Scottie Scheffler grinds out victory | Round 4 highlights | the Memorial | 2024

In the final round of the 2024 Memorial presented by Workday, Scottie Scheffler battled difficult course conditions to card a 2-over 74, finishing at 8-under for the tournament to claim his fifth win of the season and his 11th victory of his PGA TOUR career.

The PGA TOUR returns to Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village Golf Club this week for the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, the seventh Signature Event on the PGA TOUR schedule this season. The best players will be in Ohio this week with all of the FedExCup’s top-10 in the field. Viktor Hovland defends his title and looks to become the first player since Tiger Woods to repeat at the Memorial. Hovland, who is the reigning FedExCup champion, returns to action after his third-place finish at the PGA Championship – his best result of 2024. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler also tees it up again this week. Scheffler, who finished second at the Memorial last season, has continued his run of dominance through 2024 over the last few weeks. Scheffler has finished outside the top-10 just once this season and has gone 1-1-T2-1-1-T8-T2 in his last seven starts. Rory McIlroy also tees it up in Ohio this week after his tie for fourth at the RBC Canadian Open last week. McIlroy has five top-10s in 12 starts at Muirfield Village. Others to look out for include Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Ludvig Åberg.

[Applause] this one might have to go a little bit that’s a mystery we talk about his distance control that is brilliant absolutely brilliant to bounce back at two as we go back to sheffler just tapping in for his part first hole morawa tap as well it’s interesting morawa probably was coming to the green thinking he could maybe pick up one on Scotty Sheffer or maybe even two that I believe is down the right side trying to set an okay angle and number yep perfect yeah Short Grass one yard closer for Scotty yeah that is pretty much the average shot of the day here he’s at five similar line doy very much so and another guy whose season’s been turned around by a putter change that was cruel yes when he putts well he wins easily when he putts average he wins closely and then when he doesn’t put well he nearly wins that’s exactly right last year he was dead last in putting of the players who made the cut that part A change that one almost finding the cup only one time all year outside the top 10 and that was a 17th on Paramount plus shler away gosh he almost fell over there a little difficulty here yesterday found the right Fairway bunker but not today he’s got to oil those shoes they sque second straight day with nine iron in here on a stellar line we hop about as distance control but is so good even the speed on these is so predictable for him that it makes the whole play [Music] bigger his first birdie of the day back to 10 under good contact always the times that we’ve seen whole out of shot from about this distance off the green this year ask a lot coming out of the big grass to do it there made the left to right at the previous let’s see what he does with the right to left thought he made it Trevor me too [Applause] speed was decent just needed to touch more break snap left the last foot so he does not see what the feet do now that he’s dug him in little less movement well that’s the first Superman we keep saying he’s special we got to change that stat now [Applause] nearly did it that looked good three and a half he got a few edges so far today sticky lie a little bit of a funky stance must fly the ball onto the putting surface just a def touch a shot with similarities to the Sunday hle location at austa you just don’t go there unless you’re Scotty yeah I was going to say look at this one wow I got goosebumps that is so good we are going to have some sort of drama over these last six [Applause] holes how morava with only the second birdie of the day at the 12 but beyond the ho get putt back uphill almost links like there that’s pretty special wow look he knows a few things it’s probably the worst part he’s said too yeah up and out very quickly and does it [Applause] [Music] again high and turning toward the hole Trevor easy pops [Applause] it that’s no gimi gosh it landed So Soft Jim for his Fifth and eight turns yes he knows the handshake is [Applause] coming Hollin says you go first and here it comes you make this place you got it done when you get it done done yes thanks appr thank you thanks happy to have you wonderful to have you as our wi thanks appreciate it thanks for a great turnament we’ll see you there the meeting of many would say the greatest not the co- greatest and here we go now the hug proud of here so proud of you I’m so say way to go Daddy I love you I’m so you Scotty win number 11 the the last two wins you had Meredith couldn not be here she was home preparing for the arrival of your first child how special is it for all three of you to be together for this one yeah it’s pretty fun um yeah it’s a yeah it’s fun he’s getting a little sunburn right now looks like but it’s it’s all good I get my hat here in a second yeah you not only did it in front of your family but in front of the first family of golf you got that iconic handshake from Jack Nicholas Barber just came up to congratulate you as well how significant how important is this victory yeah it’s pretty amazing I feel like I’ve had some some close calls at this tournament this is a tough place to close it out as you saw today the golf course was playing so tough and know I remember shaking Mr Nicholas’s hand a few years ago here and he told me um you know I didn’t make the putt today but one day I’ll make the Putt and you know be able to shake his hand and he was right and so that was uh pretty surreal moment to be able to do uh shake his hand as a winner here and uh yeah I’m honored Mr Nicholas all week talked about how your patience is what separates you from so many others how important was patience on a day like today and what does that look like for you when you’re not seeing the putts drop like you’re used to seeing yeah I mean it was the golf course was playing so tough today it was so firm so fast I mean closing it out down the stretch I mean 16 17 18 were playing brutally tough and I mean it was it was a fun test of golf I like it when it gets this hard and um yeah it was it was good to battle out like you said I didn’t I didn’t really do a whole lot great today but I did enough to to get the job done and one more time just with Meredith and Bennett right here what does it feel like to win as a father for the very first time yeah yeah it’s pretty fun you know this uh this tournament is very special to us and um it will be for a long time because of this moment congratulations go
