[Music] big Drive energy Winner Circle Monday we’re back after a intense weekend in professional golf but also quite the weekend in the golf world at dmvr as well we had our tournament on Friday Cinco to drinko cinko no scram scramble to drinko when we were when we were workshopping this like two years ago when we had we started it it was Cinco Deo obviously we it was either scramble or scramble day mayo or Cinco to scramble scramble to Mayo I think is the way to go yeah and the best part is is you know this year is on May 3rd obviously not Cinco to Mayo but scramble to Mayo is this the scramble of May we’re just gonna we can do it in the 27th we could do it in April yeah that no kind of missing the point we just have the first Friday in May so it’s absolute perfection every time yeah 100% um are we just rolling right into we not doing an intro yeah let’s well today we’re going to talk about Taylor pendrith when winning his first ever PGA Tour event the Canadian broke through intense finish great finish talk about that is Ken State the Shockers Kent State is the no that’s witchs State yeah okay Kent State is the like a bird it’s like a falcon yeah it’s some sort of bird anyway Taylor pendrith went to Kent State we’ll get into it then Taylor pendrith Julian Edelman I just in real time got a hang nail that’s that’s got to be a [ __ ] bad Monday Omen um and we’re going to talk about Brooks kka winning lives Singapore rounding into form right before the PGA Championship couple weeks from now uh also Chris Kim in we had two weeks ago we had a 15-year-old making this cut on a corn fairy Tour event now Chris Kim just has to go and one up him like my friend Graham from college everything you say he’s got to do one better and this kid makes the cut at a PGA Tour event at the CJ cup Byron Nelson which the name not I hate it yeah we but we’ll get into it we’ll get into that all right let’s teed up let’s start this off with Marissa you locked in over there you got your mic on all right I want I want performance reviews from both of you from the scrambles of myio because I did not play you played you played you were drinking a lot which was cool it was on the sauce I got a picture that whole group was we definitely crossed path a few times and I was concerned for their wellbeing I got a picture of her on the my wife holding a club head of hers and her on the ground I broke a club you broke a club yeah but not on purp in the field of play though so she could replace oh okay so we’re getting technical with the rules here I hate I hit a great shot and it didn’t fall off and then I sat there and looked at the club and it just fell over really that’s weird yeah so give us a grade on the state of your golf game I actually did really good did you I I had the why is it making noise hold on um I’ve had the like I think the best like longest hit and then everybody else was better at the the shorter game okay so yeah you’re good with the driver yeah it was me and Lexi I think that carried that part of it and then allly and although allly and Kylie had some good ones too I think we were all pretty even do you know what you call that in golf is it’s called Hamond egging it oh okay where if one of you does something very well the other one does something well and you all kind of comb to do well together but one person isn’t carrying it yeah so there’s a new golf tour for you we really ham and egged it out there okay there you go were you the ham or the Egg I don’t know there’s no Spencer just being a dip [ __ ] I have to give a shout out to Lexi though because she killed it she’s good shout out Lexi she’s hasn’t she golfed like didn’t she play high school golf yeah her dad is like really into it too so hell yeah love that um so you’re getting more into golf I would give you on the tournament you’re talking just in general like the smoothness No No I want to report from you playing oh give [ __ ] about how shitty it was ran I only it it was very well ran like felt very smooth um maybe because I was at a limited like I helped out a little bit in the morning no that I I did a little bit um [ __ ] you um and then I went out and played but I I mostly only hit like I hit probably shots on a third of the holes okay so I hit some good ones hit some bad ones uh but everybody was just out there to have a good time I saw I saw a few one-and finishes from you Mitch signature and I also saw you Fisher the [ __ ] out someone which was on the par three shout out to Red Haw Roofing uh they came out they understand the game yeah of the Scramble game I should say of hosting a tournament and being a whole sponsor cuz they just go into the the bar and buy the liquor there because for those of you guys that don’t know when you run a golf tournament a lot of courses especially city-owned ones you can’t just have a sponsor bring out liquor there’s red tape there’s contracts there’s so many different Hoops to have to go through in order to be able to quote unquote give away free liquor even if you you’re the company that makes the liquor well tough if you think about it like in general if you would never walk into a restaurant with your own liquor and that’s basically what a golf course is they have a liquor license you know they they have that stuff on site so the fact that people just think a golf course is completely different and they couldn’t lose their liquor license or you know if they had underage underage kids out there drinking their own liquor so it’s just like a logical thing but a lot of people think that rules just don’t apply on a golf course and that’s kind of across the board that’s not even liquor that’s just everything uh but yeah I mean Red Hawk bought all their shots from the bar and then they were just giving them out on the golf course and like I guarantee you they’re getting business for giving away liquor because that’s that there’s nothing better to give away on a golf course yeah I think they said they had signed up like 20 people for uh Roofing inspection so that’s that’s huge that’s how you do it yeah that’s marketing 101 um I did see you yeah you fured someone so tell me what that means so fishering someone is shout out to Sean fiser one of our old head pro bosses coworkers now buddy now buddy that we get to play golf with a ton in a scramble format this man always wants to take his shot no matter what oh and actually now I’m kind of re I’m kind of backing up on the fishering someone because this may have not been your shot it may have been Riders but on the part three that was driver only the whole way we took Rider shot yeah you picked a bad second shot though no we didn’t there was one that was in the Fairway short of the green where you could have just bunted it up the hill we had it up we had it straight up the hill in the you were in the we were in The Fringe we were in The Fringe oh you just all that bad with a driver from 160 I was actually pin high like 10 yards right of the hole I just tried to hit like a flop shot with the driver and there’s wind off the left it ended up fading too much and we were just so short-sided at that point that we had no other choice we could have taken that one on The Fringe but I will say city park did as dirty with some of those pins they were tough the pins were tough like I thought they were getting ready for the US Open out there but uh my girlfriend was there she hit some really good shots hit a couple of bomb drives Logan our good buddy his fiance Jenna she played she made like 3 30f Footers that’s it was wild you just don’t really see that she was dialed in like the speed was always a little bit firm but it was just straight in the back and so he actually shot I think on the back nine me somewhat participating there was four total players participating on each hole like there somebody was always sitting out um but I think we shot 59 and that was that was with buying a zero on a part three so total without the zero we would have shot six we would have shot like nine under pretty [ __ ] good yeah I really didn’t hit very many shots Ryder hit some good shots Logan had some good shots but Jenna and Missy both like held their own so it was pretty impressive and just overall a great day I mean you know we say it every year but if you’re missing out on The Scrambled to Mayo you’re crazy it fills up every year there’s always great prizes we come back to the bar afterwards get a little lit it’s a great time yeah it was a great time that reminds me I kind of celeb shot at a few times ironically both on whole nine one t- shot where I absolutely pissed on it ended up in the water I didn’t think I needed to go that much further right but apparently I do and then I cele putted for the girls on nine as well and you made it on the fourth time yes so he screwed us well no I made it it counted as a birdie putt but from the thing is is I said I said if I make this one you guys have to jump in the water you guys have to jump in the water and what I meant was the first putt like I thought I was going to putt once miss it whatever like I normally do jump in the water no I SLI tried to and almost mud like almost got like Quicks sanded into the [ __ ] Lake I didn’t jump I was running and then allly like stopped and I like hit the mud yeah and I just went in yeah I I didn’t know I was like it was a joke but it was it was cool to hit one putt horrible then the second one decent third one even shorter for some reason than the fourth one just trickled in in the last roll so I felt pretty good about that real quick I just want to give an announcement uh this is a national epidemic happening I’m talking to you everybody out there if you cheated a scramble you are the scum of the earth you’re the lowest of the low you have nothing to gain from winning a local scramble so stop cheating please and I’m not necessarily saying anybody cheated here but when you we’ve seen videos on the internet you deal with it at every scramble you have four middle-aged dudes that you just know are not great golfers and they somehow shoot for in the 40s and you’re like how did this happen so if you’re going to do that take it somewhere else that shit’s so annoying but it happens everywhere and I feel like there’s no good way to fix it because inevitably people would rather cheat and win than not cheat and not win so that just bugs the [ __ ] out of me if you turn in a scorecard like I don’t know how you sleep at night with that [ __ ] writing down all these circles on a scorecard that just aren’t even real like you’re taking unlimited shots this and that cut the [ __ ] like that’s got to be done with I don’t think there is cheating but I will say on the one where it was driver only I saw a couple people not do driver only I know I mentioned it to a group or two that it was driver only and they said [ __ ] that so at that point stricken from the record your your uh score doesn’t count like you’re just out yeah DQ cheating at in a scramble is pretty low of the low you can’t really call anyone out but at the same time it’s the iyk YK we should have a spotter we should have we should have 18 volunteer or a spotter for each group well no realistically even to make it easier it it a lot of courses won’t allow this but play atom yeah play two group a nightmare two groups in on one hole have half the groups but you know two groups playing it and have them keep each other’s score maybe we try that scramble to myo next year yeah I don’t I doubt that that’s gonna fly to also have to give you guys a shout out um because I played with Ally and Kylie a lot of the stuff that they taught me was from you guys love that yeah they were good teachers learning by osmosis well from us to them to you well they were really I mean they were consistent and they were really good and then in when I wasn’t they would adjust and then I would that’s awesome you love to hear that love that um people who cheat and scrambles need to chill and there is no better way than needing to chill than popping off with a cold Coors Light I have a story that’s this is really sad but I’m going to tell it anyways so I cleaned out my fridge did some man stuff yesterday cleaned out my basement fridge which is I’m a drink Goblin so I my my basement fridge you I mean it’s where you live it’s your area but I keep like cheese in there yeah just one thing of cheese but we’ve got like five different flavors of lacroy we’ve got Mountain Dew this is all diet by the way I’m not trying to Harold I’m just trying to be honest Diet Mountain Dew we’ve got Dr Pepper we’ve got is this in West Virginia all we got Sprite we’ve got um a couple of other beers we got seltzers we got you know Gatorades out the walls whatever but I cleaned out my fridge and and I found a Kors light that had fallen all the way to the back from like I think the expiration date was like March of 23 and I was like damn so I took it out took one little sip Dr it little nip and then I had to pour it pour it out oh was it you should have just chugged it I thought about it but I was trying not light is a sin I know I was trying not to drink yesterday and I succeeded other than my little nip of seven-year-old KS light okay I mean better than nothing if you’re going to drink anything it should be light 100% their favorite Live Tour player is if they know what the live tour is who is your favorite player on the Liv tour Bryson brys Shambo all right we got a live boy a live tour I don’t know mini is mooy on the live tour not yet not yet he’s trying to get that 800 million Brook Capa for sure I going say Brookie Dustin Johnson Brookie I’m going to go with uh cam Smith walking nean or Cam Smith so we got a a variety of favorites the one guy that said Bryson ended up saying it was because so many people hated him that he likes him I respect that do you like who can you think of athlete that you’ve liked that a lot of people hate but you you liked him for that reason not just because he was on our one of our teams that we like honestly like I went through a phase where I got into golf just after tigers real peak happened so I was a big proponent of the non- tiger guys because tiger got all the love so I have to admit there was a time that I didn’t like tiger just because everybody loved him so much but then when all the [ __ ] went down he had all the issues it actually made me like him more because everybody else liked him less so I definitely go with that like I am such a non bandwagon type of dude that if if too many people publicly like a certain guy um then I am G to go in the I’m like the opposite guy you you’re very good at that also you’re very contrarian um but I like to generally root for the underdog uh except for everybody on the PJ tour this year because everybody’s an underdog and nobody knows who the [ __ ] playing in any event uh but yeah there I definitely went through a phase like with tiger I’m going through right now Scotty like he’s got to do something that to make other people hate him in order for me to like him which I don’t think he’s going to do he seems too squeaky clean uh we can always you know hold on to this video five years down the road see what he’s done but uh yeah I definitely don’t like guys that are un Al loved by everybody else so I go through that in general Nicole yic is obviously different because he’s universally liked throughout the NBA community and that’s pretty wild you don’t really get many fan many players that everybody love everybody loves and uh but he’s one of my favorite basketball players of all time if not my favorite uh but I was an OG you know like I’m a nuggets fan I’m not just a Nicole yic fan um but have you gone through any of the the hatred the love relationship with golfers golfers to me you know I I don’t like I don’t have like that favorite anymore I don’t either I it was C Smith and he’s still my favorite player yeah but he’s not we don’t get to see him as much and he doesn’t get to compete against the best players on the PGA tour but that would be my guy that I would root for every come the PJ Championship I’ll be rooting for cam Smith yeah exactly and when you know betting and betting in golf is it’s the opportunity have a lot of new favorites like OA btia one W us a 40 to1 earlier one of my favorite players to watch now but I think for me it’s it’s always tough when somebody’s like who’s your favorite golfer because I’ve never really I had I had tiger Tiger’s one that got me into golf like most people our age uh I would say sporting wise though I loved LeBron I’ve hated and loved LeBron James MTI multiple times I ultimately hate him I loved him when he went to the Cavs when he went back to the Cavs when he went back to the Cavs was basically a oneman show with four other players Irving well relatively no maybe the first time he the I’m talking when he won the finals to the Cavaliers when he won the finals against Golden State with no one on the team he Kyrie on the team are you sure about that yes okay well he basically carried a team maybe he carried a team to the finals Kyrie hit like the game-winning shot to seal the the title for them that year oh maybe I can’t believe you don’t remember that but basically by the sounds of it we’re both like that Rob low wearing an NFL hat like we’re just rooting for golf we just root for good golf we don’t necessarily root for any individual players other than who we’re betting on that week but overall yes I would say I’m just a fan of good golf other than when it’s done by somebody that has the personality of a wet paper towel like Scotty sheffler but like when John ROM was hot I enjoyed that I had no problem with that when other guys get hot Dustin Johnson went on his major run I enjoyed that there’s a lot of guys throughout this this uh you know this game that I think are worthy of of liking and Scotty is worthy of liking I just choose not to like him so it’s just you appreciate golf is just the epitome of appreciating greatness because when these guys go on these runs and that is the ultimate uh test against Tiger’s career is all these dudes go on two or three year runs and then they don’t necessarily fall off the face of the Earth but they go back to being an above average professional golfer but the true test is obviously tiger spending you know 12 years however many at world number one and just dominating year in you’re out for that sustained period of time so it’s just ultimately for me about appreciating the game um and by the way we shout out cam Smith shout out to rippers they got the team dub yeah team dub uh clip for this team win nobody celebrates like Ripper GC U Marissa you want to roll that one real quick she’s hunting down the clips hunting Clips it’s still lame that like the team thing still doesn’t get me but this this is pretty legit to see this at [Applause] [Music] theend hey oh sh shy they all what a Australians keeping the shoes going that video almost makes me want to go to Australia and just hang out with the the mates have a have a pint with the mates have a p have a have a CR have a crack have you ever heard of that word I think it’s in English slash I don’t know if Australians use it like having a crack that’s like when you’re going out to the bar and you’re having a good time like we had a crack of a night oh okay yeah like I would love to go to the bar with Cam Smith um by the way quick side note on the the Liv tour stuff we saw that there’s reports coming out that each live team they’re continuing to purchase golf courses and they’re making them home courses for these live teams now I personally I heard that and I was like that is genius I didn’t even consider that but then I was talking to John risken our sales guy and he was like that is a huge way for that the teams themselves to gain equity and to make money by making money on tickets that they sell when they own the golf tournament they own you know I don’t know they they get some percentage from the live tour but they could sell tickets they’d make money off the concessions they’d make money off the merch like that is an ingenious way and it’s when you think about it any other Prof professional sports team has its own stadium has its own you know home they have a practice facility they have their own stadium you know if you’re in a major for sport um so I think it’s Genius Like I saw that and I was like I love this concept yeah and it’s super feasible because like cam Smith the Ripper GC Australia find a course there’s a couple of yeah there’s a couple of teams that I would think that would be a little tougher to do when you got some Americans you got some you know I guess the captain kind of decides but you don’t even necessarily to live there it’s just more like a a home fac it’s like when a a an NFL player lives in say Miami but plays in Ohio like you you can still travel back and forth and especially with the live tours like schedule you have plenty of time to go back home like you don’t necessarily need to live near your home course but yes I see what you’re saying it it makes a lot of sense for like the South African team with Charles schwarzel and uh Paul Casey’s English never mind I don’t even think I don’t even know if he’s on the same team but there’s a group of South Africans they could play in South Africa and the cool thing too is you could host home events like this team is hosting this event this week that makes the team concept seem a little bit more legitimate to me if that makes any sense yeah it makes it feel like another sport where you’re playing every week on somebody else’s quote unquote Turf and you have your own home turf and how cool would it be if they built their own golf courses and like the team got to design it like John mentioned this I didn’t even think about it like if the team got to design their own golf course so it set up well for their games that where they felt like they had a leg up like oh the you know the Rippers are really tough to play Down in Australia because they’re dialed in and no you know nobody else has plays on this kind of turf or whatever so I just I genuinely do enjoy that concept and if Liv is like going to stick around for a long time they need to think outside of the box with stuff like this and I think this is a great first step yeah absolutely so one thing we’ll show here quick from Liv is an embarrassing moment before we get to Brooks kepka winning it but yeah we were just we were just giving Liv their flowers now we got to drag them a little bit now we’re gonna call them out a little bit but they uh the other one they no bendy CO’s here we go so this chick did a little Twitter advance search digging and basically she found that I’ll quote her tweet Liv golf just straight up showing tweets that never actually got tweeted they’ve they love to all they even have they even have to fake engagement for this golf tournament my eyes are not as good as they were apparently but basically yeah they they showed tweets up on the screen I remember one time my tweet was showed on the Rockies game at like when I was like 178 and I a bunch of people well a bunch of people like texted me and I felt really cool about it but they’re showing a bunch of quote unquote fake tweets that aren’t even actually real just to kind of Engagement Farm I didn’t do any digging myself but there was a couple replies to that girl that were like I’ve tweeted this and here this is what they showed so okay so it’s not completely like all of that’s engagement farming and fake but it would be pretty wild to like how many Bots there are yeah and well and that if that guy is not like he’s just a random dude and they just found him we just found Greg Norman’s burner yeah we just all Greg Norman’s random burners with like seven followers he just has a team of people just with Burner set up firing off I will say this is somewhat hurtful because I’ve legit tweeted at live a few times just to try to get my [ __ ] on the broadcast and I was not shown so apparently they will show Bots but they won’t show little old me on the the live broadcast but yes it is kind of funny um it here’s another question I’m not super Savvy with Twitter is his account public like did the account the account just not exist cuz she specifically like even if she had like an apostrophe out of place couldn’t it have been cuz she legit Google or just search those exact words so who knows if she copied and pasted or what but maybe it actually did exist and she was engagement farming SpinZone me again here I am what if she was engagement farming on the engagement farming that Liv was doing that very well could have been the case and she was pretending like he wasn’t real and that motherfucker’s not real and he was and there there she’s looking for some live clout because she knows there’s so many anti- live people out there that people aren’t even going to do the research on her research now I feel like I need to do a in it on Wednesday just do like a random if I don’t know how you can find the tweets that were shown on the broadcast but do just like 10 random TW find 10 random tweets and actually just go to their profiles and see if you can find them okay I’ll do I’ll do some digging for that uh let’s talk about Brooks though what does this win mean does it change your opinion of him he’s defending his championship of course PJ Championship like when they say Defending Your Championship I don’t I don’t necessarily relate that to Majors other than the masters of course which no one defends that but do you see what I’m saying like it’s a completely different setup completely different Golf Course to me yes they he’s defending the PGA Championship that he won in 2023 but it’s such a different golf course that may not suit his game at all I mean valhall is it hasn’t been played in 10 years Rory won in 2014 which is his last major ironically I remember watching that tournament like it was yesterday somehow so weird does it change your feeling on Brooks keco wherever that was him winning this tournament because he went into the Masters not playing good he was like embarrassingly bad on Liv and played poorly and played poorly in the Masters so does this change like he’s he just won he’s feeling good he’s got two weeks off now yeah like the PGA tour players are going to play Wells Fargo at Quail Hollow next week yeah they’re and then going right into the PGA Championship like th this is setting up for him to defend his title if possible yeah no absolutely I mean I definitely feel better about betting on him at the PJ Championship after this win because he’s a he’s a major player anyway he always gets up for relatively speaking so the fact that he has some sort of form going into this event makes me feel like he’s definitely going to be like a top five lock but I also wish you know it’s a it’s two sides of a coin because his odds are now going to drop it’s going to be tougher to get him you know on the leaderboard he’s going to be Pride plus do you see uh let’s see if there is oh you’re pulling up 2014 uh do we have odds out yet for the PJ Championship because I’m just curious as to where his odds moved I would assume they definitely made a jump uh I’ve gotten an arguments on Tik Tok with dudes telling me how they create odds I know how odds are created okay you don’t need to mansplain betting to me I’ve been doing it for a decade plus I know what the [ __ ] I’m doing okay so don’t tell me it’s not this it’s not that some of it’s based on their could you be any stupider like this is holy [ __ ] man this is mindboggling like you have dudes that are trying to prep for a major a lot of times they’ll take the week off unless they’re not in the major already and you have them going out and competing in a signature event the week before a major like yeah this should be a almost pseudo opposite field type of event be last week’s event this week where somebody could like Taylor pendrith win and then get into the major the following week and and just have that excitement for that reason but uh real quick the leaderboard from 2014 of Valla Rory Phil Henrik Stenson Ricky Fowler Jim fck won’t be playing in this um scrolling down a few Steve Stricker was up there Brant snedaker uh Charles schwarzel and Brooks kka both finished at nine under Lee Westwood nine under Lou usas in nine under SC uh Adam yeah I was just going with some live boys but like basically their history here looking at that leaderboard how how the game is Fallen week for PG J tour players uh but shout out to Taylor pendrith and before we get into his kind of comeback win which was insane on the 72nd hole want to shout out Chris Kim 16 years old Englishman Englishman whatever I know that’s like calling moraa being American yeah scenario yeah I mean he hails from England yeah his mom former lpj Tour player only lasted one year on tour he got a wonder how tough was it to play on the LPG tour 26 series ago okay does does her being on the LPGA Tour even for a year disqualify your impressiveness with Chris Kim um no I like you no you look at you think that he’s good because of his mom well she’s a swing coach okay I mean I respect that how many dudes moms have their mom as a swing coach I’m not saying I’m not completely discrediting the fact a 16-year-old was the youngest kid I don’t get what your angle is here I’m just basically saying I’m not I was a little less impressed when I was like oh [ __ ] Chris Kim 16 years old on the tour oh his mom played on the LPGA Tour her shocker but a year in 98 yeah but his mom is an anuka sorn stamp yes but like Ana’s kid can hardly break 90 but my point is is the fact that the access he probably had starting at the youngest age his mom on years removed from the LPG tour when she had him he was Bor he didn’t even go through the [ __ ] financi crisis of 0708 he was a thought in his parents heads when they were well I guess he’s from England so he didn’t never mind he didn’t even have to deal with the US housing crisis of 2008 but he was a thought in his parents head when America was burning to the ground 16 17 years ago um but yeah very very impressive uh and he’s had a bless you he’s already had a incredible amateur career over in England he was on the European Rider Junior Rider Cup team last year uh which they won cuz we the US doesn’t ever win any of those uh but he’s already like on The Fast Track and this is interesting I I don’t know what his handicap is but I bet he turns Pro here in the next year or two like this is a very European style you don’t come over to America you don’t go to school to you go to school to what what was the Cardell Jones quote I didn’t come here to play school yes yeah that is what professional golfers in Europe are like they’re like I didn’t come here to play school I’m here to golf like CHL Hatton turned pro at 18 19 a lot of these dudes Shane Lowry um they just turn pro at a young age and then they’re already a four-year vet you know as long as you have status you’re a fouryear vet on tour and you’re 22 years old like you’re you’re reaching your physical prime um so we’ll definitely see this dude turning pro at some point I was trying to find how he got this exemption I would assume it’s from winning he won the British uh junior British Junior I think it was um and like a few other big events over in England he’s won the boys am boys amateur Championship the European boys individual championship and the McGregor Trophy last year just last year yeah so he’s he’s a wagon um I would assume boy is 18 and under like men’s I think is then 18 and over so he’s winning a lot of this Junior stuff over in England but yeah and dude he’s already so I I saw an article he’s already stting to deal with Under Armour like this is what I don’t get and I guess it you do you have to be in school because in golf all these amateurs can they like technically if you have sponsors and you’re getting paid that makes you lose your amateurism correct I don’t think so because they’re getting paid they’re not getting paid for their play they’re getting paid for name image likeness okay but why doesn’t do 40-year-old amateurs playing like like the the alltime [ __ ] great am that’s still playing in the Masters and stuff that’s like in his 30s is he I’m genuinely curious because I don’t know the answer is he able to get paid by sponsors and just not take any of the prize money I would imagine is it is it basic but is it basically just for school kids is nil like set up that is where it’s just I feel like the wild west cuz how do you tell a 35-year-old amateur player that’s not making any money in an event but making money off his image and likeness his name image likeness that he can’t take money from a sponsor but a high school kid is allowed to because they’re still in school I I honest think it’s anybody because it’s changing the game a lot more than I thought that right because if you’re a company let’s say you’re uh odd Bros clothing like we used to have and we have a buddy that that we know is going to be on playing the Masters and being on TV we get our logo to him we pay him he’s you know like it can be anybody it doesn’t matter if they’re not professional or professional at see I feel like we sound like [ __ ] now I because I think it’s not I I don’t think it’s allowed for amateurs well it’s probably just not called n like it’s probably something different but I would imagine any amateur can sign a deal and there’s also did you look at his deal with Under Armour like did you look into it I did not see the dollar amount but I guarantee he’s getting paid well that’s the thing he he maybe isn’t maybe they’re just like hey you know there’s some sort of Futures Contract essentially with him where it’s like hey where are stuff now when you become professional we can pay you x amount of dollars and you get all of our product for free cuz how many you know looking in our business as Sports media business like how many deals are done with just trade you put my name on your [ __ ] you promote your [ __ ] people see my name yeah you know no I I totally get that so I actually just found an article from three years ago so that makes me feel like we should have known this um so either way we sound like idiots uh for the joint USGA and RNA statement as a part of the modernization effort is proposed that the new rules will identify only three acts that will result in a golf for losing their amateur status accepting a prize in excess of a prize limit accepting payment for giving instruction accepting employment as a golf club professional or membership of ass Association of professional golfers to achieve this simplified approach the following key changes are pro are proposed eliminating the distinction between cash prizes and other prizes using the prize limit as the only way an amateur can lose amateur status through their play removing restrictions from the rules surrounding competitions such as long drive events putting and skills competitions that are not played as part of a te tole competition and eliminating all sponsorship restrictions so my thought is like in this ass backwards you know my reverse reverse psychology thought there’s certain dudes that have a higher ceiling as an AM and can qualify for these events only as an amateur if they’re making enough money off sponsorship getting into these big events I’m honestly shocked that there’s not more dudes that are just staying amateur like if you’re a mini tour pro that’s grinding it around making you know 50 60 Grand a year whatever why don’t you just get reinstated back as an AM qualify for these majors and [ __ ] as part of an being an AM and then get big sponsors from that point yeah that’s a good point like I I don’t know why we’ve never talked about this this is wild to me this is blows my mind mindblowing activity on a Monday afternoon well let’s keep it on the rails here and talk about Taylor pendrith because he just earned his first tour win he is the sixth little rapid fire trivia I just said it but six six first time winners on tour this year oh God I I can’t do it how many well I’ll just tell you because it’s not really trivia basically this PGA Tour season Spider-Man meme looking at each other it’s not like you had this giant that’s won a ton on the PGA tour versus a guy that hasn’t yeah Ben Kohl’s ironically enough I looked up some of his stuff he won two corn fairy tour events in 2013 and then won another two corn corn fairy tour events in 2023 so 10 years Gap one twice last year got on the back on the PGA tour yes I I was gonna say real quick he won I remember watching him because he played at University of Virginia and this is when I was really in deep in in the thick of the golf world uh he won his first event when he turned Pro he won the there was a nationwide tour at the time I think it was the Children’s Hospital open uh or Shriners whatever um and he won his first event when he turned Pro and I’m like holy [ __ ] this guy’s going to be a wagon and then he a decade later he’s bounced between the corn fairy tour so I actually have his numbers here real quick um he has uh in his corn fairy tour uh career he’s played 204 events he’s made 123 Cuts he’s got three Runner UPS four wins uh 27 top 10 he’s made 1 Point let’s call 1.8 million uh on the corn fairy tour and then PJ tour he’s only played 68 events so think about that you get you basically he had his tour card year two of being pro so he’s only gotten to play in 68 PJ tour events in a decade um floating around you know between the tours he has 31 Cuts made two top five finishes no wins one runner up that was this week he’s made 2.3 million so he’s made basically $500,000 more playing in a third of the events on the PG tour than he’s played on the cornn fairy tour but I just got to give him a shout because I’ve followed him for a while I’ve always seen him he went back to Q School multiple times like he is just a Grinders type of grinder and that’s what makes the shot that he hit yesterday even like harder to swallow uh because he nobody you know of all the dudes out there that have been at knocking at the doorstep and just haven’t won this is definitely one of those guys so Marissa will you roll that clip for us please yeah this is his shot on 18 this video from nuclear golf through El pre of Dave pory but just going for his first PGA tournament ever needs to get up and down get close absolute choke you just you don’t see choke on a big level like that but this guy Kohl’s he’s the leader that’s the leader on the last hole trying to too long of a back swing if he desell on it but there was just no commitment to that shot he he hated it right when he hit it and I’m I know he’s he’s going to have multiple sleepless nights thinking about that pitch shot 100% because not only was that probably a $900,000 swing pitch shot you know money talks but when you win a PJ Tour event the you have job the yeah you job security the [ __ ] it affords you for the next two years is insane he’d be going to qua Hollow next week he’d be playing in the PGA he’d be playing in you know not saying he’s not but um just the amount of the fact that nobody that’s just golf for you right there nobody had made a bogey on 18 all day super easy hole everybody’s making birdies and then I think the worst part is is the part that makes me feel the worst for him is a he’s never won so like if that would have been Rory let’s take Rory out of it because we kind of like to [ __ ] on him let’s say that’s Shane Lowry okay it would have been like ah you know he choked but he’s gonna be here a long time he’s this he’s a good player he’s he’s gonna compete this you don’t never know what kind of tail spin that can send a guy in and looking at the Silver Lining Taylor p had to just be shocked like he’s sitting there like I he had an eagle putt he’s like I probably have to make this he’s going to get up and down I got to get this stroke back somewhere and then he ends up having a three-footer to win it that’s and and we’ve talked about in match play where you’re never out of a hole yeah one crazy shot or one mistake like that which is it was a big mistake but he still probably should have got up and down for par went into a playoff I would have been curious to see what his mentals like in the playoff oh God after doing something like that even if he would have got down but judging by the fact that he had like a six-footer that wasn’t that tough and couldn’t make it it it probably wouldn’t have went well for him but pendrith think you have don’t you have a little bio on pendrith yeah uh Canadian first of all the thing I love about the Canadians is there’s always another dude there with them the Kenzie Hughes was there to celebrate him his wife was there his kid was there so shout out to Taylor pendrith for basically he’s kind of a dude that is has made his way on tour but this is obvious I mean he’s an older Dude too he’s in his 30s so this is a huge time for him to get his first win he graduated from college 10 years ago so he’s definitely he’s in his early 30s um and he you can just tell he’s a golfer’s golfer uh because I found a little Kent State uh bio on him quote unquote his favorite golfer is Ben Curtis who won like one major was did not have an illustrious career so that’s your first clue he’s a a golfer um favorite TV show morning drive used be a great show but that’s still like if you don’t say ESPN and even now I mean 10 years ago a lot of things looked a lot differently but 10 years ago ESPN was still great if you’re watching morning drive over ESPN there’s a problem um dream forsome a little bit of an indictment he said Bubba Watson not not crazy but at two what is that 2013 probably so he’s like winning Masters like dominating said Bubba Dustin and Gary Dustin Johnson Gary Woodland to see who hits it the longest so he’s always been a long hitter so then I kind of other quick fun fact uh his sister is a golf course super intendant in uh Peterboro ontaria Ontario at kaara Ka Kawartha Kawartha Golf and Country Club so um pretty cool stuff just real quick he’s one of the very he is one of the longest hitters on tour his Strokes gained are actually pretty bad uh Rel relative to off the te relative to alari hits it so I just thought that was interesting but he’s also a top 10 he’s top 10 in driving distance and strokes gain putting on the PJ tour this year pretty wild stats yeah it for to be that high up and like never like usually guys like that are guys that win pretty consistently but it just goes to show you ultimately how far offline he hits it with the driver if he he’s like outside the top 100 stro or he’s like between 90 and 100 Strokes gained off the te and he’s a top 10 long longest hitter on tour so sometimes longest driving isn’t always the best you still got to keep it in play like that’s that’s forgotten a lot of the time oh 1 million per. all right I was walking through I was like oh I’m just going to walk around and go in the elevator and I was like no take the shortcut go in the back of the bar had had to drop something off so I walked through and the [ __ ] top of the dumpster just swipes me oh it like the wind just blew it and it just like buried me and I was like you know it’s just like annoying when you’re just trying to walk and it’s so windy it’s just a Monday you’re just trying to make it through yeah exactly and this [ __ ] stray dumpster just slapped me cuz I was looking at the ground cuz I you know there’s a lot of things going on between those dumpsters where you walk so I wasn’t looking up and then this thing just flopped on a swivel y on a swivel that was a fun way to walk in yeah um I went and stayed the night over at my buddies the night before the golf tournament we had some dinner um his fiance my girlfriend we all had a good time but I fell down his stairs in front of all three of them like it was I so the stair was here my one the first step cuz I wasn’t really looking at the stairs is was approaching I just had one foot like halfway off and then it slid and then my whole [ __ ] body just I like backs slide and did you slide down oh my God and it wasn’t even like a bounce it was just like I hit it and just slid to the bottom and I blacked out like I just came to and I was laying on the bottom of the stairs and everybody was those how hard was Logan laughing oh they were pissing themselves but they were also trying to make sure I was okay and I was fine I mean my my lower right back is is even more [ __ ] up than normal and I hit my elbow cuz I tried to catch myself but yeah falling down the stairs catches you offu guard you’re like holy like you don’t even know what’s happening when it’s happening but it was a good laugh like my girlfriend told me she’ll never forget she’ll just have that image seared into her head because it was kind of one of those where you fell down the stairs and like disappeared I like just [ __ ] went down and just gone so uh yeah I need to pay attention when I’m going down the stairs do a little better on the stairs all right Marissa you’ve got one for us hey do um I’m a very aggressive driver and I get angry I think that’s where all my anger comes out in my life is driving mine is at my dogs yours is driving yeah and I get yelled at a lot by my husband because he said that you know Denver’s people are crazy and I need to watch myself um I don’t listen and so we were at my sister’s graduation this weekend and I was following my dad out of the parking lot of her college and there was a man behind us and my dad had slowed down so that I could catch up and must have been like looking down for a second but the guy behind me just like puts his horn you know he like SLS it on yeah and uh so my dad you know puts his hand out and it’s like my bad and it was kind of annoying so we move into the next parking lot and we park because my dad needed to like he was like texting me like hey pull over for a second so we park into like actual parking spots the guy gets behind me and slams the horn again and so I’m still driving my car to get into the lot and I turn around and I’m like flipp like and all of sudden Christian’s like screaming at me because I like he doesn’t think I hit my dad but I went into my dad you gave him a love tap yeah and I’m like luckily my dad because my dad is also very feisty he like is jumping out of his car like ready to like he’s like go around and I had like missed it by like that much oh my goodness um but yeah it was a very silent ride home I will say that you’re demograph traffic it I feel like every time somebody flies dve me Drives By Me like flying going crazy it’s like a chick in their 20s just no regard for human life like have you ever seen a more Reckless group of drivers no well and this kind of reminds me I was pulling out of city park on Thursday I went to drop the check off before the tournament and there was uh two cars turning left and I was turning right and so they the the chick’s like pulling out of the zoo just nice day at the zoo and this guy behind her is laying on the horn cuz she’s not going and she’s going but not fast enough apparently so I’m behind them then and the guy uh the they’re driving we’re driving down 23rd or whatever and the chick in front Slams on there’s two chicks Slams on the brakes the one chick [ __ ] rolls the window down and the passengers gets out and like is like out sitting on the window just fle this other dude rips around him honking his horn the whole time what is wrong like people are so nuts I I just like get in the mood to like scream at someone but that just means I’m nice everywhere else in my life that’s that’s no that’s very fair like I yell at my dogs or just inanimate objects sometimes because then it allows me to get that out and not yell at somebody that I’m going to regret but hear me out when you’re on the road there’s a lot like less dangerous places to release your anger yes because you never know how somebody’s gonna react on Ro sometimes it’s just to yourself like when I’m in when I’m in a rush and I hit a red light sometimes I’ll just the loudest f word I can yell you guys are like making me angry thinking about it just feels good and and I’m feisty in general and Christian’s like look I love that that’s like one of the reasons why I married you is you can hold your own he’s like but there are times where you do it and he’s like I’m gonna have to get out of the car and fight like and I don’t want to do it and he’s exactly there Spencer loves to run his mouth as well but then I I’ve never had to fight for him luckily but yeah there’s times when I’m just like dude you’re not going to do anything about it like you going to get out and throw hands or you just want to yell at them I mean I would probably throw hands I’m not going to lie well a dude if they no no no I probably I mean like the chances like it’s not safe like people pull guns on people and they shouldn’t do these things you get shanked no it’s horrible but I still do it every single time and even though I’m lectured not to do it and I agreed to not do it it’s in the moment like you you’re really playing with fire there yeah but I get it I people isn’t it wild how whenever you get on the road literally every time you’re the only person around you that knows how to drive yeah exactly don’t you feel like that every time you get on the road you’re like dip [ __ ] idiot [ __ ] idiot [ __ ] like nobody knows how to drive except you and you think is it great when you get flown by you’re like whoa [ __ ] slow the [ __ ] down but then when you’re so flying by somebody you’re like [ __ ] pick it speed it up like you’re never wrong when you’re on the road nobody ever is like oh I [ __ ] that up like everybody dies on the hill they’re the best driver yeah well I have serious PTSD from getting hit now I think I’m going to get rear ended every time I hit my brakes it’s bad do you look in the rear view immediately like in a traffic jam when you hit your brakes quickly to see if somebody coming up on you I’ve actually got or I was in a hit and run similar to Spencer well the person ran but um you were going to hit yes he hit me and then took off the exit oh Jes but I also was scared for a while yeah like every time I’m like here you go and now I’m like this rental car the thing the the amount of work they put into telling you all the things I’m like I drive I’ve driven a car for 12 years 12 yeah 12 no six 14 years whatever bad math I’m like I get it I can’t crash the car I get it I’m not going to try to yeah believe me like you don’t have to go through all this other rigal with me and tell me how to drive and what this and that but now I’m like it’s going to be a even bigger pain in the ass if I get hit again like it’s going to be a disaster so I just don’t want to deal with it again that’s like the classic mom saying like with the rental cars it’s like we’re not worried about you we’re worried about everybody else you know and they’re like you’re like don’t worry and but it is true because everybody else on the road sucks yeah I mean I’m a horrible driver I race my car through people all the time she drives like [ __ ] Frogger down University it’s insane yeah that would G give me the most anxiety only with myself though when I have people in my car I’m very respectful of I will give credit to Spencer it doesn’t matter who’s in the car he’s looking at his phone that’s true I’ve said [ __ ] infant child it could be me our drives during tailgate season were quiet CU you know he just stares at his phone yeah pretty much that’s I mean credit to you consistent no you’re
