri won the Russian Championship five times three times at the European championships and twice at the World Championships before the age of 17 he became the most titled amateur in Russia but the transition to the adult category was not easy for Dimitri in highly competitive conditions he won the Russian championship at the third try the first time he got a bronze medal after which he and Nikolai ASV parted ways gandi mashanov became his next Mentor under his guidance he took silver and then a gold [Music] medal in 2013 Dimitri reached the final of the summer univers Aid where he had to fight Alexander gazic unfortunately the bout between the two technicians did not happen Beeville injured his right hand on the way to the final and had to settle for the silver medal Dimitri had an exciting amateur career with 268 wins and 15 losses he didn’t have a chance to participate in the Olympic Games which is a priority for every amateur at the same time Olympic gold is the ceiling for amateur boxing therefore beevil sacrificed his amateur dream to move on to fulfill his goals at the professional level in 2014 Dimitri bevil turned Pro and to the surprise of fans he made an unpopular decision he signed a contract ra with the Russian company world of boxing when a promising boxer Goes Pro the only road is to find an influential promoter abroad one has to go to the United States or Great Britain because that’s where the most powerful people in the business are located when a boxer continues his career in his homeland his prospects come to a stand still he turns into a domestic boxer with unrealized talent but time has shown that beevil made the right decision after four fights in Russia and two performances in the USA his promoter got him a championship fight for the interim WBA title the holder of the belt was The Undefeated Felix Valera the physically strong and flexible Dominican tried to impose his terms immediately he spurted switched stances and even dropped his hands Beeville responded with high pace and [Music] pressure Demitri was loaded for The Knockout and it prevented him from acting more cooly on the other hand Felix recovered instantly from every punch there are some fights in which a boxer learns on the Fly for beevil this was such a fight he won by decision became the interim champion and most importantly he gained new experience already holding the title Dimitri had two fights in the United States broadcast by showtime and HBO in one fight beevil defeated Samuel Clarkson in the other he demolished Cedric agnu [Music] [Applause] [Music] 2017 was a productive year for Beeville he won three times by technical knockout and won by knockout and became a rightful world champion Dimitri exchanged the interim title for a real Championship belt in a fight with Trent broadhurst and his performance matched his new status defeated and still the WBA light heavyweight champion of the world the fighting pod of St Petersburg Russia Demetri be for every boxer who is at the beginning of his journey it’s essential to realize his abilities and find the right style that will bring results fortunately for Dimitri every coach realized his potential and helped to cultivate the qualities that are laid down by Nature from the first training session beevil show showed Mobility the personal feature revealed by the first trainer veslav sherov was brought to a new level by Nikolai isv the important feature of isf’s boxing school is the pendulum step but it was under the guidance of gandi mashanov that his footwork became a universal element beevil has excellent balance due to his wide leg stance American and Puerto Rican boxers use this stance to punch harder in this leg position they are usually static but in Dimitri’s work we see fundamentally different things his footwork easily breaks the distance he FS the first attack and catches the opponent with counteractions often he traps the opponent using only footwork the principle of the Soviet style is efficiency with minimal risk it’s realized by the simplest and most effective weapon the straight punches but how can simple at first glance attacks look entertaining the answer lies in Dimitri bevil’s technique high speeds plus rhythm of movement and straight punches become bullets that hit opponents like walking punching bags beevil has a quick jab a tremendous sense of distance and ring General ship in every fight he tries to take the center of the ring and press despite the fact that he’s not a power boxer even if he has to step back he never goes to the Cor Corners he always stays in the middle for every boxer the fight against beevil becomes a test of conditioning he can be a Tempo boxer an outboxer or a counter puncher in any case his fights have a high Rhythm he is repeating attacks so so opponents lose the desire to throw punches they have to stand behind the block which is also ineffective there is no other boxer in the light heavyweight division who moves and throws punches like a welterweight it was the amazing balance of personal qualities and Soviet style that made Demitri Beeville a highclass boxer after becoming a full-fledged Champion Dimitri got a chance to fight more notable opposition the first top opponent was Sullivan Barrera ranked at the top of the WBA the athletic Cuban had just won loss to Andre Ward his experience was a weighty aspect but not the determining one from the first round Dimitri found the challengers mistakes and landed a few hooks you know we wanted questions answered about B already the speed advantage of bevil was overwhelming after several headbutts the champion got injured however this didn’t stop him from shooting the slow [Music] Cuban [Music] fight for the [Applause] [Music] howad he wants he at this point if we a little in the final round a one-w combination from Beeville knocked out Barrera for the first time in his career want to see more we have to get our Theo [Music] Dimitri made his third title defense against the famous Canadian Jean Pascal in such fights it’s interesting to watch this stylistic rivalry Pascal’s wait and see explosive Style versus beeville’s boxing sensitivity and technique there’s a certain ugliness and unpredictability to Jean’s punches this usually gives him an advantage but in the fight with beevil it worked against him [Applause] everything that Dimitri does is in perfect balance boxing reflexes control of distance ease of movement and even the wonders of [Music] teleportation the last one of course is a joke but the difference in the speed of thinking and reaction creates exactly that impression beevil has time to think out an attack execute it and go to the distance while Jean fights with air and he loses Demitrius reproached for his low knockout rate he is really not a knockout artist his hands are like whips that punish his opponent at every misstep just listen to the music of those punches [Applause] [Applause] decision and still WBA light heavyweight [Applause] champion having confidently defeated Pascal he faced future Champion Joe Smith Jr this fight was even less competitive than the previous ones beevil used his full Armory and confirmed his class Advantage but in the 10th round Joe nearly did what neither Pascal nor Barrera could break lot Smith landed a punch that nearly gave beeville’s fans a heart attack fortunately Gennady mashanov quickly brought Demitri to his senses and gave him an important instruction going to jump on you just hit him in the face do there Dimitri calmly finished the fight and at the last seconds he returned his opponent’s debt with interest last combination good really pour it on and shots getting through there and maybe one just a little bit the victory over Smith ended an excellent stretch of performances in which the Russian Champion fought good opposition Dimitri continued to do his job at a high level but the same cannot be said of his management who picked up uninteresting opponents all of this coincided with CO’s World hysteria Dmitri began to box rarely the period from the end of 2019 to the end of 2021 is the most unproductive in his career and who knows how things would have continued if Dimitri had not found himself in the crosshairs of an extremely ambitious man each boxer’s career is divided into stages and levels entry to a new level is Possible only by defeating a legendary opponent until May 2022 Dmitri beevil didn’t have a chance to make this transition such an opportunity was presented to him by the boxer who leads the present era Saul Alvarez has been the Undisputed face of boxing since the end of the last decade he was the king of pound-for-pound and did not lose for 9 years being a very ambitious boxer Canelo has set a new goal of becoming a two-time Undisputed champion on the Mexicans radar was the light heavyweight division in which he was former Champion Alvarez planned to start cleaning up this division with beevil because he considered him the weakest of the Champions as mentioned Dimitri’s career has gone into the Shadows during these years the attention to him diminished due to mediocre opposition in the runup to the fight he was considered a big Underdog and even optimistic fans didn’t believe in his victory everyone understood the need for a knockout because in a close fight a decision win would not be given to Dimitri when beevil walked to the ring he was accompanied by the disapproving whistle of the crowd but no matter what was predicted behind the scenes No Matter What fan base was behind the boxers it didn’t matter in the ring [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] beevil proved to be smarter faster and more capable than Alvarez and it was a surprise first of all for Canelo the Mexican tried everything he pressed tried to break his hands retreated to the ropes forced Demitri to make rash moves but nothing worked Alvarez’s nerves were fraying with frustration controlling the fight from start to finish beevil celebrated the most significant win of his professional career so far Dimitri is not the most titled boxer in Russian history but what makes him stand out is the fact that no other boxer from the post Soviet space has a victory over an opponent of canelo’s level being in the spotlight after a triumphant per performance Dimitri got another great fight in November of the same year he faced undefeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez nicknamed zero that fight was eventually dubbed the true Master Class by analysts who and to whom gave a boxing lesson I think you have already guessed was this [Applause] beevil celebrated his 2 first win in the Pro ring by defeating zero and Canelo he became the best boxer of the year in addition his name appeared in the top five boxers pound-for-pound Dimitri biville belongs to a small group of highclass boxers whose fights are an aesthetic pleasure to watch any of his performances becomes a mark of quality sometimes you can hear the opinion that the classical Soviet school doesn’t work in the professional ring this is the greatest misconception in one of the interviews Dimitri said if you have won more than a 100 fights in the amateur and you are going to change this style in the pros then the history of these performances is meaningless it is necessary to have a pivot to keep the originality of the fighting style and do everything to improve it one could say that Dmitri bevil is the last of the micans of the boxing style he represents but perhaps this is the Revival of a more perfect School whose efficiency is unrivaled [Music] [Music]

  1. Dear viewers, we are pleased to present our next documentary. This is the first, but obviously not the last video about Dmitry Bivol. Please do not forget to put likes and leave comments. I hope you will watch the documentary from beginning to end! 😊

  2. Master outfighters give Alvarez a hard time. I’m surprised he hasn’t taken Bena yet. Should be made to order for Alvarez imo

  3. I think we’ll see more Soviet style Bivol’s. Kids copy the successful guy. There’s a Soviet style coach on YouTube who makes tons of videos

  4. Well done, My favorite boxer of all time. I hope that he inspires dozens of Bivol styled boxers coming up. And if anyone knows the names of any I would love to look them all up.

  5. The Cuban and Soviet schools are how I molded my style …… because they incorporate technique , footwork , and fundamentals in essence if you have the correct fundamentals you can punch hard without trying to punch hard

  6. "Куда ты вылезаешь влево, бл*дь?!" "Where are you going left, motherf***er?!" — That's what Bivol's coach said. to him after Joe Smith's punch.

  7. I've heard rumors the fight with Zurdo was rigged
How does a big knock out artist all the sudden all his shots were weak without any power in them
    Looked like a sparring session
There's many things behind the curtains about boxing that a lot of us don't know what happens backstage with the people of power the ones who control boxing and many other things

  8. I love the ‘simplicity’ of his style. Not all kind of fancy head movement or complex side steps. ‘Just’ a lot of in and out movement with high volume in punches. He trains this for so long that he’s a true master of it and he outboxes everyone with it.

  9. Bivol is undoubtedly a very special and rare fighter. He belongs up there with Crawford, Inoue and Usyk. If Bivol beats Beterbiev, he could arguably be the P4P king, imo.
