this is our biggest standbag tested dat over 15 models on test so whatever bag you’re looking for I’ve got you covered today check about all the ones you can see here and some others let’s get [Music] started right then back in the studio and there are loads of bags on test as I just mentioned if you like the look of any of the ones you see in this video I’ll put some handy links down in the description where you can find the best price for each bag in your area so five categories today I’m going to be looking at and I’m going to Crown an overall winner those categories are best lightweight best waterproof best value uh best Sunday SL pencil bag excited for that and then best looking uh best vinyl bag which is another emerging category I’m excited to talk about today uh we’re going to start with best lightweight because whenever my friends or colleagues ask what’s the best bag they often want to know which is the best lightweight bag so I think this is a really important category for a lot of golfers so a few uh ones I want to highlight before I give you my category winner firstly is the vessel Sunday 3 this comes in at two and a half kilos which is pretty lightweight for a bag of that quality with that kind of material on it and that does fit 14 clubs there are some really light weight ones like here the Sunday golf LMA XL 1.4 kilos so super super lightweight but it’s a Sunday bag so it doesn’t carry a full set so I’m going to talk more about that a little later one from last year which is worth a shout out is the Wilson exolite standbag this is 1.8 kilo so really really lightweight it’s got four-way divider some magnetic Pockets which just add to the overall appeal of the bag and it also had a really large uh water bottle pocket which I’m something I’m always looking out for on standbag so that’s a good example from last year but two examples of new bags from this year uh firstly the Sun Mountain H2 no light speed uh newly updated 2024 2 kilos uh carries a full set of 14 and this is feature packed huge cooler pocket a really big valuables pocket as well and a four-way divider that can easily carry that set of 14 and at 1.4 kilos it’s the tailor made Flex Tech super light and when you put super light on a bag name it needs to be super light and this really is it carries the full set of 14 it’s got a waterproof valuables pocket full length apparel pocket as well as two pockets at the front for uh balls te’s range FS whatever the heck you want to put in the front of that bag but a 1.4 kilo to be this comfortable and to carry everything that it does it’s an absolute stand out in this category and easily the winner for best lightweight standbag [Music] okay for my second category we’re going to focus in on the best waterproof Stags now another key factor for a lot of people when buying a standbag who play an incent weather so I’m going to look at some of my favorites and then Crown my winner uh firstly I want to mention this it’s the motocaddy hydroflex brand new in 20123 was given an update uh but a great hybrid bag it’s a stand bag and a cart bag I’ve taken the straps off it I most use it as a cart bag but it’s really well proportioned it’s got that easy lock base on the bottom so if you are using it on a trolley it will slot in there without the need for the bungee strap and it’s fully waterproof which is why I’m giving it a shout out in this section it’s a real allrounder for all year because if you carry or use it on a trolley or use it in good weather or use it in bad weather it’s there for you and I want to give that a bit of a shout out as something I think a few of you guys could really enjoy couple of other shout outs I want to give uh to the titlist players for stay dry great allrounder we tested a nice purple colorway this year and the Callaway Fairway CD which we tested in a bright orange colorway this year uh I was a huge fan of it I know my colleague Barry who tested it is also a huge fan of it um there are more subtle ones available if that’s not for you uh but as a bag itself it’s a really great allrounder fully waterproof uh pretty lightweight in the grand scheme of things well proportioned for clubs uh and accessories and a full length power pocket and some really great straps and hit pads they got some they got really nice material that cway use it’s really soft and makes for a nice carrying experience which I think is sort of the the minimum for most backs nowadays so there’s another great option and lastly before a crown my winner is Big Mac and the aqua 7 and the Aqua Eight the eight being bigger than the seven again uh Great Value big mats get a bit underrated in this section actually but I think the waterproof materials they use a really well constructed and it comes with a threeyear guarantee on it which most of the bags can’t offer so those shout outs are some really great waterproof stand bags you’ll be happy with any of them but I wanted to Crown my winner uh because it stands out for me for the attention to detail and that is this it’s the Sun Mountain H2 no light speed and I’ve been using this pretty much all winter and all spring in what’s been a very wet United Kingdom recently and you can see how good it looks still after a bit of a battering it really survives the weather and this waterproof material is impenetrable the Zips are seam sealed so there’s absolutely no leakage whatsoever uh this zipper here you can control with one hand which is a nice touch if you might have an umbrella in one hand here but you want to get into a pocket that can all be operate with one hand hand and the pockets are really well proportioned you can see this has been thought of and designed by golfers and the key example for that is the valuables pocket which has this divider in the middle which means you can put your keys in one side and your phone in the other and it stops them from scratching because we’ve all had it where we’ put keys in a phone in in a valuables pocket and your keys have scratched your phone or some coins have scratched your phone and that’s just a really nice touch that makes you look and think about this bag as being well thought of and for this year it must be worth mentioning uh some Mountain offering embroidery on the ball pocket you see I got my name and the Beautiful golf monthly logo there that sort of thing is normally a portion to clubs doing bulk orders for their Club Crest but now you can get it on individual bags you purchase a Sun Mountain so the reason this is my winner in the best waterproof category is how good it is as a waterproof bag you know out and out and for the attention to detail and the little touches uh that they’ve put across his entire bag for this redesign so well done to Sun Mountain and that’s my best waterproof standbag of of 2024 okay next up let’s chck about the best value stand bags now I don’t lean too heavily on these Brands but McGregor and Big Mac for me uh where you going to find the best value in the standbag market they they make some really good bags at great prices I’ve already mentioned the aqua 7g in in the previous segment 160 quid for a well proportioned fully waterproof bag that’s as good as you going to get pricewise really for one that really works but my winner in this category has got to go to the McGregor this is the Paramount 14 hybrid bag now 14 being it’s got a 14 Way full divider that splits opinion I get it but because this is a hybrid bag you can use it as a stand bag and as a cart bag it’s only 120 quid that’s basically two bags in one and yes the materials a little cheaper there’s no denying that but the padding is good the straps are comfortable there’s well proportioned Pockets across it there’s a valuables pocket a drinks pocket a pencil pocket it’s got everything and for 120 quid for a bag that could be used in multiple situations there isn’t much better than this and a shout out to McGregor for their other bags as well for making really great value options for people across the market okay so this next category is one we’ve only really delved into this year for the first time I’m excited to talk about it it’s it’s Sunday bags pencil bags whatever you want to call it these really lightweight bags that carry roughly half a set and a great if you’re playing nine of an evening or just carry half a set anyway and want a really lightweight bag we’ve tested three this year and one last year that I want to talk about the one from last year is a tit this premium carry bag that’s one with no legs on it a great option if it really is half a set on a Sunday evening but the three we’ve tested this year I think are really comprehensive and genuine options for for any kind of goal for really I’ll come on to my favorite in a minute but a couple of shout outs first uh The Vessel Sunday 3 now this is Sunday by name but I wouldn’t say quite Sunday by Nature it’s a pretty comprehensive bag perfectly proportioned for 14 clubs beautifully made as every vessel bag is with this this sort of leather material great pockets and it is a smaller bag uh but not quite Sunday by nature in the next two I’m going to talk about so next up is the Callaway Par 3 HD now this ways comes in at 2 kilos it’s not the lightest Sunday bag on the planet but it’s got those brilliant sort of slightly smaller legs that are maybe about a foot long that just keep that front end of the bag off the ground when you leave it in places you can squeeze 14 into it but it’s a little bit of a tight one I’d say 8 to 10 or 11 are probably best if you’re using this bag but it’s super lightweight and as with all Callaway bags really well built really well proportioned as well for the kind of bag that it is and I think if you after a classic Sunday bag with those small legs there’s you want to go for however my winner is a bag I’ve just I sort of fell in love with weirdly and I know it’s a weird thing to say about golf bags cuz they’re inanimate objects but it’s this it’s the Sunday Sunday golf LMA XL so it’s literally in the Brand’s name to be Sunday bags here and this thing is just gorgeous this toasted almond colorway I think makes this thing look really trendy um and I’ve never used a Sunday bag before so why I’m excited to talk about it today and I’ve used this for a couple of rounds only fits eight clubs an absolute maximum proper Sunday bag half set but they’ve just thought about everything in this bag everything else in this bag perfectly there’s a pocket for everything there’s a brilliant valuables pocket which is still Vore line it’s like really soft red felt there’s somewhere to Sticky glove somewhere to stick the pencils uh a little sort of mesh pocket here which I’ve put a rangefinder in or a GPS whatever you use and my absolute favorite and you can see it now it’s the frosty pocket I mean that in its own brought a smile to my face it’s quite a fun bag but this can perfectly fit a water bottle or two cans of your favorite hard selts whatever you might to drink out on the golf course and I could just tell this bag has been made with love care and attention by people who love the game and love what a Sunday bag is all about right so if you’re in the market for one and you’re looking for for a lightweight but still very well proportioned half set bag that looks beautiful and just makes you smile it’s made me smile the Sunday golf LMA XL is a real winner okay so my final category I’ve called it best looking but what I’m really looking at here are those best like vinyl bags you know those classic bags that are very much coming back into style now oio bought a new one out this year called The Shadow love that name and there were some shadowy colors in it I think the all black one that my colleagues tested looks so clean so if you’re one of those golfers that loves a classic looking bag and wants that to be sort of you know as clean as possible so you can add your color in it on your towel or on the head covers or or whatever it is that oio shadow just looks absolutely mint so well done to them for that um sort of latching onto this trend and doing a really concise job of it uh another bag worth mention for style is the minimal Terror se1 interestingly uh this stand has no Zips only magnetic Pockets which do work very well and very premium although they do mean it isn’t 100% waterproof so bear that in mind uh that said the frost white color on that recycled nylon material worth noting looks super cool and there’s plenty of storage on offer throughout the bag definitely one of the best looking of 2024 uh the two I want to really focused on though that I think we need to bring to people’s attention firstly the Stitch SL2 Fade Away Stitch again an emerging brand they do apparel they do bags and this SL2 fadeaway is beautifully crafted my colleague Neil has been using it he’s got his initials on it and it’s beautiful Navy colorway again really really wellb built bag the reason not quite one this category is it’s just missing a few pockets in our opinion it’s missing at least a big valuables uh sorry no a big apparel pocket and probably one on the front for some balls as well um from the feedback Neil hasn’t it was just missing a couple but still beautifully crafted in this um emerging trending space but the winner and the comfortable winner for me is another bag I’ve fallen in love with I keep falling in love with animate objects this year but hey that’s my job uh it’s the vessel Sunday 3 um in this beautiful gray colorway this is again it’s not quite a Sunday bag by name as I mentioned a minute ago but it is perfectly proportion for me for a full set of 14 and all the accessories you need it’s got a big enough um apparel pocket to put one sort of Gile in maybe the valy bbls pocket is brilliantly lined it’s got a magnetic Rangefinder pocket I’m a sucker for a magnetic pocket I really am and then a decent pocket on the front for the balls and it’s just really clean really welld designed and I know on the expensive end I think this one’s just shy of £300 but that’s not much more than some others I think and you really feel like you get your money’s worth with that so there you have it that was our biggest standbag test today hope you’ve enjoyed that and let me know which of these is um it’s felt genuinely and’ll be dramatic like a sort of extension of myself this thing fits on my back perfectly it carries just what I need and no more I don’t all that clutter no more and no less and it’s beautiful I’ve had a a lot of comments saying just how good this bag looks I’m one of those people that likes a really clean bag who can then accessorize it with like towels and head covers and stuff and that does that job perfectly uh all of my categor iners though I think are worthy standbag so depending on what your priorities are whether it’s lightweight waterproof uh hybrid value
