the greatest running back you’ve seen so you got to keep it present day right it there was Archie listen Sam I don’t know who was the Buckey’s running back of the late 1970s I don’t know I don’t know who the running backs were in the eight I know Keith Pyers but then I start you it kind of for me starts with like Eddie George and then goes on Eddie George was really the nothing against all the other guys but Eddie George was so damn good that Illinois game for me it maybe Keith it starts Keith buers uh ultraback raymont Harris but for me it starts kind of there and and then goes through Keith Byers didn’t win a a uh whatch call Heisman did he he did not but here’s some trivia question I wish there were more people that were on because we just started the show and then the audience grows I wish there were more people on or listening that could get this little little known fact did you know or I should ask you do you know which Buckeye football player was on Save By The Bell no I do no absolutely not you do not Keith fires well mean well no just talking about that makes sense though right no well here’s the the thing though so there was a episode where Slater was gonna like play in the big game against like I don’t know State high or whatever it is I don’t know who’s Bay bayside’s rival whoever it was and there was something going on where he had to like pass a test or he could have been suspended or whatever it was and then at the end like they always do Zach gets him out of the predicament and then they show a highlight of How basai High beat the Rival school and the Highlight that they showed was Keith buers running all over a team so they actually used a Keith buyers highlight in Save By the Bell Keith buers by the way when he went pro with the Eagles tight end and running back you don’t see that and pretty damn good at both you just don’t see that very much all right I’ve got by the way deliver on your uh are are we still doing the uh dude we’re doing bombed out who was the guy during the Tres years who is the five-star recruit who from Miami it’s like we we made because I was doing sports radio at the time at 97.1 The Fan and we made a huge deal about this guy because he was a five-star out of Florida and he just did it was not Maurice Wells it was something Wells and he just he did nothing here but he was a five-star guy and you know how trest never kind of went outside of Ohio and if he did it was always a big deal it was always like a festar guy like TP someone like that and it was something Wells and he just stunk yeah I mean I feel like high stes had a couple of those as well I’m trying to I’m trying to look it up right now was good do we had some good F fullbacks too back in the day in the trust a remember uh Brandon Joe dude brand Westerville South Westerville South Zone man dude Brandon Joe I haven’t seen him in a while but the last time I seen him he looked I saw him I um do Roy Hall has a food drive and I do it every year with my family and I saw brand and Joe like two years ago at the food drive and bran and Joe looks like he could lace him up and still play I Remember wasn’t he the one that well he was at uh Ohio state tourist PEC trying to bench like 600 pounds or something who was that Brandon Joe yeah Brandon Joe could have could have happened by the way Daryl’s drinking blackberry moonshine have you heard about the new BlackBerry Crown Royal it’s it’s my so I heard it’s good it’s straight it’s terrible but I bet it would make a really good cocktail I do like I do like me some Crown you mix it with like soda not soda soda but soda water I don’t know I feel like that would probably make a pretty good like um like a flavored uh Manhattan or a flavored oldfashioned okay I got you like a Blackberry old fashioned or something like that yeah I’m striking out here buddy let’s get to it um yeah so second beginning of the second segment who’s the greatest Bucky running back of all time uh Memorial update obviously the memorial tournament’s going on over in at the village in Dublin uh currently we got Scotty Sheffer and Adam hadwin leading at 6 under uh little side note thank you local law enforcement for not arresting Sheffer to this point lud oberg uh young guy upand Comer on the tour is currently sitting at minus four Rory Ma uh sitting at minus three both lurking and the low round of the day went to Christian uh excuse me bason hoot uh tough with a minus five today but tough conditions winds blowing up to 30 miles an hours the course is starting to dry out a little bit um yeah not not a lot of scoring going on out there just to put it in perspective there’s a couple guys at minus one and minus three pretty much everyone shooting even or a little overp part of it I I I like this course I like the I like it when it’s tough conditions you know in the past guys have been 18 under and win it it could be 18 under this this week who knows but I like golf tournaments where you know obviously Sam when the when the golf course is tough the golfers don’t like it you know on 16 I do know a little golf I don’t like to show it but um you know this year uh 16 was giving golfers problems in previous years and they complained so Jack changed it made it a little easier I like it when it’s harder right I really like it’s when it’s harder the golfers like it when it’s easier but I enjoy I would I would like to see Roy Rory though what what’s going on with Rory why is Rory not winning more he’s playing well but he’s not winning uh he can’t putt or chip I mean his short games his short game’s abisal the guy’s a he’s a leprechaun he’s 5’7 and a buck 40 hits it hits it farther than anybody on tour he does things that a guy that’s short I’m exaggerating I just don’t like the guy but the guy can’t putt the guy can’t chip uh comes Saturday and Sunday he typically falls falls behind a little bit you know he’s one of those guys that I think could go down in history if his career keeps going the way it was or is that you know he he wins the FedEx Cup because he’s competitive and he’s in these tournaments to accumulate these points and at the end of the year he’s got more points than anybody else that walks home with a 10 or 15 million trophy or 10 or 15 million in a trophy but isn’t we don’t talk about FedEx Cup winners we talk about major championships and tournaments you won that’s that’s how we we weigh you against the greats of the game that’s why Jack Nicholas is who he is that’s why Tiger Woods is who he is so you know he’s the good news is he’s got probably a lot more free time on his hands now with the uh with the divorce so he can maybe commit himself or fall back in love marry himself to the game again is he like a little bit like a rich man’s like David Duval well I mean du D dual only won one major what how many majors have rori won uh four yeah but like David Duval was really good but just couldn’t get over the hump well you know why though right injuries he got he got real bad vertigo that he couldn’t shake when he oh really Vero okay well and then also Tiger Tiger Wood stepped in and and that was the end of that he did that to a lot of people but I think when you look at the leaderboard you know Victor havland I think he’s won in the past Rory shafley uh morawa who uh didn’t he win it a couple years ago or Matsuyama won it correct yes yes he won it I mean so you’re seeing some not that I’m a golf expert but you’re seeing some familiar faces who have had success in the memorial uh at the top of this leaderboard and what’s good about it is no one’s out so the weather’s supposed to be great this weekend and this is one of the Premier courses I know Sam that we talk about and I know the guys from menace to sports were out there thanks for the invite guys um I I know that a a lot of people say this is one of the Premier tournaments and it is one of those select eight second I forgot what they call them like premium tournaments where they have the majors the four majors and they have like eight select premium tournaments right now where they’re smaller fields and there’s always been a smaller field at the memorial in fact they’re doing you know uh they did Pairs and they started from H one which I love but I was talking to herig today this morning from SI and he’s wrote tons of books on tiger and Phil and I just asked him like from a national level no BS is this one of the elite tournaments because in Columbus we always say it is we always oh the memorial it’s one of the best it’s Jack’s tournament but what does people outside of Columbus the nonbiased people think because we always think everybody thinks what you have is the best whether it could be a tournament Wisconsin or Michigan or whatever it is you always think well our tournament’s the best and Bobby Harris said no no no there are four majors and then right behind it it is the memorial and Sam I tell you what I sure hope that they move the memorial back I like the memorial one week and then the US Open having it by the US Open I don’t like it I completely agree and I think Pro if you talk to pro golfers so you obviously have the four majors then you have the PLAYERS Championship I mean they’re the ones essentially putting it on and then you have the memorial I think the issue you’re going to have and I was talking with uh uh to a buddy about this who’s a pro up at Scarlet I think the issue you’re G to have with the memorial is when Jack’s not here anymore and if they keep the Memorial tournament the week before the US Open it’s not going to be as as held in such high esteem anymore and I I know I know maybe that’s going to hurt some people’s feelings to hear it the golf course is great uh PE the the tour players whether they love him or hate him respect the hell out of Jack Nicholas and they show up to play it but when Jack’s not here anymore and if they keep this tournament in this this slot before the US Open players are going to bypass this tournament so they can prepare for the US Open and you made one point earlier too that I wanted to touch on so I would say we talk about how they made changes to 16 as somebody’s played the course a couple times I’m okay with hard but I am not okay with unfair and with where they they moved the t- boxes to or where they just moved the T boxes from on 16 it was an unfair you couldn’t you couldn’t hold the green the best players in the world couldn’t hold degree so you know I’m okay with difficult that’s why I love the US Open so much but there’s there’s a big line uh between or there there’s a a very thin line between unfair and difficult and I think Jack heard enough complaints and and still made the the hole is still difficult but it’s just not impossible like it used to be by the way I did hear this that Jack pushed the PGA hard this week to move it back to the original weekend so there would be a weekend in between I heard that Jack lobbied and and Jack carries weight so I think you’re going to see it move back and I think that’s why Jack knows he doesn’t he’s not GNA Live Forever The only thing that lives forever is is Twinkie pork rinds and roaches um so so I I think that we are going to see a change next year because I think Sam you’re right uh it’s it’s a good warm-up for the US Open when it is that you know the memorial another tournament than the US Open I I think you’re spot on and I think they’re gonna work on that I I know for a fact I was told that Jack really lobbied hard that we need to move it back well and I know Pinehurst is a little bit different Golf Course than in your traditional Us open location which is where they’re playing next week but I’ll tell you what man I my guess is they they man that’s my Jo sorry tell I’m not even gonna try to do a guden um so with all that rain that we got on Wednesday night that rough is going to be brutal and with the sunshine and the wind that we’re getting right now it’s going to dry the golf course out the greens are going to firm up things are going to get fast and and the one thing I will say about the weather is you could not for the four days Thursday through Sunday have a better forecast than you have right now I mean the wind’s blowing a little bit but it’s not humid Sunshine a little bit of clouds and and you know mid 70s to to low 80s you can’t ask for a better four days well a tournament that is seemingly snake B every year they got the filtration system now underneath the course and they also have oh Dan Sullivan told me this week they have heating coils so like the damn course is heated for the winter and then they have that suction where it rains they want to get it dry as dry as so they did a they spent uh before I think it might have been before Co I get kind of foggy of of your timeline like before because I know couple members and they sent me videos they were sent videos on the progress and he sent me videos of it completely tore up and what they were putting in it was almost like football field like where they it was 2020 or 2021 it was 2021 I believe where they literally after the last group was passing through uh the final pairing on Sunday they were literally tearing in the golf course up directly behind him right behind him and getting started on it so that was pretty crazy did you know I can play the mirfield once a year and I know members but I can play in the media media they allow the media to play once I could I tore my labrum and rotator cuff off the bone and I don’t know if I can swing I rehabbed it but I don’t know if I could swing a golf club and when I did swing a golf club the guy at Titus said I had the second worst swing he has ever seen that’s that’s probably saying something but I’ve never taken a lesson Jared our our man from Amsterdam can actually take instruction coming up big with the 10 on a Friday Jared appreciate it man Sam you’re better than that you know you’re uh you are letting on Kelly was way hotter than Jesse I’m not mad I’m just disappointed torque Tor it was the valley Bulldogs the Bayside Tigers defeated by the way Jared we interviewed Tiffany amberes like a month ago and she was digging me like I told her I had like a big crush on her and it was kind of we were kind of vibing I think she Googled like pictures and I’ve trained the internet to put good pictures of me and I just think she was digging on me team Jessie all day every day you can be mad at me all you want I’m team Jesse well cause Jesse was easy you could tell Slater like banged her at before the dance well I mean Tiffany Kelly Kapowski was pure as snow how tall is Mario Lopez he’s not a big guy right no I don’t think so do you do you remember the show um [ __ ] Franklin and Bash yes did you ever watch that show I think it was on TNT Breen Meyer and Mark Paul gosler Franklin Franklin and Bash was a great TV show and canel it they were attorneys right correct yeah great show did not watch it how many seasons maybe like three or four okay it was a good show and then they canceled it out of nowhere I was disappointed uh let’s hit this real quick let’s just rip the bandaid off Pascal Vincent was that game four of the Cleveland monsters playoff series against I believe they’re playing Hershey uh and you you he is sticking around he’s gonna be around this year well doesn’t it tell you if their coaches scouting the players and up there that they are going to keep the coach right um I’ve decided if they keep him I’m not going to spend a penny at a blue jacket game and I’m gonna urge you not to as well I I would say that uh W’s gonna have him on a very very short leash this year you know one well he’s gonna anything W wants done as far as Player Development he’s going to tell Vincent to do well Player Development is a is a kind of a a guy who doesn’t know what he’s doing in Rick Nash you gonna fire him too I don’t think he I I I have a feeling that when they hired Don weidell that they told him we have gone through so many coaches that the word is out and people don’t want the job because they think we’re just you’re hired to get fired Brad Larson two years Pascal Vincent if they fired him in a year uh that’s that’s the stupidity of the Blue Jackets though that’s not it’s because they kept hiring the wrong guy yeah you know they could have had I think I think the league is smart enough to realize that or at least I hope they are if they just bring in wadell and then no one else what does that say about this team that they’re just they think yarmo was the problem to me that’s I think they’re gonna I mean I think they’re gonna make some moves I read that um teams are basically being made aware that Elvis m linin is is open for business or on the on the Block which should be a shock to absolutely nobody everybody’s on the Block in the NHL though the goalies this year yeah there’s a ton of goalies on the free agency market so you know who who knows might the Blue Jackets if they do get rid of Elvis are going to have to eat a lot of the celery yeah I I don’t think getting rid of Elvis is good enough you’ve seen yeah you know what boy Ezekiel Elliott had you three games that were just better than anybody I think in Buckeye football history right people are saying Maurice Claret and as good as he was I just think you got to see Eddie George I mean the power of Eddie George and Zeke had the power too and the speed a Heisman winner he was just a machine I’m shocked that I think Eddie George was what the 14th overall pick when he was drafted and I’m shocked it took him that long to uh get drafted but I mean I’m I’m just gonna go with Eddie George he was fantastic how many years was Eddie at a high State four yeah uh three started okay so three so how do I want answer yeah no four years I’m sorry four years okay so I feel like the answer should be Archie Griffin he’s the only guy to ever win two n or two Heisman Trophies ever right yes but I didn’t see Archie play hard for I’m getting there so I feel like that’s kind of like the generic default answer but I think if you’re going to stack I think people are selling Zeke short for a couple of reasons more yards from scrimmage in three years versus four years um one less touchdown and Eddie averaged 5.5 yards per carry you want take a guess at how many Zeke averaged per carry I don’t know tell me 6.7 dude that’s a stud and and I this is the the biggest point that I want to hit home with zek obviously I’ve seen him more recently I was 10 or 11 I think when Eddie was totting the rock with the highest state I was at the Notre Dame game in 95 I think the thing I love about Zeke is he was a complete player he was a great Runner of the football he could catch and run out of the back field and best of all I’ve never seen a running back block blow guys up like Zeke Elliott did he was he was a complete running back he was the one of the better if not the best allaround running back I’ve ever seen I’m going with Zeke for that just stats Alone um he has has more stats than than Eddie I obviously Eddie had the Heisman but Zeke Elliott was a complete running back and that’s that’s who I’m absolutely going with was it the play against Virginia Tech where Braxton Miller did the spinner Ro where Zeke Elliott absolutely Florida guy to kind of spring that or help that along was that the play I’m thinking of where Zeke Elliott just Florida dude and kind of open that up for br Miller then to do the spinner Rooney against the defensive player and then take it to the house give me one sec I’ll tell you I I think it was yeah he was um the guy would absolutely blow guys up like I’ve never seen a running back just light guys up more than than Zeke did Well here here’s the thing about Zeke too that people don’t remember of that Championship season so 2015 so yeah that was that had to be Zeke the thing with Zeke was and this that team is they would try at times instead of running to set up the pass they would start games by throwing the rock all over the place and then you would watch the game going what the bleep is going on right now and as soon as the Buckeye started giving the ball to Zeke then the passing game opened up big time that Buckeye team was a let’s run Zeke Elliott and once Zeke gets established then we could start passing the football many times they started passing the football and they were like well how come the offense isn’t working well the offense isn’t working because your best player wasn’t getting the ball and when they figur that out they were fantastic you you were right I just watched the play I’m watching it over and over Zeke smoked two guys on that play he hit a guy at the line of scrimmage kind of busted it out got in front and then absolutely smoked another guy to to help bust that play I think Zeke would have lasted longer and I know he’s with Dallas but he’s in a fourman rotation and they’ll figure it out at some point I don’t know I think Dr dittle is their leading running back or do witty or something like that um if Zach just kind of know how he kind of get a little flabby in the gut the last couple years if Zeke I and I don’t know his work a ethic maybe his body is just his body but I think if Zeke just from what I hear put in more time I think Zeke could have been good I mean I think he’s a three-time pro bowler I mean Zeke would had a really good and I’m talking like it’s over and it’s not but Zeke had a really good NFL career now he’s not a Hall of Famer he’s only got 9,000 yards and he you know but right out of the gate 1600 900 And1 games 1400 1300 and then he started to drop off I think if he worked his ass off kind of like Adrien Peterson if you know like Adrien Peterson’s background Adrien Peterson like tore his ACL the last game of the season and MCL I believe and then came back starting week one and I think that was the year he was MVP and was just super crazy well he’s just a freak you can’t they don’t make him like like Adrian Peterson but Adrian Peterson was a lot of work he just worked his ass now bad service people right so we had like bottle service and I’m talking to the guy and I go yeah like what how many NFL guys just you know BS and like you I bet you’ve had a lot of NFL guys and he goes oh yeah everybody’s been here tells me about Ray Lewis and then he says you know who the biggest jerk was is Jamal Anderson came in with a bunch of guys and Jamal Anderson thought he could be and I’ve told the story on 97.1 The Fan com Manor Jamal Anderson thought that because he was a NFL player that he should have his liquor comped right and he started kind of arguing with the manager so finally they comped his his drinks right and they the manager kind of told him as long as you take care of the staff I’ll comp your bottles right Jamal Anderson gets bombed starts puking in the bathroom stall everywhere and leaves a $3 28 cent tip for the service drinks free booze high-end booze Christal Dom bottles Galore pukes in their bathroom and then leaves a $328 tip Jamal Anderson doing the Dirty Bird cheap what was the uh who was the running back that was the running back for um for Baltimore and then he was running back for Cleveland for a little bit oh uh Richardson no fourth overall pick the Browns traded him yeah to that’s not him it’ll come to me in a minute I thought that’s you were talking about for a while then I I remember the Dirty Bird oh so what do you so he played for the Colts and then went to the brown J Adams is that his name no no no the guy that played for the rapes it doesn’t matter stupid it’s Friday man I’m I’m are you drinking you’re not drinking I’m drinking speaking of running back Lewis he played he was also a running back for the Browns for a few couple years yeah uh Ravens and then the Browns yep you know he owned do you know that I I I don’t think he Cobalt Lounge was that in Florida by the way no no that was in Atlanta oh okay um do you uh remember or see I think it’s still here I think it might be on 70 the water slide hotel where the water slide is sticking out of the hotel yeah um [ __ ] he was one of the owners of that another guy don’t follow Jamal Lewis’s investment plans yeah what is a it was Dakota something for a while it’s been a myriad of things and then it got closed down because it was they were leaking chlorine across the rest of the hotel making people sick little things right yes uh speaking of running backs from the uh AFC North uh the Bengals are having their Ring of Honor uh inductions here coming up this year uh Chad Johnson and Boomer asias are both being added Joe Mixon has voiced his thoughts and desires to want to be in said Ring of Honor so my question to you was was he good enough to Warrant such consideration you know and there’s not a lot of guys in the Bengals Ring of Honor you know I printed you the list and was like yeah not too and let’s be honest up until recently you had Anthony Munos in the Hall of Fame so when you think of the Bengals you don’t think like great history of individual players now granted I mean they’ve gone to some Super Bowls but I I mean Joe Mixon three four, yard seasons I don’t know seven years in Cincinnati um I just no I don’t even think he’s close I think he’s the third leading rusher in Bengals history I don’t dude I don’t even think Joe Mixon sniffs Cory Dylan’s number one with 8,000 right yeah he’s like 1600 yards behind Cory Dylan so so the the two two rushers ahead of him neither of which are in the the Browns or the Bengals Ring of Honor yes James Brooks who was good in the 80s I think James Brooks was the start starting running back in the Boomer Cent Super Bowl team I could be wrong but you know the one that lost to the 49ers I think John Taylor scored a last second touchdown and they lost 21 to 16 I think James Brooks number 21 that was a long time ago I was just a little kid but I remember watching the game I think James Brooks was the running back at the time Cory Dylan was a hell of a running back now is 8,000 yard to me if you’re doing a Ring of Honor for a team Sam right I think you gotta be over 10,000 yards to get in a Ring of Honor you could be maybe 8,000 maybe Corey Dylan gets in I don’t know what the relationship with Corey Dylan and the Bengals are as long as Mike Brown is alive I think he might carry grudges I’m not sure but if anybody Cory Dylan at E I just don’t think Joe Mixon is a Ring of Honor guy especially to a team that’s very selective on who goes now is it because they were bad probably but I think I think Boomer asias and oo Cino oo crapo Chad Johnson AKA don’t leave a condom on your passenger side floor and let your wife see it um but he did raise Chris Henry’s kid so that’s a good point and he’s a hell of a Tipper so I guess with every bad there’s good just don’t marry him uh he he he defies like what what the human body can do as far as being able to eat McDonald’s every day and not get fat he eats McDonald’s every day yeah that was his thing he would eat McDonald’s every day even when he was playing really yeah OJ Jo Seno oh God I would love that so am I the only one that has not forgotten that Joe his his domestic issues oh when he punched the girl in college like do you really want a guy like that in your Ring of Honor regardless of what he did on the field I don’t I mean you picked him don’t get me wrong but like I I don’t even think he’s worthy to be honest with you I don’t even know why he would say that yeah I mean I would say I if if the guy the two guys in front of you aren’t in the Ring of Honor yet and they’re not really even talks of being considered then maybe you should just wait a little bit but I’m kind of with you it’s like yeah he was a productive player but I mean good doesn’t mean a Ring of Honor and more to be immortalized in a franchis stadium that just doesn’t make any sense to me yeah uh real quick before what’s on X we take a break Sam what do you think of the rumors of Dan Hurley and the LA Lakers I don’t think that’s going to be a really good fix or a really good mix for either the Lakers nor Dan Hurley so you know I think as long as I think as long as LeBron James is with the Lakers that Hurley May Dan Hurley may want to consider reconsider going to that particular franchise in the ba you know the thing is is yeah go ahead I’m sorry I I mean it’s just there’s such a discrepancy and difference between college sports and pro sports even though that that Chasm is getting you know narrower and narrower every day but you know I don’t just when you have something that works in college doesn’t necessarily mer work is going to work in the pros and vice versa so you know he he’s a great coach he seems to be a great motivator but the motivation in professional sports is drastically different than that in college you know if if the NBA’s notorious of getting coaches fired look at Donovan Mitchell got JB bicker staff fire JB bicker staff is a good coach um you know players tune coaches out I’ve told the story on the on this podcast about Lawrence Franks and Jason kid who’s by the way the coach of the Mavericks right now um I’ve told you that story where they called a time outo was directly behind the Nets bench during a playoff game Lawrence Franks calls a timeout and he knows that plays available he says hey this is available Jason you take the ball out dribble it up Court you do a pick do we’re gonna swing it around give it to so and so and he’s gonna make the basket so they come out of the timeout and Jason can takes the ball and launches up a three and Lawrence Frank loses his mind and he’s losing his mind for like several back and forth some series of playing where Lawrence Frank is swearing like why am I even doing this why does it and Lawrence Franks was a pretty successful coach I think he got to a team to the NBA finals but Sam teams turn guys out now when it comes to X’s and O’s I think we can agree when it comes to Pure coaching Dan Hurley is a good coach his dad was a coach his brother’s a coach at Arizona State I think the pedigree of him being a coach is the question is though can Dan will these players buy into what Dan Hurley saying will LeBron James buy into what a coaches was you know the Jive he’s given him or will LeBron just phase him out and do his own thing because if if players pay attention to certain guys and buy into certain guys like Eric spoler in Miami who constantly does more with less and they see results and if you don’t buy in like Butler this year they’ll get rid of you I think Butler’s goingon to be traded this year because he’s not buying in so I think if you buy into a coach Like Pat Riley could do with teams Phil Jackson could do with teams if you Buy in I think Dan Hurley’s going to be successful Dan Hurley in fact could be a guy Sam where once LeBron leaves he could stay with the Lakers to be a generational coach because he’s really one of the best exes and old guys look what he does at Yukon does Yukon get the five stars or the lead some but Yukon guys aren’t like the first pick of every NBA draft in Dan Hurley but they win as a team so if if they buy in I think it’s a great hire if you’re Dan Hurley you look at this and you go let’s see LeBron James is probably going to be there he’s in his career had nine different coaches eight of which have gotten fired yeah it’s the numbers don’t really add up for me here yeah I would imagine he’s got to really take that into consideration but also too you know if you’re if you’re going to the Lakers you’re going to get big term and big money that you can’t get it at Connecticut or at Yukon yeah and you’re probably going to outlast LeBron and if LeBron somehow gets you fired you’re taking all that money with you so unless it’s for cause but Sam if you’re LeBron James you look at the window I got two or three more years Max right one two three more years and if I’m the Lakers and the Lakers say like he is our coach for five years LeBron he’s gonna coach after you he’s not going anywhere does LeBron Buy in LeBron’s Gotta Buy in because he knows this guy’s not going anywhere because they want him here after I leave so either LeBron Buys in or he doesn’t win because Le Sam if LeBron goes out like he is now where they’re in a play in game every damn year what does that do to his legacy I think it’s pretty sad yeah I mean you asked me the question LeBron has to buy in it’s like I would think so but LeBron’s also done a lot of things differently than I would have probably done and he’s LeBron and I’m here with you you supposed to get old seems like Dan Hurley’s a phenomenal basketball mind but being a b a phenomenal basketball mind doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to succeed in the NBA I mean part of the reason Phil Jackson was so good is because he he was able to manage the Personalities in the room he could you’re right half yeah maybe Dan Hurley can I don’t know we just haven’t seen it none of us can say that he he’s gonna be a great NBA coach because we’ve never seen it we haven’t seen it yet so I I don’t know I mean it’s certainly for La would make a splash if they were able to get him away from you what sport would you say managing personalities of the four majors let’s rank them in order one two three and four where do you think managing the egos is the toughest I’ll say NBA managing the EOS is the egos is the toughest job and I don’t even know if it’s close absolutely I completely agree okay second I’m gonna say Maj or I’m gonna say Major League Baseball because I think lose a team I’m goingon to go NFL just because of the Divas you have wide receivers quarter backs position players skill players yeah I think I think that is okay so then I would go baseball Major League Baseball and then the NHL but don’t you think in the NFL they kind of control their room yeah yeah I mean like you largely speaking you don’t see um you know uh one offensive lineman speaking out it’s because the other four are going to smack him in the face or smack them around or something they tend to keep quiet it’s just there’s so many Divas right now now in the NFL in the skill positions and and even quarterbacks that that would be really tough and keep in mind too you’ve got a much bigger room that you have to control God yeah I think NHL I think NHL would be four but NHL is so different now where young players phase coaches out and they get them I would say out you’re talking about like if if we’re talking about like players who can get coaches fired I would say NBA number one NHL too because NHL players damn downright and you saw it with hitch Rick N See say what you want if you’re a jack ofat Rick Nash quit on Ken Hitchcock Chris Clark said it and he wasn’t the only one either no he wasn’t they all like three Derek brard was one quit on multiple coaches with the Blue Jackets who was the third oh Ryan Johansson I could tell you this about Derek brassard and I did the coaches show for all of Derek brassard’s coaches now I don’t know Derek brassard I heard he matured every damn coach with Derek brassard at the Blue Jackets did not like Derek brassard did not like the E effort did not look well look at the krenzel story with the Bengals that krenzel talked about krenzel got hurt as last year with the Bengals and you have to pay I think it was like an injury release thing and they didn’t pay him his salary so he The Players Association took the Bengals to court and they had like an arbitration date or a court date and the day before the court date the Bengals paid krenzel you know why the Bengals did that because they collected interest on the few hundred th000 they owed krenzel so to them the $300 they collected in interest was more important than just paying their damn player another notoriously cheap franchise then I think they’re getting better with Duke to well they’re still cheap they’re just better with it now all right we got to go quick here because I know
