This CHEAP Forgiving Hybrid Will TERIFY THE BIG GOLF BRANDS!

This CRAZY Cheap HYBRID Will TRANFORM GOLF FOREVER For The BETTER! In 2024 when buying new golf clubs we are always looking for the best budget golf clubs, the best forgiving golf clubs, and even the best CHEAP forgiving golf clubs. But in a world where the best mid handicap golf clubs are generally by companies like Taylor made, Ping and Callaway what about if we try a golf club that is brand new but also mega cheap and I think the most forgiving golf club of 2024!!

Introducing the new 2024 Macgregor Golf Clubs.

these could well be the ugliest golf clubs I’ve ever seen but I honestly think they might well do a job how everyone man name is James Robinson welcome back to this YouTube channel today we’re talking about the McGregor Vmax hybrids now as I’ve just said I think these look awful and if we start to really unravel them and see just what potentially they do offer I want to talk about the price as well because they are incredibly budget and for what they do you can see that like head shapewise that’s a really strange shape now I reviewed the ISS of these I’ve reviewed the driver reviewed the Fairway Woods all of them are exceptional value for money and all of them are quite forgiving as well so we’re going to test them out here in the golf course and in the studio for numbers as well and the big thing I want to see is how how good are they because for the price for sub1 what do you expect so we don’t have adjustable sleeve we don’t have changeable waiting what we do have is really nice sharp Leading Edge we have a little bit of a a be steel sole you could say here I don’t think we’re really supposed to say that because it’s obviously not a tailor made Club but from 200 yards out we’re in the roof for a reason here if we come in and just have a look at how this looks down at the ball it looks like it’s the perfect club for out the roof it’s a little bit more upright so that’s going to stop the ball moving to the right and there’s plenty of LOF on here this is a 24° version we’ve of course got the 21 degree version as well we start to put all these clubs together and put them in a bag with the driver the irons the wedges you can build a really forgiving set for not a lot of money we’re into the wind here a little bit let’s see how easy this is to hack out the roof look at that that could actually that’s just front bunker that actually didn’t do too bad to be honest and I struck that there shuck it right out of the toe it wasn’t the world’s best strike I think we’re probably a little bit too far out here really we’ll talk numbers as this video goes on but again I want to keep drawing attention to the price because I’ve struck that incredibly bad it’s still flying through the air and that’s running up to the front edge of the green pretty much you don’t have to strike these really well to get good results from them and that’s something which McGregor have absolutely smashed out the park when it comes to these new sets let’s go again and that one was really easy one to launch up to that right hand side I think if you’re in the market for a nice forgiving golf club that doesn’t set you back a ton of money this could well be one of the ones one of the ones that’s a little bit annoying there with all that mud I must say let’s move on so guys interestingly you can see there three shots all struck very differently but all gone a very very similar distance I think we bit off a little bit too much or more than we can choose should I say with distance but really really pleased with how consistent they’ve been so let’s now look at the 21 one degree and we’re going to jump in the studio and talk numbers in just a second but again it’s not a great looking golf club for me the head shape it’s a little bit strange it’s not like any golf club I have seen in the past and I think the fact that it’s so upright will certainly that’s not a great start is it bars it’s only the feral you can glue that back on but it won’t affect the performance of the club but what do we think this is designed to do I honestly think it’s like a a hack it out club I think the 24° is the perfect club for what we just showed you there where you’re in the Deep roof you just want to kind of get Club on ball try and get it out there but what if what if this 21° of Fairway finder so I feel like I have to stand a bit closer to it and then from here if I can just put that flight on it there so a little bit lower just chasing up the Fairway that’s probably going just over 200 yards for that money what more would you want from a club like this cuz it’s going to perform very different than the Fairway would it’s obviously going to perform different than the driving iron which I think so good and the driving iron for me could be the best value golf I’ve ever tested it’s really really really good it’s $ 69.99 it’s Insanity really is let’s go again can we get it a bit higher this time we can that one’s just out to the right hand side though so that’s the one where I got it a little bit toey and the face is just geared open just a little bit I think that was down to the shaft a little a little bit it wasn’t my best goal swing but certainly wasn’t that bad to go to the right the one thing I’ll say about these is they don’t have those premium components in them they don’t have KBS shafts in them they don’t have lampin grips on them it’s all McGregor’s own clubs and own stuff so is that a negative I think it possibly is when we talk numbers in a second the consistency is for me the most important thing if a golf club can perform consistently throughout a test and it’s that cheap I think generally we’re always going to be onto something rather good let’s jump in the studio and let’s talk numbers oh there we go that’s the one just off the deck nice little bit of turf interaction like I said those vents are going to be an absolute nightmare to clean shump inside when it was brand new and wasn’t full of mud so this could be the ugliest thing I’ve ever unveiled apart from Bobby as a cameraman sorry Bobby I had to get there I had to do it it was already in there but looking and looking at the price of these clubs I can’t believe first of all so this isn’t the first McGregor V foil club we have tested we just tested the driving iron the driving iron’s superb we’ve still got the numbers on screen so we’ll compare them a little bit looking down at it it’s a weird shape isn’t it Bobby it’s like yeah and like if you almost have to hold it to believe how weird it is we’ll keep it in we’ll run with it we’ll run with with it cuz it’s like a little bit upright as well so if anyone struggles with that shot to the right it’s a really nice little Club to look at that ball flight that I mean I don’t I don’t know if I Duff that or not I don’t know if it’s good distance 24° it’s probably not actually you’d probably want more from it but it’s gone absolutely Arrow straight there we go it’s in the grid again is it stay in the Grid or I look silly stayed in the grid that’s 208 yards and I think forgiveness wise this out of the roof so again I like to do these tests indoor and outdoor because a lot of people like to see numbers but also you like to see the real world scenario testing which I actually prefer but as a head style I don’t think it’s that I mean it’s ugly isn’t it think it’s ugly not the best it’s not the best looking you are so I think realistically it’s going to be the versatility of this club that you’re going to enjoy the most if you do go and buy it that and of course the price of it but if you struggle from like these kind of really awkward distances I can’t wait to show you the replay of where I’ve struck that from and that’s why I really enjoy this simulator because I’ve hit that that’s going 180 yards in the air and check this out here look at how much that face moved it’s still staying Square it’s still doing pretty well bobb’s not going to fall over the ball and put a HR claim in because we don’t go down that road do we Bobby but I must admit for a club that I probably wouldn’t be interested in buying I’ve certainly enjoyed testing it I certainly think there’s a target market for it I suppose the best thing I can say being in here in the numbers before we jump back outside is I’ve never tested a golf club like it I don’t really know what it is it’s almost like a mini Fairway it’s not a hybrid it’s not a hybrid I don’t care anyone says it’s not a hybrid and like the Angles and everything just really set you up to play really interesting golf shots guys let’s get back at the golf course let’s see how I’m utilizing this and how potentially it could fill gaps in your bag it’s just another 198 yard I don’t even know really what I’ve done to achieve that no idea so rather interesting numbers there and the club that I really want to focus on is the 24° so yes we’ve got the 21 but for me the 24° is a club where it almost looks even weirder because of the amount of Loft on it 24 degrees is quite a lot for a hybrid and like I keep mentioning that Li angle just makes it look a little bit strange the reason I think this is is to stop people hitting it right potentially because if the if the Loft does start pointing a little bit more this way you can see that that does just help you dynamically not hit the ball right so let’s hit a couple off the Fairway here it’s almost like a cheating club for me because you don’t have to strike it that well even these shots that we’ve hit down this Fairway they’ve all come around the same distance so when we talk about how good and how consistent a golf club can be I really think this could be something for the price as well how good will you anticipate it to be potentially not not amazing for the price into the wind here let’s go you can see that one’s come out like an absolute rocket it’s not moved left off the lie just short right of the Green Into The Wind I think I do struggle with these they’re certainly easy to launch but there we go that one just moving on the LI again guys if you’re in the market for a really forgiving hybrid if you do kind of have these specs with a regular shaft and plenty of Loft on there I’d certainly try one of these for the price do you want to see me I’d say compare it again something but I don’t know what I’d compare it with because I don’t really know many clubs that look this strange but anyway guys thanks for watching that is the McGregor Vmax hybrids and I absolutely love what mcgregory doing for the money oh he’s just gone left on me I thought that was going to be perfect

  1. These bot comments are wild. Anyways, you can just as well go on global golf and get a King Tec for like less than a hundred bucks. Got a “value condition” Cleveland cbx wedge which was basically brand new for $30.

I understand the appeal of these, but with so many brilliant second hand outlets, why not buy something where the ferrule doesn’t fall off after two swings

  2. I enjoy your little nugget finds of clubs. Hybrids in 18*, 21*, 24* is great idea for the bag I just added a 27* to a teenage sons bags removing his 6i. I am massive fan of a high loft hybrid if your swing leaves you when your at hole 12 with decent points on that days competition my 4 Hybrid and 7 wood have kept me contention with wedges and putting.
Expecting these to be in every teenage juniors bag.

  3. Come on Robbo, they are junk.
Faulty out of the box, just buy quality second hand, give it a couple of months and all the black paint will have scuffed to reveal the metal and they will look terrible.

  4. I am currently using a set of MacGregor iron hybrids, that I bought as heads only from McGregor. I matched them with KBS graphite shafts. These are really working for me better than any other hybrid iron I tried, if you can get better shafts these clubs will work, but they will still be ugly, but work?

  5. I don't think they look horrible at all. Not perfect – but not hideous. They look like a bitch to keep the sole clean though…
Edit: lol…you called it at the 5:00 minute mark…

  6. For what it’s worth, the U.S. website for MacGregor doesn’t offer anything that resembles what you have tested. No red to be found.

  7. Now they’re ugly? Wasn’t Jimmy saying a week or so ago he thought they looked pretty cool? Stop letting people change your mind bruh.

  8. Here in the US you cant find a hint of those hybrids on their web page or information on them. I think a component company selling their products under Macgregor’s name.

  9. Have just ordered the 24 degree. Do u have a link to your fairway wood video as intetested in the 5 wood as well.😊

  10. I took a punt, after watching your review, on the MacGregor V Max 4 driving iron and its a little beauty. For £64 i now have a considtent 195-205 yd club in the bag. Cheers, James.

  11. A lady at my golf course has purchased MacGreger petite irons custom made for her with -1 shafts. She loves them and she is having success with them.

  12. Compare the 18 and 21 degree MacGregor hybrids to the Cleveland 17 and 21 degree Hy-woods. Amazing clubs from Cleveland, I have the 17 degree and it is also anti-right and nearly as long as driver off the box because it launches high and hangs in the air forever.
