Mitchell in our Fantasy Football Draft the media hacks League because he was doing a show on on the station at the time we had some other folks in there and uh within minutes of the great cup ending on a believei Mitchell interception Rhett jumps in the chat and says hey Bo you really blew it going for the glory there at the end those lines yeah it was something I I don’t know if he said hey Bo I just think I didn’t I said look at buddy going for all the glory and I I don’t know if you remember that he was in the or if it was just one of those things you know what rett’s going to tell you how it is how he sees it he’s not going to sugar coat [ __ ] it’s weird CU people could pick on me for losing three cups like it’s fair game but as soon as I take a jab it was fresh though was fresh and he would have still been on the field gotten back to his phone yeah I think I didit I thought it was hilarious at the time I thought I was really on to something I had some good yucks to myself I woke dollars I was gonna be really impressed wow I’m going to uh I think that I think the plan I think it’s been confirmed uh but when we’re back home in the uh in the Homeland weeks every this goes back to when I was younger it was countryfest which was much like Craven Big Valley jamere or whatever it was called right um and a lot of the same acts would kind of cycle through so they’d sto the first week it was one weekend and then the next weekend was uh was in Sask oh do you have the lineup there Jackie boy before I start bling away about something altogether different the uh the whoop-de-doo Music Fest the Dave Matthews cover band that’s uh they’re leading off never classic R Steinberg’s flying in for that yeah for sure yeah if he’s not in the band 22 caliber I think we’ve heard of them or is so are we should we guess who you’re excited to see out of this group hints of Thunder is that rupe hints band what you got funk night event or is it a one day I don’t even know like did it start today boy there’s a lot of venues here uh well it’s a it’s it’s a Street Fest really DAV and Goliath the brass machine Grateful Dead tribute band brass hole the brass holes three to five at the blue-eyed Baker yes brass more excited now I I bet you brassle has got uh a large horn section oh the strictly hipper playing somewhere in there really oh is that what it there we go now it’s all uh make it sense all coming all coming home now yeah I got it I got it I I I hope they’re playing rat they’re playing wouldn’t be the first time we oh there it is the strictly hip 7il 8:30 classic rink on best we have not seen it since Sochi coochi new event for the 425 NHL season the NHL four nations Faceoff will feature International Tournament play between NHL players from Canada Finland Sweden and the United States it will take place in February of 20125 in two North American cities one in Canada and one in the United States the NHL all-star weekend will not be held in the 2425 season dang wow the four nation’s Faceoff will consist of a total of seven games played over a 9-day period from Feb 12 to Feb 20 along with a pair of designated training Practice Day how many games say that again seven total over a nday period so they might have to do a round robin and then you would seed and play your finals yeah can’t wait for the you do mid season tournament that’s going to be awesome be a year ahead of the Olympics and honestly we’ve never seen McDavid and Crosby on the same team and we’ve never had like Austin Matthews and Patty Kane on the same team this I think the best rival in sport could have been for the last 10 years Canada USA and hockey we just haven’t had it it’s too bad yeah unless uh the us would have just been kicking the [ __ ] out of us for the last decade but would they have our attention hell yeah okay yeah right like that’s a rivalry you don’t go 10 and0 and it’s a rivalry you got to lose some what if go and 10 then you want to beat those mfers really bad okay but that would suggest that maybe no no then you have a summit that’s true defin a summit and everyone would be hand ringing the problem is that the summit they got kind of all got [ __ ] because Russia’s in The Penalty Box like what are we doing here yeah are we playing how do you thr Russ a best on best at the sutina rink is that where this the four nations face on it totally sounds like a spring tournament yeah are you guys going in that four nations yeah spring break what are you doing we’re going uh we’re going to on a cruise oh we’re going to the four nations face off oh my positivity but that leads to a staggering amount of negativity when somebody disagrees with your positivity so then when you spin it back you’re you’re overly negative about their opinion on things but you just see it as you being positive in favor of your opinion I’m struggling with that there’s a lot of words there that’s a lot you’re agree with you thank you succinct to the point you’re a like this is hilarious like this was a team I greb up cheering for and now I’m like this is the most toxic workplace I’ve ever been in and I’ve worked with Dean for 10 years like I got yelled at so nations face off very excited for it tell we’re very excited or Marty Walsh he’ll be uh else what else is on their agenda besides I think we’re gonna get a Utah question or two for sure but I don’t know that there’s any Mammoth is that they’re gonna ask it’s gonna be and we’re all gonna be disappointed now our next our Our Guest here he would have attended plenty of these they happen draft PR guy yeah it was always a thing because we would have our table set up at the draft and Gary would come out to talk to Kerr and I and I I would just step aside it was Kerr’s thing I was very happy to let Kerr Do It um Gary’s Hair it was always the thing about because there’s TV cameras everywhere and he’s going up on the podium he’s going to be up there night the hair you can’t you have a little flyer you know a little kind of an alfalfa thing going it’s no good and all we had was like headphone headset microphones so it was either hold the headset like this because he was not going to put it on there was just that was not going to happen do we have a stick mic then how are you going to hear that sort of thing so we we learned over the over the course of time Gary can’t get the headset needs a stick I I can tell you that one of the more surprising experiences that I’ve had more I witnessed with the commissioner uh was again several years ago and they used to have the Board of Governors meetings at Spanish Bay right so you know guys like me it was one of the few times where I played Pebble Beach spy glass Spanish Bay like top golf courses in North America and I’m up early I’m out for a walk we’d SP we’d stay at the in at Spanish Bay it was beautiful it’s part of the media on to rush and I’m up early walking along the ocean and I look up and I’m like it’s a guy kind of lumber but he’s jogging like he’s doing his best coming down the beach and around it’s more of a boardwalk than Beach yeah I look up I’m like geez that looks like bman it cannot be Gary bman it can’t be and then he gets closer in fact it was commissioner bman with two braces on his knees really like legit Donjoy like hardcore braces yeah and he’s out there just pounding it I was like looks like an offensive tackle I got a new level of respect for the kamesh yeah he is an imposing figure well he wouldn’t go that far but I mean he puts in the work he does hey better hey no [ __ ] good on him for doing it now out of because just I’m thinking about that you I mean you’ve had some some great spots when you go to cover what was the best one what was the one on your calendar where it’s like all right we’re two weeks away from going to cover this it’s about nine minutes we do one standup in the morning we do one in the afternoon and the day is ours yeah what was the best one that’s right up there right because again I I had a buddy come from out west and join me so you know we’d play Pebble Beach and then the next day we’d play spy glass and then the next day Spanish Bay and I’m all by the way I’m working right here for sure that’s right up there from an NHL perspective the men’s World Hockey Championship is the boond doggle of all boond doggles because of the time change you know you’ve got seven eight nine hour time change um you know the first year I went I got to think back to where this was well I know it was in Prague um I mean or Paris we’ve stayed you know like we were maybe 150 yards from the Eiffel Tower stuff like that so yeah I’ve had some fortunate trips but that those boondoggles are over you may have noticed we don’t we don’t do that much anymore you know the industry is yeah the industry is kind of grinding to a halt yeah as we all sit in our fraking den exactly EXA we’re all in our shitty little little rooms that we can have in our house where nothing else needs to happen damn what else was I gonna now did I guess just talk did you how often did you do World Juniors because that’s Christmas and that’s away from family did you do that yeah I’ve no I’ve never had to do it um that’s you know one of Bobby Mack yeah I remember the Dreer Cafe so that would have been what worlds yeah that was men’s worlds yeah but uh no Bob still does the the world juniors in Studio though right like I mean I’m sure TSN would would love to have him and James travel but they don’t bother doing that anymore it’s more convenient Bob has Grand children so that in the draft but that’s the reason I’ve never gotten involved and obviously um it would be wheelhouse for me you know I go to the Memorial Cup every year at least for a few days and cut my teeth in junior hockey back in the days but uh yeah I’ve always enjoyed taking Christmas off and just kind of yeah we lounging around it’s awesome lazy now you mentioned Junior Hockey cuz you kind of lead me right into it cuzz I wanted to ask you your uh your chronological Journey it starts your tiny can you guys hear that what I think there’s a bear in your house pretty close she’s but she’s not bringing it back so nah it’s more of just a walk and just sniffing around the forest that’s about it so I was going to say so Junior hockey uh now were you in Dolphin first or did you start in brand how did that go we Kings no no I started in Yorkton sasat right yeah GX 94 GX 94 with the Yon Terriers and did a lot of senior hockey and stuff like that a little bit of news coverage first ever brawl York terriers really who who are you playing with Blazers and Saskatoon how old I was 15 nice yeah times that that happened back then you you could go to an SJ game or a or a junior a game and you don’t know what was going to happen that night yeah could have been anything so then it’s so it’s Yorkton you’re doing week Kings play byplay you shift to TV that’s where I kind of got to see you knew of you obviously before that you’re doing uh ckx then it’s Winnipeg covering the Jets and then City TV launches and where do you go Edmonton or Calgary Edmonton yeah a channel remember that right with the Craig broadcast yeah it’s gonna be great so the one of the most fabulous experiences I’ve so I mean they were literally duct taping the wiring to try and and get the the Edmonson station going and so I negotiate my contract and you know basically it’s it’s a flat wash leaving Winnipeg CKY to go to Edmonton but at the time Maple Lea sports and entertainment um managed the broadcast rights right so a channel had the Oilers which was why I was going in the first place and they were supposed to kick in another 2530 Grand to my deal so that was enough okay you know there’s a platform the Jets aren’t in Winnipeg anymore I might as well do what I can do to get back into the NHL get there and they’re by and I’m like okay well so do I invoice you know uh uh Molson whatever was called or do I invoice a channel what do I do and they both look at me and they’re like well no they’re paying no no they’re paying so I ended up getting shafted by that um so you know what it actually worked out okay I shouldn’t complain I spent n 30 grand of beer how’d that end up yeah yeah well it was so bad that so I mean because you’re on TV you have a clothing allowance or a clothing deal so I spent nine months there and they owed me X number of thousands of dollars it wasn’t a lot save five grand for clothing and I never got it so I’m like all right well again you can just write me the check it’s no big deal you know my last day is like July 15th or whatever no no yeah we’re not going to do that so I said okay no problem then my last day is tomorrow yeah and it wasn’t but it was like they rather than pay me they just caught me loose two weeks earlier whatever it was it was just insanity but so the story I was quickly going to tell when they had the launch party they had this big golf tent outside of hm Edmonton and Jan Arden was there to to put a concert on and the whole bed and the power kept going out start a song and the lights would go out and the lights would stop like the power would go out and and she was there to present the concert so that they could launch like a channel would go on the air with a flip of the switch at like 11m right and power kept going out oh my God it was so oh it’s it’s just classic it really is but yeah I was because uh because they launched Calgary at the same time right wasn’t that kind of how that worked H chel and both few yeah so I mean you you were there but you know that market you’ve always kind of had ties to yeah to Edmonton you you know the you’re going back to the Kevin low days and you’ve so you you can appreciate what this means and now to watch what’s happening there I mean we sit here we have some fun oh it’s terrible whatever but if they’re not Canada’s team and we can debate that and there’s no answer to that this means an incredible amount to that City not it’s it’s like the riders in Regina the Oilers to the city of Edmonton yeah it’s it’s tough to match that it sounds like a shot but there was the Red Mile here and Canucks do their thing in 2011 but there’s some that Oilers that city is wound right tight for this it is and and you guys can can can probably confirm this as well it feels to me like Flames fans kind of obviously are around Calgary uh and then they drift West so you’d probably have a good number of flames fans in a certain chunk of BC of course they Vancouver Canucks fans I don’t think there’s as many Flames fans going east of Calgary than there are Oilers fans that I mean that that could be just dead knots wrong I don’t know I just know because where I grew up lber scatch is the home of Kelly buckberg right well obviously sure you know it’s a small town so you know everybody cheered for Bucky when he was with the Oilers back in the day so maybe that’s why you know that the the the Oilers following still remain so strong in that part of the world but I you know I’ve had buddies and buddies kids reaching out to me in the last week you know hey any chance you got an in on tickets like that it’s just insane so yeah I mean it’s it’s it’s important to the market it’s important to the organization every organization that’s why you’re in it every general manager every coach every player that’s why you’re in it um but I don’t know that if Edmonton Winsor loses the Stanley Cup Final to the Florida Panthers we’re going to feel differently of how they got there or you know what they have to do in their decision making moving forward to try and successfully defend Etc you know it’s just it’s one of those things they put the building blocks in place and everything everything kind of fell into the puzzle that’s been built and here they are in the final it’s interesting you mention that because I know when we were obviously we do this every day and as it was shaping up it was like guys I don’t like this they got La in round one I’d rather they had Vegas and then maybe it’s going to be Vancouver this could be a soft March to the cup I don’t feel that way right now I they’re full works and part of it is what they what they did and part of it is what Dallas and Colorado and Vegas did not do they do not deserve to be there they just don’t edth or not they deserve to be represented West they’re the team to do it I got to tell you man I I disappointed doesn’t matter I’m I’m not disappointed in the Dallas Stars I I I picked Dallas to beat the Oilers in the Western Conference Final and for a myriad of reasons they just couldn’t do it they couldn’t establish their game plan they couldn’t find a way to protect Jake Ginger better now why is that is that you it has to be a combination doesn’t it of Dallas not doing what they were supposed to but Edmonton not allowing Dallas to to do I guess the one thing that I would say is you know Edmonton had what 10 shots in game six the deciding game I mean okay you had the McDavid highlight goal to make it one nothing the power play clicks to make it one nothing two nothing but 10 shots like they’re not coming close to beating Florida if Florida maintains a a similar respect defensively and structurally because Florida will do what is necessary to find a way to get to steu Skinner in a fashion that the Dallas Stars just didn’t seem capable of do we almost sort of said that was a feather in the cap of the Oilers to play that poorly and still win and close out a series like yeah they really to go 15 plus minutes with a shot in a deciding like elimination game and still win it like [ __ ] that’s that tells you that this isn’t just two guys um albeit the two guys are the other things right like the the penalty kill perfect going to Harang about special teams we’ll be talking about the power play and stop taking penalties and the refs need to be their penalty kill their defensive play their shots against it’s all been and it’s not been their calling card I’m trying to think when did this start did it start in the playoffs we were never trumpeting edmon more or less Paul coffee Paul coffee well and Mark Stewart right Rett I mean that’s we don’t give enough credit I mean the head coach is there for a reason to make that final decision but as I hey look I I need time for chis noblock because he’s got a set of goads man like he’s made some tough calls in the playoffs but Mark Stewart’s in charge of the penalty kill and the influence of Paul coffee is obviously there power play defense like when they made the decision to put broberg in a lineup in the Western Conference Final and pull out day r eight that’s Paul coffee making that call you know it’s not like Chris noblock didn’t have any input you know if he put up a fuss and said no we’re not doing that and here’s why I’m the head co no but that’s how much respect that everybody has for for Paul coffee but I kind of grow weary from time to time about the accolades the flowers that we give to the head coaches of course that by definition that they deserve the attention but it’s like Bill Dy the rest of these guys do the work 100% well like who are some of the guys that you played for we’ve talked about Jim Playfair and how much respect you have for him well all of it anyone you you watch any coach the guys what drgs is saying is bang on the guys that are at the rink watching the G not that the coach doesn’t oversee it or Point him in these directions or have a game plan those guys put in hard hours and time and and they put together a lot of the stuff they give the coach the option okay AG we’re seeing this we want to try this or we could do this what do you think and the coach makes a decision but those guys just put in all they put in all the work I’m sorry they just do and I would not guess coffee would be that guy and and the thing is at the time because just because and it’s probably not fair certainly not fair to coffee but because they’ve done the old boys club for so long it’s cig McTavish Charlie huie you know cycling the alumni through I I’ll be honest it felt like Paul coffee doesn’t feel like to me a guy who’s in that coaching fraternity he just seems like he’s does just he’s got lots of money I’d rather golf I just it was a surprising hire to me uh I I’ve dead wrong yeah I mean he did he has a bit of a coaching resume I mean you know ojhl so Junior Hockey tier 2 hockey I mean keep in mind Marty St Louie you know went from minor hockey to head coach of the Montreal Canadians I mean it’s ingrained it’s in their DNA um especially when you got smart hockey people like Paul coffee and Marty St Louie but I you know cof is old school you know I haven’t had a conversation with him directly about this but he’s not a coach and it’s weird for for this era of player he’s not grinding the players through video like I’m sure noblock and and they’ll have special team video sessions but cough isn’t sitting down with his defensive Corp and picking apart like he he has excellent communication individually and with the group but it’s more with him about ey test and feel how does the game feel how did that game feel you know I mean everybody talks about matio Echo being a a Lifeline for Evan Bard and that’s that’s somewhat obvious because of the way that echome plays and how that’s more or less freed buard up to be what Evan Bard is Paul coffee’s had a tremendous amount of influence on on Evan Bard tremendous [ __ ] look at the way he plays I mean be a better Mentor like if Bobby or is not there it’s got to be coffee yeah yeah and Paul coffee in his Heyday this entire career he wasn’t worried about the mistakes that he made he wasn’t choking his stick because oh I just turned the puck over like that didn’t even enter his mindset he’s always been that it feels like he’s always been that guy always that guy and that’s how he coaches yeah um I guess and then on the other side this one’s hard to hard to handicap in a way I know that the I was looking this morning betway has the Florida Panthers as a as a favorite minus 130 somewhere like that somewhere in that yeah Oilers are plus 115 I don’t see a dud here I I I think this and we’ve had some we thought in because we were getting excited Florida Tampa Bay round one this going to be a brawl and it was not went to pick Colorado going to be a banger oh man load me up nope Colorado Dallas it went six but it was kind of a a Rett and I talked about it yesterday we were having a chat there’s been some moments but I feel like for all the parody and how much good hockey we thought we were going to see it’s been spotty we s Toronto gave us some moments in Round in round one and there was a game seven but but I feel like both of these teams they’ve had enough rest they’re healthy there’s no glaring injury coming in this this feels like six7 to me right across the board I’m with you and if that’s the case then it it leans towards the Florida Panthers right because that’s the mo of Florida and they publicly they’ll openly talk about that’s in wheelhouse right when they can wear teams down later into the series so how are they going to do that you know physicality can be defined many different ways you know are they going to run the Edmonton ERS defense on the forch yeah they’re going to try but most teams do that’s you know that’s not unique to the approach of Florida I I think it’s more in how they manage Conor McDavid you know trying to slow him down stand him up on the blue line if there’s an opportunity or dry cidal or NJ or Z kimman anybody you know front of the net Stu Skinner has been a lot he he’s been allowed to elevate his game and regain his confidence so again credit to the structure of the orders their defense that’s not going to be the case I don’t think because Matthew kachuck Sam Bennett I mean go down the list of those guys that they’re going to take their swings at him every chance they can every single chance that netfront should be a war zone in the Stanley Cup Final I think it will and and maybe most importantly everyone is committed in this series you don’t get to the Stanley Cup Final unless you’re willing to block shots and do all the cliche stuff but when I think of barov when I think of Bennett when I think of eblad when I think of forsling I mean I guess you could throw kachak and Reinhardt and their top players into this mix they seem to relish shutting down the opposition’s best players as much as they do generating offense and scoring goals certainly barkov and Bennett and forsling and ebud that’s going to be problematic that’s going to be problematic for for the Oilers so but M it’s McDavid too right well they got the two best players in the series I have a tough time with anyone trying to paint the Oilers this huge underdogs here those guys could take over games look at game six against Dallas McDavid on the power play one guy in the world can make that play one nothing you only got nine shots after that you move on yeah and what happens here so the the Florida Panthers have been for the most part fairly disciplined at this point of the playoffs right again playing that style that and I think we overstate it I think the media in general you know has this vision of you know the the bad the big bad fly liers of the Boston Bruins back in the ha they’re not that they’re not that and and they’re going to try and impose their will but all it’s going to take is a couple of ticky tacky calls early on like just the touch on the hands on McDavid and oop the arm goes up and here goes the uers power play or just a push in front of the net you know that little cross check that they’ve they’ve cracked down on you know in the corners and the front of the net I mean if that’s stuff gets called the way they say it’s going to be called then you know Florida’s going to have to Tippy Toe at least early in the series and that might open things up for McDavid and Company quick pivot I I know your colleague Pierre LeBron had he’s had he’s putting stuff out all the time but the most recent Rumblings yeah Rumblings Rumblings I saw the Rumblings uh Marty NIS uh but I want to start with uh with Jacob markstrom that the New Jersey Calgary thing has rekindled if it ever you know went away for a little bit whatever you want to call it uh Pierre is saying that it’s markstrom is still in inclined to yeah to go to New Jersey if something were to happen does this I guess it the more it just feels like this was the fit all along he did mention there’s other teams that have gotten into The Fray any idea who these other teams or thoughts on who they might be well I can’t imagine the Toronto Maple Lees hav’t at least connected with Calgary on marstrom uh they know that they need need a more consistent level of goal tending and that probably is more to do with Joseph wo’s bad luck and his inability to stay healthy um so they need a guy who can put in 50 games you know an upgrade on on that area of the game and and the history that tree living would have with March and was just is Toronto willing to part with the assets we know that New Jersey is but according to LeBron’s piece you know Fitzgerald also talked about what wanting to changes forwards to get something different there wanting to add something to his defense well the 10th pick overall is in play but I’m sure Calgary wants that as part of a package for March yeah it would it would make uh it would it just it would make a lot of sense because so often you get into these scenarios and Marner would be one of them where the player has the no move and he’s going to control everything well here there’s a team that would like markstrom and a team that is prepared to move him and the player is prepared to go it feels like those are three real and there’s cap space like whenever we do these hypothetical trade talks there’s usually one stumbling block yeah but how do they fit him in the cap yeah but he’s got a no move all that kind of I guess if the if the Flames are gonna eat money would be the only other thing if they’re gonna two years left on that salary there’s wouldn’t have to but that’s a good way to sort of give some value to to yeah to New Jersey ah we don’t want to move 10 okay well we’ll eat two million a year well if I’m Fitzy I get that deal done because the one thing that New Jersey cannot do is start the season with a question marking goal ending you know yeah he’s made some bold decisions he just got a contract extension midseason so he’s in good shape as general manager just played the fire the coach card and and you know hired somewhat of a rival in Sheldon Keefe who I think is a good coach but there’s a lot of not risks but significant moves that Fitzgerald has already made but now he’s got a really snug up that belt as general manager and improve his roster and for me it starts in goal and it starts with Jacob markstrom I I just I’d be surprised if they don’t find a way to get that so if we talked about this the other day if the framework in play is number 10 to the flames and markstrom to the devils and we got to figure out some other stuff yeah who’s saying I need more or are we assuming retention I mean walk us through where is number 10 more valuable than Jacob markstrom or would that vary team by team based on how they value the position yeah I well look I I think going into the trade deadline that Fitzy wasn’t interested in trading the 10th overall pick at that point no it wouldn’t have been 10 right they get Mar they might make playoffs yeah yeah that’s right but they he didn’t want to give up that pick um and now he’s publicly disclosing that he’s willing to give up that pick when I I I’m not a draft Guru but I I know this class I would say fairly well you’re getting lell of a player 10th overall I mean you never know what the long run is I mean you’re talking three four five years you know before you get that NHL established player um but I mean if I’m Fitzy and it and the 10th pick overall is required to to get marrom then yeah I’m probably asking for a little retention by the way just for context fellas the Devils were the the fifth highest odds to win the Cup this year only Colorado Carolina Toronto eon tier numbers like the Devils beat the Rangers last year came back 20 it’s the devil’s year it’s the devil’s time like that just the backround drop of all the changes they’ve made the Buffalo Sabers they’ve got they’ve drafted enough players they got enough youth they got young guys it’s time to make a push and get in give me some players that can play now and help us get there he has slow 10 11 Flames Flames Flames he has slow played everything since getting here and I’m talking about Kevin Adams and well we’re in it and there was a concerted effort between the coach and Kevin Adams old Donnie Granado and Adams they had the philosophy that we’re growing and we’re learning and we’re growing and it’s a process and we’re growing and it’s a process and we’re learning and we’re we’re bringing in quality individuals and tal it’s gone on too long yeah they should have went all in last year with the momentum they had they should have tried to do something big last year they didn’t because they had a nice push the year before the problem with the push the year before that was completely unexpected and half of it was to do with the the rest of the league when they went up against the Buffalo saers were big deal like they’re they’re sleeping in those games and that happens we talked to two days ago because te went to Buffalo in that mock that we talked about um and it was said the exact that we read word for word Buffalo absolutely has this pick and play there’s talk around the league that they they don’t necessarily need this they’ve got lots of young kids coming you didn’t like the idea of platooning UPL and Maria I I think it’s a similar like you need two guys the in today’s NHL don’t you I do but I think UPL and around here work I’m closer to it what they like him they like him they think he can do the job so I just I’m not saying that he wouldn’t Mark I just think it’s a longer shot but that being said I just had a conversation with the guy this morning he needs to do something because you know who’s next on the chopping block him him the other team that’s in there forget he’s been there a while now right they they got the Taylor Hall thing going back and they do have a lot of Youth and kids and stuff they’re soft as puppy poo they have Terri terrible like they’ve got quality defensemen but they’re terrible in their own end and like well I already said it they’re soft as puppy poo so Dino who would they want that’s the I was just gonna say usually we can okay let’s make this work on the back end you’ve got darene power and you just traded for bow and Byrum they got that samelson guy too they like so I don’t know that there’s a huge need there you’d maybe like somebody that’s a little bit older if you could have an established guy grizzled yeah um and then up front like you say you’ve got so you just got you got a ton of soft up front they need guys to dig in and have a little bit of push they just would you move Rasmus Anderson for 11 and the context being Rasmus has two years left and then he’s a UFA and he’ll be approaching 30 I would no wow wait are we getting nine 10 and 11 well you’re getting 11 for sure and then if you mark for 10 then you have n 10 11 the only issue I see with that is that Rasmus Anderson is a good player and he’s still young enough and you have no defense I mean yeah I can’t answer it because I think it’s a it’s a deeper question if you are going to look at moving Anderson for that 11th spot and I don’t know that Anderson’s what they want anyway I know I I just don’t yeah I know but even if you were I don’t I would have to look at who’s available in free agency as far as defenseman because I don’t care what they say Craig Conroy and ainla and all the they’re re tooling and rebuilding but what they don’t want is San Jose style they don’t want 3,000 people at the rink and I think the the Flames fans will come out to watch but if yours that you know what I mean but the thing of it is you you look at what’s happened over the last six eight months they’re kind of there anyway right if you’re Trading arrom you’ve basically stripped it bare you traded hanifen and Lindo you trade you’ve traded the the nucleus of your team you’ve still got some you’ve still got some guys but let’s be honest if you then trade Anderson away does that does that one move turn it into a full-fledged tear down well it might be pick number one play in the NHL and you don’t want to ruin your goal tender the up and Comber yeah but Dustin wolf can’t be even though you can go to and say dude just play don’t worry about [ __ ] that you’re giving up game and you’re playing your ass off that doesn’t feel very good yeah and again I think they’re gonna add a Dem man whether or not my my position on Rasmus would be you don’t have to make this decision now and it unless your socks are absolutely blown off you don’t make this decision now in a year from now he’ll have one year left at four and a half no matter what Ras serson looks like the best version of himself for last year’s which is not very good he’s still a steal at$ four and a half million dollar and there’s no like oh you
