[Music] this course is just so much fun to play love the layout didn’t really matter if I was out of position or not I slam putts from everywhere St down really good round I played almost Flawless and still left Strokes out there so I’m really looking forward to attack in the course again tomorrow you know it came out at the beginning with six straight you know when you start like that especially on a course like this where sometimes it can be tough to string birdies together you can kind of relax and just let the rest of them come to you the rest of the [Music] day I don’t think it’s really about getting those extra three Strokes I think that you know just consistency out here cuz I know how this course plays sometimes the days like today happen it feels like you’re just breezing through and sometimes you let a couple birdies slip and and you get stuck on the par train but I like where I’m at I feel like I can put together another couple rounds and give myself a chance to win this [Music] thing hello and and welcome to round two coverage from the 2024 Beaver State fling presented by Inova you are watching the disc golf pro tour on Jes Pro and as always at least when I get the chance it’s Nate ston Jeremy coing and Paul ulber another beautiful day here at Milo MacGyver State Park um we are playing just another fantastic layout on the disc golf pro tour really tough long course here at Milo mcgyver Riverbend gold they call this layout and heberg just Riverbend golded the crap out of round one 12 under buring the first six holes in the front nine I mean what a start he straightened out the river yeah there you go Ricky Yaki obviously just having such an incredible season he is sitting on a 13-year streak of at least one Elite Series win does not have one yet this would be a great time for him to continue that streak AJ Cary he was the story early on he had the early lead got all the way down to 9 under took aogi on whole 18 to finish his round at 8 under but an incredible round one start for AJ and Matt Bell out here rounding out our league card another player with 100% c1x putting another one of these courses 61 for C2 in regulation giving himself a lot of opportunities hole one is a par three 455 ft what you’re going to want to do is throw something that slowly drifts to the right power driver I’m guessing something really fast if it drifts enough you can skip around this tree have a look at the basket you can even get into that Guardian Pine on the left and have a little looky look couple Guardians blocking a perfect flight though appreciate the slope little it gave you a chance fly over there yeah nice little nod things headed out to the right side it needs a lot of late stability obstructed look tough look from there might be in this circle though couldn’t ask for better better weather once again a little warmer today maybe even but just beautiful very low wind it’s the problem with the left side rough there you want to break it off of that left side and peel the disc over kind of like what AJ’s doing yeah that’s gorgeous oh yeah could be deep as well though AJ with a ton of power he is a big time thrower it looks like it’s going to be pretty open put I think it a good limb here’s one of those sneaky distance guys doesn’t look like he has a lot of power but all of a sudden he pops him out there this could have an open look on the left side and we all yeah long look we all know with Matt you give him a look basket better be scared one of the best Putters that we’ve ever had on the tour putting world champion and a multiple time Elite Series champion I know once at Delaware was there another one I don’t think so but I do know he won won in Utah I think it might have been a silver or something oh come on okay right on Q right on Q from 50 I always like playing with Matt and then if if he ever finds himself in just the craziest situation where he has to lay up I I look at him and I’m like was that six or seven of your career and he says that’s number four of my career he does not lay up putts this one’s Calvin nothing Bo yeah that’s one thing I’m curious with Calvin he’s let’s watch AJ it might be a little tougher than I thought no nice is I always wonder why he hasn’t developed some sort of little spinny movein yes you know like from in there we would see Ricky go to a knee or something and a lot of other players actually give it some sort of bid but Calvin really handcuffs himself with that style I mean I’m not knocking Kevin at all because of the success he had he’s like I get three of those looks a year Paul so I’ll deal with it and he can get sort of a otherworldly amount of spin from that style but still I get what you mean like a a more direct delivery true spin putt serve him well in those tricky spots EA Robinson up on hole three going to the 400 foot pin on the mound that comes up just short of the circle and I’m guessing this is going in with conviction as it usually does for Ezra man he is he’s really fing the groove this season it’s awesome to see him play well and this upand Comer right here Ganon Burr up on hole five great Drive he’s a hold on does I like I like things for gonur he’s got a good good game I think he’s gonna be a great player one day if he could just find that Zippy putt yeah you know yeah he just needs to settle things from Circle one and circle two and circle three and circle four yeah imagine how good he’d be imagine how good he could be if he just became the greatest putter we’ve ever seen think what he could achieve oh yeah oh goodness gracious Zachary Nash putting together a solid round nine under with two holes to go jumping all the way up currently in second place and ladies and gentlemen the patreon winner this week is chance for anything ever no it’s a long hole it’s the longest part five You’ll Play on flat ground it’s the shortest flyover [Music] ever heavy on the turn I’m worried could be too far right could be out of bounds it hangs on but might be another roller from there right near that short T right am I correct it looked like it curled up right in front of it it’s a pretty good angle from there this is I think a little bit more ideal or at least what you’re practicing options for Matt Bell coming and this just needs to dodge those trees it’s going so fast those ones yeah does it get through doubt it oh my gosh I like this one if oh yeah it flips this is going to be good kind of wraps up pretty quick for Ricky that’s really good it [Applause] shows yeah right by that Dad yeah wide open actually the best spot you could beat oh this is not good though is it he need to hit that to save his life yeah yeah I think that was going to head out of bounds gonna try to oh little low see if we can get a big skip go to your room Rick yeah he he’s got a chance to make something happen from there I played with double G and he laid up to that spot on purpose and then just threw a rope to the hole so wow that’s that’s pretty cool just a low ceiling screamer Matt Bel hugging it tight with Annie Flex forehand gets around the corner but this is going to be in the right the right side High Grass that’s going to be tough third shot hard to get birdie from there and Calvin at least looks like he has room to swing a bit but probably can’t get too aggressive at the reach back o good flight out of it though yeah and stay’s out on the edge yeah got a shot from there he got around the corner kind of that’s that’s pretty incredible from where he was actually call this one 460 maybe a little less doesn’t flip though actually needs to sit could find a oh no way it does find it goodness you don’t think that’s going to happen for high you kind of forget about the OB that far up you you just don’t figure that this can work that far left or get through all those trees yeah that’s kind of what I mean like even if you threw it bad you just don’t figure it could move all the way over there all right AJ fantastic that Bell little jump put from here oh no going with the runup he’s got the same routine his as his putt with his lineup it’s actually I think pretty funny he’s in [Applause] range that was some kind of shot from AJ to get into the circle this gets through oh boy man from 450 oh boy just almost Bullseye it that’s incredible wow control it that well that late incredible start off with 180 ft of putts in the first two no not not quite don’t typically see that bad of a release from him too from that distance even this to save par and it’s not happening that’ll be the first bogey for Calvin at the tournament oh man that would have been a heck of a birdie what a start can’t quite believe it left side little bit too low and left just tapping birdie what a [Applause] shot tap in tap in pars on this course pay dividends so tough birdie to not execute there for AJ but par is never bad rocket sh coming up no turn it’s okay is it okay yeah it wasn’t as good as I expected it to be but maybe left of all the out of bounds oh no Beyond it the not much Beyond it sure there’s that C2 Amos loves it [Music] all right all coming back to the field a little bit leaderboard saying a quick hello to Isaac Robinson putting together a great round 8 under whole three Par 3 400 straight as a string on a little Mound here out of bounds left if you don’t commit it can heer over there you’re going to see a lot of people around Circle edge here this one’s a tough one I find it especially tough with people with a lot of power because I think they’re afraid of going deep yeah potentially go to a mid yep I think for some of these guys I don’t know what it is I just see a lot of people throw it low this one is low thrown but I don’t know where it’s got all the pop it needs it’s got to be Circle one oh yeah you got to think probably within 25 that was a great looking shot from Rick AJ this needs to fight needs to sit and fight flat is what I mean because that thing was heading OB oh this this is got a good line is it going to get there pretty much yeah sure in [Applause] circle yeah that is 35 ft coming for Calvin if not more to get back to even par slow start for him three back of his Pace set yesterday what a start for AJ showing how he got here in the first place I like that follow through Bang gagger on the strike quite good okay are we closing in on a star frame OB oh I’m sorry AJ Carrey out of bounds Ricky just a step inside as well jeez everyone getting it done in two throws yeah some great butts from the group all of them yeah nobody was close I thought Ricky was at least five six feet closer great three under through four for Ezra lining it up on the fifth and this is absolutely perfect yeah you could walk down the Fairway and you’d be greedy to take to put your drive there almost too far has to go to a little bit of turnover not a problem for him parked spoiler he’s going to make that butt that’s a dream start right there not quite as hot as Kelvin was yesterday but four through five four through five is so good we got Paul UL on the te oh it’s not Paul it’s Austin Turner I was confused by the muscles and the leftin how did that how did that what a shot what the heck it got through everything that’s nobody’s going to be that close this week that’s crazy beautiful shot there from Austin Zack Nash is tied for the lead now 10 down to 17 wow you’re feeling frisky and want to go roller that would be the way to potentially set up an eagle look but if you can get down there in the middle pretty simple shot around the Fairway just get the weight right throw a forehand up nice and high so you can’t push it deep pretty easy birdie as Milo gold goes oh this needs to flex out if it does it potentially could be so good boy doesn’t quite but man he might be able to fine he’s fine yeah gosh crazy that is so far it’s crazy to think that a back end Drive could get you a look for the eagle and that’s almost what Ricky did I think if you’re going to make this is great if you’re going to make any mistake left side or right side I think the mistake to make is left side because if you do got a bounds you’re still at an angle where you’re more than likely going to get the par but if you go right and you don’t get the distance that Ricky did you’re more than likely you don’t have any shot well you’re still going to get a par aren’t you oh this needs to sit I think what that’s pass where the out of bounds doesn’t it break left yeah that’s safe I mean there’s out of bounds right next to him but it opens up it bubbles out to the left here’s that roller I was hoping to see one of these this looks great this looks great oh my good this looks incredible sit oh my word no no way come on how it came out of it it cut left at the end that is so unlucky that’s one of the better rollers I’ve seen laid down truly that was so far I mean that’s that’s 650 to that OB right he’s got a putt for the birdie wow that looked like it could have found C1 with a little more flip that is unbelievable kind of opens your mind to like should we be trying that I I don’t know AJ’s he’s got the juice I mean yeah he I mean he went deep on whole one and Calvin could just see the basket from where he was Rick has a window and he’s going to try to helicopter drop it into the hole wow that’s what distance will get you there on hole four From the Rough Ricky finds way as he usually does and now we’re this is what he has left for the the birdie Inc wow a that hurts my heart just no doubt that was awesome best part we’ve ever seen on it that’s for sure yeah it would have been the best birdie too just go out of bounds miss a putt still get par not a lot of ways to do that mm it’s going to be birdies for the other three AJ with the best Drive is going to take the worst score I don’t even care about the out- of bounds I still think it’s the best drive just got so unlucky how did that not flip it would have been I think you’re right I think it would have been like 25 ft I wouldn’t have thought that was even possible wow Luke Humphrey’s up on eight also known as has the phoh hole that’s what a lot of us call it this is kind of what you would consider out of position well right in the Fairway dragging across the big anheiser look to be drifting a little too far to the right side he’s kind of deep wow he’s out by the out of bounds yeah really close to it oh come on send it in big fella wow five down to eight oh man a full Sprint to the basket a lot of smiles [Music] there Ricky and Matt off to a great three through four start Zack Nash got another one oh boy 11 piece I why are people shooting double digits like stop it this is crazy this is madness really it’s incredible whole five par 4 630 ft tight window to start just find your way out into that sunlight and then you have a very manageable shot whatever you like forehand backhand out over the OB little bit of a low ceiling to deal with there is a curb but I think a very manageable under 300t shot to the green if you can hit this first Gap there’s a lot of hangers over here yeah and that’s I think where this hole gets dangerous cuz I think Ricky is still going to be pretty tempted to go from that spot and that’s uh not impossible but it certainly brings in that bogey number oh and I think if it doesn’t hit that limb I think he’s headed for that initial fur that separates the Fairway this is’s going to get a skip of some kind perhaps not much no glued to a tree I would expect he’s going to have a hard time justifying trying to cross from there all these are so low weird he can for sure go from there though yeah oh man that doesn’t look like a layup stance no well Matt’s not holding up finger number five today no layup provided but an out of- bounds kick is the result that was close to being really good it really was seriously wow so he does have the little step out here this is super high risk oh my inches from greatness going to be Obi pretty early one would think yeah and this is going down the road way they’re all going they’re all going lunatics I love it oh no oh gosh sit okay got away with one I don’t think he meant to put any kind of turnover on [Applause] that and the only guy that should be going throws it great yeah it’ss through back edge of C1 350 throw it now Calvin needing to get up and down for his second bogey to stay at even par or he could do like ezer ader hold did my group and throw it in although his was for two wow skipped off the road sidearm sidearm he threw his drive too long had an awkward sidearm shot threw it seemingly right into the curb misses the curb by about an inch skipped off the road straight in the basket maybe that’s what Calvin was trying to do he almost did it he almost did Ricky oh right on line it’s exactly where he wants that disc coming in just inches too high I like that he didn’t just start running he hesitated he didn’t he wasn’t sure he was waiting green light green light no red light how much AJ has coming back almost no look laying that one way too short okay a lot of red numbers well two red numbers here no birdies is surprising to me absolutely what’s this coming in on the on the scale J it’s playing at 3.82 and it is kind of middle of the pack yeah yeah middle of the pack yeah right turn in nth [Music] Place 12 under is one back of Paul Ula Berry what Luke humph is a lot of players of 12 all chasing Zack Nash’s 13 under I love seeing that Paul uberry name up there ho six is a par three that Paul ulber laid up because there is an out of- bounds ditch right here that is very dangerous for this group they’re all going to be green light go I think maybe Matt Bell no but you got to clear that in order to be safe so it does have some Danger on the hole but it’s straight these guys are going to be throwing 600 feet worth of power you get the back stop yep might as well just rip it and that looks fine to me and it is [Applause] yeah pulled it a little bit needs to get through this stuff ah okay chance too yeah some kind of look I guess that Bellin laying up dude he’s going to by accident yeah it’s not oh no he’s not no he’s not this is in maybe some danger nope he’s probably going to make that perfect layup yeah the aggressive layup is like yeah perfect yeah I don’t I agree with you he was not trying to wear that up but caught some leaves slowed him down go in yeah go calv is going to try to knock the basket off the St once again somebody is trying to chase after drop there’s a vendetta against our catch goodness two days in a row who was it yesterday Ganon or Eagle e that thing was coming so fast yeah that b full sun coming oh hopefully we don’t see it but I’m sure it’s happening left and right that basket is elevated and the out of bounds is nearby and on a slope uhoh and there is a casualty oh wow tough that’s a huge mistake oh it got barked on the Putt and also on his second putt yeah that’s that’s tough yeah that’s rough nice wolf off the left side there for Rick just big dogging the rest of the car with a birdie great birdie to pick up yep the rest of the cards like hey throw us a [Laughter] B and I think for AJ he’s going to come off this one just thinking this is an arul bogey to take oh no it’s a double bogey sorry AJ you’re right it [Applause] isn’t I took a sip of water right before you said that I I knew KN I should have done that I knew it oh our soundboy almost just got littered almost got drenched look at that AJ not AJ uh Luke Luke humph and Calvin both getting up to 13 now three-way tie at the top hole seven we saw Austin just throw this hole showed us the way that you’re supposed to do it and it is lucky you got to get through the branches High somehow get up there to park it the real shot though is a low shot that gets under the limbs barely and then has enough power to somehow skip in the thick grass I’ve seen it done it is possible that usually gets you just inside the circle to just outside this guy likes throwing low and hard one would think this is a good opportunity for right at the limbs I feel yeah yeah right at that tree that force over trying to keep the nose down sneaks through the first bit that’s a dangerous little putt right there cuz he’s going to want to run that and this green if you do airball you can get into a spot where you can’t make it yeah if you trickle a little left like 25 long left good luck and that’s going to be a nearly unmake putt I think from over there as well yes needs some good fortune great power on it yeah that is a beauty [Applause] Ricky just close enough to give it a chance and he has been how many times have we cut to him yesterday making a putt from anywhere 50 to 60 feet he was all over the basket yesterday oh there is a little window oh that you know that was going Ino oh man such a good effort what aoun yeah he’s so close to having a fire round going right now oh my gosh you just can’t make those silly mistakes the the pro tour has these little spots that all of a sudden you’re like wait I just took a a double boy completely uncalled for too I mean like you just yeah of course he’s trying to make that Putt and go for the hero Putt and he’s putting well but uh a double bogey there it’s amazing how fast it happens and how much it cost you well you have to go for it with this at this stage yeah dream hole checkin with Ezra W be on the scorecard but a lot of birdies and I think we’re going to see one more that was picture perfect love the width you don’t see so very many people able to play it that right he didn’t really even need to drift it just power it down the right side swing in park job maybe twice in a row yeah let’s keep it keep it going yeah that’s gorgeous I only that little limb kept it from being a bullseye and now he’s going to have to make a tricky putt super obstructed on that side we got Paul uberry once again on the oh no it’s not it’s Austin Turner and he did turner oh my gosh boy that’s nice are you kidding me boy that’s nice that’s the best shot we’ve seen today guys that was cool I still think the out of- bounds roller from AJ is going to be hard to beat for me that was such a good roller fire right now Ezra is on fire I’m beginning to think that those ulie jerseys might be good luck oh must be [Music] great birdie for AJ Carrey currently sitting five back of the five-way lead for first E Robinson now in that mix as well as Gavin Rathbun who’s just having kind of like a James Proctor 2023 type season Gavin’s been playing top seven eight in the world like incredibly and a player that we’ve seen play a bunch but this season they’re putting it together James propor 2023 yep yep I love it such a good kid such a good kid just got engaged [Music] to yeah this needs to start moving left otherwise High Grass second shot coming M you don’t see too many people over there a little bit low I’m sure he wanted that thing a little higher give it some time to swing one of the more generously wide Fairways you get to play on tour ho eight and I think it’s really nice that you get a hole like this that’s really tough plays overpar and they don’t add any extra out of bounds oh man that would ruin this hole I think if I agree string a bunch out of bounds just let people send them [Applause] lot of width never quite got flat decent distance tough spot right here yeah but no sign of playing it safe going full attack it’s real tricky trying to get your legs in that shot there and looks like it nothing really slowed him down maybe just threw the disc a bit too high but I mean it it seemed like his feet got through there pretty clean hard to say how bad that’ll be there there can be some tricky spots back there oh this is is not enough huh similar looking spot but yeah oh boy that thing even hezard hard left that’s that could be bad see if Ricky can get this on the right angle too much that’s going into the middle Bush yeah easy pitch out from there though typically Now cal might go wide and he does oh wow whoa been seen people do this who have that that sort of power right there wow W with the basket and two on whole eight with a fairway overstable Fairway driver and without turning a disc over even for one millisecond the entire time just heer Heiser that’s well done okay par secured this is what the other side of Milo looks like this is a strange hole because birdie feels so good and pars are kind of disappointing and boogies feel like a double absolutely that is weird man that was a good starting line for Ricky just didn’t quite have the height I think it nice put there I think it comes back to just that idea that it isn’t a hole that’s defined by out- of bounds so to have enough distance that it’s possible to make it happen and make an eagle get two shots onto the green like Calvin heimberg has done yeah fantastic I think it make it sort of is going to be that way you know where where then par is going to feel like oh I better at least get par cuz it’s not like you’re going to be coughing up Strokes to OB well it’s also a very unique hole in and you’re only throwing let’s say 400 420 off the teiser right which means you got a pretty long distance coming in but the shot it makes you shape is your distant shot yeah so it’s like everybody has that distance on a full Flex checking in whole 13 game bur finding the two Guardians left with 33 and 1/2 ft that he steps through on interesting how he stands still from 45 but likes the little step from that close does this one have a special name this hole yeah not that I know of okay it’s a weird name standing still okay that same [Applause] result wild I I don’t understand but I mean I understand that the result is two and that’s good Luke and Ganon playing on the same card they’re having a little battle together right now whole n Par 3 442 going downhill the whole way you can see the basket right down there it’s tempting you you just got to throw something hard low get the nose down so that it’s not swinging left because there’s out of bounds on that left side so dreamy really is did you mean to say Luke and Ganon are playing on the same card is that not what he said what did he say said luk and Calvin I think he said maybe I’m making the mistake here I apologize well if I did but that’s what you’re that is what you supp I mean it no I’m just kidding I still mean it Calvin coming up about 45 short I think for myself if I could land where Calvin just did every time for the rest of my life on this hole I think I would take it yeah sure really do cuz it’s kind of downhill and it’s kind of squared up nice you can run a lot of fun putts I I just think you know Milo Oregon in general not that windy a place great place for some circle 2 fun yep mhm you have you can afford to take some shots and you’re taking the potential for four out of play and the OB drives which happen occasionally get heavy he’s using the entire body English to try to get that to stand up or flatten out a bit maybe get some late Heiser I don’t think I would take it there this spot no not this spot where Matt is he’s a little outside but with his putting skill I bet he’d take it that’s fine I might take it kind of a slightly low ceiling I think that affected the run a bit there’s a better view of that ceiling this is the one you’re signing up for oh there it is unfortunately yeah I think so yeah hanging down and getting in the way of Calvin’s putt oh and I don’t want any part of these actually whoa whoa yeah that ceiling man is really I didn’t realize dictating forcing the issue I didn’t know please Milo don’t put me there oh this look way closer than I thought it was he had a little little extra to clean up there mhm there’s a nice little big old river behind there take a look one of the only views we get of it it would be cool to have like a basket clear that out put like an island over there kind of close lose all your disc in the ring River you know what I mean I do know what mean I know exactly what you mean you get it yeah great front nine Luke Humphries ganen bur Calvin heimberg out in the lead 14 under setting the pace for the moment see if that holds I don’t think it will we’ve got a lot of birdies coming up for the guys though I think some of the players with those scores are nearly done with the course so it’s going to be these top guys seeing if they can stretch the lead a little bit see if somebody can approach 17 18 under kind of number by the end of the day halfway through the event nine more holes to go here on moving day second round see in just a bit I want to say thanks to Matthew Peter egab bean I chose the hardest last name to try to pronounce what the heck is my problem Daniel Cooper thank
